Andy smiled as he waved goodbye to his bandmates and walked inside his favorite little hole in the wall restaurant. He invited them to come with him but Jake had plans with his girlfriend, Christian was going to see Lauren out of state. Jinx and Ashley we’re going home for their break to be with their parents. Andy didn’t mind eating by himself. He could just relax and enjoy a night by himself.

The woman saw Andy come in and sit down and immediately went to the back to tell the cook Andy’s order. Afterwards she grabbed a wine glass, filled it with a dark red wine and brought it over, sitting it down in front of him, ‘here you are Andy. I already put your order in with the cook.’

‘Thankyou Riley,’ he smiled at the woman. She nodded before walking away to help a group of people who just walked in the front door. Andy pulled his phone out and started going through it as he waited.

Ray was starving he hadn’t feasted in days and he could really use some food, but he was waiting for the right opportunity. As he walked with his coven he noticed them all just gazing at the humans walking past. He had to tell them to control themselves they’d feast soon enough. As he entered the diner he told them to order something, knowing it was really going to fill them up but it would stop from them starving. For the time being.

As he took a seat and waited for the waitress to put in an order, Ray noticed a young man, maybe in his early thirties from. He was quite handsome, he smirked and wondered about him. It had been a long time since he’s had a pet. “I see you eyeing him, you going to get up and do something about it?” Ray hushed his friend and stood up, deciding maybe he would talk to him.

Andy went on his google books on his phone, pulling up the latest book he was reading. It was a book set in the old times about dragons, elves, humans. It was an interesting book. A friend of his recommended it to him so he bought it and started reading it the same day. He was so into the book that he hadn’t even noticed Ray start to walk over to him.

Even when the vampire was standing by his table, he didn’t notice him. He was so lost inside the new world, that he didn’t even notice when he started talking to him.

Ray had walked over to them man’s table and stood there for a few minutes waiting to see if he’d react. When he didn’t he started to introduce himself still noting was this dude just reading and not paying any attention. Usually people noticed Ray’s presence. He finally slapped his hand down on the table making sure to be heard without looking like an ass.

“Hi, I couldn’t help but notice you across that table, “ he knew it was fucking cheesy but he didn’t care. “I was wondering if maybe I can buy you a cup of coffee.” Was that smooth?

Andy jumped when a hand suddenly slammed down on his table, making him drop his phone out of shock. He caught it though. He looked up at the man who was standing near his table. Black hair that went down to his shoulders and bangs that slightly covered his forehead, blood red eyes that were most likely contact lenses, sharp black nails and had very pale skin. He was wearing a pair of ripped up black skinny jeans and a nice shirt with a nice that jacket went over top.

‘I don’t drink coffee but thanks anyway.’

Riley walked over to Andy’s table with his food before taking his wine glass and going to refill it. He put his phone on the table before he got his fork and knife, ‘not really the coffee type. Friends love it. I’m more of a soda, wine and water person. That was nice of you to offer though and I’m sorry, I’m not trying to sound like an ass.’

Ray squinted his eyes as he watched this guy, he was apparently trying to brush him off. He cleared his throat, “do you mind if I sit here? You’ve peaked my interest, sorry, that’s a little weird to say.” Ray wasn’t really sure what to do most people didn’t try to blow him off like that. He was surprised this guy didn’t seem taken back or impressed by him. Kind of annoyed him actually.

Ray asked the woman to bring another cup of wine for himself as he was debating in leaving him alone. His hands in his pockets as he waited for a response.

‘Sure you can here,’ he told him as he took of a sip of his wine, ‘I’m sorry if I seemed rude. I wasn’t trying to be,’ he looked up into the man’s red contacts with his own piercing blue, giving him a soft smile before he looked back down at his food. He took a bite before looking at Ray when he sat down across from him.

‘So what about me interested you enough to walk over here and want to sit down with me?’

Ray took a seat and watched the young man look up and explain his rude behavior. He smiled softly though, “it’s all right, I shouldn’t be so forward with people..” Ray wasn’t sure quite what to say now he was speechless for some odd reason.

“Honest, I think it’s just the way you seem so into your books right here, they’re a physical copy not digital. It’s nice to see someone pick up an actual book” he laughed. “I know that’s kind of weird if me to say.”

‘Yeah I know. I don’t always read on my phone. I got the copy on my phone this time because of convienance,’ he told him before he took another sip of his wine. The man was really hot but he seemed to be offended by Andy’s behavior. He wasn’t really expecting to have company tonight. He was expecting to eat and drink a little wine then go home and relax.

Riley came back over a few moments later and handed Ray his wine before she walked away. He ate a few more bites of his food before he decided to break the silence that had started to form, ‘so was it just my reading that brought you over? And how did you know I was reading? I could’ve been doing anything.’

Ray was losing his patience maybe this had been s bad idea to begin with, he ran a hand through his black haiir. Trying to think of what else to say to this man but he was drawing s blank. Not a damn clue. “ conveniences can be useful I suppose.” Ray didn’t say much to the waitress and took a sip of his wine, almost glaring at the wine.

Ray had no idea why he was having trouble talking to this man, “mostly I don’t usually pull this kind of thing so you can just tell me to go to hell and I’ll leave.”

‘No I don’t want you to leave. I’m sorry. I’m not trying to be rude. My name is Andrew but everybody just calls me Andy. What’s your name?’ He asked the other, looking into his eyes again. He wasn’t meaning to be rude and he felt bad that he was. He took another sip of his wine as he waited for the guy to give him his name.

Ray looked at him for a moment and nodded, “it’s my fault I obviously interrupted your relaxing or whatever it is that you’re doing and became invasive. My name is Ray” he stated. He took a sip of wine and looked at Andy “it’s a pleasure meeting you.

‘You too. So what do you do for a living if I’m not being too invasive? Hobbies?’ Andy was just trying to make conversation so it wouldn’t be awkward. The guy is smoking hot and he doesn’t want to continue to be rude. He wants to get to know him. Yeah he interrupted his quiet time alone but it was welcomed or else he would have told the guy that no he didn’t want him to sit with him, that he just wanted to eat his dinner alone and leave.

Ray ran his hand through his hair and looked st Andy “well, my family owns a business so I kind of help with running it, it’s a restaurant and bakery nothing to impressive but I do handle all the money.” He nodded. “What about you?”

‘I’m the lead singer of a band. We just got off an almost one year tour so we’re taking a few months off to relax with friends, boyfriends, girlfriends and family. In a few weeks, I’m going to leave California to go back up to Ohio to visit my parents for a bit. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen them, so it’ll be nice to see them again, spend some time with them.’

Ray stared and listened to Andy and nodded every once in awhile “sounds like you live a busy lifestyle, hows the music life changed you?” He asked curiously, “what kind of music do you play? Sorry for asking so many questions “

‘It hasn’t changed me really. I’m still the same boy I was back in Ohio. I’m grateful I got the opportunity to be in the music business the way I am, not a lot of people are that lucky. It took a lot to get here though. I play a few different styles of rock, our sub-genre has kind of changed over the years. We were doing screamo, that went to a more punk rock that changed to operatic rock then again to a punk rock. Who knows those styles might be combined when we get in the studio again to start writing and recording a new album.’

Ray nodded, listening, “that’s cool it’s good that you branch out and try different styles.” Ray took another sip of his wine before looking st Andy, “how many albums have you put out?” He asked,

‘We’ve done five albums and three eps. We actually broke up for awhile and did our thing before getting back together to make our newest album. It helped us grow as a band and come back even stronger and not just continue and make something bland and break up permanently.’
