Ellie's hand gracefully slid across the page as she wrote a love letter to her most recent hardcore crush. She knew it was probably a little weird that instead of just telling a guy she liked him she wrote him a letter that she'd never send. The thing was that she didn't write the letters for them. She wrote the letters for herself, so she could get all her own emotions out and on a piece of paper. That's how she dealt with things, not just boys. Before her mom died she'd taught Ellie that writing down whatever you wanted to say but not sending it was helpful. Of course, things could always be taken a little to far. Though Ellie didn't see any issue here. It wasn't like any of the boys she'd developed a crush on like this would ever see the letters. She did after all keep them rather protected in her room.

"Ellie dad said it's time for dinner," her younger sister Hailey said poking her head into the room.

"Tell dad and Lauren that I'll be right there," she said before she folded up the piece of paper and placed it in her box with the others. Now it was time for dinner. Her last dinner with Lauren before she ran off to college leaving them probably until Christmas. Which Ellie still wasn't sure she was even used to the idea of their older sister not being around all the time, but hopefully she would get used to it. Not that she had much of a choice in the matter.

"Ellie you do still exist," Andrew said smiling at her and pulling her into a hug. Andrew was Lauren's current boyfriend, one of Ellie's really good friends, and he didn't live very far from them.

Ellie just laughed and shook her head. "Of course I still exist. You probably just don't notice me as much anymore since you're always sucking face with my sister," she joked.
Kaiden pushed his fingers through his hair and sighed before he knocked on his girlfriend's door. He was still kind of nervous about picking her up for their date because they hadn't been together that long. And while he wasn't worried about her not liking him anymore he was worried that he'd make himself look bad in front of her. Sometimes being popular was hard, and it did make him slightly miss the days when it was just him and Alix. But things hadn't been like that in a while, and he wasn't sure they'd ever be that simple again.

"Hey, babe you ready?" He asked her when she answered the door looking as fantastic as ever.

"Yes, let's go," she said walking out and sliding her arm through his as they walked back to his car. He'd actually put a lot of thought into this whole date. It was one of their last nights of summer before school started back up and he wanted to make sure they were able to enjoy the last bit of it. So hopefully she had as much fun as he had planned for them.

[ hope this post was okay! ]

"I can't believe it. You look so pretty." Lily, a friend of Alix's said in a tone that gave away that she was amazed. "I know, I barely recognized her." A tone of a boy chimed in. A small blush played along Alix's cheeks as she sat in her seat in the little cafe. Her friends gushing over her new hair cut. An the fact that she just got laser eye surgery. So, no more harry potter glasses for her.

It's not like Alix was trying to change her appearance for a senior year or anything, she just. Needed this change. She's wanted the surgery for a while since she had to start wearing glasses in fourth grade. Her highlights were just an added thing. She just hoped that this little change would get people off of her back over wearing glasses already. It was bad enough she wasn't very good in social settings.

"Can we just, enjoy our milkshakes already?" Alix asked quietly, as she gently grabbed her vanilla caramel milkshake. Her bright green eyes looking around the popular place quietly as she sipped her drink.

    --

A loud laugh escaped from Jake as he caught the football and fell to the ground. His team cheered in excitement as the catch meant that they won. "Whoo," Jake yelled as he rolled onto his back and held up the ball. The sound of footsteps coming towards him caused Jake to sit up just in time as his little brother and his friends tackled him.

"We did it, we did it, Jake!" Adam, Jake's five-year-old brother exclaimed in excitement. "We did it, we did it!" Another little kid who Jake couldn't remember the name of chimed in. "We did guys," Jake exclaimed as he reached out and patted the two boys on the head and grinned at them. Sometimes, babysitting his little brother was fun, and other times it was a chore. Thankfully it was fun this time around.

"Alright, since we've run around. Why don't we head back to the house and order you guys some pizza?" Jake suggested, looking at the little kids who crowded him an nodded their little heads in agreement. "Alright, let's go. A remember what Miss Nina said." He said, referring to his mother. "Buddy system." He waited for the kids to grab each other's hands before he started to lead them across the street to his house.

(It was good! Although I wasn't really sure what to do with Jake...)

Other people may have thought that taking a girl on a date to the local Mom and Pop's burger shop was totally uncool however Kaiden couldn't have thought of a better place to start things off. The place was becoming more and more popular, they had the best milkshakes he'd ever had in his life, and honestly, he held this place to a high standard because he'd been hanging out there since he was little. Actually, he and Alix, an old childhood friend whom he hadn't really talked to in a while, would always hang out there. It didn't matter what day of the week it was or anything. It was a tradition they had growing up. Every night especially in the summers they'd sit at this one booth in the back and drink their milkshakes. And it was never an issue because it was so close to where they both lived they could practically see their houses from the front window.

"Kaiden why did you bring me here of all the places we could go?" Kara asked as they pulled up and parked.

