Skylar shook his head. "No, I get it. I..." He glanced towards the kitchen, where Cat had disappeared. "It's not a good situation, and I don't want Cat to get hurt. I'm worried too, and I didn't even see what you did. I'm just... trying to be optimistic I guess." He sat back as she pulled away and drank more water, frowning as she mentioned failing everyone. "How? What do you think you can do? You warned us what to expect from April, and that's more than we had before." He paused, realizing she hadn't warned everyone. "Wait, why didn't you tell Jonathan or Cat?"

"You cleaned up my mess last night. More than once, from the looks of my living room. So you just stand there and try to look pretty or something," Cat teased, glancing over at him with a smile before she turned back to the dishes. She accepted what he said about Skylar, since that did sound like something he'd do, but started in surprise and tensed when he mentioned what happened. She took a breath, glancing out at Skylar and Florence at the table together, then back to Jonathan. "Don't apologize. It wasn't her fault," she started, then hesitated before continuing softly, finding herself wanting to give him some sort of explanation, "It's also partially why I threw up last night. Things weren't... great for me before I became Fate. I'm fine most of the time, but sometimes there are just things that make me have bad reactions. Give me a little time when it happens, and I'll be fine. It's nothing to worry about."

"I don't want Jonathan to worry.. If he knows that she gets the dagger, he'll freak out." Florence explained softly, looking at Skylar. "And Cat seems stressed enough as it is. She doesn't need to be worrying about that." Florence had a feeling that Cat had already pushed herself and used her powers based on how odd she'd been acting today, and she didn't want to add anymore pressure that would force either her or Jonathan to overwork themselves. "Please, I'll tell them if I think it's important.. But for now they don't need to know."
Jonathan frowned as he listened to Cat talk about her past, heart aching for the woman. Most Immortals didn't like to discuss their pasts, but to be so affected by hers.. It must have been truly terrible. "I'm sorry.. If I'd known, I would have redecorated." He offered her a little smile, reaching over to squeeze her hand. "It isn't nothing, Cat. I don't know what happened to you, and I don't expect you to tell me, but if there's anything I can do to make the hurt go away at all, please, let me know." He looked at her, squeezing her hand again to let her know that he was serious. "I am Death, after all. And I'm best friends with Time. So, technically I could go kick someone's ass for you, and I'd be more than happy to do so."

Skylar was quiet when Florence mentioned Cat being stressed, a part of him wanting to say that she didn't seem too different from normal, but that went places he knew Cat didn't want others knowing about, so he just kept his mouth shut as he sighed and nodded. "Okay, but only because I think you're right about Jonathan. I know I don't really know him, but he seems kind of intense and like he always wants things done his way." Watching Time, he offered her a little smile. "Starting to feel a little better now?"
"No, no, it isn't your fault. And it's your house. If I'm ever there again, I'll just stay downstairs, and I'll be fine. Don't change anything on my account," Cat insisted, though she couldn't help but relax a bit when he took her hand, wrapping her fingers around his in turn. She smiled a bit at his offer of help, so similar to Nature's, though the thread of bodily harm made her laugh. "Tempting, but I doubt it'd make me feel better." She sobered a bit, staring at their entwined hands as she fiddled with his fingers. "I want to trust you. I'm already starting to, but... You aren't just acting like this because I seem broken and you feel bad for me or you're the kind of person who likes to fix broken things, right? Because I'm fine most days, and even when I'm not, I can take care of it and have been for awhile, but I don't think it's all going away either. And I won't be okay if you're nice now, and I trust you, and you hurt me later. And I don't think you're like that, but I've been wrong before, and I don't ever want to be wrong again, so if you're going to hurt me or run, I need to know."

"He just wants everyone to be safe is all." Florence explained in defense of Jonathan, finishing her glass of water. She offered Skylar a small smile when he asked if she was feeling better, nodding as she rubbed at her eyes, trying to get rid of any remnants of her tears. "I am, thank you.. I'm very full though, so now all I want to do is take a nap." She laughed a little, stretching her legs out lazily with a little groan.
Jonathan frowned as she spoke about trusting him, shaking his head quickly. "Why would I want to hurt you? And there's nothing about you I want to fix, you don't seem broken to me." He paused, pulling his hand away after a moment of thought, a brief look of hurt flashing in his eyes as she spoke about him hurting her and betraying her trust. "Is.. Are you asking because I'm Death?" He asked finally, taking a little step back. Most people assumed he was cruel and mean because of his role as an Immortal, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Sure, sometimes he used a cold exterior, but most people hated him anyway, and it was easier to ignore them and their hurtful words if he acted like he didnt care. Clearing his throat he stepped back, shaking his head again as he turned to dry the glasses she'd already washed, wanting something to focus on. "I'm sorry if I've done anything to make you uncomfortable, it wasn't my intention. But... But just because I'm Death doesn't mean I'm a jerk. Just because other Deaths before me were bad, doesn't mean I am. I'm not like them."

