Thor thought there was nothing better than having a feast after returning home from a successful hunt. The thick forests of Asgard had proved for an eventful outing and he had come home with several warg hides and the skull of a bilgesnipe to hang on his wall—trophies from a battle well fought. The Asgardians were celebrating the anniversary of the end of the Aesir-Vanir war and the large, polished stone hall was brimming with life. The casks of ale, mead, and wine were freely flowing. The long tables were lined with food. The most prominent inhabitants of Asgard found themselves surrounded by royal finery for the evening. Jaunty music filled the room, as did laughter and conversation.

The son of Odin found he thrived just as much in this setting, as he did in battle or on a hunt. As his parents mingled amongst the nobles of Asgard, he has quite an audience surrounding him as he regaled them of this particular hunt. The Warriors Three and Lady Sif were close to interject when needed.

“—and there it was. The stories and legends we were told as children could not begin to describe how much larger the bilgesnipe is when you come across one.” Thor paused to take a large sip of his ale. “Which I hope none of you ever have to face one. They would tear you to shreds in an instant. Not to mention to stench is putrid. It is why Volstagg’s beard has more of a curl to it now.”

There was a chorus of laughter around him and Thor beamed, his bright blue eyes crinkling happily at the corners as a smile spread across his lips. He clasped a hand on the warrior’s shoulder before tipping his flagon of ale back once more. Yes, there was nothing that Thor could think of that would surpass this.

Freyja had enough of the Asgardian people and how two-faced most of their nobility could be. They implored her to use her gifts to heal their sick and injured. They coveted her for her looks, her body, her name alone—when in private. But in large groups, in the public eye, she was a pariah. Gullveig, was what they called her, or greed. The greedy goddess who would steal their gold, their husbands and wives, and their finery when their backs were turned. How could the goddess of love end up in such a hateful place? Oh yes, the Aesir-Vanir war they were celebrating on this eve.

Her cup had never run dry that evening. She had made sure to keep in filled, sipping at it so she would say just numb enough to make the night bearable until she could retire to her chambers. When they had initially left Vanaheim for Asgard, her and her twin brother Freyr had been inseparable, leaning on each other through the transition. Now, her brother had made new friends with the Warriors Three, Thor, and Sif. She often was asked to come along on their hunts and escapades. Freyja went to appease her brother, but she oft kept to herself.

She sat off to the side of the crowd that was listening to Thor recount the story of their hunt, smiling and laughing when need be to fit in, but it never quite reached her stormy grey gaze. Freyja could feel the occasionally gaze on her; appraising the golden jewelry she wore, the famed necklace that clasped around her throat, the quality of the goldenrod fabric of her gown, or how simply her hair had been styled.

Oh, how she longed for the simplicity of Vanaheim. She missed the scent of the sea on the journeys she’d take on her father’s boat. She missed the forests that surrounded her ancestral home and the runs she would take through them barefoot. She missed the kindness of the people and how happy they were to just see her. She missed the feeling of being wanted—of belonging.

Idunna kept to herself and off to the side with a cup of wine she never let get below halfway as she listened to Thor recount his hunt with The Warriors Three and Lady Sif. It was an interesting story, to say the least, though Idunna found most of Thor's stories interesting. She wasn't quite sure what it was about the God of Thunder that kept her so enthralled, after all, he was kind of arrogant, had never paid her much attention as far as she knew, and she'd heard all the talk of Thor and the many lovers he'd had over his years. Yet she also knew most men of Asgard were the same way, they were arrogant in their ways so she didn't want to define Thor or anyone else just by things she'd heard or maybe witnessed. Because what you see when they're around others isn't always the truth, sometimes even Gods put on faces around others not wanting to share their true selves with others in case it made them vulnerable. Honestly, Idunna thought it was silly but maybe that's because she was a Goddess and had no trouble being vulnerable with people once a level of trust had been built.

