Kelden groaned against her mouth, loving the feeling of her hands on his body. There were a million things he wanted to do with her right now but she was pulling off his boxers and he could feel how wet she was. He stared into her eyes, knowing that his eyes were mirroring the same intense desire he saw in hers. “As slow as you need,” he promised her. He caressed her cheek.

He held her as she lowered herself onto him, letting her take the time she needed. He wrapped his arms around her gently, feeling her tremble. He held her like that, still and murmuring gentle words to her to remind her that he was the one here with her now and that she had full control. Eventually Kell felt her shift, and he looked into her eyes as she leaned her forehead against his. He held his breath at her words and he took her face in his hands. “Hazel, I love you. I love you with all my heart and I promise... I promise you that I will protect yours with everything that I am,” he vowed. He meant every word.

And then they were moving together, slowly. He took time with her, letting her know with every movement that he loved her. He cared so deeply for her and as he kissed her, moving in and out of her gently, he felt the love that she returned right back. He made love to her, gently and sweetly, kissing her and moving deep within her.

Hazel felt the seconds tick by as his entire being was still before he told her the most beautiful words she had ever heard. She melted at his words releasing the sigh she hadn't known she had been holding. Hazel looked into his sweet caring eyes. Her throat tightened and her stomach dropped and she felt every once of those words for him but they wouldn't come out. She was afraid if she said them then the universe would take him from her.

As they moved she kissed him back her hands in his hair as his hands moved carefully over her body. His hands helped her rock over him moving with slow desire. He body burned with the need to feel him, to be connected to him. "Kelden." she moaned his name into his ear. Her voice was breathy and called for more of him. She rocked her hips a little faster her breathing coming out hard as they held onto each other.

Hazel leaned back her body arching against his for him to explore. She wanted his mouth against her as she felt his arm holding her up as she held onto his shoulders. She let her eyes close her body taking over and the pleasure starting to increase inside of her.

Kelden’s breath began to come out faster as he pumped into her, keeping up with her increasing rhythm. Hearing her moan his name sent chills of pleasure down his spine and he let out a soft groan of his own. “God, Hazel, you feel so good,” he told her. She leaned her head back and her supported her with one hand splayed on her back, his other hand reaching to palm her supple ass.

His lips found hers, their tongues moving together as their bodies did. He trailed his fingers down her stomach and down further. “May I?” He whispered, wanting to make sure he had her permission before he touched her. He watched her nod her head and then he began stroking her clit with his thumb, making gentle circles in time to how he moved inside of her.

Kelden kissed down her chest, moving to her breasts. There he kissed a nipple, taking it in his mouth and sucking gently. He flicked his tongue over the bud and was intensely pleased to feel and hear her reactions to his actions. He wanted to make her feel good, to help her reclaim this as hers, as something that could and should be pleasurable and never something of fear.

As Kelden started to rub her tender nub of nerves she moaned her body instantly reacting. Hazel's hips rolling quicker now as the pleasure rose inside threatening its release. She gasped her body trembling as his mouth encased her nipple. His movements each caused her to gasp and then she moaned long and low. "Kell... Kell. I'm going to-" she panted breathlessly as her body ached and the tint of her skin at his attention only added to the pleasure written across her face.

Hazel clung to Kelden as she gasped out a moan and her body released. Her orgasm made her hips rock over his faster and her whimpering was not the most quiet as her orgasm coursed through her. She looked down at Kelden and she ran her hands down his chest as she moved closer to him. She leaned her head down on his shoulder breathing him in as her hips started too slow.

As she leaned into him his arms held her to him and she moved lazily against him her arms holding him. "Kell you mean everything to me. There is no one I can rely on more than you." she said and leaned down pressing a kiss to his lips sweetly.

Her moans of pleasure were driving him wild and he wasn’t sure how much longer he’d be able to last like this. Suddenly she gasped that she was close and he felt her walls tighten around him. He released her nipple and moaned into her neck in an attempt to quiet the sound. Her hips rolled over his frantically and he felt his own release come over him at the feeling of her orgasm.

They clung to each other for a few minutes, panting and enjoying the last waves of pleasure. He stared up into her eyes and listened to her words, smiling up at her as she said them. “You mean the world to me, Hazel. I will keep you and your heart safe,” he murmured to her. He returned her sweet kiss and tucked her close to him.

“Stay with me tonight?” He said, posing it as a question. He always wanted her to have a say, but he did hope she would stay. He wanted nothing more than to snuggle her in close and fall asleep to the sound of her breathing next to him. He pressed a soft kiss to her head.

Hazel trailed her fingers over his skin as he held her. She believed him when he said he would keep her safe. She didn't know what they were going to do or what would happen but she believed Kelden. She could feel the truth in his words.

