Listening to Victoria, Alex made sure to hang onto her every word. The last thing he needed right now was to screw them over in some way. Rather it was losing his rings, getting scammed or overall just being an idiot and forgetting that he had a damn map in his head. "I think we're all set to head to your world," Alex said as he tucked her coin purse into his backpack for safekeeping.

Making sure the bag was secure on his shoulder, Alex took one more glance around his apartment. He wasn't sure how time worked when traveling between worlds, but he sure as hell going to miss his apartment. His clients were sure to be pissed when they hear that their lawyer vanished as well. An oh god, his parents and brother were going to be terrified that he just up and left as well. He may have sent a message to his assistant to tell everyone that he was going on an extended vacation, but still. Maybe he should have seen everyone before he left?

Either way, it was too late now and Alex knew that they needed to leave before it got too late. "Let's get going." He said as he looked towards Victoria. "We don't know how time will work traveling to your world." He said and let out a small sigh as he took one more glance around his apartment before looking towards Victoria and giving her a small nod.

(YAY! NEW WORLD! NEW WORLD! :D)

With a nod, the princess took out one of the potions she had made before and drank the whole thing down. It took a few moments but soon, Victoria's whole body was glowing, unable to contain the new magic within her without it showing through. Victoria handed the spell to Alex, asking him to hold up the spell for her as she performed it. Once Alex did so, Alexandria lifted her hands up and started moving them in slow circular motion as she read the words off of the page, slowly but confidently. As she was in the middle of the spell, Victoria could feel her energy draining quickly. But, as she came to the end, the world around them disappeared in an instant and replaced with another.

As though in a blink of an eye, the apartment that Alex knew was gone and he was suddenly standing at the edge of a field, which looked into a large, busy city. Even from a distance, it was easy to see that this was nothing like New York. None of the buildings were nearly as tall as the skyscrapers. The tallest ones only went up to four floors. Though, while the buildings all seemed to be made out of wood and stone, most also grew larger with each floor up (that style but not so grim). Some buildings seemed to even be haphazardly placed, as some tilted over the roads, and others had floors that stuck out this way and that. Another strange thing is how each building was immaculate and almost seemed to shine lightly in the sun. There seemed to be much odd in the city but they were still too far away to see much more than that.

However, not far from the city, floating over a rather strange looking forest and the river was a large, floating castle. From afar, the odd thing about the forest was the colors of the trees. instead of the typical greens, the forest shown through in pinks, dark plum, and dark vibrant red. There were even a few white-colored threes throughout the view. The castle itself did not look overly stranged, it seemed to be something from an older time on earth, except for the fact that it was floating in the sky and there seemed to be strange winged beats flying around it. It was too far away to see exactly what they were, but they weren't the typical birds.

As for the dear princess of this land, she had fallen unconscious on the ground. The young woman was struggling in her breaths and she looked quite pale.

"Woah." Was the only thing that came to mind as Alex took in the surrounding area. The bright sky, the smells. Even the sight of the foliage and the buildings in the distance. They were all things that reminded the young man of a fairytale of some sort. Like it was all drawn up and animated with the latest tech. The flying creatures around the castle, the fact that there's a floating building. It was just so fascinating. Alex didn't know where to look first.

"You, live in this world?" Alex asked as he lowered his gaze towards where Victoria laid on the gound. The sight of the young woman on the ground caused all of the color to drain from his face, and a cold chill to run through his body. "Victoria!" Alex called out he rushed towards her and knelt next to the woman.

Reaching out, Alex felt her foreheat. She was starting to get a little warm, and her breathing didn't look too well to him. "Shit, you didn't tell me how to deal handle this," Alex mumbled as he slowly slid his hands under her legs and wrapped one of her arms around his shoulders as he picked her up. One hand supporting her legs, and the other wrapped around her waist. "You said you might faint, not that you might get sick from using so much magic. Damnit, we're going to have a conversation about this shit when you wake up."

As Alex spoke, he had started the slow treck towards the city that was sprawled out in the distance. Watching the weird flying creatures that were circling the castle now and again. "God I hope those things aren't dangerous." He mumbled to himself as he walked. Adjusting the weight of the Princess in his arms now and again.

Finally, after a while. Alex finally caught sight of a building that looked like a stable. Or rather, a farm from the looks of it. Walking along a now dirt path that trailed along with the fenced property. Alex took note of the strange plants that grew in the fields. Strange things that looked like bright blue orbs hanging from vines, and something red with specks of green on another plant on the ground. It was all weird to Alex, but then again. This was a different dimension. This was Victoria's home, not his. Looking towards the right, Alex caught sight of an older man as he tiled a field near the fence. "Ah, excuse me!" Alex called out towards the man. He glanced up towards Alex and slowly stood up straight as he noticed him, then looked towards Victoria.

