What Victoria was explaining to him, really confused him. Alex really had no idea how to reply to what she had just told him. So, instead of answering right away, he waited until they were on solid ground. As he didn't want to sound like he was making fun of her by his answer, although, he was just being honest.

"That sounds kinda gross. Warm jelly falling from the sky." Alen turned his head towards Victoria, a look showing that he wasn't quite sure on how he should be reacting to the information. "Um, we have something that's the opposite of that." He told her, keeping a hold of her hand as she stepped off of the elevator.

"It's called snow here, it only happened during winter on a cloudy day or night. White little puffs fall from the sky, but they melt quite fast if they touch something warm as they're just made of water." He explained, hoping that his explanation of snow would be good enough for her to understand.

Then, stopping in his tracks. Alex looked both ways before pointing towards a Chinese grocery store. "We have to go in there to get some bento flake to replace those sort of scales that you need. Then we can see if they have some kind of tea or medicine that had a strongly soothing effect." He told her, before starting to lead the way to their first destination.

"Sounds odd..." Victoria said softly as she followed Alex through china town. As they moved closer to the area and towards all the people, the princess stayed at Alex's side. Gently, she took his hand into hers, trying her best not to get lost in the crowd of people. Everything about Alex's world was strange to her, and Victoria wasn't quite sure what the oddest thing there was. The market here looked so much different than the ones at home. It appeared that everything had its own separate building, and most of them were only one story. There was no magic, no people zooming around...

That being said, there were similarities as well. It was crowded and all types of people were running around. People talking, music playing, some entertainers off to the side. The area surely was lively. Victoria lifted her head, looking up at Alex as he lead her towards the grocery store. As they headed inside, she felt a coolness touch her skin. The princess shivered lightly as she looked around. The store inside, the items, much of it was not what she had seen before, and unlike her markets, everything was calm and organized inside.

"This place is...odd." Victoria said after a moment as Alex leader her down one to the bento flakes. Once they were standing in front of it, Victoria reached over and opened the bag before reaching in and tasting one. Immediately, her nose wrinkled up. "I don't like that..."

A small chuckle escaped from Alex as he listened to Victoria. "Everything is odd to you here." He said, shaking his head a little bit. His hand that was holding hers lightly squeezed it, just giving her a small done of reassurance so that she knew that he was there with her in the large place.

Walking down the isle of the bento flakes. Alex almost had a heart attack as he watched Victoria just open a bag and start to eat them. "You can't do that, Victoria. We didn't buy them yet." He said as he took the bag from her and looked at the front of the packaging. They weren't even the right ones that they needed to buy.

"They're for soup stocks and ramen, you don't just eat them," Alex explained as he looked at the other bags that were available to buy. Then, he reached out and grabbed a bag that had flakes that were a little bit bigger than the ones that Victoria had picked out.

"Alright, now we need to see if they have a spice aisle." Alex said as he glanced towards Victoria and motioned for her to follow him as he looked for the aisle. "Sorry for snapping at you, but in our world it's considered stealing to try a product that hasn't been bought yet. Unless it's a free sample that the workers here give you."

"Oh." Victoria said softly as he explained that she couldn't open them. It did cause the woman to jump a little bit, as he surprised her from the suddenly scolding. Though as he explained, she understood what he was saying. She was glad to move on as he explained what they were used for, not wanting to be snapped at again. Victoria was used to pushback but it was different with Alex, especially when she was in a strange land. "That explains why they didn't taste very good."

She followed him as he picked up a new bag and led her to the spice aisle. Her head lifted up as he apologized for snapping at her. "I am sorry, I didn't know." Victoria responded as she looked at him with gentle eyes. "At home, you are encouraged to try the products so you know what you are paying for. Though how do you know if someone is not ripping you off?" She asked him softly. It was common for most food items to be tasted in small amounts - as long as it wasn't overly rare.

Once they reached the spice section, her head tilted a bit as she saw all the little bottles. Some of the names, Victoria knew but were were things she had never heard of before. "Why are the bottles so small?" Victoria asked as she moved forward and, very cautiously touched them, even looking at Alex before she did so. She didn't want to step over the boundaries again.