Idunna had spent herself entire life on Asgard, so she didn't know anywhere else, and for as long as she could remember this was how they celebrated things. With food, music and stories, and lots of drinking. Most of the people drinking would end up coming to her the following morning likely asking her to help make them feel better. That was something she did though, she used her powers to rejuvenated the people of Asgard. Mostly when they were feeling down for various reasons she'd take on whatever was ailing them so they were no longer being brought down by things. Or in cases like tonight, she would take on the role of curing them of the issues brought about by drinking too much. Which it never ceased to amaze her how many people would actually go too far tonight. And she knew they had to go too far considering how hard it really was to get drunk. But tonight was a night of celebration so who was going to stop them?
Loki loathed events like this. He hated attending things that celebrated his brother in some way or another. And maybe it really wasn't good for him to actually hold this much resentment for Thor given that neither of them had any control over the fact that they were brothers. But he did, there was actually so much resentment that he was sure even other people were likely starting to notice some of the small things that he did in hopes of making himself feel better. It wasn't his fault though that their father had always favored Thor over him. All Loki had ever done was to try and earn approval from Odin. He'd wanted nothing more than for Odin to realize that he was just as worthy to be king one day as his oaf brother, actually, he felt like he deserved it more. He was much more qualified to be king. He didn't run around the nine realms picking fights or being his arrogant self making others feel less than him and it felt like that was all Thor did. Which didn't seem very kingly if Loki were telling the truth? He felt like a king should simply rule the thone, be in the city to make sure things were taken care of at home, and send out people when things went south. But he knew Odin would never go for that because for some reason Loki wasn't worthy.

But because Loki was devoted to making himself look good, and to prove that he could in fact enjoy himself he was at the celebration being thrown and currently everyone was, of course, surrounding Thor and The Warriors Three and Lady Sif as they recounted the story of their hunt from earlier. One Loki was sure he'd heard plenty more before the week, let alone the night was over. "Why do people fawn over you?" Loki said under his breath sure he wasn't actually heard by anyone. It actually made no sense to him whatsoever what woman saw in his brother. Yet they saw something because he always had woman practically lining up for him. And Loki truly didn't understand.

Thor’s gaze swung over the crowd as he though of how to continue his story next. Through the sea of smiling faces, he spotted a particular goddess he’d admired from afar for quite some time. Lady Idunna had long been a woman he had kept his eye on and held secret affections for. For someone like Thor—and this was truly saying something—to say that a woman made him nervous was extremely out of character, but that was precisely how Lady Idunna made him feel. He thought she had an unfathomable beauty and the few times he’d tried to gain the courage to speak with her, his cowardice won and he sought attentions elsewhere. As he shot the woman a crooked grin, he wondered if tonight he would feel brave enough to speak to her…or he would at least have enough ale to fool himself into thinking he was brave enough.

“So there is was, this gargantuan, foul beast, with its great, jagged horns and thick scaly horns, staring me down like it had just found its next meal,” Thor continued, leaning forward a bit as he spoke animatedly. “The rest of the hunting party circled us, but it was not enough to sway the beast’s attention on me. Of course, we all fought bravely, but ultimately the beast was no match for the might of me or my hammer.” Cheers erupted all around and Thor grinned brightly.

“I managed to keep the horns and skull intact during the fray and the royal taxidermists say it should be ready for display in my quarters within the week. Perhaps some of you ladies will be lucky enough to view it one day,” he added, shooting a quick wink to the crowd, which was met with a chorus of feminine giggles and chuckles. “Of course, I am most certain that there no more fearsome a beast in the nine realms. My Warriors Three, Lady Sif, my brother, Freyr, and myself are quite lucky to have all emerged with not so much as a scratch—a true test to our might.” The cheers of the crowd crested like a rising wave. The crowned prince of Asgard, and all the realms, felt his spirits soaring and he beamed with joy.

