Surprise quickly flashed in Nate's eyes before confusion started to sink in. Why in the world was Charlotte so mad? He was pretty sure that his plot was foolproof. He'd get to captain his ship, and Charlotte would get what she wanted by having him resting. Sure, he'd be sitting instead of laying down but really. Who could lay around all day? That sounded freaking boring and Nate was pretty sure that he'd go insane if he wasn't allowed to do something at all.
"Charlotte, wait," Nate called after his beautiful lover. He stood up quickly and then groaned, doubling over slightly as the sudden fast movement caused the wounds on his back to hurt. "Ah, damn," Nate mumbled quietly as he slowly lowered himself into his chair. Grinding his teeth the whole time because it hurt to move into a sitting position once more. A small sigh escaped from Nate as he ran a hand through his hair. His head resting back as he leaned back in the seat. Ignoring the angry irritation that he was feeling. "I'm in the dog house now." He mumbled to himself and then closed his eyes. Allowing himself to relax for a few moments before attempting to move anymore today.
It took a lot more effort then Nate had originally anticipated. Walking to the door of his room, fine. Walking down the hall, fine. Walking up the stairs onto the main deck? Slow and painful. Who would have guessed that making his way up a couple of stairs would hurt so badly? It was like he was being whipped all over again with the way his wounds pulled on each other with each step that he took, but he made it. Nate had conquered the evil stairs and came out victorious.
Slowly, shifting his gaze over the ship's deck. Nate allowed for a small not to happen as he leaned against the nearest railing. It seemed like things were running smoothly. Everyone was working, no one was really slacking off, but if they were, then they acted like they weren't. Which, Nate really didn't mind. Although, one thing crossed his mind as he surveyed the deck, where did Charlotte go? He thought she'd be up here.
