On the Hunt||Closed RP||

Danika parked her gt mustang in front of the old motel exhausted from the drive. She hated that she didn’t have a hunting partner anymore, but at the same time she was glad that she didn’t have to argue about the radio. She sighed and checked in. She had a feeling that this was going to be a long hunt. There were already three deaths and everything seemed to be leaning towards a ghost or possibly a demon.

Danika let her hair down, walking to her room with her bag in hand. She looked up to hear a rumbling exhaust that could be heard a good distance away. She ignored it for the most part, but when they parked right next to her car. She raised an eyebrow. It was a black Chevrolet Impala, and she had heard rumors about the driver.

'Ah quit bitching sammy, for the last time I told you no you cannot say your music in my car ever and no you cannot drive my car unless I say so and no you cannot drive my car into buildings, yes you killed that ghost but you broke my headlight,' Dean glared at Sam as the taller man rolled his eyes before grabbing his bag and walking toward the receptionists desk. Dean followed, glaring. The number one rule of his car is the driver picks the music and shotgun shots his cake hole. He glanced over at the window of a room seeing a gorgeous woman staring at him.

He continued into the main part of the building behind Sam when she turned away. Another gorgeous woman was standing behind the counter talking to Sam about a room. He winked at her as she handed Sam a room key. She blushed and looked away, a small smile on her pink lips. He walked up next to his brother and smiled when she slipped him a piece of paper with her number on it. Sam shook his head before heading out of the main building toward their room. Dean smirked at the woman one more time before following his brother.

Danika went through her entire bag trying to find her charger for her laptop for the tenth time. “Don’t tell me that I have it in the car,” she muttered to herself. He laptop had gone dead, and she still had tons of research to do on the case. She groaned, deciding that she had to suck it up and go out there. Grabbing her keys, she stepped out of the room and heard two guys talking.

“It’s a simple salt and burn, Dean,” the taller one said loudly. This peaked Danika’s ears.

She moved closer, trying to figure out who they were. “Come on, Sammy. When has it ever been that simple. It’s gotta be a demon,” the other one argued.

She took a step back. Danika had heard rumors about these two and never thought that she would be running into them. “Are you two the Winchester brothers?” she asked before she could stop herself. Immediately regretting it, she looked at Dean. He was handsome with short brown hair and beautiful green eyes. And yet she heard how he is nothing but a flirt with every girl he comes in contact with.

'Yes and who are you?' Dean smiled at the woman. The same woman who was staring at him through her motel room window, 'I definitely would have remembered you if we met before.' Dean's smile fell a bit when she seemed unimpressed. Wow that only happened about a few times but not many. A few occasionally fell for his bitchy geek brother. She turned to look at Sam.

'Yes I'm Sam and that's my brother Dean. How do you know us?'

'We I heard about you two in alot of the hunter joints in various cities. You two really get around.'

'Your a hunter?' Dean asked her, gaining back her attention.

'Yes.'

'What are you here for?'

'Well I'm hunting either a ghost or a demon. Its looking more and more like a demon than a ghost. For one thing I found sulfer at the last place the thing was hiding out. It drew me here.'

Both nodded, 'you want to come inside, we can show you what we have and you can show us what you have,' Sam nodded toward his and Dean's room. Sam meant it professionally but Dean smirked at the comment, earning him a glare from Sammy.

Danika smiled, following them into their hotel room. She could feel Dean’s eyes on her the entire time, and she didn’t know what to think at first. She had to admit he was attractive, but she didn’t want to be another notch in his belt. She wasn’t one to sleep around even though she knew being a hunter meant that you couldn’t have too many close ties. She had dated a few couples here and there that were always a hunter like her.

Sam showed her all the info she got and gave a few of her comments on it. It was mostly what she had. She shared what they didn’t know like the fact that it keeps going after women around the age of 23 to 26 though none of the girls really know each other.

“So you always hunt by yourself?” Dean asked out of the blue.

Danika looked back at him and shrugged. “Every now and then I have someone, but I’m on my own right now,” she replied, not really wanting to give to much away like how she missed hunting with someone, and having the company on the long rides.

'Why is this thing being so random? Going after all women between twenty threw and twenty six who have really dont know one another?' Sam thought aloud as he walked back over to his notes and mentally went over his and the woman's notes, trying to find something to link these women. Anything. Something they do, something they did, something that whatever is killing them did. There has to be something. He didnt mean to but he went into his own world, ignoring Dean and the fellow hunter.

'Is he ignoring us?' Danika looked at Sam's back before looking at Dean.

'Yeah. Sometimes he gets like that when hes really concentrating. You know we had a case that was similar to this one in a way but not completely. That first case I had with sammy years back, the woman in white. She hunted unfaithful men because her husband was unfaithful to her when she was alive. Maybe whatever is hunting these women is going after them because of something that happened to him with women between 23 and 26 and he goes after women who do the same thing to somebody between those ages. It's a thought.'