"My friend isn't doing so well. Do you by have a horse I could borrow to help us get to town faster?" He called out, and the man seemed to debate on even continuing the conversation before Alex saw the man slowly nod and come towards the duo. His eyes narrowing as he took in the strange clothes that Alex was wearing and then towards the elegant woman in his arms. After looking at Victoria, the man's mouth turned into a thin line but didn't out right say anything as he motioned Alex to follow him to what could only be considered a small stable.

After some bartering, Alex managed to get them a decently trained horse that was to be held at the market the coming week for half of what Victoria had said. Alex made sure to thank the man before leaving with Victoria still in his arms, except now they were on a horse and on their way to the castle. The mere fact that they were on a horse at all was uncomfortable for Alex since he's never rode one before, but for Victoia. He was pretty sure he'd do anything at the moment for her.

Although, what he didn't notice though was the fact that the man had rushed into his home as soon as the two left. Doing some sort of magic to contact someone and informing them of where the two were heading.

The castle was quick to act when they heard the news that someone might have possibility seen Victoria. Though there was much worry spreading through the castle as the information on her condition spread. But, soon enough, a group of 15 soldiers were sent out to go collect the High Heiress from the man that was described. It sounded like it was an odd one, something that maybe they had not dealt with before. There was some argument that more men should be sent out, but surely 15 versus 1 would be enough? Besides, they were sending out their best men, so surely that would be enough.

It only took the men an hour before they were on the road in between the town and farmhouse. The magic users were able to transport them to the edge of town quickly once everyone was assembled. But, now it was a matter of waiting for the strange man to appear over the hills of the road. Though it was not long until they could see a man holding onto a woman from afar and the guards were quick to run full speed towards them both.

From Alex's perspective, he would see 15 men and women riding down the road, towards him. All of the members were wearing dark red fabric and leather, though there were three different outfits that were worn among them. One group had more leather covering their body, than fabric and their leather looked as tough and shiny as metal back in his world. Their armor even moved up to their necks in a high collar of sorts and they wore helmets. Another group had a mix of fabric and the strange-looking leather, though their leather was studded, giving it an almost bumpy rough look. The last among them had outfits that were more fabric than leather, as the leather only covered their vital organs but the fabric allowed them to move easier. But, unlike the other two groups, they seemed to glow warmly. All of them had an insignia of a crown somewhere on their armor.

Once they were close enough to Alex, one of the slightly glowing men was quick to throw a spell at Alex and Victoria. A light blue ball of magic flew from his fingertips and hit Alex in the chest. Though, the moment it was close to hitting Alex's chest, the ring of protection that Alex wore glowed bright and the spell rebounded off into the sky. Nonetheless, the men were soon standing in a formation on the road, holding stranged curved swords, glowing bows and arrows, and their hands out. "Stop! In the name of the law!" One of the larger men yelled out. "If you do not release the high heiress into our custody immediately than you will be seen as hostile towards the crown!"

"You know," Alex said quietly to himself as he looked at the road that was in front of them. "If you weren't unconscious right now, I'd say we'd be fine walking the whole way because this is extremely painful," Alex grumbled a bit more as he shifted a bit on the bare backed horse that he had bought for them. "Damn this hurts, how the hell do other guys do this? It's way easier for you women. You don't have to accommodate for anything." Alex continued, keeping himself occupied as he tried to remember what the man had told him to keep control of the horse.

A couple of quiet seconds pass as Alex finished his complaining, that some dark spots in the near distance caught his attention. "What the?" He mumbled quietly as he narrowed his eyes and watched as the appearance of the different clothed people came running to him. "Aw shit." Alex cursed as he slowed the trotting horse to a walk, before having it stop completely as the group of people near him.

Slowly, Alex raised his hands in defense, not wanting to get into trouble with them. "I-I mean to harm!" Alex called out and closed his eyes as well as s flinched as a spark of something blue flew towards him. Cracking his eyes open at the last second, Alex watched in surprise as the magic spell bounced off of him and flew up into the sky. He was in complete awe as he forgot that he had that protection spell on.

Only when one of the guards started to speak once more did Alex remember that he was in the presence of the soldiers and looked towards them once more. "Okay, okay. I mean no harm." Alex said quietly as he raised his hands once more to show he meant no harm. Although, with being surrounded and with a inexperienced rider, the horse that Alex and Victoria were riding suddently started to get frightened. It backed up a couple of fo steps, then started to claw at the gound in agitation. "W-Woah, c-calm down." Alex tried to talk calmly to the larger beast, but it was having none of it because suddenly. The horse was on it's two back legs, sending Victoria and Alex off of it's back.

