‘No Lisa...I have a boyfriend. Please stop asking.’

‘You don’t have a boyfriend.’

‘Yes I do.’

‘What’s his name?’

‘Ravi,’ he said the first name that came to mind.

Hongbin glared at his manger, ‘no im not pretending to date Wendy. I don’t want to be her fake boyfriend.’

‘Why not?’ The manager was growing frustrated. Hongbin never complained before about this.

‘I have a boyfriend. I can’t date her.’

‘Who?’

‘His name is Jay,’ his best friend turned enemy was the first name that popped into his head.

Ravi was stretched out on the couch, listening to Hongbin argue with their manager. He was trying to get them to fake date other idols for a bit of drama.

Ravi was glad Hongbin was standing his ground though, that was all they could do.

He sat up whenever his phone vibrated. “Hello?” He asked as he answered it.

‘Ravi, listen to me and please don’t hang up. Look I know you hate me now but I really need a favor. But this girl won’t leave me alone about going out with me. I don’t really date people at school so she doesn’t believe me when I tell her I have a boyfriend. Can you please pretend to be my boyfriend for a bit to get her off my back. Please?’

Hongbin picked up his phone, dialing Jay’s number since his manager wouldn’t let this go and the only way to stop him was by getting Jay to pretend to be his boyfriend at least for a few weeks.

Ravi sighed, “really? We’re really doing this? Fine, whatever.” He said. There was a moment of silence, “so what, do I need to pick you up after school?” He asked his ex best friend.

Jay grabbed his phone and didn’t recognize the number but he answered anyways. “Hello?” He asked as he placed the phone to his ear.

‘Yes. She wanted to meet you. Trust me I don’t like this either. It’s only for a few weeks than we can go out separate ways and make something up as to why.’

‘Jay it’s me Hongbin. Wait, don’t hang up. I need to ask you something.’

“Fine. I’ll be up there to get you, I’ll text you when I’m there.” Ravi said before hanging up. He groaned, Raphael was the last person he wanted to see right now.

Jay sighed. “What is it, Hongbin? Make it quick, please. I’m busy.” He lied. He wasn’t busy, he just didn’t want to talk to his ex best friend.

Raphael cussed, ‘great. He had to say Ravi’s name. Why the hell has he been thinking about his ex best friend. He shook his head before walking toward his next class. Fuck my life, he thought to himself.

‘I need you to be pretend to be my boyfriend. My manager wanted me to date some idol girl and I don’t want to do that anymore and when he asked why, I told him I had a boyfriend. I told him it was you. Would you pretend to be my boyfriend for a few weeks to get my manager off my back please?’

Ravi sighed as he got up and went back to one of the spare rooms. He sighed as he sat down. He hadn’t talked to or seen Raphael since they got into a disagreement three years ago and stopped being friends. Now he was going to have to pretend to be his boyfriend. The thought of it made him want to puke.

“Seriously? This is why we stopped being friends. You always dragged me into shit whenever it got bad for you.” Jay groaned. He sighed, “fine, fine. I’ll do it.” He mumbled as he drummed his fingers against the table.

Later that day, Raphael was in a heated discussion with Lisa, ‘Lisa I have a boyfriend. Please stop.’

‘How come we’ve never seen him, you never call or text him around us, he’s probably not real. Are you making him up to get me to leave you alone?’

‘No Lisa, I’m not.’

‘Then I want to meet him.’

‘You will, he’s picking me up today.’

‘I’m sorry for dragging you into this but manager has been trying to get me to date this girl for days. Once it was Bora, then Hyuna, then Lisa, I can’t do it anymore. That drama is to much.’

Ravi leaned against the wall a while later, listening to Hongbin talking on the phone. He raised a brow, hearing bits of the conversation.

“Fine, I’ll do it. What do I need to do?” Jay asked. He just wanted to get him off the phone as quick as possible.

‘Just go on dates with me, attend some of our shows, things like that to show manager and everyone else I am dating somebody and that I don’t want to be set up with the women he’s always trying to get me to date to stir up drama and get the fans excited.’

Jay sighed, “Alright, alright. I can do that.” He said as he looked at the time. “I got to go though, I have my last class in five minutes.” He said. “So, I guess I’ll text you later or something.”

‘Yeah text you later,’ he hung up and looked at Ravi who had an eyebrow raised, ‘what? I’m not dating those idol women anymore. I don’t know what the manager doesn’t get when I tell him I’m gay and don’t like women.’

“The same thing he doesn’t get about me. I’m surprised he hasn’t tried to get us to date each other.” Ravi laughed. “Anyways, who was that? He sounded cute.”

‘His name is Jay. We used to be friends back in middle school and some of high school but we had a falling out. He was always bailing me out when I got in trouble and he got sick of it after awhile.’

“Ah, I had a friend like that. He actually just called me, wants me to pretend to be his boyfriend so these girls at school will leave him alone.” Ravi sighed.

‘So we had two crappy friends who always needed us to bail them out of trouble or is that not the reason you two stopped being friends?’

“It’s more complicated than that. We got into a fight over another guy, it was stupid but things were said and we both were idiots on both ends.” Ravi chuckled.