“Cheers for Thor!” Fandral shouted, raising his flagon of ale high into the air and soon the crowd followed his lead and their beverages were lifted. The crowd also followed Fandral as he tipped his drink back too an awaiting mouth. Thor lifted his own drink in thanks and took a long sip with the crowd.

The more Freyja listened to Thor, the harder it was for her to bring the smile to her lips or curbing her increasingly terrible mood. She had already been unceremoniously jostled around a few times by those seeking to gain a closer peek at Thor or those who did not recognize who she was. I am not nearly drunk enough for this, she thought bitterly as she tipped her goblet back to drain it, only to refill it with a twist of her fingers once it had left her lips. What finally brought her simmering anger to a boil was what Thor said last and the toast that followed. She followed with the motions, though did not drink and instead used the silence among the crowd to her benefit.

“And thanks to Freyja, who you’ve seemed to have forgotten also accompanied you all on this hunt and made sure you did not get your skulls crushed like acorns as the bilgesnipe nearly took out the whole forest.” Her voice seemed to cut across the great room and a near hush fell upon it. Her accent was different than the Asgardians—something else they liked to jest her about—the vowels were long, certain syllables abrupt, and overall more lilting and sing-song. The crowd was quick to lower their drinks and part so that they could allow her a better view of Thor, who was watching her with a scowl. She met his gaze fearlessly, fingers clutching at the goblet in her hand tightly. “But I am long past thinking that you would deign to mention me in your stories.”

Vanaheim houses far more deadly creatures than your bilgesnipe. And if the creatures don’t kill you, the bandits and raiders will. You would know this if you cared to learn about the realms that you may rule one day. No, all you care for is battle, hunting, women, ale, and your bloody hammer.”

“Mind your tongue, Freyja,” Thor finally stood, hands clenched into fists at his sides. Freya could hear Freyr in her ear, feel his hand on her arm as he tried to calm her. She shook him off roughly, nearly snarling as she strode toward Thor.

“One day, you may come to regret speaking when you should listen and forgetting what should be committed to memory.” There was so much more she wished to say, to tell everyone how she truly felt about Asgard and people that inhabited the realm, but her rational side won out. She could also feel the gaze of Odin on her back, as if imploring to continue and face his consequences. While she normally would not back down from a butting of heads, she knew this was not a battle that would end well.

“Enjoy the rest of your evening, Prince Thor,” she finished through her teeth, giving him one last look before draining her goblet of mead and tossing it to the side with a loud clatter and clang. Freyja swept from the room with a glimmer of her gold jewelry and the hiss of her silken gown skirting the marbled floors. She was intent on getting as far away from the feast as quickly as possible.

[Hopefully this was okay. I feel like I may have gotten a bit carried away.]

Idunna rolled her eyes before finally finishing off her cup of wine and deciding to walk away from the crowd. She truly had no idea why she would even want to try and win Thor's affections because by the looks of how this feast was going he didn't care much for winning the affection of just one woman, nor did he care much about anything that wasn't his hammer. Honestly, someone should just call him The God of Hammers rather than Thunder as he seemed to care more about Mjolnir than anything else. There was a part of her that wanted to believe that he was different than what she assumed he was, that he wasn't just some Prince who actually didn't care for anyone. Idunna wanted to believe that it was possible for Thor to settle down and one day rules the kingdom with just one woman by his side, likely to keep him from doing anything stupid. But every time she came to these celebrations it was always more of the same. He'd loudly tell the entire kingdom all about some fierce beast they fought off, how he'd crushed everything in his path with Mjolnir, the ladies of Asgard would giggle as if they didn't have the capability to think for themselves, and then one of them would end up returning to his room with him for the night. He'd likely never see her again, and in a few days Idunna would end up hearing all about how she was too sad to continue on because Thor was well being himself.