It was nice that they seemed to be learning from each other. Victoria was learning about Alex's world and well as the other way around. "Well, you have to just think about it really. What are you buying, do you think that price is fair and if the product's quality." Alex explained as they walked along the aisle.

Stopping in his tracks, Alex couldn't help but to smile as he watched Victoria. It was amusing to watch her walk around and explore. "They're spices, a little bit goes a long way." He explained to her. Then, reached out and picked up a salt grinder with salt in it. "See this."He glanced towards Victoria to make sure she could see him. "You turn this part and salt comes out. You only need a little bit because to much can make the food taste bad instead of improving it." He said, before placed the salt back on the shelf.

Turning his eyes back towards the shelf, Alex took another moment before finding what he was looking for. "Here we go." He mumbled quietly, grabbing the bag of mint off of the shelf. "You mentioned something about a ice plant. Well, the closest thing to a cold plant is mint, it's got this weird sort of cooling effect and helps relax people." Alex explained, looking at the packaging to make sure that it was a good brand before nodding.

"Did you want to look around the store for a moment before we head to our next stop?" Alex asked, wanting to make sure that Victoria had a say in what they were doing at the moment.

"I know what spices are but you buy so little of it!" Victoria said as she looked at the bottles again. Though as he picked up something, Victoria turned her attention back to Alex. Her head turns slightly as she looked at the salt bottle. "Our salt is already grinded. Why do you have to do it yourself?"

Victoria let out a small hum as he offered to let her look around the store. She then headed over to the fruit and vegetables section. "Why is it so cold over here?" The woman asked as she looked around at all of the strange plants that were available. Her eyes narrowed at them, trying to understand what was what. Once again, some of them looked familiar but there were certainly things that Victoria had never laid her eyes on.

Eventually, the woman stopped in front of a yellow, pointy fruit with a tall green leafy crown. Victoria looked at Alex nervously before she picked it up and showed it to the man. "What is this?" She asked him softly, her head tilting as she did so. Victoria did not understand how one would even eat it in the first place. "Is everything in here meant to be eaten?" She asked. "I mean if you don't have magic, then what else do you use all of this for?"

"We have somewhere you can just pour the salt out. Some people just like to grind the salt themselves." Alex explained as he followed Victoria, looking around as they walked. This was a different grocery store then what he was used to, so some of the things here he didn't even know about.

Looking forward, Alex couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. "That's a pineapple," Alex said, grinning slightly. "It's kept cold so that the food doesn't spoil." He told her, looking around at everything else that was in the area.

Shifting his eyes back towards Victoria, Alex couldn't help but grin a little. "This is a grocery store, it's only got food that we can eat." He explained. "We use fridges and freezers to store food for a couple of weeks, so we don't have to worry about things going bad." He explained. "Do you want to get that and try some when we get back to my apartment?" Alex asked, looking at the fruit that was still in her hands.

"If you do, smell the part between the green part and the rest of the body. Does it smell sweet?" He asked, wondering if she'd do it before he explains. "If so, it's sweet, otherwise we need to look at the other ones."

A bright smile moved over Victoria's lips and she nodded eagerly. "Yes, I would like that very much." She said before pressing her nose against the head of the fruit. The woman let out a small hum as she tried to decide if it was sweet enough. Though, in truth, Victoria had no idea what the man was really looking for.

"I think it smells sweet." She said softly as she brought the fruit forward to Alex's nose. "Do you think that is good enough?" Once they had found the perfect pineapple, Victoria followed the man to the checkout section and watched him pay for what they add bought. The woman let out a small hum as they packed everything into bags and then handed it to the both of them.

As they headed out of the shop, Victoria looked up to him. "Why didn't they send these home for us?" She asked as she looked down at the bags they had. "Do you always have to carry them around when you buy things?" Victoria found it odd that they had to carry their own groceries. "At home, we just use magic to send everything that we buy home so we don't have to carry it around... though I suppose you can't do that if you don't have magic, can you?"

