The relaxing smell of a homecooked meal floated through the air from the Kitchen. The light sound of something bubbling and chopping echoed through the Kitchen. As well as a small hum from Aelia as she glanced from the recipe on her phone to what she was working. From time to time she'll allow a few hums of undersanding as well as a few that made it well known that she wasn't very pleased with what she had just ready. Cooking was an art, and frankly, Lia wasn't quite sure if she was very good at it. Well, Luca never complained so maybe that's a compliment?
Moving onto a side dish, Aelia pulled out some lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers as well as a few other things to add to a nice salad. Her bright green eyes were focused as she washed everything and peeled the carrots. Then, she moved about grabbing a sharp knife and started to chop everything up so that it was bite-sized. Afterall, no one wanted a chunk of carrot that was the size of their hand in a salad, right?
Halfway through preparing the salad, Lia felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand slightly as the feeling of being watched came over her. Her bright green eyes flickered up towards her husband as he spoke to her. The first compliment he'd ever given her stopping her in her chopping. "Um, thank you." She mumbled quietly, her tone giving off that she was a little confused. After all, she was just in some pink fuzzy PJ shorts and a white tank top. Her head raised and she fully looked at Luca as he continued to speak to her.
"Class was good, I'm enjoying my medical terminology class. We're learning about bones right now." Aelia said, as she picked up a cucumber slice and took a bite as she turned to face Luca. Her hip leaning into the counter as she watched the older man in front of her. "Why the sudden interest in my schooling and me?" Lia asked as she arched an eyebrow at the man. She didn't speak in an accusing tone, she was just innocently curious. This was a more intimate sort of talk then they usually share with each other. Most days they just shared polite pleasantries with each other and then walk away to continue their day.
Slowly, a small frown appeared on Aelia's lips as she started to get a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. "I haven't broken any of your rules." She told him, her voice quiet as she warily looked between him and the doorway. Doing her best to plan her escape route if Luca decided he wanted to attack her or something.
