As they walked down the halls together, Alex was completely quiet. Absorbing everything that Victoria said like a sponge. His head nodding ever so slightly as a way to show that he was paying attention to her. Pure interest in his eyes as he glanced down at the slightly shorter woman. Everything that escaped from her lips was new to him. Never had he dreamt of meeting someone who was an actual Princess and lived in an actual Castle. Much less one that was filled with magic and could do magic just as easily.

As Victoria spoke of her childhood, a small hum escaped from Alex. His head nodding ever so slightly. It was understandable, what she was saying about loving it and also feeling like it was unfair. He could see how it could weigh a person down. Having to always push themselves to be greater and perfect in everything that they did.

As they reached the large double doors, Alex opened his mouth to ask another question but stopped as Victoria pulled him aside. A look of confusion appearing on his face as he looked down at her. His lips parting as his eyes widened. He wasn't sure what Victoria was doing. Sure, she was quite a beautiful young lady, but. He wasn't sure he felt the same way about her. Sure, her eyes were quite nice to look at, and she had an amazing body not to mention their personalities were almost the same which meant that conversation flowed smoothly between them, but. He wasn't really looking for a relationship. He was still dealing with his bad break-up not to mention he was going to be going home soon. To his realm, his plane of existence.

A twinge of pain at the back of his neck snapped Alex out of his thoughts. His dark eyes blinked in confusion and then watched as Victoria slowly moved away from him. His right hand instinctively going to the back of his neck as Victoria started to explain what she had just done to him. "So, I'm like a Christmas tree." He murmured as he glanced up and around himself as he looked at all of the random letters and strange symbols floating around him. "This spell makes me feel like I have little fairies floating around me." Alex murmured, thinking about the old folk tales his grandfather used to tell him.

Pursing his lips together, Alex glanced down towards Victoria once he had enough of examining his new protection spell. "Let's get you something to eat before you faint from exhaustion." Alex murmured as he looked over the Princess. His lips moving into a frown as he saw how much it took out of her. "You know, you didn't need to do that right now. I'm with you right now, so I dought someone would something at me from across the dining hall." Alex offered Victoria a worried look. "I am grateful for it though, thank you." Sometimes Alex worried that Victoria was going to overdo herself. He didn't want a repeat of what had happaned when they had gotten here.

Once they started towards the double doors once more, Alex stopped walking and turned towards Victoria. "How about an ambassador?" Alex asked, glancing towards Victoria. "Why don't you name the ambassador of the Earth realm? That shouldn't be a title that needs to be noble or commoner, right? Just someone different." Alex waited for Victoria's answer before opening the door for her like the Earthen gentleman that he was. Ignoring the sound dying as they entered and followed Victoria as she walked to where ever it was they were to sit and eat.

"I do not know what a...a chr-istm-as tree is," Victoria told him, her head tilting a bit to the side as she had said the word Christmas slowly. Though as he mentioned faires, a little smile came along her lips. She knew what those were. "They look nothing like fairies." Victoria teased gently.

Though her smile dropped as Alex started to look at her with concern on his face. He wasn't exactly wrong... but it wasn't like she was going to collapse. "I am not going to faint," Victoria reassured Alex. Though even as she said that glanced towards the dining room with tired eyes. "I needed to do it now just in case you lost me. And they would have said something if you had done something that seemed disrespectful towards me."

With that, they headed towards the double doors. Though as he mentioned becoming an ambassador, Victoria went tense and she looked straight at him. "Please tell me you haven't said anything about Earth." She whispered to him in a hurry. "Knowing about other worlds will be a large enough situation to handle, but people having the knowledge that they exist and we can travel back and forth. Not to mention that you are here is a matter on a whole other scale. That is not just something that will affect our country but this world. It will affect worlds." Alexandria started to rub the side of her head. "My parents haven't even told their advisors yet. It is not something we can keep a secret forever but it needs to be handled delicately. Especially as we have no idea what being able to contact this world will bring unto us and vice versa. So, no, I can't name you the ambassador of Earth. Please, I request that you keep this a secret until a plan can be made."

