It kinda surprised Alex as Victoria snapped at him for calling her, Vicky. He wasn't expecting it, but he wasn't going to say anything, it just didn't really seem like not was the time for that. Besides, there were more pressing matters at the moment, like everything that was spilling from her lips. She was finally realizing something that Alex kinda realized from the very beginning.

"No, there really isn't any magic here," Alex said, reinstating something that she already knew. "Well, I mean. There's fake illusion magic, but nothing that is even remotely similar to what you or those people could do." Alex explained, offering a small sheepish smile as he gently rubbed the back of his neck. A small nervous laugh escaping from him before he lowered his head and let out a small sigh. He really got himself into a mess.

"I have no fucking idea how I got myself into this," Alex mumbled before he stood up and walked out of the room. He went to his office for a few moments before coming back with his laptop in his hands. "Sit." He commanded before he sat down on the couch and set the laptop on the coffee table. "I don't really think that shopping in stores is going to be a good idea right now, so we'll just express ship it here." He told her as he logged onto his laptop and started to bring up a few tabs to look at different clothing stores.

"So, these are some of the most popular stores around here. An to look through them, you use this." Alex then proceeded to explain to Victoria how to use the mouse pad and how to add things to cart and find her measurements on things. "Alright, your limit in total it two hundred." He told her, knowing that pants by themselves are like thirty bucks.

Victoria looked at the odd object skeptically as Alex tried to show her what to do on it. She couldn't fully understand what it was or how it was working. And how this wasn't some form of magic was beyond Victoria. Though, slowly, she got the hang of just picking out clothes that, as far as she knew, would work. Victoria handed the weird cold metal thing back to Alex once she was finished. "Would these things work?" Victoria asked him. "I don't know what the women wear here."

Once she was no longer focused on finding herself clothes, Victoria was beginning to pace in the living room again. With the knowledge that she had now, new problems were emerging. "How am I suppose to get back?" She murmured. "I don't really know how to travel through different plants, if that is what happened. I am not sure I even have enough power by myself if I did... And if there is no magic here, I guess there are no books on the discipline either."

Victoria let out a sigh. "And, what am I going to do about the three men chasing me? I am sure one of them must know something about how to get back...Plus they could tell me why they are after me." She wrinkled her nose a bit. "But even if we managed to capture me, it's not like you have a prison here and we would ultimately have to let them go." She turned back to Alex. "I don't know what to do."

Alex allowed Victoria to do as she pleased on his laptop before he took it back and looked over what she had picked. His head slowly nodding as he looked at what she had picked. For a girl not from this time, she did have some good taste in clothing, given, some of it was clothing that was out of season, but still. They all looked good to him.

So, pulling out his credit card, Alex glanced up at Victoria as she spoke. Listening for a moment before finishing with buying all of the clothing that she wanted to get. Making sure to do express shipping on the items when available. "We'll figure everything out." He murmured as he finished putting his information in and then closing the machine all together before placing it on the coffee table and leaning back on his couch, his eyes closing.

"In some supernatural movies," Alex started after a few moments of quiet. "Witches use the power of the moon or comets to enhance their powers." He murmured, remembering that it was mentioned in Supernatural and Vampire Diaries. Two shows that were his secret pleasures. "Do your people have something similar to that?" He asked, opening his eyes and looking towards Victoria as he sat up. "A power enhancer?"

Slowly, Alex brought his right hand to his face and scratched his chin in thought. A small hum escaping from him as he slowly lowered his gaze towards the ground in thought. "Can you enchant a rope or something to keep a guys power in check or something?" He asked, looking towards the Princess, wondering if anything he was saying could help her or not.

Victoria couldn't help but let out a laugh at Alex's suggestions. She knew it was rude but what he was saying sounded so ridiculous to her. "The moon or the comets are not going to help me." The princess said with a giggle. "Though a power enhancer is not a bad idea... Though it is not what you are thinking. I could, possibly, pull together a drink that would give me more magic to work with." She let out a small sigh. "But afterwards, I'll be completely exhausted and might even pass out. Those drinks always have some kind of side effect."