Things like that were what made it so hard for her sometimes. Because this was what she dealt with, every day. Being the Goddess of Spring and Rejuvenation meant she was the one who kept everyone in Asgard young, or rather she kept them from aging with her apples but she also had to deal with everyone's issues. And she didn't have the time or energy herself to deal with that all while also making sure to keep spring alive on Asgard. Sometimes she actually did feel a little underappreciated, she wondered if the people of Asgard even knew what she actually did for them or if they all just saw her as this pretty Goddess who made them feel better after they ate a piece of fruit she gave them. If only they knew what she could truly do maybe they'd appreciate her more.

Idunna knew though that when she felt like this it was best to just leave so she could take care of herself. After all, she was a Goddess who had to be alone to take care of herself as she didn't truly have anyone to talk to herself. People wanted her to fix their issues they didn't want to help her with her own. She was supposed to always have everything together, otherwise, how could she help anyone? Nights like this were the hardest for her. So she set her empty wine cup on the table closest to herself before she went to slip out away from the crowd and head back to her own chambers where she would be alone.
Loki backed away slowly as soon as Freyja started talking, not wanting to be in the middle of an argument between Freyja and Thor. Both were strong-willed and didn't know how to back down from a fight even though they were there to celebrate the end of the war between the Aesir and the Vanir. As he listened to the conversation, he wouldn't admit it aloud as that would only stir a pot he didn't want to mess with, he had to agree with her. Thor was always more concerned with his bloody hammer than anything. He wasn't sure if Thor knew any history about anywhere in the nine realms that wasn't Asgard which was really sad given how much history there truly was and the fact that go to the library and there were thousands of books on other places. Yet his brother seemed to know so little about everywhere else.

He truly didn't want to be pulled into any kind of conversation with his father, mother, or brother right now about what had only just happened so he sneaked through the crowd after Freyja hoping maybe he could simply talk to someone else who saw his brother the way he saw him. And Loki did wish he didn't view his brother this way as it was his brother. But he couldn't help himself, Thor didn't seem to care much about Loki nor did Thor's friends seem to really care for him so why shouldn't Loki just make his own friends? And why shouldn't that friend be someone else who realizes how little his brother cared.

"I know this is awful timing but I felt I should tell you that I agree with everything you said back there, to Thor," he told her once he'd caught up to her. "And I think it's about time someone put him in his place like that," he said running his fingers through his hair. Honestly, he just wished that he could've had the courage to put Thor in his place himself but he hadn't. Either way, it happened and Loki was kind of happy he'd got to witness it.

As much as Thor would have liked to have said Freyja’s words hadn’t affected him, his mood had gone from floating somewhere in the rafters of the great hall to the floor in an instant. His gaze followed the spiteful Vanir woman for a few moments longer before his eyes roamed the once lively crowd. They were murmuring amongst themselves and Thor knew he had to come up with something quick, something to take their minds off of what had happened and back to celebrating. “And that, my friends, is precisely why we fought with the Vanir in the first place,” he boomed and was almost immediately met with laughter and words of agreement. Thor found his seat once more, a broad smile curling his features as he spared his closest friends a glance. His stomach dropped abruptly upon realizing what he’d said. Hogun was from Vanaheim—had family that still lived in Vanaheim and had died during the battle. The man was smiling as much as someone who was named ‘Hogun the Grim’ could, but his eyes spoke volumes of his sadness.

Thor forced himself to look away, taking another long sip of his ale, hoping the more he drank, the better he would feel. It was then he noted that Lady Idunna was no longer visible in the crowd and was nearly to the back of the hall. Perhaps talking with her will boost his morale once more.

“Enjoy the festivities, fellow Asgardians,” Thor implored of them before leaving his seat and easily weaving his way through the throngs of Asgardian nobles. As he walked past them, some of the men clasped him on the shoulder and congratulated him on a battle well fought and the women made eyes at him. Some of them even told him they would side with him against Freyja, should the woman dare to speak up like that again. What felt like far too soon for him to think of what he was going to say, but not remotely soon enough, he caught up with the fair goddess.