Acting on instinct, Alex circled his arms around Victoria, his hands under her head to make sure that she didn't get hurt more than she already was. Then, he rolled them as soon as they were on the gound away from the horse. Alex could hear the horse neighing and then the sound of its hooves as it ran in whatever direction that it decided to run. Then, a couple of moments of silence past before he raised his head and looked around. Even more dread starting to fill Alex's gut as he had those sharp looking weird swords pointing towards his face. "Under the order of the Royal Army, you are hereby under arrest." One of them said before Alex felt himself being forced to his feet, his arms being pulled behind his back and some sort of magical cuffs being put on them.

A grunt of pain emitted from Alex's closed lips as he felt a sharp shooting of pain from his cuffs like electricity when he tried to see how tight they were. Damn magical cuffs weren't a light matter it would seam. Then, Alex watched over his shoulder as a couple of the other guards carefully picked up Victoria before they all started to march towards what looks like another portal of some sort.

    -One Week Later-

It seemed that Victoria had been struggling to open her eyes for the last hour. Everything felt so heavy. Her eyes, her head, her arms, everything. Something was wrong with her, there was no doubt in her mind of that. But what was it? What was wrong with her? Besides the impossible challenge that she was facing to wake up, she could feel it in her bones.

Though some time passed by, Victoria was finally able to open her eyes. Everything seemed blurry for a few moments as her eyes adjusted. But, with some time, she could see that she was tucked away safely in her room. Tears of relief started to slide down her cheeks. Though, as she forced her head up slightly, Victoria let out a dry, achy sigh as she glanced around, barely able to move her head as she did so. It seemed that it was mostly the way she had left it, with a few exceptions. There was a stronger sense of magic in this room than before, one being the large pink bubble that encompassed her bed. But Victoria only needed to wait a few moments before she was given confirmation of what it was.

A healer threw the door opened to Victoria's room and rushed over to her body. "Oh thank the Skies!" He exclaimed out before running out of the room and calling to a guard to give the news to the King and Queen. The man then hurried back in and started to murmur some spells under his breath over her body. The bubble around Victoria seemed to grow stronger and darker in hue. But, within a few minutes, Victoria felt a release from the heaviness that she had felt before. It was much easier to move her body again. But there were some things that magic would not fix for her instantly, her hungry body, her dry thirsty throat and the weakness that sat in her bones. "Oh long have I been here?" Victoria managed to croak out.

"A week, high heiress." The healer said respectfully before helping Victoria drink some water. Though, after a few moments, Victoria pulled away, her voice still a little harsh but not as much with some drink. "Where is Alex?"

"Who?" The healer said. Though, before Victoria could continue, her parents rushed into the room and engulfed her in their arms. The few tears that came before soon grew at seeing her parents, being able to hold them again. But, it was a happy but quick reunion, as Victoria felt insistent to know where Alex was. "Where is Alex?"

There was some confusion between herself and her parents as to who Alex was. But after some explanation and insistence, it all started to fall into place. It seemed that the guards has seen Alex as an enemy of the crown, but those involved had been determined to wait for Victoria to awake before taking further action against him. Though Victoria was livid when she heard that he had been left in the dungeons.

The Queen was quick to call for a guard to get Alex and bring him up to Victoria's room once Victoria started demanding to see him.

Sitting across from Alex was an older man with his two top front teeth missing. The man's right eye was also glossy like he was blind, but he insisted that he was completely fine and could see. How that was possible though, Alex didn't know. Nor did he believe the man because for the past week the old man told him the same story with three different endings. Plus, he kept talking about how he was sure his mom was going to pick him up on Sunday. The man was most likely in his eighties and Alex wasn't sure how to break it to the older man that he wasn't in school. He was in jail, for attempting to assassinate the royal family supposedly.

The sound of the door to the dungeon opened and Alex lifted his head as he looked to see who was coming. The familiar clanking of the guard's uniforms caught Alex's attention, meaning that there were at least two or three of them. Which indicated that something was happening and that it wasn't time to get fed.

"Alex." One of the guards said as he stopped in front of Alex's cell. "Yes, sir?" He asked, trying to remain respectful as he stood up from the bench he was sitting on and acted as his bed for the past couple of days.

The guard seemed to eye Alex up and down, then stood up straighter and tried to seem more intimidating as he took in the foreigner's appearance. "You have been summoned." The guard said simply as he opened the iron door and indicated that he should get out.

"Have a good day Sam," Alex said to the old man who was staring at the ceiling as Alex exited his and allowed for the guards to cuff him for security before being led where ever they intended for him to go.

A small sense of dread filled the pit of Alex's stomach. He hadn't heard from Victoria for about a week. He didn't know if she had survived coming here if the fall from the horse had hurt her more. Nothing, he wasn't told anything. The guards led Alex up a couple of stairs and down multiple halls, reminding Alex that this was a castle. With its grand size, and beautiful art lining the walls.

