Aladdin sighed when he got out of bed. Another day of stealing to eat. He had to eat and to eat, he had to steal. He has been alone since he lost his parents and he has had to fend for himself ever since then. It hasn’t been easy but he’s been managing. Him and Abu. They found themselves a nice place in plain sight but hidden.

He pulled on his under garments, pants, shirt and a red hooded vest and hat before waiting for Abu by the front door. Once Abu was on his shoulder, he left and went out into the crowded streets. A little bit from his home, he saw a man who looked like he served in a guard or for the palace. He parted ways with Abu when he got close. He nicked something off the guy’s wrist before walking away. He missed the way the man turned and looked at him with a knowing glint in his eyes.

He met up with Abu a few streets down who was holding a few pieces of jewelry, ‘good job Abu. This will feed us for the next few weeks,’ he told his friend as he made his way to the woman he usually pawned the stuff he stole to. He didn’t notice the man following behind him. The man he stole from.

Jafar had been watching the street rat for quite some time and he was sure he’d be the diamond in the rough. He just didn’t know how to go about getting him to do his bidding for him. All he wanted was to rule Agranah and marry the handsome prince. Seemed pretty odd but Jafar only wanted the best.

As he disguised himself he walked around the market and looked around see what he could find. He spotted the young man and subtly followed him around, maybe he should just get his own guards to follow the street rat.

Aladdin walked into the woman’s shop, right up to her counter before handing her the fancy golden jewel encrusted bracelet, ‘before you say anything I didn’t steal it. I found it.’

‘You’ll get two bags of food for this.’

‘You know it’s worth more than that.’

‘Two bags Aladdin. Now take the food and leave,’ she told him as she held out the two bags. He took them from her with a small thanks before leaving with Abu. He walked through the streets back toward his home. By the time he got there, he didn’t have any food because he gave both bags to the children on the street with their mother who had no food. When he walked inside, and jogged up the stairs, he saw the man he had stolen from in his house. He stopped in his tracks. Maybe he wasn’t as careful or sneaky as he thought and the man noticed and followed him. Why else would he be in his house?

Jafar made it to the street rats home as he waited he looked around it wasn’t bad for him and it seemed to be well put together. Still he would rather be at the palace ruling people and having his own as he waited for this Aladdin to come back Jafar looked out the window.

“That was sneaky of you, stealing my bracelet...” he told him, “I came for it back.”

‘I don’t have it anymore,’ he told him as he started to inch back down his stairs, toward the opening to get out, ‘I sold it for food.’

Food he didn’t even have anymore. He felt bad for the kids and mother on the street with nothing to eat. He gave it all away to them. He made it to his door and was out of it and onto the street in moments. He managed to get halfway down the street before he felt arms wrap around his waist and yank him into an alleyway.

He started to struggle in the person’s hold, ‘let me go.’

‘I don’t have it anymore,’ he told him as he started to inch back down his stairs, toward the opening to get out, ‘I sold it for food.’

He made it to his door and was out of it and onto the street in moments. He managed to get halfway down the street before he felt arms wrap around his waist and yank him into an alleyway.

He started to struggle in the person’s hold, ‘let me go.’

Jafar presses him against the wall,”you listen to me here street rat I want my bracelet back, and you’re going to give it back.” He shoved the monkey off his shoulder. “Do you hear me?”

‘Abu!’ He shoved Jafar back and bent down to pick Abu up and hold him against his chest, with part of his vest wrapped around the monkey, ‘I don’t have you’re bracelet anymore. I sold it. The lady I sold it to, I don’t know what she did with it. She might’ve even sold it already. I don’t know,’ he moved away from the man, holding Abu protectively, not wanting the man to hurt him.

Jafar grabbed Aladdin by his throat “you better bring it to me or there will be consequences.” He started by taking the monkey, “return me my bracelet and you get your monkey back.”

‘No Abu!’ He tried to get Abu back but the man had already disappeared into the crowd, ‘please don’t take him. I...please,’ he tried to find the man in the crowd. He searched and searched but he couldn’t find him. He ran back to the woman he sold Jafar’s bracelet to. He saw it on the wrist of some rich man. He moved quickly and sneakily, taking the bracelet off the man’s wrist and left before anybody was any the wiser.

He felt a hand grab his wrist and yank him into another alleyway. He turned and saw the man from earlier, ‘here is you’re bracelet. Now where is Abu?’

Jafar smirked watching the man struggle, “I changed my mind you can’t gave him until you do something more for me.” He started walking away “meet me by the palace.” He chuckled walking away.

‘What? No. Give me back Abu,’ he grabbed the man’s wrist, ‘I gave you you’re bracelet back. Now I want Abu back.’

Jafar shook his head “not going to happen you went through the trouble of stealing Well now you have to do something for me.” And disappeared

Aladdin couldn’t lose Abu. Abu was his family. He was all he had. He made his way to the palace. They weren’t going to let him in. He’s just a lowly street rat to them. He would sneak in if they turned him away. When he got to the palace gates, as expected they didn’t let him in. He had to come back later and sneak in with a huge group of people.

Once inside the gates, he separated from the people and snuck inside the palace itself. He walked down the hallways, searching for Abu. He got the man his bracelet back. Now he was going to get his family back. He kept searching, until he saw Abu inside a cage in a room, ‘Abu.’

He opened the door and went up to the cage, ‘Abu. I’m so sorry,’ he unlocked the cage and let Abu out. The monkey hugged Aladdin before going to rest on his shoulder ‘you ready to get out of here.’

Jafar popped out of nowhere “where do you think you’re going,” with a snap of his fingers he had the guards grab a hold of Aladdin. “Don’t you remembwr our deal?”

‘What more do you want from me? I gave you back you’re bracelet. I have nothing else to give. Just let me and Abu go,’ he struggled in the guards arms, trying to free himself to no avail. They had a solid grip on him. He looked over at Abu and told him to leave but before he could, some guards grabbed ahold of Abu and kept him from escaping.

Jafar came face to face to Aladdin “I will set you free when you do this little favor for me. All I want is an oil lamp from the cave of wonders.”

‘Why do you want me to get it for you? Why don’t you go and get it yourself?’

Jafar frowned “because If I could het it myself I would but I can’t..”