"But I wonder if you even have the ingredients that I will need to be able to make it in the first place. And once I do, I'll need to figure out how to open up a portal back home... and how would I even get home and not kidnapped if I end up passing out because of it?" Victoria wrinkled her nose a bit before grabbing a pen and a blank piece of paper. She started to jot down everything she would need in order to make the potion.

Though once she was finished, Victoria looked back up at Alex curiously. Maybe she could get him to agree to come with her to the castle? Once they were there, it should be easy to open up a portal back home for him... Maybe a question to ask him later. "And there are a few ways I could keep his powers in check but it would be best if we got him alone before I did that. Try to distract the other two somehow so we could take him with us."

Shifting his gaze towards Victoria, Alex made sure that his un-amusement was showing. He did not find her commentary needed, but he was glad he was about to bring up something that might be able to help. "You never know before you try Victoria. Now, what ingredients do you need?" He asked, scooting to the edge of his chair as he rested his arms on his knees. "If we don't have the ingredients, can we make substitutions?" He asked, wondering as well if they have the same things here or not.

"I know some martial arts, I could try and protect you if you pass out." Alex offered, trying to sound confident, although to be honest, he hadn't practiced as much as he knew that he should. He's missed his training for the past month because of his case that he was working on currently.

Sitting quietly, Alex nodded his head as he listened to Victoria. Then shifted his gaze towards the paper that she was writing things down on. "How should I distract them? With my dashing good looks?" He asked, trying to send in some humor into this situation. "Really though, how do you think I should distract them? These guys don't seem normal if they can just appear in my world and cause so much havoc."

"There is a possibility that substitution would work but I do not know what the side effects are going to be. We will need to be careful since no one here will be able to undo the effects if it goes really wrong." Victoria said before handing him the completed list. There were some things on there that would be known by Alex but others were definitely impossible to find, like Selkie tears. Though under each item, Victoria gave a small description of what they were like, in hopes to make it easier to find an equivalent in his world.

Victoria looked over at him, taking him in for a moment. She was sure he was capable to find his way to her castle but there was something else she needed to consider... "Thank you for the offer. I will need your help to get home. And I will make sure you get back here immediately once we do. Though, if you are going to help me, I'll need to create magical protection for you. I am sure you can hold your own in a fight but since you aren't familiar to magic, we shouldn't take our chances there."

She let out a warm laugh at his joke. "Well, they don't know who you are or anything about this world. Magic is something that they would expect but I am sure that there is something here that would throw them off?" Victoria looked down at the weird cool metal object he had given her. "Perhaps there are more things like this? I have never seen it before in my life... Are there things like this that would be able to cause a distraction?"

Slowly, Alex grabbed the list from Victoria. His eyes gazed down the line of ingredients. A look of confusion appearing on his face as some of the things confused him. Like, how the hell was he suppose to find selkie tears? Or, a wing bone from a Griffen? This wasn't harried potter, he didn't have these sort of things. Nor, did he know- he knew someone who could help with finding replacements. "I never thought I'd have to ask that nerd about his weird habits before..." Alex mumbled to himself before texting his brother. He'll need all the nerdy information that he could get.

Then, once the text was sent, Alex looked up at Victoria once more as she spoke. "How would you make protection for me?" Alex asked as he slowly crossed his arms over his chest. A look of slight worry appearing on his face. "How long will it last? Because I'm not sure I'm a fan of the idea of you doing all of this stuff in one day." Alex told her, his voice soft as he allowed for his worry to show through. "If I give you that ring back, could you just put a protection thing on it, so it'll only protect me if I'm wearing it?"

A small hum escaped from Alex as he rubbed his chin in thought. He glanced towards the laptop. His dark eyes narrowing a little bit as he thought about it. "A laptop in particular, no, but I'm sure that I can think of something," He murmured. "Maybe a drone could be programmed to fire BB's at them or something." Alex murmured in thought. "Or maybe I can have someone hack into something, but, if I get connected to that then it'll be a big mess since I'm a lawyer. Hmm."