Victoria hesitated for a moment before continuing on. "But perhaps a title for you is not a bad idea. I just need to think of something appropriate." Though as Alex started to open the doors, Victoria immediately dropped her head and straightened up. A light smile coming along her face as she moved gracefully into the room, ignoring any exhaustion or pain that was shifting through her.

As she entered, the dining room died down. It had been a while since anyone had seen the princess and they knew of her disappearance. Quite frankly, they found it amazing that she was alive and well. They smiled up at her, joyous for her return though as she walked past them, whispers moved through the hallways as they all tried to figure out what exactly happened. Where did she go? Was she kidnapped? Lost? How did she get back and who was that man walking beside her? And what happened to the princess when she was gone. There were many in the dining room, from servants to guards up to advisors and nobles.

Though Victoria walked past them all and sat at the table at the end of the hall that was elevated above the rest. She sat down in her seat and motioned for Alex to sit at her right. The moment they sat, food appeared in front of them.

If Alex took the time to look around, he would be able to see the beauty of the dining room. Ceiling to floor windows on both sides. The windows glowed lightly with magic but did not block the sight of the sky and gardens on each side. As for the ceiling, one couldn't even see the stone that covered them as it was covered with different plants that hung down. Little droplets of sunlight (magic) fell down slowly from the greenery but seemed to disappear halfway.

Pursing his lips together, Alex sat back slightly in his chair. Allowing for his eyes to roam the room, taking in the sort of people that seemed to flock the dining room. "I always imagined royals would dine separately from others." Alex murmured quietly so that victoria was the only one to hear him. "We don't have royalty in the era of Earth I'm from, but we've got movies and TV shows that are supposed to be reflective of the era." Alex's dark eyes once again took in the appearance of the room. A movie or TV show on earth would not be able to capture this sort of atmosphere in the least bit. "This whole room is beautiful."

Glancing down as food appeared in front of them, Alex could feel his stomach growl at the amazing smells. He might not have any idea of what any of the food was, but at the moment he really didn't care. It only took him glancing towards the nobles who were sitting at the other tables and seeing how they were eating the foods in front of them before learning how to eat what was in front of him.

Being the gentleman that he is though, Alex waited for Victoria to start eating first. Then, he'd take a bite. The flavors of the food were quite interesting. Spices that he had never tasted before danced along his tongue and caused a small smile to appear on Alex's lips. "The food here is pretty good. It really puts my cooking to shame." He murmured, remembering the times he had cooked for Victoria while she had stayed at his place in New York.

After some quiet time eating the amazing foods that were in front of him, Alex set his utensils down and took a couple of sips from the fruity yet spicy tea that he was given. "Do you have a room filled with the laws of this Kingdom?" Alex asked softly, not sure if the others could hear him or not. He didn't want them to think that he wanted to cause trouble, so he quickly added on. "Since I'm a lawyer by trade back home, maybe knowing the laws here could help me here."

"Sometimes we do," Victoria whispered back softly to him. "But we don't make a habit of it. This is our main dining room and it is open to everyone in the palace." For a moment, Victoria turned her attention back to the food that was in front of her. She was rather hungry, especially after having used up a lot of her energy this morning. Though as she looked at the protection that Victoria had given him. She had definitely made the correct decision in doing so immediately, even if Alex thought she should have waited.

Her eyes glanced up as he mentioned that the room was beautiful. "I have missed it here." Victoria told him, a light smile coming along her face. She then started to eat the food that was in front of her. As much as Victoria did want others to see that she was alive and well, she didn't want to spend too much time in the dining room. It was unlikely for anyone to come bother her when she started her meal but they might begin to feel brave enough if she spent a while there or was finishing up. It was obvious that there would be questions about what had occurred. Victoria had not made a decision yet on what she was going to say.

She let out a light laugh. "It is fair to say that you are not a chef, however, I quite liked the food we had. Especially the Pizza. I wonder if it would be possible to make that here at all." Victoria let out a small hum in thought. There were some similarities between the food in her world and in his. But there was certainly more differences. She glanced down at some of the bright purple fruit on her plate. They certainly did not have this there.

