Bucky's lips felt rougher than she was expecting, but she felt like as weird as it might sound they fit him well. And she didn't mind the way they felt against her own. This was a kiss she'd remember for sure. One that seemed to short really, but they did have to breath eventually so pulling away from one another was logical. She let out a soft sigh and kept her eyes closed for just a few moments once they pulled away from one another, but their foreheads were still pressed together, and her fingers played with the hair on the nape of his neck. "I agree," she said softly wondering what this would mean for them now. Then she remembered that she had people coming over for at least a week and she wasn't exactly sure how he would feel about that. He probably wouldn't want to be around them given he was trying to stay hidden, then something else hit her and she pulled back and bit her lip.
"Captain America is coming here," she said moving her hands to his shoulders. "I literally just spoke with him earlier today. Apparently, a friend of mine back in America is friends with him and trying to set up our other friend with him. And I totally invited them all to come and visit and they'll be here like in my house," she said running her fingers through her hair. "I know that he is, was, whatever, I know you two were close at one point and you literally just said you wanted to avoid getting him pulled into anything. But he's going to be here. He doesn't know that you're here and that's not why I invited you over. But I felt like you should know so you can take whatever precaution you need to," she said feeling her heart ache at the thought that he could leave right now and she'd never see him again. Or that he might think she betrayed him or that things could go south when she truly didn't want that.
Steve looked around the bakery once they walked in and it brought a smile to his face. It for sure reminded him a lot a place he and Bucky went to in Brooklyn in the 40s. "You know Bucky and I use to go to a place like this back before the war. I'd go with him usually because it meant homemade ice cream by Ms. Flo which was the best in Brooklyn, but he usually went to win points with whatever dame he was dating at the time. The dude was a total ladies man," Steve said laughing a little. It had been a long time since he'd had a happy thought that involved Bucky. Anymore they were just sad thoughts about how Steve had let his best friend down or thought about what he could do to try and find him. But it was nice to have a good reminder of him.
"So what's your best seller?" He asked taking a moment to actually look around at all the items she had for sale. "And what exactly are you doing to the cheesecake?" He asked running his hand over his neck. "Just because I've always been a sucker for some good cheesecake, and I have a feeling if yours is as good as those brownies you made then I might have a new favorite," he said with a smile. This really did feel nice, to be out and about trying sweets and just overall feeling light and happy for once in a really long time.