"Are you alright with taking a few days to prepare everything?" Alex asked as he glanced towards Victoria. "I'm not sure we'll be able to plan everything in one day."

"I don't think we have much of an option anyways..." Victoria said softly in response to things taking a few days. There was little chance that Victoria was going to be able to set up everything that they needed to in order to get home. Just kidnapping the mage was going to be difficult enough. Plus they didn't even have the ingredients she needed for the potion so that alone was going to take some time. "Though I don't want to be gone longer than I have to be."

Standing up, Victoria walked over to the ring that she had given Alex before going back to the living room and setting it down on the coffee table. "I can set up protection for this ring now.." The princess wrinkled her nose for a moment before moving her hands over the jewelry. "It will last a couple of days and should protect you from most magic." She let out a small sigh. "Though this is going to take a couple of hours to get the level of protection that you need."

Victoria rubbed her hands together, a few magical purple sparks coming off of them. "Okay, just don't interrupt me unless someone is trying to kill us." With that said, Victoria started to solely focus on the ring in front of her. The woman's eyes slowly turned into an intense purple as she looked at the object unblinkingly. A small, steady stream of magic started to come from her hands and land onto the ring. Words written in some strange language started to be written on and around the ring in a small orb. The longer she was there, the bigger the orb started to grow and the writing started to move over itself until it was just a large jumbled mess. Though, after time started to pass, she started to grow weary.

A nod of the head was really all Alex could do as he let Victoria do her thing. Leaning back in his chair, Alex let out a small quiet sigh and pulled out his phone. His brother had come through it seemed and had sent him some things from his D&D books that had information on potion making and items.

Scrolling through the list, Alex pursed his lips in thought. Some of the things that were similar were still hard to get in current day New York. He'll have to travel quite a bit to some places that would have this. Like, how he needed the Griffen thing, he could just get poultry wings. Other things like the selkie tears, he'll have to travel to the south side to see if he could find some special blessed colored sand of some kind that could only be found at one store.

After a while of doing some research on things, Alex could feel his stomach start to grumble. So, following the command of his stomach, he stumbled his way to the kitchen and looked at what to make. A small grin appearing on his lips as he saw that he had some pizza he could throw in the oven.

A quiet hum escaped from the young man as he moved around the kitchen. Doing his best to be quiet as he got busy with getting things together and then throwing the pizza into the oven once it was done warning. Walking towards the counter, he leaned against it and watched Victoria as he hopefully finished up her little magic trick.

Before the pizza in the oven finished, Victoria completed the protection magic. After such a long spell, her face had turned pale and there was a weariness in her eyes. The princess laid her head back against the couch for a few moments before laying down completely on the couch, pulling her feet up and laying her head against the pillow. The spell had taken a lot out of her due to the length of the spell casting and the amount of protection that Alex required to protect her.

The ring itself had changed now that the protection was on it but the spell was no longer being casted. The words that adored it and around it were now gone. Though, the ring was certainly different than it was before. A soft glow emanated from it, revealing it now added magic. In addition to that, it now radiated some kind of power, though to a novice, it would be hard to know the differences in power.

At least the princess now knew that was done and it would be enough to protect her new friend. Anything less than that would not be acceptable. She let out a small sigh as she heard the ding in the kitchen. Slowly, Victoria lifted her head and looked over to Alex. "What is that?"

Putting on an oven mitt, Alex moved towards the oven and pulled out the pizza. Tossing the sheet it was on onto the stove so that he could close the oven door. His dark eyes then moved towards Victoria who seemed to be quite tired. "What's what?" He asked, confused about what she was referring to.

Then, he slipped the mitt off and tossed it to the side as he went about getting a pizza cutter from a drawer and getting to work on cutting up the pizza for them. "That sound was a timer that I set on the stove." He told her, then reached for a plate he had brought out before the pizza was done and placed a few pieces onto it. "What I just made was a frozen pizza." He told her as he set the plate down and filled the second plate.