As they turned yet another hall, Alex could feel his heartbeat pick up. Victoria, he could faintly pick up her voice. Sucking his lower lips between his teeth, Alex felt a sense of anxiousness filling him as he walked. It's been forever since they've seen each other. Would she even recognize him? He was a little scruffy since he couldn't shave.

Entering the room that Victoria's voice was coming from, Alex stopped his spot as he saw her laying on the bed. Not even realizing the other people who were in the room with them because it felt like the world had stopped, because she was alive. Victoria was alive. "You're alive." Alex breathed out quietly, as well as exhaling a breath that he wasn't aware that he had been holding in til now.

Ignoring the world that was around him, Alex moved towards Victoria. Wanting to be close to her, but the guards held him back. "Respect the royal family." The guard said quietly as he was pushed to face the King and the Queen. An for the first time since he's gotten there, Alex realized that the other royals were there. "O-Oh, uh," Alex mumbled, forgetting how he was supposed to address them when he met them for the first time. "I-It's a pleasure to meet you, your graces." Alex glanced towards Victoria for some help before turning towards the King and Queen once more and bowed quickly, not sure what else he was to say to them.

Victoria's eyes lit up for a moment as Alex walked into the room. She shifted in the bed slightly, wanting to move towards Alex. Though her father was quick to press a hand against her shoulder and gently kept her lying in the bed. A bit of a frown moved over her face as she looked to him, but slowly started to lean back and relax her aching body. But she did look to her mother expectedly as the guards held Alex back.

The Queen gave a nod to her daughter before turning her attention to the guards and the strange-looking man that they were holding back. "You may release him and head back to your postings."

With her orders, the guards let go of Alex before making a quick motion with their hands towards the woman. "May your light shine forever bright, Protectress." The three men then turned and headed out of the room. With their leave, the Queen's full attention was on Alex. She seemed uncertain as she looked him over. "So, this is...Alex then?"

The King, on the other hand, was smiling widely up at him. The man moved onto his feet and walked over to Alex, dropping a hand onto his shoulder rather hard. "Let's not try to scare the man, my darling. He protected our light and then proceeded to spend a week in the dungeon." He said as he walked Alex further into the room. The Queen seemed unconvinced but turned her attention back to Victoria, gently brushing some of her hair back.

Though Victoria's attention was solely on Alex, reaching her hand out to him, wanting him to come closer, to be able to hug him. A deep frown laid on her face and she was looking over him worriedly. "I am really sorry, Alex." Victoria managed to croak out, still having some difficulty speaking. "I promised I would protect you here and I already failed." The bubble around Victoria moved as she did, stretching out as she reached her own hand out to him. The Queen's hand, however, moved through the pink surface when she brushed her hair.

This has got to be one of the most awkward meet the parents meeting that Alex has ever lived through. Should he bow to them once more? Should he repeat that strange saying to them as well or something? How did all of that go again anyways? Something, something light? Spirit? Alex was drawing a complete blank, to be honest, so when the man who was Victoria's father pushed him lightly towards Victoria a small sense of relief washed over him as he moved.

Seeing Victoria laying in bed caused a small frown to appear on his lips and he couldn't help but feel guilt wash through his veins as he took in the sight. She looked so tired, so in pain even though she was awake.

Once he reached her, Alex didn't care that her parents were in the room watching him. He reached out for her hand and held it lightly as he wrapped his fingers around her soft skin. "Hey, no stop that," Alex said quietly as he kneeled at the side of the bed next to her. Not feeling comfortable sitting on it next to her in case her parents saw that as inappropriate or something. He was doing everything to seem respectful to Victoria and her parents even though he wanted nothing more than to wrap her up in a tight hug.

"I'm fine, I'm not hurt. I promise." Alex's words were soft. "I'm the one who should be apologizing. I didn't protect you well enough when we got here. You fainted because of me, you fell off a horse because I lost control of it. I'm sorry about that." Alex said quietly, not thinking about it as he raised her hand and lightly pressed a kiss to the back of Victoria's hand as he finished speaking to her.

"I'm sorry Victoria. I'm really, really sorry." He said quietly as he looked up to her beautiful eyes.

As Alex reached to take Victoria's hand, the bubble around her wrapped around a portion of his arm as well. The air inside the bubble felt much cooler than what was on the outside of it. Though the bubble itself didn't feel like anything against his skin. Victoria grabbed onto his hand tightly as she watched him kneel down at the side of the bed. She could feel the tears beginning to well up in her eyes. Victoria did feel terrible about not taking care of Alex.

Victoria started to grow a bit antsy now that Alex was close. She wanted to just launch herself at him but she also wanted to hear what he had to say. It was important that she hear what he said. Though as Alex started to blame himself for everything that had gone wrong, she shook her head quickly at him though as much as she wanted to immediately disagree, she was having a hard time speaking. Her hand squeezed his harder as he pressed a kiss against the back of it. But the moment Alex actually started to say 'I'm sorry' tears started to run down her cheeks.