She smiled as he asked her to stay with him tonight and she nodded. "Yes." she said softly. Hazel shifted off of him her body sliding against his to lap by his side near the wall. She snuggled into him her leg wrapping around his and her head on his shoulder. She hummed as he kissed her head. Hazel wanted to thank him for being so gentle and understanding of her but she knew he would brush it off.

She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths as if trying to stay awake. She didn't want this to end. She wasn't ready for whatever came next all she wanted with this moment. She couldn't help the sagging in her eyelids though. She clung to him. Her breathing started too slow and no matter how she fought she as falling asleep. Before she knew it she was sleeping naked and completely relaxed with Kelden.

Kelden held her close, softly stroking her skin as her breathing slowed. He would give anything to just stay like this forever. “I love you, my dearest Hazel,” he whispered to her and closed his eyes once he was sure she was asleep. He fell asleep easily, the comfort of her warm body against his lulling him into the most peaceful rest he’d gotten since they’d gotten her.

All too soon, buttery sunlight was slipping in through the cracks in his blinds and Kelden turned his head to avoid it. He buried his face into long hair next to him in an attempt to block out the sun. The scent of her filled his nose and a gentle sigh escaped his lips. Waking up to her against him like this was heavenly. It crossed his mind that if he would give anything to wake up like this every day for the rest of his life. Kell felt her stirring and he pressed a gentle kiss to her head. “Good morning Beautiful,” he said to her, tracing lazy circles on her skin. All too soon they would need to be up and starting the day but he wanted to enjoy this moment for as long as he could.

“How’d you sleep?” He asked. He himself felt more well rested than he had in a while and definitely gave her credit for that. He put a hand to cup her cheek and then leaned in to kiss her, trying to keep it sweet. He knew it was a fine line they walked and the gentlest of pushes would have him making love to her again right here and now.
June had only woken up once in the night when Drake had to get up for his shift on the night watch. She’d felt him stir and had tiredly given him a quick kiss, already missing the warmth of him next to her. She eventually drifted back to sleep but snuggled into the spot he’d been in.

In the morning, she’d bathed and dressed quickly, knowing today Drake would be taking her to teach her to shoot. She was still nervous but trusted Drake’s guidance. He looked like he was just getting finished with a patrol around the outside of the house when she ran into him in the main room and smiled shyly. Maybe she’d been a little forward asking him to stay with her last night but she had really enjoyed his company. It relaxed her to be near him.

“Good morning,” she said. “Hungry?” She was on her way to the kitchen to make some breakfast. June was surprised that Hazel didn’t seem to be already up, she was usually the earliest riser, save for whoever had the second guard shift in the night.

Hazel woke to a nose pressing into her hair and arms dragging her closer to the warm hard body behind her. She smiled softly her mind humming his name. "Kelden." she whispered as she felt his lips against her forehead. It was something to be said that he was who she expected to be there. It was a huge milestone for her.She rolled over looking up at him and hummed feeling his fingers on her skin. "Good morning." she grinned huge as her lips met his.

"I slept hard. I don't think I even moved." she grinned and stretched out. She hadn't actually slept without being aware since it had all began. She ran her hand through his hair looking at him with still sleepy eyes as she was still waking up. "You look well rested." she smiled and pushed his hair back and grinned. "You need a haircut." she grinned then rubbed his scruff that had grown overnight. She kissed him again. "And a shave you prickly grizzly." she teased and sat up his sheets slipping down her body. "Hand me my cloths?" she smirked as she looked back at him.

Hazel had no regrets about last night and she hoped that he didn't think it was a one time thing. She wanted Kelden. She wanted him in every way. His words from last night echoed in her head. I love you with all my heart and I promise. She couldn't believe this sexy amazing man wanted her and loved her. She was still worried this would end and the feelings would fade that distance would make it all disappear.
Drake came in and grinned seeing June all fresh looking. "Good morning." he smiled and followed her into the kitchen. "I will never say no to more of your cooking." He grinned as he leaned back against the counter. "Did you want help with anything?" he asked her watching how she moved so gracefully around the kitchen. If there was an art form for cooking then June would win every time in his book.

Drake moved over to her and pressed a kiss to her cheek his hand snaking around her waist so she would skirt away before he could plant that affection against her silky skin. He knew what they needed to do today but he wanted to wait until after breakfast. It had been too long before they had talked about the case between all of them. Drake wanted to get June's statement and he was hoping that Hazel and Kelden would start to work on what they did have. Hazel had a mind most agents would envy. The problem came that she had gained the knowledge of this psycho all through experience. She would personally know more but it wasn't just that. He didn't know Hazel before this but he was guessing she would have been a good agent before all this. Part of him wondered if it was something she had given thought to after this. She would be invaluable.