Skylar sighed as he sat back. "I just don't know why he seems to hate me, other than... you know, he keeps finding me doing things he doesn't like..." He trailed off as she confirmed that she was feeling better, laughing. "I know how you feel. Cat makes it way too easy to over-eat with how good her food is." He glanced back at the kitchen, catching a glimpse of what looked like a serious conversation, and turned back to Time. "I'd suggest we could head back to the living room and see about looking in the journals again, but I'm not even sure what we're looking for now, if anything," he admitted.
Cat frowned as she caught Jonathan's brief look of hurt, recognizing the emotion despite how short-lived it was. She wasn't trying to hurt his feelings and tried to use his hand to hold him in place while she spoke, but he pulled back and turned away. "No, no, Jonathan, I'm not--I don't think..." She stepped up close to him again and took both the glass and rag from him. "I'm not asking because I think you're a bad person. I'm asking because I have to be sure, before I let myself open up towards you anymore than I already have." She hesitated, then stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly. "I'm asking because I was abused, and I still have the burns to prove it. Because I trusted someone once, told them everything, and they said they loved me and hurt me anyway. And I just need to hear that you won't do that. I made Skylar say it too, before I told him as much as I've already told you." She pressed her face into his shirt, breathing deep to hold back the tears she felt forming but didn't want to let free. "I just want to know this is real."

Florence patted Skylar's shoulder reassuringly, offering him a little smile. "Jonathan likes order and discipline. Nature is something chaotic, and he comes from a time when people attempted to control nature. He could be a little nicer, but given that and the stress he's under, I can see why it seems like he hates you when he doesn't." She nodded in agreement when he suggested they head to the living room, standing with a little huff before waiting for him to lead the way. "We could keep reading through the journals, I guess.. Maybe look for anything that mentions the dagger, or other magical objects?"
Jonathan started to protest when she took the glass and towel from him, but was silenced when she wrapped her arms around him in a hug and began to speak about her abuse. There was only a moment's hesitation before he wrapped his arms around her tightly, tucking his nose into her hair as he held her close, squeezing her in his arms a bit. "I'm real, Cat. This is real." He murmured into her hair, rubbing her back soothingly as he held her. He felt like an asshole for thinking the way he had and making her share this before she was ready, and he could only hope that he could make it up to her. "I'd never, ever do that to you. I swear. I promise I'll do everything I can to keep you safe, alright? I won't let anyone hurt you again."

Though he wasn't sure about the argument, Florence still made sense. Skylar knew he was kind of a mess, and given how Jonathan didn't seem to like messes, it kind of worked out. Maybe it wasn't reassuring, but it was nice, and he gave her a smile as he nodded. "I still think he hates me a little, but thanks. Maybe once we figure everything out, he'll like me better." When she agreed they should head to the living room, he got up and led the way, being more familiar with Fate's house than she was. "I guess," he offered as they entered the living room, where journals were still stacked on the table and a couple of odd objects he'd never seen before were in the floor. "I guess we could just keep reading the old stuff and work our way to more recent stuff," he added as he picked up the journal he'd started reading yesterday.
Some part of her was afraid that he'd push her away or still find reason to be upset, so it came as a relief to Cat when she felt him hugging her back. Her arms tightened around him, squeezing when he gave his reassurance, and she felt like she could breathe a little easier. "Thank you," she said softly, relief evident in her voice, though he started her with his promise. "It's okay, Jonathan. That's not what I meant. You don't need to protect me," she said, turning her head from his chest so that he'd be able to understand her, though she was unwilling to let go of him just yet. "I just needed to know, for sure." She took a breath and let it out. "I won't hurt you either, just so you know. And I'll never think anything about you just because you're Death. I promise you're always going to be Jonathan first to me." Given some of the things he'd said, it felt important that he know that.