Danika shrugged. "Maybe. I mean most of them were married or had a boyfriend for some period. Well, except for one, but maybe she just came out of a relationship," she suggested. She looked over Sam's notes again, trying to think about all the possiblities.

She looked over at Dean, not sure what else to say. "But there isn't any documented or known cheating," she pointed out, even though she knew that didn't mean anything. This was the only thing that they had to go off.

"So they are cheaters, and this ghost is getting justice on the girls," Sam said, looking up. "I don't that means a demon then."

"Or this could just be a bored demon," she muttered, remembering how she got into hunting and cringed. "But doesn't seem like it. This feels way too personal."

"So who died in the area?" Dean asked.

Sam walked over to his laptop, turned it on and searched men who died from violent circumstances. One man showed up, ‘there is one. His name is Robert Faris. He was in his thirties. He was engaged to a woman named Violet Warren. The couple was set to be married by Christmas, since that was her favorite holiday and she loved the snow. She cheated on him shortly before they were to be married. When he found out, he couldn’t handle her betrayal. He killed himself. She found him hours later.’

‘This sounds like a woman in white in reverse. What do we call him? The man in white?’

‘That’s not funny Dean. Women have died because of his vengeance,’ Sam looked at him.

Dean stopped laughing and smiling, ‘I know it’s not funny.’

‘Then don’t laugh,’ Sam saved the article so he could visit the local library and print it out.

‘Okay damn Sammy.’

‘Don’t call me Sammy. It’s Sam.’

Danika looked between the two brothers. She didn’t know what to think about Dean’s lame joke, and yet she couldn’t help but shake her head at him. She wasn’t going to ask about the woman in white. “So we find where he is buried and burn the bones,” she said, hoping that’s it.

Sam nodded. “Which I’m doing right now,” he announced, tapping away at his computer.

“I say we get a nap in and eat,” she suggested. It was what she did before going to dig up a grave. She just preferred to be well rested before digging up a body even though it looks like she would have help to do the job.

“Sounds like a good idea to me. I saw a diner down the road,” Dean answered.

“Did you just think about the food part of my suggestion?” I asked.

'They have really good burgers, the best fountain drinks and the pie is amazing. I think I might take one back to the hotel for when I cant sleep,' he walked out of the room toward his car. Sam looked at Danika, 'to cut down on costs, you can ride with us and I'll pay for you. You helped us finding a missing piece to our hunt.'

He walked out behind his brother, sliding into the back and leaving the front door open for her to get in of she wanted to ride with them. Dean started up the car and sat there waiting for her. Once she slipped inside and closed the door behind her, Dean backed out and drove toward the dinner.

'So once we eat, then well go find that man's bones, salt them and burn them then this should all be over,' he turned on the radio. A band decades old started playing through the speakers. Danika resisted the urge to turn her own station on.

'You change the song if you want Danika,' Sam told her as he opened his laptop back up to research that guy more.

'Driver picks the music sammy, everybody else shuts their cakehole.'

'Sam not sammy. I'm not a child anymore.'

Danika shrugged. “Not my car, not my radio,” she said. She looked at Sam in the back smiling. “You were called Sammy as a kid?” she asked curiously. She smiled when he nodded. She leaned back and looked around the car enjoying the classic cars. She couldn’t help herself. She loved the old cars like this.

“This is a thing of beauty,” she commented looking over at Dean. She smiled at him as he pulled into the parking lot of the diner. Danika could see the look of pride on his face when she said that. And she couldn’t help herself. She ran her hand across the leather seats.

“Did you fix it up yourself?” she asked, curiously.

“And you have just won his heart,” Sam said from the backseat. He scooted to the side and went for the door when Dean parked the car.

Dean smirked, ‘yes I have. I had to rebuild it after the de...oh damnit they don’t have cherry pie. Oh well they have apple,’ he quickly changed the subject on why he had to rebuild the impala. It hurt too much to talk about. It happened years ago but the pain never went away only faded from time to time. He opened the door for Danika and walked in behind her, letting it close before Sammy could enter. He snickered when Sam cursed.

‘Your a jerk you know that?’

‘And your a bitch,’ he responded before sliding into a booth. A bubbly blonde came bouncing over once they were all seated, ‘May I start you all off with some drinks?’

‘Water,’ Sam told her.

‘Coke.’

‘Same,’ Danika told her, noticing the way she eyed Sam when he wasn’t looking. She lingered for a few seconds hoping he would look away from his laptop and up at her to no avail. She pouted before walking away to get their drinks. Danika and Dean both looked at Sam. He looked up from feeling their eyes on him, ‘what?’ He asked clueless as to what happened.

Danika day next to Dean and shook her head. “That waitress was so into you, and you completely ignored her,” she pointed out. She leaned into the table and looked at Sam. “I mean how are you ever going to get a girl if you keep your nose in that laptop the whole time.”