They ate in piece for some time, which Victoria was thankful for. She enjoyed their conversations but she was famished. But as she started to finish her plate, Alex asked about the laws of the Kingdom. "Yes, of course. I can bring you to it after we walk around the gardens. You can look through them while I rest." Victoria told him with a gentle smile. While she was not going to let Alex leave her side, there was no reason why she couldn't take a nap while he read. "Are you done eating?"

The food in this world was superb, although that could also be because Alex was locked in a cell for who knows how many days and was left to eat something blander then oatmeal. The colors, the textures. It was all different, yet, not in a bad way. More of a surprising way. Vegetables may be in a blue color, but they still crunched when bit. The meat was still hot when cooked and the fruit was still either sweet or sour depending on what one would eat. It was similar and different, new and familiar.

Setting his utensils onto the table, Alex used his napkin to wipe his mouth before he glanced towards Victoria. "Yeah, are you?" He asked, making sure that the Princess of this Kingdom was full and ready to go out to the gardens before he went and stood up. The last thing that Alex wanted was to seem like he was rushing Victoria in any way or form. She had risked her life for him, both of them.

Trying to be as courteous as he could be, Alex offered Victoria a hand to help her stand up. He wasn't sure what would be considered stepping out of line, and what would be considered rude. So, he hoped that once they got outside, Victoria could explain some more mannerisms to him. That way, he didn't seem like a complete idiot when he was around her and hopefully seem like he was meant to be here and not just a damn eyesore.

Following Victoria, Alex kept his pace qual to that of the young Princess. His gaze looking down at her as they moved. Making sure that she didn't falter in her steps. "So, the garden." Alex started to say, casually putting his hands in his pockets as he walked beside the future ruler. "Since the castle is floating, will we get a look of the rest of the Kingdom?" He asked, glancing ahead of them as they walked. Making sure that he wasn't going to walk into someone on accident.

Taking the hand that Alex offered, Victoria stood from her seat. Though once she was up, her hands slid from his and the princess walked out of the dining hall with him. And it seemed that she left at the perfect time, having noticed that some of the nobles were getting up from their seats but stopped when they saw she was leaving. Of course, Victoria would need to speak with them but she was not prepared nor did she have the energy for what they were sure to ask.

Her eyes lifted up to Alex and a gentle smile came along her face at his question. "Yes, we will be able to see the kingdom from the garden. Though we are a bit high up so you won't see anything too specific. My hope, however, is that I will bring you down for a tour myself soon. I will just need to convince a few people to let me leave the castle." Victoria told him with a light laugh. Though, it was true. Victoria was sure that some of them would probably want to keep her confined to the grounds for a month or longer. But it was only right to show Alex her city as he had shown her his. And a day out of the castle shouldn't kill her.

As they reached the door leading to the garden, the door opened itself to both of them. And since they could not walk through it together, Victoria went first. The garden was quite a strange beast as it seemed to be divided into four sections and each section appeared to have its own biome to it. There was one section that was reminiscent to a royal garden on Earth. Very well maintained and trimmed as well. The only difference seemed to be the plants that grew. The second somehow managed to encapsulate the feeling and wildlife of one of the strange forests. It being wilder in nature but a quiet peacefulness to it. The third part of the garden seemed unwelcoming as it seemed harsh. While the forest section released a fresh breeze, this section pushed out hot, humid unforgiving air and heat. The fauna in it was unrecognizable. Strange plants of different shapes, sizes and colors grew from it and many of them seemed like they could kill. The final portion of the garden was actually a huge open field of tall grass and blooming flowers. A few trees here and there to provide shade. It seemed to be the perfect place to play and relax. And, behind that, was the edge that overlooked the city.

"You wanted to see the kingdom?" Victoria asked him as she started to head towards the open plains.

The eyes of all of the supposed nobles that were in the dining area were staring at them as they passed them by. Alex could feel each and everyone's eyes on him, the little hairs along the back of his neck and his arms. A shiver ran down his spine, and yet, he didn't let it show that it made him feel uncomfortable. He didn't let it show that he was nervous, no, he was a lawyer back on earth. He was used to the feeling of others glaring at him, staring him down like he was a devil reincarnated. He could deal with the eyes, he could deal with whatever it is that they wish to throw at him.