“Lady Idunna,” Thor started, not know what to do with the hand that was not holding his ale all of a sudden. Her beauty, observed this closely, made him nervous in a way he had not been for a few centuries. “I-I…um…” His mouth suddenly felt remarkably dry for all the ale he’d imbibed. “I…am glad that you were able to join us in the celebration this evening,” he finally managed to get out. “I am always pleased to see you find time to enjoy yourself.” He offered her a bright smile, hoping to cover up just how nervous and jittery she made him feel.

    Image

By the time Freyja finally cleared the threshold of the hall, she was only moderately fuming. She could tell someone was following her by her perception alone, but they were putting off such a strong magical aura that it was no surprise to her when the youngest son of Odin started speaking. The woman lifted a brow—what he was saying was actually what shocked her more than him seeking her out. It shocked her so much that she stopped her brisk pace down the fire-lit corridors to her chambers to look up at him. Her eyes were narrowed slightly, head tilted to the side, and the smallest bit of a of a wry grin curling at her lips.

“I mean no offense when I say this, Prince Loki, but I always thought you were the smarter of the two princes. You have just proven my intuition correct,” she told him bluntly, an impish sort of twinkle in her eyes. Freyja began to walk once more though her pace had slowed considerably. “The sad thing, I’m afraid, is that your brother is like my brother in the sense that reprimanding them only lasts a few hours at the most.” The goddess drew in a deep breath of air before letting out a wistful sigh. “Such is existence when you happen to inherit all the brains of the family,” she added, only half jesting as her eyes flashed up to meet his for moment.

There was something different about Loki that struck her as odd—something beyond the heavy magical aura he exuded. While his appearance was distinctly Asgardian, if not a bit unique, there was something else that piqued her curiosity. She was beginning to think it was far beyond his magical abilities. “I’ve noticed your gift for magic on the hunts I’ve been on,” she told him, her expression softening from the mischievous one she wore earlier to something a bit softer and warmer. “But too much of your potential has been left untouched.” She stopped once more, turning to face him completely. “You do not have to answer me now, but I would like to offer you my…assistance in helping you use all your potential.” Her eyes locked onto his, an innocuous sort of smile playing around her lips. Truthfully, if he agreed to her helping him, it would give her more opportunity to figure out what exactly made him so different.

Idunna smiled at Thor when he stopped her, hoping she wasn't obvious in her slight confusion as to why he stopped her of all people. Especially after all the other women who throw themselves at him as literally all the time. Now Idunna didn't for even a moment think that men, especially Thor, didn't pursue her because her looks didn't compare to that of other Goddess, but rather because she didn't put herself out there like others. She kept to herself, and always tried to remain graceful in all situations as her mother had taught her. And when there were so many men who didn't care to win the affections of one girl, and when that one girl happened to not be afraid to put someone in their place when they offended her, or when she didn't throw herself at them as other woman seemed to, they were no longer interested. The main reason she was so confused by Thor approaching her was that he was one of those men. At least from everything she'd witnessed herself, and from all the stories she'd heard he was the man who was more interested in people who were already interested, to say the least. And maybe she was wrong, but maybe she wasn't.

"Of course," Idunna replied tucking some of her loose strands of hair behind her ear. "I do find it entertaining to attend these celebrations. I'm glad that you and your warrior friends had a good hunt. It sounds like it was an adventure fit for no one else but the lot of you all," she said with a soft smile.