Drake didn't think he could ask that of June. He knew everyone protected her and he couldn't place why it was. Maybe it was the way she held her pain and dealed with everything. Not that it was wrong but it wasn't how agents worked and he wouldn't change that about her. Drake grinned softly while he looked at her. He could see she had caught him thinking and her rubbed his neck. "It's just my mind working over some details." he said not telling her much. He would talk more after breakfast. "How did you sleep?" he asked though he knew he had woken her up when he left.

Kelden loved her sleepy smile and he was very glad she had slept well. He grinned at her as she rubbed his scruff and he nuzzled into her playfully. “You don’t like it?” He teased, laughing. She wasn’t wrong, he definitely needed to shave and trim this morning.

He climbed out of bed and scooped up her clothes from last night, along with his boxers. He handed her her clothes and quickly put on his boxers before reaching for new clothes for today. When they were both clothed, he gave her a soft kiss to have the moment last just a little longer before they faced the day.

“Okay,” he sighed. “We ought to show our faces before they start to worry why it’s taking so long for us to get up.” He held the door for her, following her out into the hall before heading to the bathroom. He really did need to shave.
June smiled but shook her head. “I think I’ve got it, thank you though,” she said. She was enjoying his arm around her waist and his sweet kisses too much to put him to work. She was quick to put together some eggs, bacon, and hash browns, even throwing some toast in the toaster.

Drake was looking distracted so she gently touched his arm. “Everything okay?” She asked. He rubbed his neck and just explained that he was lost in thought. She wondered what about but had the feeling that if he wanted to share with her, he would, so she didn’t push it.

“I slept well,” she said, which had been true for most of the night when he’d been with her. “I missed you though,” she added more quietly, a soft blush coming to her cheeks.

Hazel giggled as Kelden used his scruff against her bare skin. "Prinkly!" she pushed at him and chuckled. She took her cloths from him slipping into them and watching him dress. "I could watch you dress and... undress for hours." she teased and slipped out of the bed placing a tender kiss on his cheek then hummed as he kissed her softly. She wanted to tell him she would give him a shave but he was right she had already slept in and now she needed to get going.

Hazel moved to her room humming as she looked through her cloths. She felt light as air and decided she was going to stay barefoot today so she picked out an outfit to match her mood. Once she pulled on the vest she brushed through her hair and put a little eyeshadow on before moving down the stairs bouncing as she moved.

Hazel walked into the kitchen and smiled at the snuggly couple making breakfast. "Good morning lovelies." she sang coming around and over to June placing a noisy kiss on her cheek and snagging some cooked bacon chuckling as she was shooed away from the food. "Okay okay but just remember she was mine first." she teased Drake and he smirked.
Drake grinned and kissed her head. "I missed you too. I much rather have been in your warm arms until the morning but I will just have to dream of that until it becomes our reality." he smiled at her knowing they still had a lot of work to do to catch this sick bastard. He watched her cook touching her when he could but letting her go when she had some kind of cooking task to do.

When Hazel came down the stairs in an exceptional mood he raised a brow. "Someone's cheery today. Did you dream something particularly enjoyable?" he asked and wiggled his brows. Hazel laughed it off the light airy sound telling him more then what she didn't say. Drake looked at June and raised a brow in question. He wondered if she had ever seen her like this either. "You're up kinda late for you and skipped running or yoga..."

Drake grinned as Hazel through a piece of toast at him. He caught it and took a bite. "Fine distract me with June's cooking but I will find out." he enjoyed teasing her. Hazel smiled and he knew she did as well. They all felt like a family. He looked back at June and sipped his coffee. "What's up with her?" he grinned. As Kelden finally came down the stairs he swore if he had been whistling it wouldn't have been any more clear. They both had a good night? Yep something happened between them and it didn't take an FBI agent to figure it out. They all sat down to breakfast and Drake held June's hand eating with his non dominate hand and finding the struggle hilarious.

Kelden couldn’t stop the silly grin on his face as he shaved. He felt like he was on top of the world. He finished his shave and even did a trim on his hair. He felt so awake, so alive today. He came into the kitchen a while later, a spring in his step. He winked at Hazel as she took in his cleanly shaved appearance. “Good morning everyone,” he said cheerfully. The table was being set and he had arrived just in time. He took his place, sitting between Hazel and Drake.

His attention drifted between his food and Hazel as they ate, completely missing the meaningful looks between his partner and June. He was slightly more aware that he and Hazel were being a bit obvious that something, an amazing something, had happened between them but he didn’t care. He wanted to shout from the rooftops that he’d spent a wonderful night with an amazing woman whom he loved with every fiber of his being.

He took a bite of his food and swallowed before addressing the whole table. This time he didn’t miss the barely contained knowing grins on June and Drake’s faces. “Anything on the agenda for today?” He asked. If the day was free, he thought he and Hazel could do their usual morning routine, albeit later than usual. They could still go for a run and work on sparring. Then maybe out for another picnic at the meadow.
June laughed as Hazel came into the kitchen and gave her a dramatic kiss on the cheek. “Good morning to you too!” She said to her friend. Hazel seemed very happy this morning and it made June’s heart soar to see. She playfully shooed her away as she stole some of the bacon, not really minding. She was just happy that Hazel was happy. When Drake caught her eye, she just shrugged, also unsure of what had caused such an energetic mood but not questioning it.