He looked over at her and kissed her cheek. "Because you're my girlfriend, and I can't have a girlfriend who's never had a mom and pop's milkshake. Especially since you claim to love them so much," he told her with a smile. "Also this isn't the only thing I have planned for us. Have a little faith in me," he said before getting out and leading her inside.
Ellie enjoyed dinner with her family and Andrew, it made her very happy to have one final night with her big sister. Even if things were a little weird with Andrew pretty much declaring his love for Lauren at the dinner table. It made sense that he loved her sister. For starters, everyone loved her sister, plus she and Andrew had been dating awhile now. Though Lauren didn't seem to take it as well as Ellie felt like she should, or maybe could have. But either way after dinner Ellie knew that they needed a little personal time to talk about things so she decided to head out for a bit and maybe clear her own head.

Never in a million years would Ellie have thought that Hailey would go into her room and snoop. Just like she'd never think that Hailey would totally invade her personal privacy by finding the letters Ellie had kept to herself all this time. They weren't ever supposed to be mailed. End of story. They were all letter Ellie wrote in order to get her feelings out to herself and that was it. So Ellie went on about her night like normal not even thinking that in a few short days when the mail ran things for her could change.

[ I felt the same way about Kaiden Lol. We can just kind of play it by ear until we get to them all interacting with each other xD ]

It seemed that Alix's friends were listening to her small request because they were all enjoying their shakes. Light music played through the speakers in the ceiling. This place always played the best music, because it was the latest popular songs that'd get into your head and make you think of them non-stop.

"Hottie with a nice body alert." Danny, Alix's friend said as he gazed at the window. "Oh! What's his rating?" Lily asked her interest no longer on her chocolate milkshake. She turned her head to look out the window of the shop before looking towards the door. "Oh, he's a ten. For sure. He's a popular, definitely gotten hotter over the summer." Danny said quietly so that the guy who was coming in didn't hear him.

A roll of her eyes was the only response that Alix could give her friends. "You guys are so weird," Alix mumbled quietly as she glanced up as the door chimes. Her breath caught in her lungs as she watched Kaiden walk in. Damn, Danny was right. Kaiden did get hotter. "Alix, your drooling," Lily whispered into her ear and caused a small blush to appear on her cheeks. "A-am not!" Alix squeaked out as she reached for a napkin and quickly tried to wipe her mouth.

Giggles came from Lily and Danny as they lightly teased the poor girl for a moment more before talking about where to meet up tomorrow. Alix tried to pay attention to her friends, but she couldn't help but glance towards Kaiden every now and again. She also wondered why Kara was with him as well. The girl was a bully.

    --

It was starting to get late, but thankfully the days were long since it was summer. The sky changing colors from blue to a light pink color. It always interested the young athlete when the sky changed color to two different spectrums. He wasn't the least bit good at science and whenever someone tried to explain it to him, he'd just zone out. School was too boring for him. He'd rather play football or something.

"Hey, Jake?" Adam asked quietly, looking up at his older brother. "Yes?" Jake asked as he looked down at him and his friends. An eyebrow arched as he waited to hear what the little guy wanted to ask him. "How far do you think I could kick this ball?" An amused look appeared on Jakes' face as he heard the question. He wasn't expecting it, he was thinking that the kid would be asking him to order them something else besides pizza.

"I don't know. How far?" Jake said casually and shrugged his shoulder. He's learned to indulge the younger human, otherwise, his parents would get mad at him. "Super far," Adam said, earning some of the other kids question his brother. "Super far?" Jake asked, arching a brow in amusement and looking down at him as he let his hand go. "Yeah, watch," Adam said, and before Jake could stop him. Adam kicked the ball ahead of them. An hit a car, setting its alarm off.

"Adam!" Jake said, in a not so happy tone. "Sorry!" Adam said, shocked that it hit the car. "Well, go get it! And if anyone comes out say you're sorry!" Jake told the younger kid as they headed towards the car. His eyes narrowed as he didn't want the kid to think that he was off the hook so easily.

Kaiden sent a smile to the waitress Stacy when she’s came to take their order. “It’s good to see you in here again Kaiden, and if I remember correctly I know what you want. So hun what can I get you?” She asked looking over to Kara who clearly had no idea.

Kaiden laughed softly. “I’m sure you remember Stacy. And she’ll have what I’m having. I need to introduce her to the best food in town.” He said pretty sure Kara would like what he ordered. Though that was based on the fact that he and Alix always ordered the same thing, after she’d introduced him to it.

He glanced around the room for a moment after Stacy walked away to out the order in and happened to catch a pair of very familiar eyes. He smiled because it was nice to smile at people, and it took him a moment to realize who it was but by then he was being pulled from thoughts of his old friendship to his current relationship with Kara. And she was a girl who did not like to be kept waiting, for anything.