Looking head, Alex listened to Victoria and nearly lost his shit when she opened a door that led to four different sorts of gardens. Each one relaxing in its own way. Yet they were all connected. It was beautiful, breathtaking, and incredibly unreal all the same time. Alex could barely comprehend the whole thing. If he hadn't known that he'd be going to a whole new world with Victoria, which he still felt wasn't real, then he would have simply just thought that this was a dream. An yet, it was in front of him and he could feel the light breeze on his skin. The smell of the flowers, the feel of the sun's rays on his skin. It was all there. It was real, this place was filled with more magic then what Alex could ever think possible.

Blinking his dark eyes, Alex cleared his throat and offered a small nod towards Victoria as he casually slipped his hands into his pockets. Then, he started to slowly walk through the door and towards the beautiful field. His eyes looked around at the garden, taking in the bright sky, and the slight breeze that was blowing over his skin as he followed after Victoria. "This place is amazing," Alex mumbled quietly as he glanced at his side towards Victoria as he followed her towards where they could see the town down below. "Woah." He murmured quietly as he turned his gaze towards the buildings that were down below. "This, this is just amazing Victoria." Alex murmured once more, completely lost for words.

Once they reached the edge of the field where Alex could overlook the city, Arielle glanced back at the gardens for a moment. When she was sure no one was around, the princess moved down to sit, her legs hanging over the edge. A soft pleasant hum came from her as she looked down at the city with love in her eyes. "It really is amazing, isn't it?" Arielle said softly. "I can't wait to be able to show you around soon. There is so much that is different from your world."

As the moment passed, Arielle fell back so she was laying against the ground, her legs still hanging over. Her eyes shifted towards the sky for a moment before closing slowly. Although she did not want to admit it, she was already quite tired. The spell to get back and her other injuries she had gotten weighed her down. The healing spell had done wonders but it was not a complete replacement for proper rest. Hopefully, the spell she had done for Alex would be her only one of the day. "I am so happy that you are here, Alex," Arielle whispered to him. "There is much I want to show you."

A small, sigh left her lips as she turned her head, her right cheek now resting against the grass. "But for now, I just wanted to give you a peek at the city and our gardens. Let me know when you are ready to head to the laws, though and we will head there next. It is often quiet in that room so you won't be disturbed."

As they walked towards the edge, Alex could feel the awe taking over. This place was even more amazing to see from above. The sort of old-style building with a twist of fantasy, the dirt roads. The mere fact that this place existed, was AMAZING. The town, the people, the floating castle. If Alex wrote all of this down in a book, he's either become rich beyond belief or he'd go to an asylum for spewing all of this crazy nonsense.

"Wow, Victoria. Just, wow." Alex mumbled as he stopped a couple of steps behind the Princess. His dark eyes took in everything, examining the buildings, the way the small dots of people moved around. Fascinating, this was all so interesting to see. "Our worlds are a huge contrast of each other," Alex mumbled as he moved to sit down next to the Princess. His legs not quite hanging over the edge though. "Everything here is so new and interesting. I can only imagine it blew your mind when you came to my world."

Slowly, Alex shifted his gaze towards the side and listened to Victoria. A small smile playing along his lips. "We've got time. You need to rest, we can go explore together at a later time." Alex murmured quietly as he looked ahead once more and let the world just pass them by. Watching everything, taking in the landscape. Breathing in the smell of the air of this weird world. Just enjoying the little things. Things that people who were from here would take for granted.

After a couple of minutes of silence and noticing that the Princess was falling asleep, Alex cleared his throat. "I think we should head to that study. You look like you could use a nap and I think I should start studying." Alex murmured as he leaned over and offered Victoria a hand to help her up. Leaving this beautiful view was hard, but he knew the quicker he learned of this world, the better off he'd be as he lives here.

"To be fair, I didn't realize I was in a new world when I was first there. So I felt more lost, confused and disoriented then anything else." Victoria told him, a teasing smile on her lips now. "But yes, our worlds are very different and I was taken aback but how amazing it was. Though when I think of your world, as much as I loved it, I still feel very confused by much I saw there. It was just so different and there are things that you have explained that I still have a hard time wrapping my head around."