As they got the table ready, Kelden joined them and that was when it began to dawn on June what might have happened. She gave a wide eyed look at Drake, trying to hide the smile on her lips. Something had clearly happened between the two and it had caused both of their late starts. She’d have to get more details from Hazel later.

She held Drake’s hand as she ate, gently stroking her thumb over the back of his hand occasionally. She watched and Hazel and Kelden could barely keep their eyes off of each other through breakfast and June couldn’t contain the smile that curled the edges of her lips. She was so happy for her friend, glad that Hazel was healing and that Kelden was helping her with that.

Hazel couldn't help how enamored she was with Kelden. Everything inside of her sang with desire and affection for him like she had never known before. Hazel had her puppy love and her young romances but she had never felt something like this with anyone, not even close to this feeling with anyone else.

Kelden asked about the agenda for today and Hazel watched Drake look down rubbing his neck. "I wanted to talk to you all about that." he said. He wasn't sure how to say exactly what he was thinking without completely ruining the mood and spoiling appetites.

Hazel frowned and she knew. She just knew that reality would need to hit her back in the safe and she could see how Drake hated it but he was right of course. It was time to get back to reality. Drake looked up at her and frowned. "We need to decide when we are going to work on the case. It's been weeks since we were suppose to start on it. I know it's hard and if there was any other way..." he said and Hazel put up her hand to stop him. "I still don't think there is anything the police or the FBI can do for me that they have already failed in doing." she said and took Kelden's hand. "You two are different, you're a part of this now." she shook her head. "My point is Drake's right and the time is never more perfect than now." she said and sighed softly. "After breakfast is cleaned up." she said and finished up her food, or as much as she could stomach before she went to clean up.

Drake frowned and sighed. He wished he wasn't right and that all of this was just something that would go away on its own but they had to do this and the girls were the key, the only ones that knew the story and the details no one else could see. "Alright." he said. "June we still need to do your statement. Either I can do that with you or Kelden can if it makes you feel better." He said and took her hand softly squeezing it. He looked at Kelden then wondering his thoughts.

The mood grew somber and Kelden almost wished he hadn't brought it up. But Drake was right and that sick fuck needed to be caught so the girls could return to their normal lives. He wanted to be a part of Hazel's life, in the way they were at the meadow, and last night, and this morning, more than just work. And that would only happen if he and Drake got to work. He squeezed Hazel's hand. He knew the FBI had failed her in so many ways, he wanted to fix that. He refused to be another failure to her.

They finished breakfast and Kelden helped clear the table before returning to sit with Drake and June again. June looked sick. The last thing she wanted was to relive the experience again and especially to Drake. She knew he already knew most, if not all, that had happened but the idea of telling him herself, of going over every detail made her feel dirty. Like exposing everything herself would make him disgusted with her. The part of her that was healing told her she was being ridiculous and that Drake would never think less of her because of what she'd gone through, but the raw, exposed wound in her heart that hadn't healed yet screamed at her to shut everyone and everything out before they saw it.

June felt Drake squeeze her hand and she looked up at him. She felt a wave of panic coming on. "I think I need a minute," she choked out. She stood quickly but forced herself to take the stairs at an even pace. When she was at the top though, the short leash she had on her panic gave way and she had to sprint for the bathroom. She lost her breakfast in the toilet, heaving even after there was nothing left. She heard a knock and a moment later, Hazel was with her, holding back her hair.

Kelden rubbed his face as June disappeared from the kitchen. She had looked pale and he remembered Hazel's own reactions to having the relive the nightmare for him to take her statement. He felt for the both of them. "I'll see what I can find out about that woman from the fair." He told Drake. "I gave the report to the agency the night of, but they weren't able to do much with the info. They suggested that she was just a nosy reporter that happened to recognize the girls but I suspect there was more to it than that. In any case, I'm going to do some research into any and all local news agencies and see if I can find her there. If she is a reporter then at least we'll know who she is and who she works for. If not, then we'll have a person of interest that may be able to give us a lead."

Hazel frowned as she watched June move from the room in that way she had done all too often herself. She sighed and walked over to Drake and patted his shoulder as he slumped feeling awful for ruining the mood. She hoped he knew that it was for the best and they were all grateful for the reminder of why they where here.