Immediately after, the princess basically threw herself at Alex as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders as tight as she could. Which wasn't very tight. Her face buried into the side of his neck and her fingers held onto the back of his shirt tightly. The bubble around her wrapped around Alex's top half so that he was completely inside of it.

"No, no no no no." Victoria whimpered into him. "It's not your fault. None of it. And I didn't faint because of you. You didn't do anything wrong. I should have been there for you. You shouldn't have been in the dungeon." Victoria started to cry harder into him. She knew what could have happened if they decided to give Alex a trial. He probably would have been executed for kidnapping. "It's my fault. I'm sorry, it's my fault."

As soon as Victoria launched herself at him, Alex was wrapping his arms around her waist. He didn't care that her parents, the king, and queen were in the room. That she was a Princess here and this was probably inappropriate, or the fact that he was kinda dirty from being in the freaking dungeon for a little over a week or something. All that mattered, was that Victoria was safe and that they were both alive in this strange world that they were thrown into.

After a couple of moments of hugging Victoria. His head resting on her shoulder and rubbing soothing circles on her back, Alex pulled away slightly. He kept one hand on her waist as his other hand went to lightly touch the right side of her head. His dark eyes looking over her face, ignoring her red and puffy eyes from crying. "You're pale." He murmured, examining what he's missed since he's been separated from her. "Have you been eating? How's your head?"

Worry was written all over Alex's face as he examined Victoria and waited for answers. She was making him nervous, being surrounded by the bubble. "What is this?" He asked quietly, letting his eyes look around the room before looking at the bubble that was now encasing half of his body and Victoria. "Is it some kind of healing mechanism?" He asked quietly as he looked back to Victoria, his hand still on her face slowly pulling back to hold onto her hand once more instead.

Victoria clung onto Alex, not wanting to let go at first. Though as he held her close and gently rubbed her back, Victoria slowly started to calm down. By the time he pulled away, she had stopped crying. Even though she was still upset and ill, she was beginning to feel a bit better. Knowing that Alex was okay and that she could not take care of him like she promised made Victoia feel better. She was going to be there for him now like he had been there for her.

Her head lifted up to look at Alex as he laid a gently pressed his fingers against the right side of her head. Victoria offered him a weak smile as Alex mentioned her paleness. "I'm still recovering from the spell. It took a lot more out of me than I thought it would. I only woke up a little less than an hour ago. But now that I awake, I'll be able to heal quicker and use some magic to feel better." Victoria offered a little smile. "I'll be better by tomorrow, I think. And my head is fine though there is a small bump on it."

The King pipped in, not wanting Victoria to speak too much with how her throat was. "She hasn't properly eaten since she got here. But something is being made for her now." He smiled lightly at Alex, rather pleased with how the meeting was going. The Queen, on the other hand, seemed uneasy with it. Though with a glance from her husband, she started to explain the bubble, making a motion to it as she did so. "It's been monitoring her, and just keeping her stable. Unfortunately, she hasn't been healed past that. We couldn't tell what was wrong with her and mixing magic can prove dangerous. Especially when you don't know the cause of their current condition."

The Queen looked to Victoria for a long moment before standing up. "The healers will be up soon. So we will leave you to their care to not get in their way. Though I will visit you after dinner." The Queen bent down and pressed a light kiss to her forehead before turning to Alex.

"As for you, you may stay in here until the healers enter. Then it is best that you leave Victoria for the day to be healed and to rest." The Queen glanced at her daughter before she continued. "You will be brought to your room once you leave and you may ask the servants for whatever you need. Though I must ask that you stay in your room today. Victoria has told us your story and it is best that it remains a secret, and that you aren't left without an escort. Victoria has insisted that she be that for you but she won't be able to leave her room until tomorrow morning." Once it seemed everyone agreed and understood what the Queen was saying, she and the King headed out.

Watching as the King and the Queen left, Alex waited for the door to close before a small sigh escaped past his lips. His head handing low slightly as he felt like a weight had just been lifted off of his shoulders. "Your mother is quite intimidating," Alex said calmly as he raised his head and offered Victoria a small smile. "Your father, on the other hand, seems like he likes me already."

Moving so that he could sit on the edge of the bed, Alex made sure to keep one of Victoria's hands in his own. "I'm glad you woke up. I was terrified that it was a bad idea to come back here." Alex confessed, rubbing the back of her hand lightly with one of his. "Thank you for waking up, Victoria."

There was a knock on the door before Alex could say more. His dark eyes looked towards the floor like a couple of people came into the room. They were dressed in what looked like white cloaks with some sort of silver insignia on it. Both of the people looked quite old and wise as well since both had greying hair and one seemed to limp and use a cane. "I uh, take that as my cue to leave," Alex said quietly as he glanced towards Victoria once more before standing up.