"Was there something I could assist you with?" She finally asked him simply wondering if he'd stopped her to make small talk or because he would like something from her? She always assumed the later until she was told otherwise, simply because more time than not it was the later. Someone needed something from her and couldn't be bothered to find her in her garden where she did spend most of her time. She didn't live there though and she was entitled to leave and rest herself at the end of each day. Even for special events such as this, or if she were being courted by a man. Yet she wasn't there and people couldn't be bothered to simply wait for her to return.
Loki chuckled and shook his head, "Lady Freyja, I take no offense to your comment and as my dear brother is not here to defend himself or be offended for that matter, there is no harm from your words." He listened to her speak on about her brother being similar to Thor and he had to agree that they did sound very similar. It didn't matter if you reprimanded Thor or not really because it didn't change anything. He might feel guilty for a few hours but he would never truly mull over things and see that his actions were wrong or his words were too harsh because if he did there was no way he would continue to do or use words the same way. And Loki truly did wish that there was someone who could one day get through to his brother, because despite all the things that he knew Thor lacked he did love his brother. It was just difficult for him not to side against brother on things like this matter specifically because he felt like Thor was being more reckless than normal and he didn't want to see him go down a path like that.

"Why would you offer me your assistance with magic? And I mean no offense by asking, I'm just curious. Most people here on Asgard wouldn't dare off me help like that. Mostly because they know Odin doesn't exactly want me to tap into my full potential. I'm not sure why, and I gave up questioning it just glad he was letting me practice at all quite a few years ago," he told her curious as to why she would offer to help him tap into his magic at all really. "Not that I mind, because I really don't and I would be more than thrilled to take you up on that offer. And truly I've come to realize that I couldn't care less what Odin thinks or wants from me. He's always treated me as more of stepchild than an actual child and I don't know why," he said wondering why this revelation had come about.

Though if he did learn magic with Freyja maybe he would get answers to those questions, maybe he would finally know why he Thor looked so much like their parents and he didn't resemble either one. And maybe he would know more about himself in general. And what harm could possibly come from learning more about himself.

Thor couldn’t help but to grin as Idunna stopped to speak with him, giving her his full and undivided attention. He still felt nervous, especially when she smiled so sweetly at him, but it was getting a bit more for him to manage. Was it a bit out of his usual to pursue a woman, to leave a crowd of people who were doting on him just to see a woman off and made sure she enjoyed herself? Of course, but he felt that Lady Idunna was worth the departure from what he would normally find himself doing.

For a moment after she spoke, he just stood there in a daze, eyes darting between hers before he seemingly jolted himself out of a stupor and realized that he needed to say something in return. “Indeed it was, Lady Idunna. Though I am glad to hear that you in particular were entertained,” he replied, happy in an indescribable sort of way at how she had mentioned how his hunt was molded specifically for him. This would typically be where he’d make some sort of comment about how perhaps she would be an adventure fit for him too, but while he was talking to her, his bravado was not.

When she questioned him on if he needed any additional assistance, it was like the ale he had imbibed of had finally fogged his mind up enough and his tongue ran away before his brain could fully weigh his words. “Yes, Lady Idunna, there is a question I have been meaning to ask you,” he said, his expression going rather curious, “you seem to fill your days with listening to the problems of others and helping them face the day anew with your gifts. How does all their whining not affect you?” His mouth tilted upwards at the corner, as if he thought he was being charming and impish with his question.

    Image

Freyja found herself smiling brightly at the sound of a chuckle or two leaving Loki. If he was not laughing mischievously or sarcastically, he was typically scowling. It was nice to hear the sound coming from him and it felt like a reward to her. “Do not misunderstand me, Prince Loki. I love my brother, I care for him deeply,” she started, a warm glimmer in her eyes, “but love does not blind me to how utterly thick-headed he can be most of the time. I am sure it is the same with you and Prince Thor.” Freyr was certainly the more liked of the children of Njord. He had an easy personality, loved to laugh, and loved to care for others. And while he too had a penchant for the finer things, it seemed that only women would be labeled as greedy for enjoying gold and other expensive items. Or…perhaps only Freyja received that designation.

The goddess had to stop herself from grinning too broadly at what Loki had said. So, Odin had forbade Loki from tapping into his full potential as a wielder of magic. This opportunity to teach him was sounding better and better. “I am the origins of seidr and magics, Loki. It would be a shame to let such a talent go to waste,” she told him honestly, eyes slipping between both of his. “And, perhaps, I would like to get another jab at Odin for forbidding my return to Vanaheim.” Another heavy sigh left her, though this one was far less jesting as she turned, staring hard into a brazier beside them.