They had to look at a few different pineapples, but it seemed like they had gotten lucky with the one they picked. It smelled sweet and slightly soft, surely it would be nice and sweet. Definitely, a good treat for them to have once they got home from their little shopping trip together.

Lowering his gaze, Alex couldn't help but arch an eyebrow as he listened to Victoria. "You just answered your own question you know," Alex said, a lightly teasing tone in his voice. "We don't have any sort of power or service to send our things home for us, so yes. We carry things we buy home. Unless it's clothing or an electronic, then you can ask them to send it to your house and it'll ship from the warehouse. That's how we got your clothing here so soon." He told her.

Then, Alex gently grabbed onto Victoria's hand and started to lead her towards their next destination. A little tea shop that was a few stores down. The street was surprisingly still packed, but not as much as it was earlier since a lot of people were at work at the moment. Then, once they got to the building, Alex let go of Victoria's hand and held the door open for her.

"Look for something called blooming tea," Alex said, as he glanced around them and saw all of the different teas that the store seemed to carry on the shelf.

Victoria nodded before heading into the store, immediately going to an employee. She was standing by a tea pot, and had little paper cups that were filled with tea. The princess took a deep breath in before a large smile came over her lips. "Ah, I know this." She said softly before leaning down to get a closer look in the cups. The employee smiled before handing Victoria a cup, which the Princess took hesitantly. "Can I drink this?" She asked, her head tilting a bit. She knew she couldn't do so at the other store so the woman was a bit confused.

Though, once the employee assured her that it was for drinking, Victoria took a small sip before humming softly. "That is delicious." She said warmly before finishing up the cup of tea. She then gave the woman a little wave goodbye before heading further into the store. There were rows and rows of tea boxes, all with different flavors and smells. The woman's eyes were wide as she looked around at all of it.

"There is so much here." She murmured to herself. The princess got lost in her thoughts for a moment before beginning to seriously look for the Blooming Tea that Alex had mentioned. It was not until she got to the back wall that Victoria found a box with the name on it. Not wanting to touch anything, Victoria went over to where Alex was, taking his hand into hers again before tugging at him gently. "I think I found it." She said as she pointed to the back wall.

For a few moments, Alex stood in one spot. Just watching Victoria, making sure that she didn't spill anything on accident before he went to explore the shop himself. The smells of the teas and the calming music that was being played overhead were so relaxing. Alex was pretty sure he could fall asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow after being in this store.

Raising his hand, Alex trailed his fingers over some of the fine tins of tea that were on display. So many different flavors and brands. Colors of varying shades and so much more. This was a store that Alex honestly thought he'd never wander into. Thinking that it was too girly, but honestly. It was a really interesting place and he'd love to be able to spend more time here as there seemed to be a vast variety of teas that seemed to catch his attention.

Glancing towards his side as a hand gently grasped his, Alex couldn't help but arch an eyebrow for a moment before looking towards where Victoria had pointed. "Great," Alex said, then offered for her to lead the way towards the tea.

The canisters of tea that lined the wall were all so interesting looking. Not to mention the names were all so eye-catching. Arabian Night, Petal Dance, Orange Cream, Those were just a few and boy did Alex want to try them all. "I think it's this one that we need," Alex said as he reached out and grabbed a can that was called One Night Stand, it was a black cherry tea that had a hint of vanilla in it. The description on the container said something along the words of the flower being able to only bloom once then you can't reuse it.

"Did you see any teas that caught your attention?" Alex asked Victoria as he looked at the lower shelves that held the teapots that were specifically for blooming teas. "We can get one or two to try and my place." Alex offered as he glanced up at Victoria as he kneeled down to get a better look at the tea kettles.

Victoria glanced around the shelves as Alex said that they could buy one or two to try once back at the house. She was quiet for a moment as she looked them over, but eventually, Victoria picked up two different tea cans. One smelled of chocolate and mint called Fresh Desires. The other she grabbed had more of a warm smell, being apples and cinnamon called Fall Fantasy. "How about these?"