Once both plates had pizza on them, Alex grabbed them and placed them on the kitchen table. "Come and eat." He told her as he walked towards the fridge and pulled out two cans of Pepsi. "Do you have carbonated drinks where you're from?" He asked, curiously as he placed the cold cans on the table. "If not, you're in for a treat." He told her, grinning a little bit.

Alex waited for a tired looking Victoria to make her way towards the kitchen table. Moving to help her by pulling out a chair for her. Then, he sat across from her. "Alright so, to open the pop can, you need to tap it like this, then pull this tab. Like this." He said and slowed her as he demonstrated with his own can. A small grin appearing on his lips at the satisfying click of the can opening, followed by the sizzle of the pop. "Pepsi and pizza are the best together. Never let anyone else argue about it." Alex told Victoria as he raised the can to his lips and took a small sip of the sugary drink.

A satisfied sigh escaped from the man's lips as he set the can down. His gaze looking over the table towards Victoria to make sure she was doing alright. Then, he grabbed a slice of pizza and started to munch on it. All of the days excitement had really made him hungry.

(I hope you don't mind but I kinda just jumped ahead to the next day)

Victoria followed Alex's example as he showed her how to open up the metal glass in front of her. She looked at the can in confusion, pushing down harder until it eventually popped open, making the young woman jump. It was not what she had been expecting, even though she had seen Alex's drink do the same. Her head tilted to the side, listening close to the fizzing before bringing the can to her lips and taking a sip. Eyes widening as the drink slid along her tongue and down her throat.

"Wow," Victoria said as she set the drink down. "It is very... ah bubbly?" The princess said, moving her hands into her lap, running her hands over her calves. It had not been what she was expecting and Victoria needed some time to get used to the odd texture. Though, admittedly, she did like the taste.

Once Alex had taken a bite of his own food, Victoria followed suit. There was not a lot of items that the princess ate with her hands. Even so, the pizza was rather floppy and something she thought would be best eaten with silverware. But, determination took hold to follow the customs and Victoria took a bite of the pizza. This time, an immediate smile moved over her lips. "This is much better."

Eating hungrily, Victoria actually ate a full meal before wiping her hands with the napkin provided. Now that she was full, the tiredness was setting in even more. Her eyes beginning to close slightly. Luckily, tomorrow's spell should not take so much out of her. Slowly, Victoria stood up and smiled at Alex softly. "I am going to head to bed." She whispered before doing just that.

After a long rest, even sleeping in a bit, Victoria got up. With some help, she was able to figure out the shower. Afterward, she dressed in the new clothes that had been express shipped to Alex's home. Now she was wearing black jeans, a tee shirt, and a light coat. As she came out of her area, Victoria looked up at Alex's curious before showing off her outfit. "Does this look right to you?"

Glancing up from the coffee in his hand, Alex leveled his gaze on Victoria as he heard her voice. His whole body just froze as he took in the sudden change in appearance. She looked pretty good, she looked, like a normal girl from his world. She looked like she could blend in, and get some male attention. That last thought caused a slight tightening in his chest, but he did his best to try and not dwell on it.

"You look great." He told her, offering a small smile as he placed the coffee mug down on the counter. "But it looks like your shirts backward," Alex said, then snickered a little as she fell for his little prank. "I'm kidding, it's not. You really do look good in that though. You put together a very fashionable outfit." He told her, then raised his coffee to his lips so that he didn't dig himself a deeper grave.

"How does everything feel? You're not wearing a dress anymore, so this has got to be a surprise for you."

Once the caffeine started to course through Alex, a small sigh escaped from him as he looked towards Victoria once more. "So." He started, not sure what else to say at the moment except getting to the point of what he wanted to ask. "What's the plan for today? Are we going out for ingredients? Or, are we doing something else that needs to be done in order to get you back home to your world?" Alex asked, his head tilting towards the side as he waited for the young girl across from him to speak. She knew the proper order to get things done, do Alex just let her run with it.