As he made his way towards the door Alex nodded politely towards the two older men before exiting the room. As the queen said, there was a room waiting for him once he left Victoria's side for the evening. It was quite large and spacious, and the two large windows on the far side of the room gave him quite a nice view. To the right of the room, was a large queen-sized looking bed. Beautiful red and black sheets covered it and had matching pillows. A nightstand on each side of the bed, and some candles for light.

Looking towards the left side of the room were two doors. The one closest to the large windows turned out to be a closet that was stocked with a few clothing items. The other door on the left side turned out to be a bathroom. It was nicely sized. With a toilet on the right side. In front of the door was a nice sized counter with a mirror hanging above it. An then to the left was a clawfoot tub that looked like it could fit at least four grown people into it.

"Well, I think I know what I'm going to do," Alex mumbled to himself as he got the tub ready to take a nice long bath before settling in for the night. After all, he was locked in a dungeon for a while and was pretty sure that he smelled the part.

The moment Alex was gone, the healers started to get to work, ensuring to do everything they could to get Victoria back to full health. They were lucky enough to figure out the root of the problem and reverse it. Even enough so that the bubble was removed around the princess. The rest of the day had been relevantly quiet in the castle outside of the murmurings that the Princess was now truly alive and awake. The night went by without any issue and things were beginning to calm down again now that the heir was back and in better condition.

Once the sun had risen and the world was bright once again, Victoria was woken by a knock at her door. Slowly, her eyes opened as one of her ladies in waiting came in like a bird shooting through the air straight at the princess. The young woman was quick to enwrap Victoria in a tight hug, screaming in joy as she did so. Victoria let out a warm laugh before she wrapped her arms around her as well, hugging her close as they reunited.

Slowly, Victoria pulled back to look up at Poppy. She was quite beautiful, flowing red hair, bright green eyes and freckles adorned her. She also has cute, pinchable cheeks and a sharp nose. But Victoria immediately noticed how tired the young lady looked, and Victoria couldn't help but worry that her disappearance had contributed to it. But, before Victoria could really get into it, Poppy was pulling away and talking about how important it was to make Victoria look amazing today since she was finally back home and all eyes would be on her.

A while later, Victoria was walking out of her bedroom wearing a long ballgown dress. Though there was something special about this dress that would never be found on earth. The colors on it were slowly shifting and moving along the dress like they were floating gently in the water. Her hair was also a bit mystical, being curled perfectly and seemingly shining whenever the light hit it, though what really gave the princess an ethereal look was the crown on her head. It didn't even touch her hair as it was small balls of light that formed a circle on her head, gently floating above her.

As Victoria arrived to Alex's door, she glanced back at Poppy with a warm smile and motioned her to stand a bit back. Once her lady had down so, Victoria turned and knocked on the door before calling out softly. "Alex? Are you awake?"

Waking up in this world is still strange to Alex. He couldn't believe that just the other day he was home, then he was in a dungeon under a castle. And then now, he was in a bedroom that looked like it was a historical piece. With the chandelier hanging from the ceiling with little lights on the ends. If Alex hadn't actually paid close attention, he would have thought that the ends were candles, but they weren't. They were just glowing lights that turned on and off whenever someone walked into the bedroom. It was insane, really insane.

Earlier that morning, a servant came to his room and handed Alex a suit. At first, he was confused on the occasion, but the servant didn't really say anything. He just left after giving him the suit. Which, was kinda rude, but Alex got it. He was an outsider, who they thought had kidnapped the Princess for the past week. Of course, the people here would still be a little nervous about him being here.

Snapping out of his thoughts at the sound of a knock, Alex glanced over his shoulder. He half expected someone to just walk in after knocking. So, when he heard Victoria's voice, confusion started to fill him. "Victoria?" Alex mumbled quietly, a little worried. Stepping out of the bathroom, the tie he was about to tie in his hand, and made his way over to the door. "What are you doing?" Was the first thing that escaped from his lips when he opened the door. "Shouldn't you be resting still?" His eyes narrowed a little in worry before he looked down and tilted his head in slight confusion. "Is your dress, moving?" He murmured in confusion, blinking after a couple of moments as he realized he was staring at her body and quickly looked up into her face. Although he couldn't help but blink in confusion at her crown.

"I don't think I'm going to get used to this anytime soon," Alex mumbled, his head shaking a little bit. It was only then that Alex noticed the servant that was behind Victoria, watching the two. "Oh, uh. Hi?" Alex said, doing his best to offer the young girl a small smile. Then he looked back towards Victoria. "Is there a reason that we're dressed up?" He asked as he put the tie around his neck and started to tie it expertly without needing to look in the mirror.

