The Impossible

“Shit..” Junho said, everywhere he moved, more cracks were forming and the ground was splitting as the shaking got more intense.

He looked around and then noticed someone sticking a hand out to them. “Come on!” Hongbin said, reaching out to Jimin and Junho.

N helped him pull the two boys on stage as the ground continued to split, people running wild, some falling through the cracks.

‘What about them?’ Jimin looked behind him at the many scared people running and screaming, trying to find a safe place to hide and ride out the earthquake. Jimin felt bad for them as he stumbled on the stage against N.

Junho looked around when his eyes stopped on a small child. She was standing there crying as she looked around. He looked at Jimin and the rest of Vixx before jumping back off the stage.

He made a beeline for the small girl, jumping over a crack that opened up in front of him, picking up the girl as he looked around. “Hang on, okay?” Junho told her, before jumping over another crack, running back towards the stage.

Vixx had began helping people up who were close enough. “Here!” Junho called out, handing the girl to Leo. He climbed back up as everyone moved back, the front of the stage collapsing.

Jimin saw a woman standing frozen in complete fear. She was trembling but she wouldn’t move a single inch. He knew it was reckless but he couldn’t let her die. Despite Junho and others screaming at him not too, he climbed down off the collapsing stage, running toward the woman.

A crack started forming under her. He ran faster, grabbing her hand and pulling her against his chest, and falling to the ground away just as the crack opened. This crack moved fast, opening toward them. Jimin scrambled up and pulled the woman with him but the crack was faster. They both fell over. He grabbed onto the edge and held the woman tightly not letting go.

‘Hold on!’ He yelled, starting to pull her up.

Junho jumped down, intending to help Jimin, but when his feet hit the ground, his left ankle landed wrong and he fell slightly, cursing out. He pulled himself up, limping towards Jimin and the woman.

He helped Jimin pull the woman up. “Look out!” Hyuk yelled, pointing.

Junho looked up as he saw part of the sign falling towards them. He shoved Jimin and the woman out of the way, stepping back as the sign fell, the sharp piece going right through Junho’s calf.

Ravi, Hongbin, Ken and N jumped off the stage as they rushed to Junho’s aid.

‘Junho,’ Jimin called out to him, as the woman clutched to Jimin’s shirt, sobbing and begging him not to let her go. He held her tight as he stood them up and rushed over to Junho, ‘what do I do? It’s going to hurt if I pull it out.’

“we either pull it out or he dies..” Ravi said.

“Pull it out.” Junho gritted through his teeth.

“But, we might damage something..” Ken said.

“You won’t. Just pull it out.” Junho said.

Ken and Hongbin grabbed hold of the post before pulling. Junho let out a yell as they pulled it out.

“Now...tie something around it to stop the bleeding for now.” Junho said.

The earthquake seemed to have subsided for now. “Are you a doctor?” Ken asked as he took off his shirt to tie around Junho’s leg.

“No...I was in a building collapse three years ago...trust me, I know what I’m doing.” Junho said as N and Ravi helped him up.

Jimin helped the woman on his back, ‘where do we go now?’ He asked them. There were huge cracks everywhere. The stage was destroyed. There was barely any safe spot to go to without it looking like it might give way beneath their feet.

“Let’s go find the others and then we’ll go from there.” N said as he looked around for Leo and Hyuk.

Jimin nodded. The woman clutched onto him tightly as they walked being careful of their movements as they tried to find Leo and Hyuk, ‘hey what’s your name?’ Jimin asked her.

‘Solar,’ she responded, her voice shaking.

‘Solar I really like that name.’

‘T-Thankyou, my sister uses my name as her stage name.’

‘Your Solar from Mamamoo’s sister?’

‘Yes,’ tears were trailing down her cheeks.

“There’s Leo!” Ken said, seeing Leo and Hyuk, along with the little girl that Junho had saved and a couple more people.

The groups eventually met back up, “there’s earthquakes and tsunamis all over Korea..” Leo sighed, looking at them.

Jimin’s eyes went wide, ‘do you know if there was anything near Seoul’s music high school of performing arts and the surrounding neighborhoods?’

“Last we heard, it was hit by the same earthquake that hit us.” Hyuk said.

Jimin thought of his friends and his family and looked in Seoul’s general direction. He had to get back to Seoul and he had to get there fast.

“So where can we go?” N asked.

“The hospital isn’t far from here and your friend looks like he needs help.” One of the other men with them said.

“Let’s go that way.” Leo nodded.

Jimin looked back and forth between the group, Junho and Seoul’s direction. He stood there for a long moment, holding Solar’s sister, ‘please be alright...’ he whispered.

“Jimin come on.” Junho said as they started towards the direction of the hospital.

He went to take a step forward when the ground started shaking again with the aftershocks. He accidentally dropped solar’s sister. She hit the ground with a thud. Jimin fell through a crack that widened. He tried grabbing onto the edge but he missed and slid down a bit. He finally got ahold of an edge several feet down. He held on for dear life, scared.

Solar scrambled over to the edge, ‘Jimin,’ she reached over, trying to grab his hand but she couldn’t reach.

“Jimin!” Junho called and tried to run after him but Hyuk held him back while N, Ken and Ravi ran to help Jimin.

Jimin screamed when the edge he was hanging onto broke and he slid further down between the cracks. Tears spilled down his cheeks. He didn’t want to die.

‘What do we do?’ Solar asked N, Ken and Ravi.