“I promise you’re going to like the food. And if I’m wrong then I’m wrong and we won’t come back here together,” he told her gabbing her hand across the table and leaning across to kiss her.
Ellie often got lost in her own thoughts. Especially when she took walks around the block or rode her bike. And today was no exception. She had a lot going on in life really right now. Her sister was about to leave for college, she’d started to have more than friends feelings towards Andrew even though she knew it wasn’t fair to Lauren, and she was about to start her senior year of high school. It might not have seemed like a lot but she and Lauren were close.

Not seeing her sister everyday would be weird. What was she supposed to do about her feelings she shouldn’t have for Andrew? Why did so much have to change so quickly? All these thoughts kept her distracted until she was scared back into reality when a car alarm went off as she walked by.

Ellie thought for a moment that she’d caused it until she saw a younger boy running by to grab a ball, he must’ve kicked it to hard or something. “Sorry if I scared you,” he said as he picked the ball up. “You’re okay,” she told him just glad she hadn’t done something.

Maybe it was her imagination, but she could of sworn that she saw Kaiden smile at her. Did that mean he didn't fully forget about her when he made his new friends? Did that mean he didn't completely change? Ugh, Alix really hoped so. She missed her goofy best friend. The kid who she'd have milkshake drinking contests with and would play pirates in his backyard for hours. An not to mention playing video games in her basement until her dad made him go home. She still held that high score in Mario Kart.

Glancing back towards Kaiden and Kara, Alix felt like her heart was being ripped out of her chest. They were kissing, she had just caught Kaiden and Kara kissing. Shit. She did not expect that.

Turning to look out the window, Alix sucked on her milkshake. Trying to get a brain freeze so that she could focus on something other than the pain in her chest. It didn't work though, because she had drunk all of the delicious shake. "Ugh, I need more sugar," Alix mumbled quietly as she rested her head on the table. "You do that, you won't be able to sleep tonight." Lily chimed in, an reaching over to pat Alix on the back.

"Oh! I like this song!" Danny cut in, not realizing Alix's soured mood and started to sing. "Some days I'm up, some days I'm down. Some days the world is way too loud." Alix groaned and covered her face with her hands. "Please don's sing, Danny." Alix whines, although amusement filled her voice. "Some days my bed, won't let me out, But I'm ok with missing out on the social anxiety" An now Danny was dancing in his seat while Alix sank down in her seat and Lily just giggled at her friend.

    --

As Adam ran towards the car, a wave of relief washed over Jake. Glad that no one was hurt by the kick. Although, on a closer look the teenager saw a vaguely familiar girl standing by the car. "Shit, is that her car? Did Adam hit her?" Jame wondered to himself as he told the other kids he was watching to stay put and went to go and see what was going on.

"I'm so sorry." Jake said as he approached Adam and the girl he knew but couldn't put a name to her face for some reason. He really sucked at names and at times like this, it really annoyed Jake. "You didn't get hit by the ball or anything, did you?" He asked as he looked at her worriedly. His eyes momentarily flicking over her from head to tow to make sure she wasn't developing a bruise anywhere or anything. Thankfully, it looked like she was fine though.
"Adam, did you apologize?" Jake asked as he looked down at the little kid and ruffled his hair a little roughly. "Ow! Stop, you're messing up the do!" Adam grumbled and he tried to push his older brothers hand away. His cheeks a little pink as he was getting embarrassed in front of the pretty girl.

Being the adult in this situation, Jake gave his little brother a look before he turned to the girl. Doing his best to offer her a small smile. "Really though, I'm sorry. I didn't know he could kick the ball that far or hard." He apologized again and hoped that she wouldn't get to mad at them.

“So do you know that girl over there?” Kaiden heard Kara ask him as they waited for their food. “Because she was looking at you like you know her, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her around,”

This was weird it might get a little weird. “I do actually. Alix and I have lived close to each other our whole lives. And we used to hang out well everyday when we were younger. We were pretty inseparable,” he told her knowing there was no point in lying about it. He and Alix had been close growing up, and sadly they’d grown apart over the last few years. Mostly because he’d gotten more involved with sports and a different crowd of people. And Kaiden knew it was mostly his fault they didn’t hang out anymore, which he hated, but he really wasn’t sure how to fix things either.

He could tell just by the look on Kara’s face that she had no intentions of ever getting to know Alix. And well he hadn’t asked her to. “Well I think she likes you and old friend or not I hope she knows you’re taken,” she told him. It actually took almost everything in him to keep from rolling his eyes.