Sam gave her a look. “We can’t really have someone when living this life,” he said being a little too logical in Danika’s opinion.

“Yeah, but you got be bored with only having Dean around and not someone that you can actually be close to more than the platonic relationship you have with family,” she argued. “I mean I want to have someone that I can cuddle up with at the end of a hunt.”

She looked down at her hands a little embarrassed that she admitted that last part. It wasn’t a lie but she just met these guys and didn’t want to sound clingy or cheesy.

The girl came back a moment later with their drinks and placed them in front of the person they belonged to. She slipped Sam a note near his before winking, 'can I get you folks something to eat or did you need more time to decide?'

'I know what I want. A double burger with cheese, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes with ketchup and mustard, fries and a slice of apple pie,' Dean smiled.

'I just want some fries and a regular plain cheese burger, thanks Ariel,' Sam gave her a small smile before looking back at his laptop. Danika looked at the girl, 'I would like what this one got,' she motioned at Dean, 'sounds good.'

The girl smiled before turning and walking away, a spring in her step. He smiled at her. That was progress. She giggled as she gave the cook their orders.

Dean and Danika looked back at Sam again.

'What now?' He asked them, knowing full well they were going to talk about the waitress again.

“You need to turn your flirting game up,” Danika said. She took a sip of her soda. She saw Dean nod in agreement next to her. She waved a hand at him. “You gotta do more than just smile at her. You gotta step it up or you gonna be lonely.”

Sam rolled his eyes. “I got my brother,” he said.

“Not what I was talking about,” Danika said. “I mean you have one of the biggest flirts as your brother, and you don’t know how to flirt at all. Something had to rubbed off of you. No offense, Dean.”

Sam narrowed his eyes at her. Danika held her hand up and said, “Don’t you dare argue with me. You will thank me for this.”

Danika smiled, feeling a little too proud of herself. She couldn’t help how she was determined to play matchmaker with Sam, but she felt like he always seemed like the one by himself. Danika glanced at Dean, having a bit of hard time looking away. There was just something that she was immediately attracted to.

Sam stood up, tired of them ganging up on him about the waitress. He walked over to her, 'hey I'm sorry I wasn't really responding to you. I was busy with a bit of work,' he took her hand and wrote his number on the palm of her hand, 'call me sometime or I'll call you,' he was referring to the number that she gave him.

He walked back over to the table and sat down, going back to his laptop. Dean smirked and took a drink of his cola, 'now that's my brother.'

'Look if she calls me or I call her, that doesn't guarantee that it will turn into anything and even if she does, I dont want to get attached only for her to run when she finds out about what we do or something takes her or worse. I dont want something to happen to her like it did Jessi...' he trailed off, 'look I'm not hungry, you guys eat. I'm going to find those bones.'

Sam left without another word.

Dean and Danika got up and rushed out after him as he walked down the street, toward the graveyard.

Danika looked at Dean, unsure what to say. She knew she could get carried away without meaning to. She sighed, and walked around the graveyard trying to find the right grave. She went down each row until she got towards the back.

“Hey, guys. I think I found him,” she called out. She looked back trying to find Dean and Sam. They both looked up and started to make their way towards them.

“So let’s get started,” Sam said.

Danika nodded.

Dean gave the flashlight to Sam as he started digging the man's grave up so they can salt and burn his bones before moving on. He was sweating by the time he finally hit the coffin below them. He threw the shovel up before he opened up the coffin. Danika handed him the salt that he poured on the bones, before he poured some of the lighter fluid before lighting a match and throwing it down into the grave. They watched as the man’s bones burned before they turned and walked back to the car.

‘Thank you for coming Danika.’

‘No problem,’ she told Sam.

‘It was nice having you here,’ Dean told her, being sincere before he got into the car then shouting at them to get in.

Sam slid into the back and got back on his laptop. Danika got into the drivers side and smiled at Dean as he backed out of the parking spot before turning onto the road and driving back to the hotel. He was actually being sincere, not flirty.

‘Why are you staring at me?’

‘No reason,’ she said before looking out the window.

Danika sighed. She hoped that this wouldn’t be the last time that she worked with the Winchesters. She liked working with them. There was also the fact that she was attracted to Dean even though it wouldn’t be a wise decision to fall in love with him by any means. He was a known flirt, and they were both hunters. Hunters weren’t known to have a long life where they would have a little slice of heaven. And to top it off, this life was stressful enough without worrying about someone you care about.

“I really liked working with you, Dean,” she said, looking back at him. “It was nice knowing there was you and Sam there to have my back.” She didn’t know why she was admitting this to him, but she knew she had to. She couldn’t let him know that she didn’t appreciate them being there even if it was just a simple salt and burn.

“It really meant a lot to me,” Danika added on.