Once Alex said that she could rest, Victoria closed her eyes completely and relaxed. It wasn't long until she found herself beginning to drift off to sleep. But before she was long gone, Alex was mentioning that they should head off. Something about him studying and her taking a nap. Her eyes opened slowly and she accepted the hand that he offered her. Though once she was off of her feet, Azana released it and turned to Alex with a gentle but tired smile. "Let me lead the way then."

With that, Victoria turned and headed back inside the castle. Though instead of going to the main area where the dining hall had been, they headed towards the back of the castle. While there were still a few people, it was much quieter there. And soon enough they were walking inside of the law library. The library looked like one on Earth. The main difference being that it was lit by many floating, heatless candles. Victoria made her way over to the couch in front of the burning fireplace and laid down upon it.

Her arm then lifted up into the air, her hand open. "Library, I want a book that covers the most important and basic laws in our country. A book that would be the best starting point for someone." Once she finished speaking, two books went whizzing through the library and flew into her open hand. Victoria held onto them tightly before turning her hand for Alex to take. "Here, start with these. If you need something else, just ask the library. But be careful or the books will smack you in the face."

Once you've thought you've seen it all, this world throws another curveball at you. A library that could find you books that you request. That'll bring them to you? Shit that would have been freaking amazing and convenient to have when Alex was studying law at Harvard. He would have spent so much more time studying and less time looking for books. Hell, he would have had more time to chill with his friends before graduating. Life would have been so much better with this little magical room.

"I'll keep that in mind," Alex mumbled as he reached out slowly and took the books that were handed to him. Alex raised his eyes once more and looked around at all of the books on the shelves, at the furniture that decorated the place. It felt so relaxing here, so homey, Alex liked it. Walking over towards a desk that was near a window with good lighting, Alex sat down and placed one of the books down in front of him and the second to his left. "I'll start looking through these. You can rest now, in peace." Alex told Victoria, offering her a small smile before taking a seat and starting to look through the book.

After about a chapter in, in the first book, Alex asked the library to bring him some paper and something to write with. While he managed to catch the paper, the pen that was sent towards him almost nailed him in the face and he had to duck out of the way. It was a scary moment for Alex, but he made it through. Mostly.

Re-reading the first chapter in the first book, Alex started to jot down notes. Making sure that he didn't overlook the smallest detail, looking into the way that words were put together that could suggest possible loopholes. He was a good lawyer on earth, so becoming something similar here while he stayed in this world was Alex's goal. He couldn't embarrass Victoria, she was to kind to be harassed for his lack of knowledge of this world.

Victoria did not need to be told twice. She shifted on the couch until she was comfortable, her face hiding under her arm and into the back of the couch. And, soon enough, the princess was fast asleep. She needed it. After all, she was still weak after trying to get back home and, although Victoria would never say it to Alex, it had been a bit foolish of her to do the spell on him. It had only made her weaker when she already had very little to give. But, soon enough, she was snoozing away on the couch, her back being warmth by the fire behind her.

    ---

A while later, the door to the law library was opened and a single man stepped in. The man had dark brown, short but curly hair, and strong green eyes. Everything about his face seemed sharp, from his jawline to his nose and eyes. Even the stubble on his face was nicely groomed and cared for. There was no doubt that he was quite an attractive man.

He stood tall and proud with an aura of power and sophistication around him. As he walked further into the room, his suit became clearer. There was a vine detail to it that swirled around slowly, almost hypnotically. Each step he made, although not particularly loud, seemed to fill the room as though the shoes knew that the wearer deserved - no demanded - the immediate attention of anyone in proximity.

The man stopped walking once he reached the couch, stopping at the end of it. His eyes glanced down at the sleeping figure for a long moment as though he was evaluating the princess. The man then turned to Alex, taking only a second or two to look him over, (a much shorter time than when he looked over Victoria) though his eyes did take a slight pause at the symbol that was floating around him. "I am Duke Lucius Arlington of Rothsan. Who are you?"