“Trust me Kara you have nothing to worry about. Alix and I haven’t talked in a long time, even if she ever did before I’m sure she’s well over it. And there’s no need to be jealous,” he added knowing that regardless of what Kara thought of the food here she wasn’t going to want to ever come back now.
Ellie shook her head and ran her fingers though her hair, “he’s fine. I didn’t get hit and while this isn’t my car it doesn’t look damaged,” she said wondering if Jake even remembered her from like seventh grade. Goodness he’d for sure grown into his looks since then. Ellie could easily remember having a major crush on him back then. Actually he was the first boy she’d ever written a letter, she’d never sent it to him though. And for good reason. Ellie knew Jake has a girlfriend currently, one she couldn’t stand, but that didn’t matter. And at the time in seventh grade she wouldn’t have even known what to do if he would’ve liked her back. Plus she’d known then of another girl who really liked him, not that it was hard to like him.

“It really is okay. I mean no one got hurt. I would suggest maybe working on your aim a little just to avoid any future incidents like this one though.” Ellie told him with a smile. This wasn’t the kind of distraction Ellie had wanted exactly. “Well I’m going to go back to my walk now. So um have fun,” she said mentally hitting herself for sounding like a total idiot.

The feeling was becoming too much for Alix to bear. She just watched her ex-best friend, her first crush, kiss some other girl in front of her. It was like getting shot in the heart, it hurt that bad. Breathing in deeply, Alix did her best to keep herself calm as she looked at her friends and offered them a small smile, even though she just wanted to run away and cry. Which was what she was planning to do.

"I think I'm going to head home," Alix said quietly as she watched Danny calm down once the song ended. "What why?" Lily asked, frowning as she heard Alix say she was going to be leaving. "I just feel nauseated." She mumbled and placed a hand on her stomach to help emphasize that she didn't feel well. "We told you not to get the large milkshake," Danny said, worry laced in his words as he looked at Alix.

"Yeah, I should have listened." She mumbled as she pulled out the money for her shake. "Tell Stacy thanks for me." She told her friends as she offered once more smile before standing up and walking out the door. Doing her best to not look in the direction of Kaiden and his new girlfriend.

    --

For some reason, Jakes mind went blank as he listened to the girl in front of him speaking. Sure, he could clearly hear what she was saying, but, he couldn't hear her. He just kept going over and over in his mind. Wondering where he had seen her. She looked so familiar and it was really killing him that he couldn't put a name to a face right now. "R-right." He managed to murmur and stepped to the side so that she could walk past him, mentally hitting himself for just letting her go.

"Man, she was a babe," Adam said quietly once the girl was out of earshot. "Ow!" Followed from the young kid as Jake pinched him on the shoulder. "Don't talk about girls like that." He told his brother, even though he talked about them like that, which was how he probably learned to talk like that.
"Come on, let's all get back. The pizza shop might close soon." Jake mumbled quietly as he ushered the kids to the house so that he could order them dinner. Meanwhile, his mind was searching through his mind to figure out who that girl was.

Then, it hit him after he got into the house. "Ellie Ramey?" He murmured, his brows furrowed. He didn't remember her looking so hot.

Kaiden happened to glance over towards Alix in time to see her get up to leave, and he felt bad. He hated to admit that they weren’t friends anymore and he couldn’t tell anyone the exact reason they grew apart, just that they did. So he made a mental note to himself to look into fixing things with her. But he didn’t plan on telling Kara. At least not yet, because he knew if he told her she’d throw a fit. Because she clearly believed that he shouldn’t be talking to girls who weren’t her. Which Kaiden understood her not wanting him to get ideas of being with other people in his mind but that wasn’t his intention. And he knew she had plenty of guy friends and he didn’t say anything. Because even though some might think it was stupid he wanted to trust his girlfriend.

“Here are your shakes,” Stacy said pulling him from his thoughts of what felt like a previous life. “Hope you guys enjoy them and the food will be right out,”

“Thanks Stacy,” he told with a smile before looking back to Kara wanting to see her reaction to what he and Alix still thought were the best shakes ever.
Ellie walked around the block to just clear her head before she headed home. And honestly she probably needed another walk after finding out what all she’d missed.

“Wait a second, you guy broke up?” Ellie asked her sister wondering what on earth caused that. “I thought you guys were in love? What if this makes things awkward for us now?” She asked just trying to get a better feel for why Lauren would break up with Andrew. They’d been dating for three years now and everything seemed good with them but maybe Ellie has missed something.

Lauren sighed, “Ellie I do love him but I’m leaving for college and I shouldn’t have a boyfriend while I’m there. Plus it’s so far away that things would fall through. I mean I won’t have the time to give him that I’ve had while I’m here. And it isn’t fair to either of us to be involved in something we know we can’t keep up with. And I mean I know he probably doesn’t understand now but I think he’ll be okay. Also look at this as an opportunity to hang out with you friend again. It’s only awkward after all if you make it awkward,” Lauren told her pulling her into a side hug. “I’m going to miss you guys so much when I’m gone,”

It was only seven something in the morning and the loud rowdy voices of people filled the halls. Honestly, Alix had no idea how people could be so talkative so early in the morning. She felt like she could barely function with her eight hours of sleep. Okay, it was more like four since she was up late playing Persona Five, but still. She didn't understand morning people, not in the least bit.