(I had no idea you replied to this one! D: My fingers have been itching to reply to it. Lmao.)

A warm smile came over Victoria's face as she listened to Alex's words. She was not surprised that much of this was confusing him but, in all honesty, it was rather cute. It was now no surprise as to how she had endeared herself to him. Watching her confusion about everything alone must have been enough. "Good morning to you as well Duca Alex." Unlike yesterday, Victoria's voice was much clearer and back to normal. Reaching down, Victoria took the tie from his hands and wrapped it around his neck, before dropping it, knowing better than to actually tie his tie for him.

"I am coming here to see how you are doing and to ask if you would spend the day with me. Perhaps I should still be resting but it is important that I am seen alive and well. I have gone for much too long and my people need to know that there is no reason to worry. Though we can take it slow today if that would make you feel better." Victoria told him, her voice gentle. "The healers have done all they can and managed to reverse most of the effects. I promise I feel well enough to walk around for a while."

Still, a smile of amusement over her face. "My dress is moving," Victoria confirmed before continuing on, a little laugh leaving her before she did so. "I am a princess, how else would I dress?" She asked him with a bit of a smirk on her face. "And you are wearing something that is befitting for the castle as well as spending the day with me. I am afraid that you will have to get used to our clothes as they are not so....similar to what you usually wear"

With all of that said, Victoria motioned Poppy to step forward. "This is my lady in waiting, Poppy. She won't be joining us today as I have a few responsibilities for her." Poppy seemed displeased with Victoria's answer but didn't make a fuss. Instead, nodding to the princess before offering a soft smile but slight suspicion in her eyes.

Victoria looked to Poppy and offered a gentle smile. "We will have dinner once you are back. But please don't rush, this is important to me." Victoria told her before setting her hand against Poppy's. Gold script started to glide from her fingers and settle down into Poppy's hands. It just looked like a mess of letters to Alex. Poppy glanced down at the words before smiling softly and nodding to Victoria. "I will take my time."

With that, Victoria turned to Alex. "I just wanted you to meet her before she had to leave me for the day. Poppy will be another friendly face." Victoria nodded to Poppy. "Be kind to my friend. He is the only reason I was able to return home." Poppy's eyes started to widen a bit in surprise before nodding once again. "Yes, of course." She said before looking to Alex curiously.

Just talking to Victoria for a couple of moments was enough to cause Alex's head to spin. He wasn't so sure how she managed to deal with his world so well when everything here was almost completely moving. Magic, moving dresses, and tiara's made of light? Had Alex not been able to see all of this stuff with his own eyes, he would have told the person that they had quite the imagination. That floating castles and magic didn't exist in the real world. That it belonged on pages of books or in movies instead.

Glancing towards the girl behind Victoria, Alex offered a small smile. Poppy, seemed quite close and protective of Victoria. It brought a small smile to his lips. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Poppy," Alex said quietly, offering a hand to shake. Glancing towards Victoria, silently asking if he was supposed to do anything else to greet her lady in waiting.

Once introductions were over, Alex reverted to Victoria's earlier question. "You want to go walk the village?" He asked, making sure that he had heard her correctly. An eyebrow arching at the idea. His hand moved to finish tying the tie that was around his neck. "As long as you feel up to it, I'm in. Just tell me if you're feeling tired though, I don't want you pushing yourself and fainting again." Alex told her, his lips pursing into a thin line as he remembered how panicked he was when she wouldn't open her eyes when they came back here.

"I don't think my back would be able to handle sleeping on a piece of wood for another night," Alex added on, hoping that she got his bit of teasing about being locked in the dungeon the whole time she was asleep, healing. "Where did you want to go?" He asked, his hands casually slipping into the front pockets of his pants. Ready to follow the Princess to where ever she decided to take him. She knew this place, after all, he didn't. So, Alex would just take his position of a little duckling and follow the Princess around. Ready to explore the village, or castle, or whatever they were to do.

Poppy glanced down at Alex's hand in confusion once he held it out to her. She then looked up to the princess, as though asking her what to do. Instead of saying anything, Victoria lightly took Alex's hand and pushed it down so he would put it back to his side. Turning to her lady, Victoria offered a gentle smile. "He is not from around here," She explained. "Now, please get going. I want you back here before dinner." Poppy did the strange hand movements to Victoria and spoke their typical goodbye to her before she headed on her way.

With the lady gone, Victoria turned her full attention to Alex. She let go of his hand, offering a gentle smile as she did so. "We don't do the... the hand thing that you do. It will take some getting used to for you to be here but I'll be by your side." Victoria smiled brighter at the thought. She was excited to have Alex see her world, to show him around so he truly understood where she had come from. Plus she thought he would find it interesting.