Florence followed Skylar to the living room, smiling over at him as she took a set in the chair she'd been using yesterday. "I don't think Jonathan hates anyone.. At least none of the Immortals." She nodded in agreement when he suggested that they pick up where they left yesterday, grabbing the journal she'd been working through. "Do you need me to make the handwriting clearer again? Or is that one any better?" She asked, offering him a faint smile.
Jonathan held onto her tightly as they stood by the sink, the water still running despite neither of them washing the dishes anymore. He was sure Nature would be upset with them for the waste, but he could care less. He nuzzled his nose into Cat's hair, squeezing her a bit tighter in his arms as she spoke, a little smile spreading on his lips when she promised to think of him as Jonathan first. "Thank you, Cat.. I promise I'll think of you as Cat first, Fate second." He promised in return, gently brushing his fingers through her hair as he held her. He hadn't really fully figured out why he cared so much about her, but he knew that this was nice, and it had been centuries since he'd felt this close to anyone, even though he regarded Florence as a sister.

Skylar took his spot again as Florence sat in the same chair as yesterday, wedging his feet underneath him as he settled in, knowing he was going to be reading for awhile. “That’s good to know. It’s bad enough War hates me—and that one you can’t argue with,” he said, mentally shuddering at the thought of April. She was awful. He wasn’t sure how someone as nice as Florence could be her friend. He opened up the same journal, resigned to squint at the writing, when Time asked about it, surprising him. “Oh yeah, I forgot you did that,” he said and hesitated. “It would be nice, but it isn’t going to make you really tired like yesterday, is it? I don’t want to make you overuse your powers just ‘cause I have trouble reading.”
Though she hadn’t expected to hold onto the hug for this long, Cat felt oddly relaxed in the circle of Jonathan’s arms and decided to just wait for him to move away first. Except he didn’t. She hesitated, listening to distant sound of Skylar and Florence’s voices and the water running nearby, and at last convinced herself that he was waiting on her, letting her get the comfort she wanted, and pulled back. “Thank you,” she said again, softly, as she looked up into his eyes, unsure what to do, and finally turned back to the dishes. “You can go join the others if you want. Or stand around while I finish this. But I was serious about you not helping with the dishes.” There. No more loaded silence where she wasn’t sure what else to say to him. They could be normal again.

Florence shook her head when he said he didn't want her to overuse her powers, reaching her hand out to wipe across the page of his journal like she'd done yesterday, the words becoming much more legible. "This isn't anything to worry about. I was just tired yesterday because I spent so much time looking forward and back, trying to find what we were looking for. Making things easier to read is nothing." She smiled, heart fluttering a little at his concern for her, although she quickly pushed that feeling aside.
Jonathan's arms loosened from around her as she looked up at him, lifting his head from where he'd been resting it against hers to meet her gaze, smirking a little as she said she'd been serious about him not helping with the dishes. "It isn't fair that you've done all the cooking and the cleaning. At least let me dry them? Or put them away? With your help, of course, I don't know where anything is in this house." He laughed, moving to lean back against the counter at her side while she finished the dishes, smiling down at her. He was sure Florence and Skylar were fine, even if he didn't like the idea of them getting too close to one another. But he'd rather spend his time with Cat than keeping the two of them apart.

Skylar was briefly worried he was going to get yelled at again, this time for encouraging Florence to overuse her powers again when she moved a hand across the pages of the journal he held and the text became easier to read, but he was able to relax at her reassurance. "Oh, really? I guess that makes sense; it sounds like the harder thing to do. Thanks for this." He sort of wiggled the journal he was holding before he could think of a better way of indicating what he meant. He was glad he wasn't going to be the reason she overused her powers again though. She'd looked really drained yesterday, and he really didn't want her to exert herself over him again.
With Jonathan standing there smiling and laughing, Cat felt herself relax even more, any nervousness or worries of awkwardness evaporating. "Nope. You are forbidden from touching anything," she responded, smiling sideways at him as she tucked her hair behind her ears and returned to her dishes. "Baking is never a chore, and the process of cleaning up afterwards is soothing, if that makes it feel more fair to you," she added. After filling up the dryer rack, she began to dry and put things up, everything going in its place, saving the plates for last. She stacked them on the counter, then turned and hopped up so that she was sitting on the counter next to them--which put her at a better height for putting them up--and started to stack plates back where they belonged.