In her right hand, Alix held her ultra caramel frappuccino from Starbucks. The sweet taste of caramel mixing amazing with the expresso and whipped cream. The sweetness acting as the only thing that was keeping her going this early in the morning.
Turning the corner, Alix thought that everything was going fine until she went down like a tree. Her drink, thankfully didn't fall out of her hand though as she landed on her knees.

"Ow." Alix mumbled quietly and looked over her shoulder to see what she had tripped over. Three girls stood by the wall giggling. Two of them, Alix vaguely knew as some cheerleaders, but the third she recognised instantly. Kara. The girl stood tall and smirked down at Alix before she flipped her hair and went to walk away. Her lackies following her.

Alix stayed on the ground for a moment more, trying to collect her thoughts for a moment before she slowly stood up and headed to her locker. She really hoped that no one saw her little spill.

    --

"Whoo, let's go seniors! Let's go seniors!" Jake and a few of his friends chanted as they walked down the halls. Patting some of their other senior buddies on the backs as they past them by. The excitement of this being their last year easily detectable in their voices. "Whoo." Jake grinned as he looked down at the girl he had his arm wrapped around casusally. Her little shoulders looking non-existant under his large arm.

As some of the schools star athletes, people who weren't in the group parted. Treating the group like they were kings. Looks of envy filled peoples faces who didn't make it onto their sport teams. The competition for spots on the teams being very fierce since the school was known for having one of the best high school sports teams in the state.

"I'm going to head off to class, I'll see you later." Jake's current girlfriend said, leaning up to press a small kiss to his lips before walking away. "Later Rebecca." Jake said, smiling as she walked away before he turned to one of his guy friends. "Hey dude, do you remember a girl by the name of Elliot Ramey?"Jake asked once his current girlfriend was out of earshot, not wanting to make her mad or think that he was cheating on her or anything.

"That quiet girl who sat in the back of our science class in middle school?" Noah, asked after a while of silence. A blank look took over Jakes expression as he tried to remember if that was the class that he knew her friend, but ended up just shrugging his shoulders instead. Not arguing with it. "I think so."
"What about her?" Noah asked as the two split from the group as they headed towards there history class. "She turned so freaking hot dude. I mean, she was cute back then, but I swear she's like a ten now." Jake said, gaining Noah's attention as they talked about how the once shy girl turned into such a babe.

Ellie was excited to start her senior year because it was her senior year, what she wasn't excited about was roaming the halls at school without her sister, dealing with the awkwardness of Andrew and Lauren breaking up, and oh yeah waking up early. This year she had to wake up even earlier than usual too because it was officially her duty to drive both herself and Hailey to school, every day. After all, now that Lauren was gone Ellie was the oldest sister in the house.

She couldn't help but roll her eyes to herself as she made her way to her locker passing by Jake, his awful girlfriend Rebecca, and their friends all yelling down the hall about being seniors. Everyone already knew, there was no need to be so obnoxious about it. "Hey, Alix are you okay?" Ellie asked as she walked over to one of her few friends she saw getting up off the floor. Though Ellie had a feeling something involving a mean girl. Probably one named Rebecca or Kara. Literally the two worst girls in school. Their lackeys weren't much better than they were but at least the lackeys on their own didn't usually torment people.
Kaiden walked down the hall, running a little later than he wanted to but at least he wasn't running late, towards his locker. He hadn't seen Kara yet today but after the last few days he'd had with her he was sure that she'd find him in no time. He did like her, despite what he knew people thought about her, and he couldn't explain why he liked her he just did. Maybe he didn't want to believe what everyone thought about her, he wanted to form his own opinion rather than just believe whatever he heard because honestly, people could just be awful sometimes.

Not far from his own locker though was Alix's locker, and as he approached his own he saw her and one of her friends standing there both looking a little stressed was the word he would use but he wasn't sure it was correct. And it made no sense because it was only the first day and classes hadn't even started yet, so he didn't know what was going on. Therefore he decided to just take initiative and ask them what was bothering them because he was curious. That and he really had been meaning to reach out to Alix the last few days ever since he saw her at the diner, he just hadn't had a chance to and now seemed like the best opportunity.

As Alix made her way to her locker, her eyes stayed on the ground. She didn't want to see the stares. See the other kids laughing faces at her little spill in the hallway so early in the morning. It was embarrassing, but it wasn't the worst thing that's happened to her. Alix glanced up once she heard her name though, and did her best to offer her friend a small smile. Acting as nothing had happened.

"Y-yeah." She said quietly. "Had a moment of clumsiness, too much caffeine in the morning." She lied as she held up the drink in her hand. "They must have put too much coffee in this one." Alix looked towards her locker as she opened it and grabbed a few note books and the book she needed for English and history.

