Calum settled into the Uber seat once he’d climbed in, relaxing happily as he peered out the window, looking forward to seeing Sierra again after what felt like forever without her by his side. He hated being away from her, but he loved coming home and knowing that she would be there when he got there. When he heard his phone go off, he could feel his heart swell even before he pulled it out, because some sixth sense within him just knew that it was Sierra, and the thought made him grin. Pulling his phone from his pocket, he pulled up her message, though his brows furrowed when he saw the music box. It was a cute gift, but Calum definitely hadn’t chosen that to gift her - he had chosen something, of course, but he hadn’t ordered it in time for it to beat him home, it wasn’t even supposed to arrive until that weekend. Sorry, babe, that’s not from me. It’s cute and everything, but I haven’t picked out anything like that. I love you, though, and I can’t wait to see you. I’ll be home in no more than, maybe, ten or fifteen minutes. Cuddle day when I get there to make up for the fact that I didn’t get that one for you? But, he did wonder who had. He didn’t think too much about it, of course - they’d gotten fan gifts before, from fans who’d discovered their address leaked online, so he figured maybe that was what had happened, and he couldn’t blame anybody who would want to spoil Sierra. But, of course, he wasn’t about to let anybody beat him in spoiling her.
Letha grinned when she got the first text, her heart swelling at the picture. I can’t wait to see you when you get to the house! After sending the text, she peered down when she heard dog paws against the kitchen floor and she grinned as she peered down, spotting Petunia trotting in. “Hey, there, sweetie,” she whispered, kneeling down to cup the dog’s face before she kissed the top of her head and stroked her head affectionately. “I bet you can’t wait for Daddy to get home, hm?” And, when Petunia barked happily, her tail wagging, Letha couldn’t help but to laugh, convincing herself that Petunia understood exactly what she was saying. She blinked, though, when she realized she had another text and, standing, she peered at her phone, arching a brow at the text. That’s weird. How long until you’re home? Petunia misses you! And so do I! And, quickly, she knelt back down with Petunia, hugging Petunia close with one arm and she pouted over-dramatically as she snapped the picture of herself with Petunia before she sent it to Luke. For a moment, the jewelry box was forgotten but, when she stood back up fully, she examined the box, surprised that there was no return address - but, she pushed the box aside, because she couldn’t use the jewelry box when it wasn’t from Luke, not when it was heart-shaped. It didn’t feel right.