Hazel moved up to the bathroom hearing June and knocked softly before slipping in. She frowned and moved over to her. Hazel leaned in and pulled her hair back rubbing her back as she continued to empty anything that cloud be in her stomach. She didn't know what to say to her because Hazel had had the same reaction to telling her story only hers had started after she had started to tell it. "What are you afraid he will find out?" she asked. She knew Drake wanted to be there for June and June needed him to be there too. Although this was a level of trust that took fighting against everything inside you telling you that your worthless and don't deserve kindness because that is what that psycho had really destroyed. Physical wounds healed but the mental wounds they would battle the rest of their lives.

"Do you want me to be there with you?" she asked. She didn't think that she would but Hazel needed to offer it to her. She was relieved when the dry heaving stopped though June still looked sick. Hazel flushed the toilet and grabbed a cloth and wet it cleaning June up. She looked into her face. "You don't ever talk about it. I know you don't want to live it again even in your mind but you can't heal if you leave it inside. You need to share the weight of it with someone. And Drake is willing to do that with you." she stroked her hair hoping these words helped her.
Drake looked up at Kelden and nodded. "If June doesn't ask Hazel to stay you should have her help you. She has a sharp mind for the details." he said and sat back running a hand through his hair. He sighed not knowing how he could do this. "When Hazel told you... how did you stand it?" he asked wondering what he had done to hold off his own emotions so he could be there for Hazel.

Drake thought back to when they had arrived to the hospital and the doe eyes women in the bed that's only question was about Hazel. When Drake was young and he had spent time with his sister she was self centered. Granted she was just a kid but she hadn't been concerned of others. He remember when him and his father were building this tree house when his brother was away at camp. His sister had bugged them the entire time telling their father that she wanted to learn to ride a bike or to play tea time with him. Anything she could think of to take the time Drake got with his father away. Drake hadn't understood it then but since he had grown up he knew his sister was just afraid. She had ben afraid of loosing the one person closest to her. Fear had a tendency to reveal the true nature of people. Hazel fought and ran in fear. She depended on herself but June. June reached for others and cared for those that showed themselves true to her.

Drake looked back at Kelden, wondering in his own fear for June what he would do. The academy had trained them how to work through fear and how to focus but that didn't mean the fear wasn't there. There was always this moment in every agent were the fear grips them right before the action kicks in and all the training propelled them to act.

June waited until she was done dry heaving before she could respond. She gratefully accepted the wet rag and wiped her mouth, wishing she’d been able to keep her food down. “I don’t really know,” she admitted quietly. She sighed, resting her head on her knees for a minute. When she found the words, she looked back up at Hazel. “It’s like... if I’m the one who tells him, that’s me confirming everything that happened,” she explained, trying to process her thoughts.

She couldn’t bring herself to say the rest. That she worried he’d find her unloveable after it was all out in the open. She leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes. She knew they needed her statement to help the investigation. One way or another, she would have to relive the experience.

June listened to Hazel, knowing she was right. Drake had done nothing but show her kindness and understanding, he had already proved his character time and time again. She felt for the chain at her neck and leaned against her friend and sighed. “Thank you, but you’re right. Drake deserves some trust. I can do this,” she said.
Kelden nodded. Hazel would be invaluable to the investigation. “I will, she’s whip smart and she’ll be able to pick out details that we might have missed.” He ran a hand through his hair at Drake’s question though. He thought back to the day he’d taken Hazel’s statement and the aftermath of it. It had been so hard to hear about the horrible things done to someone he cared so much for. It made it personal.

“I didn’t. I was furious, I wanted to hunt that fucker down even more than I already did. I still do. Hearing about it guts you, but they had to actually live through it,” he told Drake bitterly. But then he looked up. “They teach us not to let emotions get in the way. But what they didn’t tell us was that sometimes it can fuel you. So long as I’m breathing Drake, no one will hurt those women like that again.”

Kell’s eyes burned with an internal fire. He wouldn’t let it get in the way of his better judgement, but he would put that anger towards protecting Hazel and June.

Hazel smiled softly as June seemed to calm down. She nodded and hugged her friend. "Okay then. I'll let you work up to it here and will go let Drake know to set up." she said and stood looking back at June. "I love you June like you were my sister." she said bashfully before she left.

Hazel came down the stairs and paused at the kitchen entrance catching the last bit of their conversations. It bugged her. Kelden should have to put his life on the line. She needed him to protect himself just as much as he protected her. She needed him. She furrowed her brows trying to think through it all. She sighed softly and straightened herself setting her face and walked in.

"Drake... June's getting ready now. You should set up." she said and watched him stand and go to do that. She walked over to Kelden and ran her hands up his chest. "You are my person Kelden." she looked up at him. "You're the one I let my guard down with, the only one." she clung to his shirt a moment her eyes drilling holes into his chest with their intensity. She smoothed out his shirt and leaned her head on his chest. "Okay let's get to work." she said already insinuating that she was going to be a part of this.
Drake listened to Kelden and nodded. He would work on seeing how he could make whatever emotions popped up today work for him and not burden June with them now. He looked up as Hazel came in and nodded. She looked a little worried and he hoped that June was going to be okay. He wanted to get it over with in one shot but if she needed a break he understood and would make sure she got whatever it was she needed.