"I need to get to the studio. They made me a lead editor for the school news." Alix explained to Ellie, referring to the class that allowed the students to film things and also do radio shows. Then, Alix turned her back to her friend as she tried to get away from the area as soon as possible, not even noticing that Kaiden was looking towards the duo.

    --

As the duo turned down the hall once more, Jake stopped midstep and looked down the hall that they had just walked down. His dark eyes narrowing a little as he spotted Ellie by what must have been her locker. He couldn't believe that he had just walked past her so easily, especially since he couldn't help but be thinking of her for the past couple of nights.

"Yo dude, I'll catch up to you later," Jake said to Noah as he headed back down the hall. "Careful dude, don't cause any trouble." Noah reminded Jake, referring to starting shit his girlfriend might hear. "Yeah, yeah. I got it." Jake brushed off what Noah said and walked down the hall cooly. He patted Kaiden on the shoulder as he passed him. "Sup man," Jake said as he walked past him. "Didn't see you at the party that Rebecca had a few days ago, Kara keep you tied up?" Jake teased his friend as he passed him by.

"Hey, Ellie," Jake said as he made his way towards Ellie's locker and leaned against it, blocking her view of her retreating friend. "How are you?" He asked, acting cool like he didn't have something he wanted to talk to her about.

Kaiden shook his head at his friend Jake at the mention of his and Rebecca's party. That was the only time he was thankful for being sick. Kaiden did enjoy hanging out with his friends, but there were some nights when a party thrown by Rebecca and Jake wasn't something he wanted to do. Because everyone else usually ended up trashed and he often had to be the DD. Which was fine because he didn't really enjoy drinking much anyway, but it was still annoying at times.

This really was the perfect time for him to talk to Alix though because he saw her walking right towards him all alone. "Hey! Alix can we talk real quick?" He asked stepping in front of her keeping his fingers crossed that she'd actually want to even talk to him. He knew it was totally out of character for him to do this now, but Kaiden really did want to try and get his friend back. She had always been someone he could depend on, really she'd always been the best friend he'd ever had and the last few nights he'd been thinking about it, and he felt so awful and upset that he'd been stupid enough to let that friendship go.
Ellie tucked her hair and looked up at Jake who was currently blocking not only her locker but also her friend whom she'd actually been trying to check on. "I'm good thanks," she told him arching an eyebrow curious as to where this was coming from. She wasn't friends with Jake. Actually, she was pretty shocked that Jake actually remembered her name. After they'd all started high school Jake had become even more popular than he'd already been and Ellie had become more of the reserved shy girl she'd already been. At least that's how it looked.

"Can I help you with something Jake?" She finally asked him actually wondering what he wanted. It was totally unlike him to just stop and talk to her, of all people. Especially since he had a girlfriend, one that everyone in the school knew about. Rebecca wasn't exactly an easy girl to get along with, and she wasn't exactly one who liked to share. She was the girl who literally would dump someone the second someone she thought was better came around, she'd play with boy's hearts and not care, and honestly, she often got jealous if her boyfriends even so much as looked at another girl.

Ellie knew these things because that's how Rebecca had been since middle school, and that's how she was with her friends too. That's why Ellie was no longer part of Rebecca's friend group. The second they'd moved into middle school and Rebecca found a crowd of people she thought would make her cooler and more popular she'd dumped Ellie on the spot leaving her pretty much alone with no friends until she'd met Andrew. But now even that friendship felt a little strained, and Ellie still wasn't sure what to do about it.

Keeping her eyes low, Alix did her best to try and keep all attention away from her. To go on with her day like nothing was going on. Sadly, it seemed like luck wasn't on her side because as soon as she heard her name, everything seemed to freeze. Her heart skipped a beat and Alix could hear her heart starting to beat rapidly in her ears. Still though, even though she was feeling nervous from the sudden call of her name, she tried to act cool.

"Oh, uh. Hey, Kaiden." Alix said quietly as she glanced up at her old best friend. Her green eyes then slowly shifting to look around the hall. Were people looking at them? She wasn't really on to be in his group of friends now, so this has to be weird. Right? "Do you need anything?" She asked, shifting a little on her feet as she felt a little unsure of why he was talking to her now after years of ignoring her.

Slowly, Alix raised her drink and took a few sips before nervously nibbling on its straw. Her eyes nervously looking into Kaiden's blue eyes as she felt the eyes of their peers on them. "Actually, I uh. Just remembered that I have to go help Mr.Foster set up the camera's for his new tv class." Slowly, Alix tried to maneuver around Kaiden to make an escape.

    --

A small coy smile started to play along Jake's lips as he watched the girl in front of him tuck her hair behind her ear. It was cute, Jake actually really liked it when girls did that little movement. It made them seem so innocent and alluring. It was why he liked Rebecca at first. She held that era of being sweet, but after dating for a few months, she totally changed. Was a good lay though.

