Gavin looked at her and listened to her talk. “Hey, you should be proud of your work. I mean granted that I haven’t seen much because of the storm,” he said. “But that doesn’t mean it not worth your pride.” He nodded about this being his home. He could understand why it was no one knew about it. He wasn’t going to let anyone know about it for her safety.

Gavin worked on cooking the food next to her. He listened to her talk about her legs. “So you could hide out on land if needed?” he asked, curiously. He had never known that they could grow legs until she had that time he rescued her, and he hadn’t had the time to ask about it then. He wanted to get to know her because she seemed to call to him in ways no one else had ever done.

Lorelei smiled. “It’s nice to meet you too,” she said, looking over at him. “Oh, yeah? No charge?” she asked, curious about him. Mermaids have almost always worked off the if someone saves you, you return the favor no matter if it’s another mermaid or if it’s a mermaid. The no charge thing was just between mated pairs from what she had heard. “Yeah, it would easily give me away if I can’t find a place to hide fast,” she replied. She nodded and was thankful that he seemed to understand.

Lorelei smiled. She went over and got a coconut bowl she had made earlier. “I can make you some. I can survive in both salt and fresh water. It’s what makes me unique, but something else that I can do is turn salt into fresh,” she said. She got some water in the bowl and just focused on the water. Once she saw the salt come to the top in a sheet, she pulled it out and handed it over to him. She smiled listening to him. She was glad that someone had taken him in. When he got to the part about trying to protect her, she couldn’t hold her excitement in. She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. She knew that she probably shouldn’t have, but he was trying to protect her and her kind from being hunted down by even more people.

Cecily smiled and nodded. "Yeah it is beautiful. When it clears up we will take a walk around." she promised and relaxed on the sand. When he asked about hiding on land she laughed. "Yes other than the fact that human culture is weird and interactions would obviously point me out, including the lack of cloths." she said pointing to her bare legs. She was sure he had never seen a girl this naked that he wasn't sleeping with. "I have seen the woman on ships dressed from head to toe in all those layers. I would never be able to wear that much." she laughed and looked up at Gavin. She finished cleaning the food and put it to cook over the fire. She reached over and touched the fish. "It's ready." she said and took them off handing one to him. "Dig in." she said and took a bite of her own.

Billy smiled as he took the water she made for him. "Thank you." he said and drank deeply. Once it was empty he sighed and relaxed. When she wrapped her arms around him for what he had done he blushed and chuckled. "Well I just hope that it helped." he said and rubbed her back. She was so beautiful. "I have done enough harm in my time I needed to do something to help." he said and looked at her as she sat back. "So what have you been up to other than healing?" he asked and and smiled glad to see her looking happier and healthy. It was important that she was okay to him and he wasn't sure why but he knew that he had never felt more relaxed than with her in his arms.

Gavin nodded listening to her. He hadn't thought about the clothing thing for her. He had to imagine that she would be uncomfortable in all the layers, and he couldn't blame her when it was obvious she wasn't used to clothing. "This is good," he complimented after taking a bite. He wondered if she preferred to not be in the shirt at all. He shook that thought out of his head. He needed to be a perfect gentleman to her, his self-respect demanded no less from him. Then there was something about her that attracted him to her and only her. He didn't even look at another girl since he had met Cecily. "You are a master with food," he said.

Lorelei blushed a little pulling back. She had forgotten that she didn't really have any clothes on. Her hair was long enough to act as a cover for the most part, and she was sure that he only spent time around girls with this much exposed when he was sleeping with them. "It's wonderful that you were trying to protect me," she said, not sure if she was ever not going to owe him something. "I have been nurturing this island and the coral reef in the ocean. It went a part when I was taken, and well, I can't leave it to die," she answered. She had to admit to herself that she liked being in his arms and that she hadn't wanted to let go of him, but she didn't want to be clingy to him when they barely knew each other.

Cecily grinned. "Thank you." she said and smiled at him. She was enjoying having the time with Gavin. He was good company and though she wasn't use to company she had truly missed him. It was his spirit, the presence he had was something she couldn't put words to. She chuckled as he said she was a master. "Well I know my island sea to the trees." she said.

They spent the next week and a half in the cave. When they came out she sighed at the disaster that was her island. "Come on I will show you the best place to get cleaned up on the island. You can clean up while I clean up a little." she said and then offered her hand to him and lead him to the trail. She hiked with him up to the waterfall that supplied all the freshwater on her island. She grinned and looked at him. "I will be back don't wonder too far once you're done." she said and headed out leaving him to clean up.

Cecily was gone for probably close to an hour and when she came back she was dressed. She had made something she could wear if ever she needed to go on land out of other cloths she had found. It wasn't really suitable for the mass public but it was more than she had been wearing. She brought a new shirt and some pants that she bought would fit him as well. They were probably more his time than what she had one but this was all the cloths she could make herself wear. She had yet to find something else that would work, it wasn't like she could just go buy the cloth to make it herself.

"Feeling better?" Cecily asked. "Sorry it took so long I had more palms then I was expecting and I didn't want you to judge my little place on the mess it was." she said and turned letting him change. Once he was she turned back to him when he said it was okay too. "Those do look nice, come on." she took his hand and nearly bounced down the trail. It wasn't long before they were coming up on her little place. She beamed and looked at him as he took the place in form the outside. "Well what do you think?" she asked giddy.