Drake moved into the office and took the recording stuff they might need out to let Hazel and Kelden have access to all the files in there. He moved down into another room to set up. It was somewhere with good lighting and that could have a breeze if she wanted it.

Drake set up the chairs and the little table before moving back to the stairs to wait for June to come down and for them to begin this. He wanted to hold her already, to make it all disappear but he was sure after this she wasn't going to want that. She would need space and reassurance. Both he was happy to do. He was happy just to sit with her for as long as she needed.

Kelden held Hazel when she came over to him. He kissed the top of her head. "And you're my person," he told her. He felt that fire, knowing he would do anything to protect her. He stroked her hair lovingly. "Let's," he agreed. "First things first, we need to see if we can find out who that woman at the fair was.
It's possible she's a reporter, so we're at least going to go through the employees of the local news agencies and see if we recognize her," he told her. He searched up the info on his phone, quickly getting the names of three agencies in the immediate area and two more some miles out, but close enough that it was worth searching. He still didn't believe that she was a reporter, but if they could cross that off the list for sure, it only made her more suspicious and more vital to the investigation.

He grabbed the keys to the car and out the door they went. Kelden nodded to Drake as they left, knowing that this would be a hard day for both June and Drake. He had faith that they would get through it with each other's help though. They were good for each other. Kell held Hazel's hand as he drove, their first destination a small newspaper company in town. It didn't take long to arrive. He grabbed some sunglasses for Hazel. Though he didn't think she'd be recognized again, they were searching for the woman who had recognized her in the first place so it was better to be on the safe side. "Ready?" He asked.

Inside, Kelden leaned coolly against the counter at the front desk. "Hello Ma'am," he began, fishing for his badge in the inside pocket of his coat. The secretary eyed him curiously. "I'm going to need a record of all your current and previous employees," he told her, flashing the badge. Her lips opened to a surprised "o" shape and her eyes were wide. "Of course, sir! Let me get those for you!" She said, a little too eager. He smiled politely. A short while later, he and Hazel were back in the car with a packet of papers listing names and pictures. It was a small company so the list wasn't terribly long. "Recognize anyone?" He asked Hazel, knowing she would be able to pick that woman out in a second if she saw her.
June looked up at Hazel and gave her a tired, but genuine, smile. "I love you too Hazel," she told her. She took a few more minutes to prepare herself before she stood and rinsed her mouth and brushed her teeth to get rid of the taste. She could do this. She exited the bathroom and went to the study where Drake was setting up. She fidgeted nervously in the doorway for a moment before speaking up. "I'm sorry about that," she told him. "I'm ready to give a statement."

She sat in the chair, facing the camera. Her gaze flickered to Drake several times as he made sure it was ready. She took in a deep breath, her hands clenched on her lap below the desk. "My name is June Bellamay. I was abducted on May 26th, 2019. I was working at a bakery on 5th Ave, my shift had run extra late that night due to a staff error. I was walking home from work when I was grabbed from behind and felt a needle go into my neck. I know that I was loaded into the back of a white van, but the drug that I was injected with knocked me out soon after." She trembled. "Previously I couldn't remember anything before waking up in the cell with Hazel, but in more recent weeks I've been regaining my pieces of my memory." She admitted, struggling to keep her voice above a whisper. She hadn't told anyone that she had been getting flashes of memories back yet. She clenched her fists tighter, her nails digging into her skin. "I remember waking up, strapped to a table or a bench of some kind. I was completely naked and being held down with leather straps." Her face contorted. "I don't know how much time passed exactly, but I do know that it was several hours. There was a clock and in one memory the hour was about 4:15 and in another it was 8:40. I'm still not sure if it was morning or evening, there were no windows in the room. The only light was a bright lamp, maybe a surgical light. He touched me.. everywhere. He molested me, sticking fingers and tools inside of me, touching my breasts... he violated me no matter how much I begged him to stop."

June was visibly shaking now. Saying it out loud was bringing it all back, her brain flashing more memories at her that she wished had remained long buried. "He cut me, more times than I can count, using some sort of knife. A pocket knife of some kind. I was bleeding a lot by the time he was finally done. I was starting to lose consciousness even though he hadn't drugged me again that I can remember. I think he accidentally cut me more than he'd intended, like he got too eager? He seemed angry when I started passing out." June could almost hear him now, the sounds of cursing and degrading insults he'd flung at her as she struggled to keep her vision from fading. Eventually, she'd just given in to the fading darkness, not wanting to be present for that hell any longer. "The next time I awoke was in a cell with Hazel."