"No, not really." Was Jake's simple answer to Ellie's question before he reached into his back pocket and held out a folded piece of paper. "Although I'd like to talk about this." His coy smile slowly turning into a teasing grin. "Do my dark eyes really that nice to stare at?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. Then, he'd move to put the paper back into his pocket.

Slowly, Jake stood up straight and crossed his arms over his chest loosely, as he waited to see how flush the girl will become.

Kaiden had been trying to figure out exactly what to say before Alix totally tried to get away from him, and even though they hadn't talked really since Freshman year Kaiden had known Alix a lot longer than they hadn't been talking. She still chewed on whatever she could get ahold of easily when she was nervous clearly because he saw her chewing on her straw. And he was sure that all her other little habits were still around too. Honestly, the only difference Kaiden could see right now in this Alix from the one he knew was that she no longer had glasses on and she'd changed her hair a little. But neither of those things were bad.

"I just wanted to see if you'd meet me at our hangout spot after school today?" He finally said not wanting to hold her up if she really did have to help Mr. Foster. "Don't feel pressured though, I'll be there after school if you'd like to join me and if you don't show up I'd totally understand. I have to get to class though so hope I didn't make you late to anything important," he added before deciding to leave it there and walk away. Because this way she wouldn't feel pressured into giving him an answer, and nothing happened nor did they mingle for too long so it wasn't like anything could be said to anyone to look at the situation wrong.
Ellie saw the letter in Jake's hand when he pulled it out of his pocket and she thought she was going to faint. "Where did you get that?" she asked him feeling her heartbeat speed up a little bit. This could not be happening. That letter was supposed to be securely hidden in her room with the other letters never to be seen by anyone other than herself. But he had it in his hand, she'd seen it. And if he had his letter, then she could only imagine who else had one.

Ellie quickly scanned the halls to see if people were watching them, only to catch eyes with Andrew who it looked like was walking towards them, and he had a letter in his hand. This was not good and she was actually starting to panic a little. How had this happened? She'd put everything back into the box it was supposed to be in and then put the box back in its spot before she'd gone on her walk. And it wasn't like she pulled the things out very often. Right now logic wasn't working, and she did not have the energy this early to deal with anything like this so Ellie just kind of reacted to try and avoid Andrew because that was just too messy this early. And that's how she'd ended up lip-locked with Jake against her locker until Andrew was gone.

She let out a sigh and ran her fingers through her hair more confused than before. "I um have to get to class," she said actually wondering what alternate world she'd woken up in and if there was any way to fix it.

What the hell just happened? Alix blinked her bright green eyes in confusion as she listened to Kaiden. She was not expecting him to invite her to hang out so suddenly. Especially after not even looking in her direction in going on two and a half years. This was just weird. "Ugh.." Was the only thing that escaped from her mouth as she watched the popular boy walk away after just unleashing something like that onto her.

Turning around, Alix stood quietly and just watched Kaiden walk away. The sight of his broad shoulders and the way that he carried himself now drastically different then when they first entered high school. He was not the boy she once knew, physically speaking at least.

The sound of the warning bell caused Alix to jump and bring her out of her thoughts. Pulling her back to reality and out of her thoughts of Kaiden. Her first crush and only one who ever held the title of her best friend. The one why broke her heart when he pushed her away because he rather hangs out with a different crowd then goof around with her. Slowly, Alix turned back in the direction that she was to go in and started to walk once more. She had no idea what had just happened, much less if she was going to meet up with him or not.

    --

"Where else?" Jake asked as he tilted his head to the side at the question. "The mailman delivered it." His lips slowly moved into a teasing grin. Amusement danced along in Jakes' eyes as he watched how Ellie was reacting. It was like she had no idea she had sent him her little confession.

"You know-" Jake was going to tell her he was sorry but stopped as her lips pressed against his. An from there it was just kind of natural. His hands moving to hold onto her hips as he leaned down slightly so that the kiss was a little bit easier to handle. It's not like he hadn't kissed other girls before, he had plenty of practice with his girlfriends, so this just felt like one of those times.

Although, when she pulled away, Jake realized what he had just done. A look of shock appearing on his lips as he instantly let her go. "Uh, okay." He murmured and just stood up straight as he turned to watch Ellie walk off. His eyes only focused on the girl running from him as others moved about them, slowly gossiping about what had just happened.

"Did I miss something?" Kaiden asked his friend Jake when he saw him moments later on his way to class being left at a locker by a girl Kaiden knew was no Rebecca. "Aren't you and Becca still a thing?" He asked not wanting to pry too much into business that didn't involve him, though he wouldn't admit it Kaiden did think Jake should end things with that girl. She was actually no good. And Kaiden thought that after having countless conversations with at least two of his guy friends who'd dated her, a girl he was friends with, and Becca's most recent lackey she 'let go'. The girl was a mess and honestly from what he'd heard she was more trouble than she was worth. But he also knew that he couldn't just tell Jake to break things off with his girlfriend because no one liked her. "Who was that anyway?" He added feeling like he'd seen her around but he couldn't place her name. Not that he was thinking of trying to take her for himself or anything.