Billy grinned. "I am just happy I could help." he said and smiled. "I am sure just from what I see here that your island is beautiful and it needs you." he said and pulled off his shirt offering it to her silently. He didn't want her to be couscous of herself around him. "Can we take a look around?" he asked wanting to see her island. He stood dusting off his pants. He could feel the salt caked on his skin and in his hair making it crispy. It would be really nice at come point to take a dip in one of the freshwater springs, he was sure there had to bring one around. The island was too green not to have one. Billy offered his hand to her to help her up. He smiled at her walking with her towards the greenery. "What do you love about your island the most?" he asked her.

Gavin pulled on the clothes that she gave him. He was a little curious on how she had come across clothes, but didn't bother to care too much. He followed her a long the path. He looked around at the trees, curious as how the rest of the world didn't know about this place. "I'm feeling pretty good," he replied. "And I wouldn't judge you for that." He smiled at her and then looked around to her little place. It was set perfectly into the nature around it, and it looked so calm. "I think it is amazing," he said, complimenting her. "Did you build it?"

Lorelei took his shirt and pulled it on. She had never really gotten to used to having clothes on, but his shirt was loose enough that she didn't feel restrained and long enough to cover her. She smiled and nodded. She wanted to show him her home, and she hoped that he liked it as much as she did. This was her home, and she was proud of it. She took his hand and was pulled to her feet. "Come on. I can show you better than I can tell you," she said. She walked carefully through the trail. It was long before she could here the fresh water springs and the little hill came up, and her little place came into view. She climbed up the stairs and went straight to the opening at the side that looked out over the island. She loved the view the most.

Cecily smiled and nodded as he asked if she built it. "Yes, out of things not he island and things that wash up. We get a fair amount of storms that wash up and sink things around here. Which makes finding things great." she smile at him and lead him inside. She grinned showing him the little kitchen area and the main sitting area. She showed him the dinning area under the house and then back up to the bedroom. "I made the bed because things that come out of the ocean like that aren't in good condition but I did learn some great things." she said and blushed. Once he had a full tour of the house she turned to him. "I don't stay here a lot honestly I'm usually in the ocean but I made it for the days getting back to the ocean are too far." she sat down looking up at him. "You can stay here as long as you like."

Billy walked with her looking around the beauty that was her island and when they got to a house his eyes nearly jumped out of their socket. He looked around going up with her and inside. "Wow... Did you make this place yourself?" he asked feeling like a fool for asking because someone had to and she was the only one that knew of this place. "I mean it's just amazing and huge and must have taken a really long time." he said looking over at her with surprise. She was so much stronger and more resourceful than he could have ever imagined. Billy walked around with her looking at everything. "What made you want to build a place up here? I mean other than the view?" he asked and grinned at her. "Cause who wouldn't want to see that view all the time." he grinned. He was thinking though that she could just come up here if she wanted and didn't have to build though.

Gavin smiled as he looked around and listened to her talk. "It's really nice," he commented. He could see that she was proud of her work, and he could understand why. "It must of have taken awhile for you to get everything you needed," he commented lightly. He looked at her and smiled. "And thank you for letting me stay here," he said. He was touched that she was letting him in her place. He was sure it had taken a lot for her to trust him when he rescued her, and then she had saved him. Now, she was giving him a place to rest. He went to sit next to her.

Lorelei smiled "Yeah, I did build it myself. Mostly out what I could find on the island and what washed up during storms or from sunken ships," she replied as she moved around the area. It was mainly just one big room, but she showed him everything. She nodded in agreement. "Yeah, It did take a while, but so worth it," she said. Lorelei was so happy that he had liked her place. She went and sat down on her bed and looked at him. "I built this place when I want a break from everything and when the ocean is a little much to deal with. Some waves can be a little too dangerous to be in for mermaids like me," she admitted.

Cecily was looking around with new eyes at the home on land she had created. This was her island and she took good care of it from the land to the ocean. "It was hard to find everything, I had to wait for the right things to wash up... or rather sink. I think the hardest part was dragging it onto land and setting it up. I am strong and I have some tricks but still it was hard work.

Cecily felt Gavin slide in next to her feeling the buzzing of the energy between them like a sizzling skillet and she bit her lip nodding. "Oh it's no problem. I mean it's not like you can go straight back into your life right now anyways and the company is probably good for me. "We're not really meant to be solo creatures, we like to run in schools but it's too dangerous we have had to dissolve a lot of the schools of mermaids." she admitted and looked at him blushing. Not to mention all the stories of mermaids dragging men to the bottom of the ocean, she was sure after the first schools disband that it had happened out of the sheer madness the loneliness had drove the mermaids to.

Billy looked her over. He could relate, it seemed she was pulling him under her waves as well, in all the best ways. He could feel his body humming with desire and he ran a hand through his hair. They walked around and he tried to be very attentive to everything she showed him but he was distracted with her and her bare legs. He was a gentleman sure but he was still fascinated in her beauty and wanted to devour that lovely pale skin. He ran a hand through his hair and walked with her grinning as she spoke with such pride.

When she sat down he stood by the side of her bed looking down at her. He was human and she a mermaid, but did she feel it? Did Lorelei feel that electric buzzy between them that made him want to lean into her and capture those beautiful lips, exploring the feeling in every crevice and nook of her body?