Florence smiled, shaking her head. "No, it's not that difficult. Looking through time is the hard part, and some other stuff, but I look through time more often than other things." She explained, nodding a little as he thanked her for helping him with the journal. "No worries, Nature. Happy to help." She said before turning back to her own journal when it looked like he was settling in to read through his. She wanted to keep talking to him, he seemed nice, but she wasn't sure if he wanted to keep speaking to her. She was pretty boring, and she felt like he probably had a crush on Cat, given how close they were, so it wasn't really like she stood a chance or anything. Not that she wanted anything to happen. They were just working together to stop April. And then they'd go back to rarely seeing each other.
Jonathan chuckled at her insistence on doing everything herself, outright laughing when she hopped up on the counter to put the dishes away herself. "You know, that seems very impractical." He teased, as he moved to stand in front of her, moving to take the plates from her. "You don't have to do everything on your own, Cat. Asking for help is perfectly reasonable and acceptable." He grinned, attempting to pry her fingers away from the plates. "You tell me where to put them, and I'll do it." She looked very nice, sitting on the counter like this, and he suddenly had an overwhelming urge to kiss her, and had to force himself to not lean forward on impulse.

Skylar nodded, storing that information for later. It seemed unlikely he'd need it, but at the same time, he liked Florence, and he hoped they wouldn't go back to rare, awkward interactions when this was over. "I gotcha. I guess that makes sense," he said, offering her a smile, and as conversation seemed to come to a stop, like her, he started to look to the journal and tried not to think of other things he could've said. He didn't even make it two pages when he looked up again. "You can call me Skylar," he said abruptly, then backpedalled. "I mean, if you want. Instead of Nature. It kinda feels like we should be on a first name basis, you know? I don't mind Sky either, if that's more comfortable. Or Nature, if that's really what you wanna call me. I just--never mind, I'm overthinking things." He sank in his chair, practically burying his head in the journal he was supposed to be reading, face hot. I'm such an idiot.
Cat gave Jonathan a look that could only be called a pretend-glare when he laughed at her. "It's very practical when you're short and you live alone," she argued, refusing to let go of the plates he attempted to take from her. "Stop it. I'm already on the counter," she laughed when he started trying to pull her fingers away from the plates, pulling back to try and stop him, but it just pulled him closer instead. They were face-to-face, with Jonathan practically pinning her in, but rather than nervous, a different sort of feeling took up residence, one that gave her pause and distracted her enough to give up the plates. "They go right there," she said softly, pointing, and quietly sat there as Jonathan leaned over her to put the plates up. "Thank you." Beating back the weird feelings, she made a shooing motion with her hands. "Now give me a little space so I can get down. I'm not done washing yet."

Florence had settled into her chair to read, although she looked up at him when he suddenly started speaking again, a blush slowly creeping up her cheeks as she listening to him speak. "O-Oh. You can call me Florence, too if you'd like." She blurted about halfway through he was done speaking, speaking at the same time as him out of nerves. "Jonathan calls me Florence, so you can too. And Jonathan and Fate, or, er, Cat, seem to be on first name basis too, so it would make sense if we also used each other's first names. But you don't have to if you don't want to. My name is kind of a mouthful, so I'd understand if you didn't wan to say it all the time." She rambled, voice becoming quieter and quieter as she sunk lower in her chair, wanting to hide herself under the blanket she had draped over her lap so that he wouldn't see how clearly embarrassed she was.
Jonathan grinned a bit as she attempted to pull the plates out of his grasp, keeping a firm hold on them, which only resulted in Cat pulling Jonathan closer to her, the taller man having to release his grip on the plates with one hand to support himself against the counter so he wouldn't lean too far over. He was very pleased when she finally relented, laughing in victory as he placed the plates in the designated spots that the pointed out to him, shutting the cabinet door before chuckling as she shooed him away. "Of course, my lady." He teased, faking a bow as he stepped back to let her down off the counter, although he held out his hands to support her if she needed it, afraid she'd get hurt.