Once they settled on which teas to bring back home, Victoria headed up to the counter with him. An older woman watched the two as they headed from the back of the store. Her eyes glancing over them for a moment before a large smile came along the woman's face. "Well, aren't you both just a cute couple." She said as she started to ring them up. "Have you been together long?"

"Thank you, Ma'am," Victoria responded. The smile on her face continued as she turned all of her attention to the elderly woman, clearly finding interest in her. "No, not very long." She responded back. Once Alex had paid, Victoria took the bag with the tea from the woman. As the older woman said goodbye and wished them a nice day, the princess gave her one more curious look before turning and making her way towards the exit.

"She seemed very friendly," Victoria said as she walked out of the store, looking into the bag of tea. Though after the door closed behind them, Victoria turned to Alex with a curious look on her face. "What is a couple?"

For some reason, Alex found it quite endearing to watch as Victoria looked over the teas. She was like a kid in a candy store, wanting to look at everything and find out what they all were. The thought of how happy looking around this shop must make her feel brought a small smile onto his lips as he followed the young woman towards the counter. She seemed quite pleased with her choices.

Glancing up at the older woman, Alex couldn't help but cough nervously. As she had the wrong idea. They weren't in any shape a couple, they barely knew each other. They were just two people who were looking to help send a young girl back to her realm.

"You don't have couples where you're from?" Alex asked in response to what Victoria had asked him. He had allowed for the older woman to think of the two as a couple as he didn't want to burst her bubble, plus it didn't seem to have affected Victoria very much because he thought she wanted them to be together, but. It seemed that the meaning of what the older woman was saying was going over her head. Which honestly didn't surprise him as she was from a different time and realm.

A small hum escaped from Alex as he glanced up at the sky as he thought. Trying to think of how to explain couples to someone. "Couples are." He paused, wondering how to make this seem less awkward, but couldn't really think of anything. "Two people who have chemical and physical interested in each other and are hanging out to see if they are compatible for romance and be intimate with each other." He told her, wondering if she'd accept that horrible answer that he really just pulled out of his head.

"Did you want to grab some lunch from somewhere while we're here or did you want to go look for more ingredients first?" Alex asked as he subconsciously grabbed Victoria's hand to pull her out of the way of a man who was jogging and not paying attention.

Some confusion moved over Victoria's face as Alex started to explain what a couple was. She thought his explanation was a little odd. However, Victoria was rather sure she understood what Alex was saying at the end. "Oh, so she thought we were engaged? Do you have that word?" Victoria thought for a moment before continuing. "Like two people who are in agreement to be wed but are not yet."

The woman let out a small sigh before looking down at her fingers. She had left three of her rings on after changing into her new Earth Outfit. Victoria was lucky enough that her language ring was working even with a language outside of her world. Though, there was nothing her and her magic could do when running into words that did not have an equal in her own language. All she could do was get an explanation from Alex.

As Alex took her hand again and pulled her out of the way, Victoria followed with ease. She did not think much of it, just allowing Alex to move her to where she needed to be. Victoria actually liked it when he was leading her anyways. Even though he was from this strange world, the princess felt safer and more confident with his help. Holding onto him also eased her worry of losing the man.

"Lunch would be lovely," Victoria said as she laced her fingers with his. "Plus, I am curious about restaurants here and Earth food." A large smile came across her lips. At least Victoria was enjoying learning more about this world. It was so different from her own. All of it was still so surreal to her and she was sure it would feel like a dream when she went back home.

"Do we have the word Engaged in our vocabulary?" Alex asked, glancing down at Victoria as he made sure that he heard the question correctly. "We do, that comes after a couple of dates for a while. They'll beside if they want to spend the rest of their lives together, or find other partners to see if they're a better fit." Silence followed after his little explanation, waiting to see if Victoria understood what he was saying. "Is that the same way things are done in your homeworld?"

Once Victoria said that she'd like to have something to eat, Alex nodded his head. His eyes looking around for a moment before spotting a dumpling shop that was down the street. Still holding onto Victoria's hand, he started to lead the young lady towards the restaurant. "What sort of delicacy's do you have where you're from?" Alex asked, wanting to keep the conversations going for them.

