Junho sat at the dinner table with his other five siblings. They were waiting for their father to get home from work, it was his birthday after all, their step mother had worked all day to prepare a meal for Junho’s father.
Time ticked on and there was still no sign of their father, soon the doorbell rang and their step mother went to answer. The siblings all looked up when she let out a scream.
The six of them jumping up and going to the doorway of the kitchen. Their step mom was on the floor, crying and screaming. Junho noticed the police officer’s holding their father’s construction hat in his hand and there was a fair amount of blood on it. He was only 13 but he clearly knew what was going on.
Junho woke from his sleep in a cold sweat. He had the dream again. The dream about his father’s death. It had been six years but it felt like it was just yesterday.
He stretched before getting out of bed, walking out of his room. He sighed when he saw his step mom and her boyfriend in the living room, empty beer cans and whatever was left of the cocaine they didn’t finish, laid on the table.
“Go wake your siblings up before they’re late for school.” His step mom said.
Junho sighed before going to Yongguk and Zelo’s room. He opened the door, walking inside. “Guys, time to get up. You don’t want to be late for your first day of school.” He said, shaking Yongguk and then Zelo.