As if everything he was saying didn't sound awkward enough, it was somehow worse when Florence started talking too, their voices overlapping in this nervous word-vomit that they both seemed to want to escape, he noticed as she sank down in her chair as well. Realizing how similar what they'd said was though, Skylar sat up a bit, glancing back at her, though his face was still warm. "No, no, I'd like that! I mean, I like you. Shit, I mean, no more than I like anyone else I guess. Well, more than Death and War for sure. You're really nice and usually easy to talk to and kinda funny sometimes. Not that I'm paying too much attention, I mean." Crap, crap, crap. He was panicking, Face feeling like a furnace, he stuck his hand out. "Hi, I'm Skylar."
Cat rolled her eyes at Jonathan's theatrics, though it was with a smile, accepting his offered hand as she slipped off the counter and back onto the ground, her stomach doing little flips as she looked up at him. "Thank you for your help, even if I had things handled myself," she said, and before her mind even fully processed what she was doing, she pushed herself up on her toes and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. She turned away as a blush scorched her cheeks and turned her focus to the last of her dishes as she mentally attempted to dissect her feelings and actions and figure out what was wrong with her. It wasn't as if he was the first man to act cute around her--Skylar was always being adorable in some way or another--nor was he the first to hear a portion of her secrets--again, Skylar came to mind--but for some reason, she couldn't think of him in the same way or even act similarly.

When she noticed him sit up and start to speak again she sat up too, mirroring him in some way as she leaned over the arm of her chair a bit to look at him. "I like you too! I mean, as a friend obviously. Or just a person. You're very nice, and funny, and not at all like how April talks about you. And I don't think you look like a donkey at all. Not that I ever thought you looked like a donkey, of course. You're very handsome! I-I mean, as far as I know, anyway.." Her face was beet red, and she was sure that her face might melt off it was so hot. She jerked back a little in surprise when he suddenly stuck out his hand, looking at it for a moment before putting her hand in his, squeezing it as she shook it quickly. "Hi, I'm Fedosiya.. I-I mean Florence." Crap. What kind of idiot messes up their own name?
"Not a problem." He smiled, squeezing her hand once she was safely on the kitchen floor again. He blinked in surprise though when she leaned up to kiss his cheek, standing in the middle of the floor for a few moments after she turned away, staring at her for a long moment before clearing his throat awkwardly. "I'll be in the living room. Let me know if you need anything." He said quickly before turning to head into her living room, silently cursing himself for not staying and helping her or saying anything else. His thoughts about how nice it'd felt to have her kiss his cheek disappeared when he spotted Nature and Time sitting next to each other, a bright blush on both of their cheeks as they stammered out a bunch of incoherent words while they stared at one another. He did not like that at all. Clearing his throat he stepped over to Nature, glaring at him before jerking his thumb toward a chair on the opposite side of the room as the one Florence was sitting in. "Move. Now."

Mercifully, this time they didn't talk over each other, and as he slowly realized Florence was handling this just as well as he seemed to be, Skylar found himself relaxing the slightest amount. Not that any sort of relaxation on his part seemed to make the permanent heat in his cheeks disappear any. And she was actually really cute stumbling over what to say--enough that he didn't question the donkey thing--and he smiled timidly as she shook his hand. "Nice to meet you," he said softly, though he was prevented from asking about the name thing as a shadow moved over him at the same time he heard a throat clearing. Oh shit. He glanced up to find Jonathan glaring down at him, and it didn't take much consideration of the order to move for him to jump up from the chair and retreat to the other side of the room where he sank down on Cat's couch. He glanced back up at Florence though, offering her a little smile as he finally felt his face begin to cool.
Cat let Jonathan leave and finished up the dishes on her own. When she at last ran out of things to do, she slumped against her counter and rested her head against the countertop with a groan. She hoped she was so open with Jonathan because he made it easy to be, and it was a sign that they were going to end up being really good friends, but what if she liked him? Nothing had turned out well for her the last time she'd fallen for someone, but that couldn't be this, not after so long? Was it her body telling her it wasn't interested in celibacy anymore? Or maybe she was overthinking it all. He'd told her very plainly just yesterday that he wasn't interested in anyone, after all, so she just needed to shove everything down a deep dark hole and pretend it didn't exist, and everything could be normal. Or as normal as it could get. Taking a deep breath, she picked herself up off the counter and finally left the kitchen to find everyone sitting in the living room. There was some tension, as if something was going on, and she glanced between everyone in question as she settled herself on the couch beside Skylar. "...Is something happening?"

Florence was relieved that Skylar didn't seem put off by her rambling, and his smile as they shook hands was rather reassuring. However, before she could say anything more Jonathan appeared and cleared his throat, the surprise of which nearly had the poor girl jump out of her skin. She quickly sank back into her chair and started paying attention to her journal, not that she was really reading it anyway, too busy wondering why Jonathan seemed upset, and thinking about how nice Skylar's smile was. When she was sure Jonathan wasn't looking she glanced up over her journal to where Skylar now sat on the other side of the room, blushing faintly at the small smile that he offered her. She returned his smile and waved a little, although Jonathan clearing his throat again quickly ended that, and Time shifted her focus back to the journal.