"And, no, not to the town. I won't pretend like I feel up to that yet and I do not think my parents will be comfortable with me leaving today. From my understanding, they are talking about increasing my security. Plus they are still trying to figure out who was trying to kidnap me." Victoria let out a small sigh. Though her smile came back and she shook her head at him a bit. "I won't faint and even if I did, they aren't going to put you back in prison!"

"We will walk around the castle today and outside in the gardens. The nobles and servants will see me and know I am back and better. And word will travel fast to town. That will have to do in the meantime. Plus we will swing by the dining room to get breakfast." Victoria motioned for Alex to start following her. "Now I need you to stay in pace with me. You're my guest so you'll walk beside me on my left. Try to keep an even pace with me but do not walk in front of me because that is disrespectful. We wouldn't want someone to snap at you about manners." With that, Victoria started to walk. "Anyways, there is so much I want to show you. I am so excited for you to see where I live."

A deep feeling of awkwardness was settling into Alex's bones as he listened to Victoria. All of the things she was explaining, and the different culture. It was a huge surprise to him He really had no idea what to make of any of it. Like, he was back in college and forgot his textbook and was behind a couple of chapters. , this must be like what Victoria felt like when she came to his realm. Lost, and confused, a new understanding of Victoria was developing. She was such a strong and smart girl, she always seemed to impress him.

As Victoria started to walk, Alex listened and moved to walk beside her. Doing as she had said, walking besides her. Not in front nor behind her. His shoulders were held straight as he tried to seem like he knew what he was supposed to be doing. "You know." Alex started as he walked with Victoria down the halls of the castle. "You showed me how to greet your parents, as well as other nobles, yet. You didn't show me how to introduce myself to someone who isn't." He stopped himself, not wanting to call someone a servant. It wasn't a word that was really used back in new york or anyone really in the states. Well, not unless they were the upper class. Even then, the people were often referred to by name and still greeted each other by shaking hands.

Raising his gaze once more to take in the whole appearance of the place a thought entered his mind. "When you were younger, what did you think? About being a princess? About living here?" Alex asked glancing at Victoria through the corner of his eye. Watching for any sort of reaction that she would offer him as his question sank into her.

"I didn't say anything at the time for two reasons. The first was I didn't want to give you too much information. There was already so much you needed to learn and remember just in case something happened," Victoria drifted her eyes down. "Everything was so overwhelming when I went to your world and I knew you would feel the same once you came here. Especially so as there are more expectations for you here. It was more important to me that you knew how to address the nobles as they would cause a fuss if you did it wrong. The civilians might have found you odd but they are more relaxed on certain manners."

Victoria let out a small sigh before continuing on. "The other issue is that I do not know how you should greet them. You are not a noble or royalty. However, you will not be a commoner quite either. I haven't put you under my protection yet but once I do, that changes things. It raises your status and even causes the nobles to keep their mouths closed for most of the mistakes you'll make to not offend me... I still need to put that on you."

"Anyways, I will ask my etiquette teacher. I am sure she will know." Victoria glanced back up at Alex, offering a warm smile. "Do you mean when I was a child?" Victoria asked lightly before continuing on. "I have gone through a range of feelings about it as I grew older. But I remember feeling like I was special when I was young. I couldn't quite explain why that was, I was told that I was the heir but when you're a child you don't understand what that really means. I just knew that it felt like everything circled around me. It felt like I was the sun. But even with that, there were times I felt like life was horribly unfair. The rules were more strict for me. I had to be better behaved than everyone else, and work harder than them. There are certain things that I needed to be the model of perfection even if I hated it. I couldn't understand why I was forced to do things my friends weren't. Why I wasn't always allowed to play with them or go to every party they held. I appreciate that they did it now but when I was a child it didn't make sense. It is confusing as a child to be treated like you mean everything but also stopped from doing so much."

As they walked up to two rather large doors, Victoria grabbed lightly onto Alex's arm to stop him from continuing forward as she did the same. She lightly pulled him to the side of the hallway. "I should have done this earlier but I better do it now before we head inside. There are sure to be plenty of people in the dining room." With that said, Victoria reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck very loosely, keeping distance between their bodies. Her fingers pressed into the back of his neck and Victoria dropped her head down, closing her eyes as she started to mumble some words under her breath. Alex could feel a hard pinch at the back of his neck but soon a golden stream of magic flowed over his shoulders and balled up together in the middle of his chest. As the stream stopped, the golden light started to float off of him, assembling into two shapes, one was the shape of the crown with the sun in it and the other formed into a triangle with three parallel curved lines going through it. Once she was down, Victoria let out a small tired breath before stepping back.

The two golden symbols started to float slowly and aimlessly around Alex. "There. Now everyone will know you're under my protection. And if you think about it hard enough, you should be able to move the symbols to where you want and even get them to light up."