June continued on through the recap of her and Hazel's time together. It took a while. She struggled through the memories, providing every last detail she could. She was unable to look at Drake the entire time, afraid to face the disgust she feared would be there in his eyes. So she kept her gaze fixed on the wall just beyond the camera. "I ate the food for the both of us, I knew that Hazel would need her full strength if she was going to get us out. But.. part me of hoped that maybe the double dose would just.. kill me. At that point, I just wanted it all to stop. If I had to die for that, and give Hazel the chance to live, I would do it a hundred times over." June concluded the statement and sat shivering in the chair. She suspected that if she hadn't already puked up her breakfast, she would be doing so right now. She sucked in a deep breath, and finally built up the courage to look Drake in the eyes.

Hazel nodded as he suggested the woman at the fair was a reporter. She didn't think she was. "She could also be a student at a college that might be going for a reporting job. Or she could be an at home blogger." she said and rubbed her neck shivering to think that there were people out there obsessed with this case or worse with the killer but it was a real possibility. How often had tv shows portrayed over eager fans. "Kelden... What if she's a groupie?" she asked while he looked on his phone. She looked scared. What if it was the worst case scenario? She looked at Kelden and sighed as he reminded her to take this a step at a time. "Right."

Hazel held Kelden's hand in the car as she thought over that woman at the fair. She had been hyper alert but it made memory fuzzy at times. She didn't seem like a reporter but the only ones she had met were those shoving mics into her face on camera not one off camera. It was possible they were that crazy normally. She looked up as they stopped. She smiled softly taking the sunglasses and putting them on holding herself up high. People didn't ask questions to those they thought held more power. She gave a nod as he asked if she was ready. It kind of felt like walking into a sleeping bears den her going into this building with reporters inside.

Hazel moved with him into the building and watched the receptionist look Kelden over with interest but when he flashed his badge it changed. Yes Kelden was very attractive but the badge made people act. Hazel waited with Kelden looking at all the pictures around the lobby room looking for a familiar face. When the woman came back with the list she moved with Kelden back to the car. She pulled the glasses off as she took the packet. The benefit of a small town was how people stayed at the same jobs for all their life. She flipped through the pages and shook her head. "No she's not here." she said and sighed.

Hazel couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with that girl. "Kelden... There are three ways people develop intuition. The first is they are born with it, which is really rare that it's accurate," she shook her head getting distracted. "The other is training like yours, but the third is trauma. Unlike trained intuition those that have trauma intuition can't explain what they feel but they know it's a threat." she looked up at him with searching eyes. "I know there is something wrong with that woman at the fair and it ha nothing to do with her job." she said and furrowed her brows. "Does that make sense?" she asked him hoping he understood what she was trying to say.
Drake shook his head. "You have a right to whatever it is you need to do. You have no need to apologize to me." He said and then set up the recording devices. He nodded when it was ready and waited for June to start to speak. He looked down at the ground trying to control the anger in his face as she talked about that sick fuck touching her and hurting her to the point she passed out from it. He couldn't imagine that horror and he wanted to beat the fucker. A jury trial was too good for him but he was an FBI agent and if there was a possibility to take him in he would but he wouldn't loose any sleep if he got to shoot him before that could happen.

Drake looked back up as he listened to her tell about the time with Hazel in the cell. He had heard this part before so it was a little easier to control himself but not by much. She told the camera how she had felt eating the drugged food. Death was her only control in that moment and she had been so vulnerable. That's when it hit him. They needed to look at the drugs. He used a lot of them and different kinds. They needed to look at what jobs gave access to those drugs and gave time for his torment. Or maybe they needed to look at what those drugs were used for as far as ailments. They needed to follow the drugs. He would have to call the hospital to get the tox screen results. He then wanted to look into professions where cutting was used. He hated to ask the question and he wouldn't today but he needed to know how that psycho had used the blade.

June finished and he let the tape roll just a bit longer then reached up and shut it off. She looked at him and he looked back at her with compassion and determination. He wished he could take it all away but since he couldn't he would do the next best thing and make sure it didn't happen again. He was surprised that unlike Hazel that the psycho hadn't taken her away at anytime to play with her like he had Hazel. They had no other reference except Hazel's account that he had taken the other girls but they didn't know what happened during that time. Had they all been treated like they were in a relationship? They had all been raped but there was no way to recover any evidence from their bodies in that way. It was too horrible to even think about how he had left the other girls and that the same could have happened to Hazel and June.

Drake moved over to her with soft eyes. He knelt in front of her. "Can I take you outside?" he asked her wishing he could just hold her but he was sure with the memories running through her head that it wasn't a good idea. He was thinking maybe if she felt up for it he would take her to see Mac. That would put some life back into her. Drake wanted to touch her to show her he loved her all the more for her courage and her resilience in the face of something so terrible. He also anted to tell her she needed to let him know when things were coming back because she didn't need to go through them alone anymore but this was not his time right now. Right now it was about bringing her back from her memory and putting her in control.