Jonathan had plopped down in Skylar's empty seat as soon as he'd vacated it, glaring daggers at the man as he tried to piece together what he could possibly want with Florence. He want opposed to them getting along, but Nature wasn't the kind of guy he pictures Florence with. He seemed to casual and uncaring, and he knew he'd kill the man himself if he ever broke her heart, so it was better just to avoid any potential murders by keeping them apart. When Cat sat down next to Skylar he relaxed a little, his glared disappearing for the most part, although he did fix Nature with one last hard look before his eyes softened completely when he looked at Fate. "Everything is fine. Nature and Time are just busy looking for more information in your journals."

Florence was wrong--way wrong. Death wanted to kill him. Skylar had received nothing but glares all morning, and now he'd been forced across the room for whatever reason Jonathan had. He couldn't even look up without being pinned down by a glare. He was pouting into the journal he held but hadn't really read since the whole word-vomit thing with Florence when he heard a familiar noise at the back of his mind. He'd come to think of it like an alarm system, one that unfortunately alerted him every time a cat knocked something off a countertop or a dog managed to open a door. He always checked just to make sure everyone was okay though, and with Jonathan glaring at him, he pets couldn't have picked a better time. "Actually, I have to go for a few minutes," he said, shortly after Cat showed up, setting aside the journal he'd been holding. "I think one of my cats just knocked something over, but I like to check to be on the safe side."

Though she narrowed her eyes at Jonathan, knowing he wasn't being entirely truthful given the tension in the room, Cat let it go when Skylar announced that he was leaving for a few minutes. "No, go ahead. And give Sprite a kiss for me. We'll be here when you get back," she assured him, and soon he'd teleported, leaving her with Florence and Jonathan. She glanced between them, but ultimately had no idea what was going and decided to leave it be as she picked up a journal. No one except Jonathan seemed to realize that she was shaking, and she'd managed to hide the occasional scratching so far. She didn't want to make it worse again by looking at more objects directly, and given Jonathan's reactions, was sure that he'd stop her as soon as he realized what she was doing anyway. It was the quicker option, and they'd found out something from it, but now they had to find something else. And she no longer had a narrow pool of objects.
After teleporting from Cat's, Skylar arrived back in his place, where he started to look around, seeing nothing immediately out of place--which wasn't unusual. There weren't any guilty animals either though, which was slightly more suspicious. When he heard barking, he followed it down the hall towards his bedroom, eyes widening as a familiar figure turned towards him. "Umm, h-hi War. What-what are you doing here? Did you need something?" He was suddenly very conscious of the key he had in his pocket and the fact that he was supposed to keep it hidden, especially from War. He just had to act like his normal self. She didn't even know they had the dagger.

Florence frowned as Skylar suddenly stood and said that he had to leave, feeling like it was her fault for making him uncomfortable. Yes, Jonathan glaring hadn't helped, but if she'd just kept her mouth shut and not said all that stupid stuff to him about thinking he was handsome, then maybe he wouldn't have left. She kicked Jonathan in the shins to get the point across that she was mad at him before sinking into her chair as she read through the journal.

Jonathan winced when Florence kicked him, giving her a look which she clearly ignored before he turned back to Cat, who clearly also didn't believe that nothing was going on before she'd arrived. He wasn't about to say anything bad about her friend, so he simply shrugged and leaned back in his chair. "So, Florence has looking through the journals covered. What should we do? Maybe there are more magical artifacts we could look for? Or more information about the dagger from sources other than the journals?"
If April had to fight by herself against four other Immortals, of course she was going to target Nature first. He was the newest, and the weakest, so it made sense. And because he and Fate were friends, there was a chance that he had information on her that she could use to her advantage. She hadn't expected his house to be a fucking zoo, and was shooing away animals as she wandered through his home, using her magic to feel out for any secret compartments or magical items. There was always the chance that he had the damned dagger she'd been looking for for years, or at the very least knew where it was.

She turned to him quickly when she heard him round the corner in the hall, smirking a bit as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Hello, Nature... What are you hiding?" She asked as she stepped forward, grabbing a dog leash from the top of a dresser as she walked past. Incapacitating him would be easy, but getting him to talk.. that would be the fun part.

(I figured next post we could skip ahead however many minutes/hours) to when Cat and Jon have gone off somewhere to look for something, and Florence gets worried and goes to look for Skylar)