"It feels really odd." Victoria said as she slowly ran her hands over the black jeans she was wearing. "Kinda... I don't know restricted?" She stretched her legs out a bit before letting out a sigh. "They are not as good as my clothes at home. Our pants are flowier." Turning around, Victoria glanced at her butt in the mirror, her nose scrunching up. She felt like she was showing off a lot in the outfit, but it was what the others were wearing when they had gone out.

Letting out a sigh, Victoria turned back to Alex and started to speak again. "We might as well go get the ingredients first. I mean there is really no point in finding and kidnapping the guy until I have enough power to follow whatever spell he used. Plus, if we are going shopping, we can get items for the distraction as well, right?"

"Besides, the potion is going to take me some time. It sounds like I am going to have to tinker with it to make sure it doesn't end up killing me with because of the ingredients that we have to substitute." Walking over to the table, Victoria picked up the ring. It was brimming with energy. "You should wear this while we go out, in case they see us."

Victoria handed him the ring, waiting for the man to put it on. "I will just need to find another way to pay you back once I get home. Since you probably shouldn't sell this ring anymore."

A small chuckle escaped from Alex as he listened to Victoria speak. "Well of course it's be restricted. You went for skinny jeans." Alex told her. "They're tighter than normal jeans that people wear, makes them look taller and skinnier, hence the name." Explaining clothing to a woman was kinda odd to the lawyer, but he went with it. He's had weirder things happen in the past few days.

"Alright, then we can head out once I'm done with my coffee." Alex murmured as he raised his mug to his lips once more and took a few more sips of the caffeinated drink. "Do they have coffee where you're from?" Alex asked, arching a brow as he held out a hand to take the ring from Victoria and slipping it onto his finger once more. "What about tea? Do you guys have like, sword fights and jousting?"

Once Alex was done with his coffee, he placed the mug in the sink so that he could wash it later. Then, he went to his room to change really quick before moving to the front door. His keys that were kept in a bowl near the door were in his hands and he was ready to go. "We can get the ingredients for the spell first. The stuff for the distractions we can get on our way back." Alex explained, as he didn't want to carry to much stuff inside at once.

"We should probably take my car, I don't know what everything is going to weigh and I really don't want to be carrying a tv sized object around all day." It was meant as a slight joke, but Alex wasn't sure if Victoria was going to understand that. "Oh, can you grab my list on the coffee table in the living room?" Alex asked, glancing towards Victoria as he opened the front door.

"Yes, we have tea." Victoria said with a laugh as she followed him into the kitchen. Once he made her a cup, she sat down and took a few sips of it with a pleasant hum. "And there are sword fights but what is jousting?" She asked him, her head tilting to the side a bit. As Alex went off to get ready, Victoria happily finished her cup of tea. Though once he was out, she was back on her feet.

"Nothing should be too heavy... Though I do not know what you substituted." At Alex's request, Victoria headed over to the coffee table and grabbed the list. She then followed him off to the car, checking on her protection spell on his home before heading down with him. When they got to the car, Victoria took a deep breath before sliding into it and trying to put her seatbelt on, taking her a few tries until she really understood it. The woman's hands dropped onto the seat as she grabbed onto it tightly. "I hate this thing." She mumbled to him.

As they started off, Victoria closed her eyes tightly, trying to take a few deep breaths. There was something about this that seemed more frightening than the carriages at home. Those were enjoyable rides but that was not the case with this metal beast. "Are we close?" Victoria asked him after just two minutes of being in the car.

Just learning that little bit of information about Victoria's world interested Alex. He had no idea that her world and his world's history could be so similar and different at the same time. It was interesting. Kinda like he was talking to a historical figure in the past or something like that.

"We just started driving Victoria. It'll be at least a half hour till we get to our first destination." He told her as he focused on the drive. Their first stop was in China town, which was a short distance away by car. Last night, Alex managed to find a few spice shops that might have what they'd need. Plus, thankfully they were all close to each other as well.

Glancing towards Victoria, Alex noticed that she looked a little nervous. That brought a small frown to his lips and he couldn't help but react on instinct. "Hey." He said, reaching over with a hand and gently placing it on her leg as he gently patted it. "You're fine. I have a perfect driving record." Alex said, his voice soft as he stopped at a red light and cast her a small grin.