“My people are in turmoil, left in shambles after the war, and I share their pain, even in this realm. If he would allow me to return, I could forge a peace once more, set things right,” she said softly, her brow furrowing and her lips pulling down slightly at the corners. “For someone sworn to keep the peace of all the realms, he has seemingly turned his back upon the Vanir people. I fear by the time I am finally allowed to return, the realm will have been torn apart.”

Idunna tilted her head to the side just a bit and pursed her lips to together as she took a moment to think of how to appropriately respond. "I wouldn't say that it doesn't affect me, because after a while it does. However, I wouldn't be very good at what I'm expected to do if I walked around letting everything get to me emotionally. No one would trust me. And it isn't just whining that I spend my day listening to. Some people here in Asgard actually do have real problems going on in their lives, like how they will never see their families again thanks to this war we've just celebrated and I relate to them. Others are dealing with infertility or some other kind of sickness. So I would say that I do a lot more than just listen to people whine all day. And I deal with it by knowing that I'm at least able to bring them some peace in their lives. I may not be able to bring their loved ones back or give them the ability to have a child, but I can give them peace," she said not exactly sure why it had upset her so much the way he'd asked his question, as it was only a question but it had and there was no changing that.

"You know Prince Thor, I mean no offense to you when I say this truly. But you really should watch your words a little closer as to not offend others. Especially if you truly wish to rule one day. Now, unless there's something I can actually assist you with I must be on my way. It's been a rather long day and I wish to retire to my chambers," She told him sighing softly before sidestepping so she could be on her way to her chambers. This was never how she'd expected a conversation with Thor to go exactly, but maybe this was an eye-opening experience for them both.

Idunna couldn't have been more proud of herself for standing up for herself to Prince Thor of all people. Sure she had handled herself with as much grace as she could muster, and she truly hoped she hadn't offended Thor, especially to the point of him overreacting on her. Though if she had then she would deal with it because she did stand behind her words. Thor truly should be told that his words do have an effect on people. The people of Asgard look up to him and they value his opinion and if he used his words to spew hatred or tear people down then Asgard would never be a great place to live. And they wouldn't prosper that way.
"I can assure you Lady Freyja that I understand. I love my brother deeply as well but I have also never met a more thick-headed oaf that he can be more times than not," Loki said feeling kind of good to actually get that out in the open, and it was nice to know that they were on such a similar page with their brothers. It already made her much more relatable than she already was. And it truly was nice to know that he wasn't the only one in all of Asgard who suffered from having a thick-headed brother who honestly never listened or took things to heart really.

Loki never thought that he would be willing to learn magic just to spite his father. But here he was standing with Lady Freyja of Vanaheim contemplating learning magic so he could access it to the full ability mostly so he could spite his father. Who did Odin really think he was telling Loki that he couldn't harness his magic to the fullest of his ability? Was he worried that Loki would learn something he shouldn't? Or was he worried that it would prove that he was the more qualified brother to actually take the thone? Honestly, Loki felt he would be a much better king one day than Thor would. Especially if Thor never grew out of the phase he was in now. Loki was given magic for a reason, and he did want to truly harness it. "I would rather enjoy learning magic from you," he told her realizing that he needed to stand up for himself more. This was something he needed to do for himself. Who cares if Odin didn't want him to learn more magic? Loki was grown and able to make his own choices and choose his own path. And this was the path he wanted to go down.

"I'm sorry that my father refuses to let you go back to your home. And that you're in such despair over what's happening to your home and your people," he told her actually wondering if there was some way he could help there. Surely there were ways maybe that they could leave Asgard other than the Bifrost so that no one would know they were leaving. Because of course if they left they would have to tell Hiemdall where they were going and he'd have to tell Odin who would figure them out and then likely have them locked up.