Kelden nodded. "It does. I feel it too. There was something off about her and I think she could be important to the investigation." He explained. He was glad that Hazel felt the same. "That just makes it all the more important to find her. But without any other information, our best bet of finding her is starting at the basics." He folded the thin stack of papers and set them in the back. One place down, four more to go.

The other news agencies went similarly, only the last one giving him trouble about releasing their employees information. He had had to explain that the woman they were looking for wasn't in trouble, just that they thought she could help on a murder case. Which was technically true. In any case, the secretary quickly got the information together and handed it to them after that explanation. When they got back to the car, he and Hazel examined the papers, scanning the faces of each employee. Unfortunately, none of them resembled the woman. So they could eliminate local reporters from the list. That would be helpful in convincing his boss that this woman wasn't just some reporter who happened to recognize them.

"One moment," he told Hazel. He dialed up his boss and explained that he'd looked into the reporter possibility. His boss wasn't entirely convinced but relented, promising that he'd have people dig further into other possibilities. Kelden specified home bloggers or anyone studying reporting, knowing that Hazel's suggestions were good ones. He also suggested digging into forums that discussed the monster. He sincerely hoped the woman wasn't a groupie but as the most dangerous possibility, he had to have it looked into.
June let out a breath, seeing the compassion and determination in his eyes. They held each other's gazes for a few minutes before Drake came over and knelt in front of her. She trembled, tears threatening to spill, at the gentle tone in his voice. Her throat was tight, not allowing any words to escape, so she just nodded. She needed out of this room.

June stepped outside and raised her face to the sky, taking in the sunshine in all its warmth and allowing it to chase away the memories of a cold, dark cell. She let out a deep sigh and the tears that had been building up finally began to stream down her cheeks. She let out a choked sob and wrapped her arms around her middle as she stood in the sunlight. "I made it out," she sobbed, needing to say the words aloud to remind her of that. To remind her that this was all real and she was alive.

She turned to Drake and hesitantly, she offered him her hand. She wanted his touch, his warmth. And when he took her hand in his, she knew that she could trust him with anything. She'd had faith and trust in him already, but this was the final piece she needed. For him to see and know all the broken parts of her and for him to still be able to take her hand afterwards. She moved closer then, embracing him into a tight hug and burying her face in his chest as she let go of everything she'd been holding in. She felt no fear as his arms wrapped around her. His touch was one that would never hurt her, only protect and comfort.

Hazel moved with Kelden as they worked the sites. She looked through the papers at each one shaking her head. she was glad Kelden understood and was willing to let her help with this. She needed to do something. She sighed sitting back. They had nothing. She crossed her legs and sat there looking out the window trying to think of anything that would help them catch him. Were would he have gone. She needed to ask Kelden what the FBI had done since she had brought them in that information.

Hazel listened to Kelden talk to who she was guessing was his boss. Hazel was glad that Kelden had used her suggestions. She wished they had some kind of picture to show people. Hazel wasn't good enough at drawing to make a sketch that people would really be able to identify her from, not from memory like that. Once Kelden hung up she looked over at him. "Let's get lunch and you can tell me what the FBI has done since I brought in his ID." she said.

"I'm assuming they went to the address on the ID. What did they find?" she asked him. She already knew what was in the place she had been kept at. Hazel was trying so hard not to ask why her, why had she been kept so long? Why had he spent the most time with her alone? What was it that made him focus on her? Yes he had taken June but he had spent the most time with her even out of the other girls before her. She knew it would be hard but she also needed to look at the dumping grounds. "Kelden... I want to look at the pictures of the dump sites. I need to know." she said knowing he didn't have them on him but that when they got back that he could show her.
Drake followed behind her until they where outside and he moved to her side. He looked at her as she absorbed the sun like it was the only thing that would keep her from falling into the darkness in her mind. Her sobs wrecked him and he nodded not trusting his voice when she said she made it out. He stood there looking at her beautiful face streaked with her pain.

Drake looked at her hand as she offered it to him and without hesitation he gently took it in his hands and pressed a kiss to it. He looked at her with concern. He wanted to fix it for her but there was no fixing it. When she moved into his arms he buried his face in her hair and held her as gently as he could but his passion made him hug her more tightly than he would have in this situation.

Drake listened to her sob into him and he held her up letting her get it all out. She was safe in his arms and if this was the place she wanted to break down he would be her stronghold. He stroked her hair softly and they stood like that until time seemed to not exist. If time was going to stand still he was happy it was with June safely in his arms. He only wished he could make time move slowly when she was happy in his arms. June deserved to be happy. "I'm so proud of you." he said because it was true. She was so strong. He had no idea how after all that she could stand to let anyone touch her and here she was relying on him for support. He was enamored with her.