Slowly, Alex ran his tongue over his lips as he thought about what else could help Victoria relax. "Do you know how to ride a horse?" He asked, trying to distract Victoria as much as he could. "Do your carriages even get pulled by them or do you have like, some other kinds of animal pull it? Or is by magic? What about running water or electricity?"

(Psst, Alex never made her tea.)

Victoria opened up her eyes and looked up at him. Nervousness kept moving through her, though she did feel a bit better as he tried to comfort her. The princess' hand moved up to Alex's, holding onto it a bit tightly. She took a few deep breaths as she forced herself to only focus on Alex and not the other things that were currently happening.

"Yes, I know how to ride, quite well actually. It is one of the main ways to get around, especially for those who don't have any magic. Besides, horse riding is quite enjoyable and I love my mare." Victoria said, beginning to just blab a bit so she could only focus on what they were talking about. "Our carriages are mostly pulled by horses. Some are by magic, it really depends on who you are and what you need. Though my carriage has both magic properties as well as pulled by horses. Most people don't do that though most people don't need what I need."

Victoria closed her eyes again as the car started to speed up a bit more. Though once it leveled off at the speed he wanted, Victoria opened up her eyes and looked to back to Alex again. It was definitely easier when she focused on him, and she could feel her heart beginning to calm down. "We have running water, mostly run by magic. Electricity as well. That is a form of magic actually." Victoria was quiet for a few moments before speaking again. "Do you have, um, Moelana?"

(I just assumed that if she asked for it, he would have made it. Sorry!)

Feeling Victoria's hand grasp his, Alex took this chance to lightly squeeze hers back. Not minding that it kinda felt like she was cutting off his circulation. If it was helping the young girl get over her fear of things, then he'd allow her to break his hand. Besides, he was pretty sure she could whip something up for the pain or something. Who knew.

"For riding, do you sit with one leg on each side, or do you have to sit with both legs on one side?" Alex asked, wanting to keep the conversation going. A figured what he'd seen in movies of different era's seemed like it'd go with this current topic just fine. At least he hoped.

Confusion slowly started to appear on Alex's face as he heard the question leave Victoria's lips. "Moe- what?" He asked, confused. Alex cast a quick glance towards Victoria before looking back at the road to make sure he didn't hit anyone. "Uh, there's a Disney movie called Moana, it's about some girl looking for the god Maui and trying to save her island." Alex let out a small nervous chuckle. Finding it a little embarrassing that he'd know so much about a kids movie.

After a while, Alex pulled into a parking garage and got a permit to park for a few hours. He drove through the parking garage for a while before finding a spot on the rooftop. Parking, Alex made his way around to Victoria's side and opened the door for her. "Ready to use an elevator?" He asked, once she was out and pointed towards the square moving thing that'd take them down to the first floor.

    (OOOOhhh, okay. I gotcha.)

Victoria looked to Alex for a moment, blinking a few times as she was surprised that he did not know what Moelana was. Though a soft smile moved over her lips and she let out a small giggle as he provided his explanations. "No, it is nothing like that." She said soft. Her head tilted slightly as she tired to figure out how to explain it. "It is like... sometimes when the moon is full and the sky is clear, these, um, beads of soft material come down. It feels jelly like but it shines and it's so warm. Do you have that?"

Once they arrived, Victoria thanked Alex for opening the door and letting her out. Once her feet touched the ground, the woman let out a sigh of relief. She closed her eyes for a few moments before opening them widely and following Alex to the strange square. she nodded to him, agreeing to get in with him. As they stepped in, Victoria was quick to take Alex's hand again. She was feeling some comfort in being close to him as it seemed the man knew what to say to make her feel better.

As the elevator went down, Victoria tensed up and held onto his hand tighter. Though, unlike the car, she found the ride to be very short and she was quick to get ff once it allowed her to. "What are we picking up here?" She asked before slowly letting go of his hand and looked over at Alex's list. Victoria was curious if her position was going to work at all under these conditions.