As they got to the restaurant, Alex grabbed the door and held it open for Victoria before walking in himself. He told the host that there was only two of them and followed him to a small booth. "Thank you." He told the host before sliding into one side of the booth, then motioned for Victoria to do the same thing.

"How are restaurants like where you're from? Did you get the chance to go to any, being a Princess and all you must have a lot of restrictions or something? Right?" Alex glanced at Victoria across the table for a moment before looking down at the menu at the list of types of dumplings that they sold here.

"Xiao long bao and guo tie, sound good. What sounds good to you?" Alex asked as he looked up towards Victoria as he waited to hear what she thought sounded good. "Want to get a few different things to share again? Dumplings tend to be quite light anyways." He suggested, wondering what Victoria wanted to do.

Slowly, Alex closed his menu and sat back in his seat in the booth. His gaze focused on Victoria. "So, I have a question." Alex started, only pausing as he waited to have the young girl across from him's full attention. "If things work out and we get to your world, what then?" He asked an eyebrow arching ever so slightly. "I mean, those people are sure to still be after you, right? We need to make sure we're prepared for anything. Those guys are dangerous."

"No, I don't think we have couples at all," Victoria said softly after a moment. "I do not understand how you find your soulmates. Though, at home, we use magic. Once someone is ready, they go to a love witch. She helps them find their soulmate. When you find them, you are engaged. During that time, you get to know them and such... engagements are long affairs. At least a few years, sometimes longer. Not everyone gets to use the love witches, however."

She held onto his hand a little tighter as Alex lead her towards a restaurant. Her eyes looked over it curiously, trying to take it all in. "Delicacies?" She said softly before letting out a hum. "I think that is something you will need to see for yourself. Our food is very different from what you have here, that is for certain. I am not sure I will be able to explain it well enough."

Once inside, Victoria followed Alex's actions and slid into the booth. A warm smile came over her lips as she leaned back into the seat. "This is so comfortable." She said before bouncing on her seat a bit with a laugh. "And it feels weird." Victoria let out a warm hum. "No, I can only go to restaurants that have private rooms with them, which are not many. So, sometimes, the cooks come up to the castle and create their dishes for us. Or someone will go down and order something to send up to us. I only have a small list of restaurants that I can sit down and eat at."

"I really don't know how to pronounce any of these words," Victoria said before turning the menu around towards Alex and pointing out a few things that she thought sounded interesting. The pork dumplings, the orange chicken dumplings, and the cream cheese wontons are what she showed him. "Though, I would really eat anything that you recommended."

Once that was settled, Victoria listened as Alex spoke. She let out a small sigh, her nose wrinkling a bit as she thought over what he was saying. "They are dangerous. I have a protection ring for you and I am hoping that you can get us to somewhere safe. I am scared that I will pass out once the traveling spell is done." The woman rubbed her forehead before continuing. "Once we make it to the city, we will be safe. And we will need to try to jump before they find out we left this place. Hopefully, there won't be more after us once we get there."

A small snort escaped from Alex, he couldn't help it. "I've eaten at restaurants like this most of my life." He started, looking at Victoria with amusement in his eyes. "And, I still don't have a clue how to say them. You can just point at the item on the menu if you don't want to try. Most of the time, if you're close the waiter or waitress will understand what you're saying and pronounce it for you." He explained, grinning a little bit as he saw what she was pointing at.

"Is there a way you can pinpoint where we'd be taken to once you use your spell? Or can you get an idea at least? That way, I can kinda have an idea of where I should take you if you pass out?" Alex leaned forward slightly and rested his elbows on the table, his attention on the young girl across from him. "Do you all, speak English where you're from?" He asked, feeling a little silly for asking her something like that, but it was an honest thing to want to know. He didn't want to go to this strange place and have no way to help Victoria if he can't speak to people.