Honestly right now Kaiden was more than happy to think and talk about girls or anything else that Jake may have wanted to talk about because it would take his own mind off later that night. He hoped that Alix would show up because he wanted to at least talk to her and get everything out into the open with her. But he also knew that there was a chance she wouldn't show up at all. And he really wouldn't blame her, not after how he'd acted the last four years at least. But he was holding onto hope that they could just look past all of that.
Ellie had no idea what had come over her. Why had she just kissed him like that? Why had she kissed him at all? She couldn't answer that. Ellie knew that Jake had a girlfriend and whether she liked her or not didn't matter. Ellie did wish though that she could just deal with things straight on rather than like this though because now not only did she still have to worry about Andrew and the letter, she had to worry about Jake, his letter, and the fact that it looked like she was totally into him because she'd kissed him right there in the hall in front of everyone. All because she didn't want to deal with someone else. This was a hole she didn't know how to get out of.

    "Hey, Ellie,"

She turned quickly to see Johnathan Roberts from freshman year next to her.

"Hey, Johnathan," she said pretty sure she knew exactly what was coming.

"Look, I wanted to let you know that I appreciate your kind words and I had a lot of fun that night too, but well you know I don't feel that way about girls right?"

Ellie sighed and ran her fingers through her hair again. "I know that," she said laughing softly. "And you're welcome to totally disregard that letter entirely. I don't mean to sound harsh but you weren't supposed to ever read it. Plus I wrote it, freshman, year before you'd even come out I think. Honestly, I don't know how it got out and I'm literally so embarrassed," she said sighing. Could the day get any worse? And it had only just started.

Walking into the studio that room that held the tv equipment for the school's news shows and the radio equipment on the other side, it seemed to take the edge off of Alix's shoulders. She just loved the idea of creating something unique and this room allowed for all of that. She could be a news anchor one day and a radio host the next, or she could simply be an editor. It was awesome.

"Ah! Alix! There you are! I need you to assign the partners for the advanced students. I have a bigger beginner class than expected." Mr.Foster said as he handed Alix her assignment. She didn't actually have the first hour this year so Mr.Foster had asked her to step in as an assistant. Which she excitedly accepted. "Absolutely," Alix said as she took the papers from the teacher and went into his office to start working on the assignment for him while he started getting things for his class started.

    --

"Uh...yeah.. you did," Jake said as he glanced towards Kaiden as he raised a hand and ran his fingers through his hair. "Dude, I don't even know what just happened. Becca is going to be so pissed if she finds out." A small groan escaped from Jake as he could just see the argument that might happen within the next day or so. "Ugh, I really don't want to fight again."

"Elliott Ramey," Jake said as he glanced towards the direction that Ellie walked. His tall height did nothing to help though because it seemed that the girl had disappeared. "She really turned into a hot girl." He said as he looked back towards Kaiden, any hint of hin feeling bad before gone. Sure, he didn't want to argue with Becca over it, but he just knew that they could get over it.

Kaiden wasn't sure how to help his friend out in this situation, and he could only imagine the argument Jake and Rebecca would have over this. Hell, Kaiden could imagine the argument he and Kara would get into if he were Jake's shoes right now and it wasn't a good one. But maybe things would work out in the end. One could only hope anyway. Before Kaiden could try and reassure Jake of anything one of Rebecca's lackeys was walking up to the pair of them to deliver news.

"Becca wanted you to know that it's over with you guys. She's found, someone better for her than you. And she hopes you understand," the girl said before she handed Jake a bracelet before she walked away, and Kaiden was assuming it was one he'd given her and maybe she was giving it back to show it really was over. He didn't know, but Kaiden did know this was really awkward probably for both of them. "I'm sorry dude, that was harsh," he said wondering if there was just something weird in the water that was making everyone act weird today or if it was just first day jitters or something weird.
Ellie walked into her history class and took the first open seat she could find glad that so far it looked like she'd be free from every boy she'd ever liked. Which was a good thing, but she knew that it probably wouldn't last and there was no way her luck could be that good. There was still at least five minutes for it to go totally south. But until then Ellie was going to take whatever time she had left to try and breath again.

"So did you hear that Rebecca dumbed Jake to be with some college guy? Apparently, she met him last night at some party," Ellie heard two girls talking to one another as they walked into class and took their own seats.

She hadn't been expecting that one. At all really. Ellie truly didn't care much for Rebecca but she hadn't expected to hear they were broken up because of some college guy. Honestly, she was kind of thankful that's what they were talking about rather than everyone seeing Jake kiss girl who wasn't Rebecca.