As the waitress came over, Alex ordered the food for both of them and then asked for some simple teas for them to share to go along with the meal. Then, once they left, he looked back towards Victoria. "What else is there about your home should I know?" Alex asked as he sat up straight again, his eyes looking around the building for a moment more before looking to Victoria as she started to speak again.

"I have to imagine that I can pinpoint it to a certain degree but I really don't know. We still need to get the spell from the caster. Preferably, I could drop us on castle grounds but if not, then I will have to give you some idea on where we will be and where you should go." Victoria let out a small sigh. It was going to be difficult to get home, and it was going to be possibly dangerous, especially if she passed out. That was a real concern since she needed to increase her power by so much.

"I assume English is your language?" Victoria said as she looked back at him curiously. "We do not speak English. I do not believe there is any such language in my world." The woman lifted her hand up and pointed to one of the rings. "This ring translate every language into my own. I will have to give this to you before I open up the portal. I at least know some languages there and if I pass out, you will need it more than I." She dropped her hand back down. "It will be easy to get you your own ring once we arrive at the castle and maybe some others as well."

Once the waitress came over, Victoria leaned back into her seat and started to relax more. It was so strange that she didn't have to act all proper. That no one was watching her, that she didn't have a long list of responsibilities to take care of. As much as Victoria wanted to get back, it was nice to be able to unwind to a certain degree. "There is a lot that you should probably know before we go. There is much that is the same but also much that is different. The food is almost completely different. So, do not eat anything unless you're buying it from someone. I don't want you to accidentally poison yourself.... If you see anyone with many rings on, they probably know magic. It is best not to upset them." Victoria turned her head for a moment before looking back at him. "Do you have a pen and paper?"

Slowly, Alex's eyebrows started to furrow as he listened to Victoria. The things that were coming out of her mouth were interesting, yet unsettling at the same time. Only because of the fact that she didn't seem like she was confident enough to know exactly where they'd land once they make it back to her home world. "How long have you practiced magic?" He asked, keeping his gaze on her as he took a sip of his water.

"What do you mean by getting me other rings? An how many languages are there in your world? Er, Kingdom?" Alex asked once he was done drinking from his water glass. "Can these magic users use magic without rings or are the rings the things that hold all of the power?" Curiosity filled Alex as he asked his little questions, his attention focused on the girl that was in front of him. Then lowered as he fiddled with his pockets to see if he had anything on him that she could use to write.

It took him a moment, but Alex did manage to find a pen in his back pocket. It said his law office on it, so he probably forgot to put it back on his desk. "Here, just use a napkin to write on." Alex told Victoria as he handed her the pen and then sat back. His arms crossing slightly as he relaced a bit.

"What other kinds of rings would I need?" Alex asked as he glanced between Victoria and the pen as she wrote on the restaurant's napkin.

"I have been practicing magic since I was a child, but it is not that easy. There are many different types of magic in my world, and I am not an expert in all of them. Though, I am proficient in traveling magic so I might be able to land us right where we need to be, but I have never seen this spell before and it's rare for people to world jump. I don't know if I can pick where we want to end up or if there is a certain pinpoint locations to choose from." Victoria frowned a little bit at the thought. Preferably, they would land in the castle but who knew at this point.

Though as Alex asked his questions about the rings, a smile broke over her face and the woman let out a warm laugh. "Of course magic users can use magic without rings. It is just convenient to have some spells going at all times, without having to cast them because that takes energy." Victoria leaned over and pointed at the protection ring on his hand. "This ring is no longer using my power and energy because I took the time to set it up. It is now running by itself until it dies. At which point, it is just a ring or the magic user needs to recharge it."

Victoria leaned back as he pulled out a pen for her. She started to draw her country on the napkin, making sure to add all the important cities and landmarks. As she drew, she continued to speak. "There are many different languages in my world, and it is just easier to communicate when you have a language ring. And once you get to my home, there are a couple of rings that I would want you to have until you get sent back here. We would recharge your protection ring, get a language ring, a location finder and" Victoria let out a hum before continuing. "Maybe a ring of royal protection? Those aren't given very often... but it would stop most from giving you a hard time, which would be good since you probably won't know our customs."
