The relaxing smell of a homecooked meal floated through the air from the Kitchen. The light sound of something bubbling and chopping echoed through the Kitchen. As well as a small hum from Aelia as she glanced from the recipe on her phone to what she was working. From time to time she'll allow a few hums of undersanding as well as a few that made it well known that she wasn't very pleased with what she had just ready. Cooking was an art, and frankly, Lia wasn't quite sure if she was very good at it. Well, Luca never complained so maybe that's a compliment?

Moving onto a side dish, Aelia pulled out some lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers as well as a few other things to add to a nice salad. Her bright green eyes were focused as she washed everything and peeled the carrots. Then, she moved about grabbing a sharp knife and started to chop everything up so that it was bite-sized. Afterall, no one wanted a chunk of carrot that was the size of their hand in a salad, right?

Halfway through preparing the salad, Lia felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand slightly as the feeling of being watched came over her. Her bright green eyes flickered up towards her husband as he spoke to her. The first compliment he'd ever given her stopping her in her chopping. "Um, thank you." She mumbled quietly, her tone giving off that she was a little confused. After all, she was just in some pink fuzzy PJ shorts and a white tank top. Her head raised and she fully looked at Luca as he continued to speak to her.

"Class was good, I'm enjoying my medical terminology class. We're learning about bones right now." Aelia said, as she picked up a cucumber slice and took a bite as she turned to face Luca. Her hip leaning into the counter as she watched the older man in front of her. "Why the sudden interest in my schooling and me?" Lia asked as she arched an eyebrow at the man. She didn't speak in an accusing tone, she was just innocently curious. This was a more intimate sort of talk then they usually share with each other. Most days they just shared polite pleasantries with each other and then walk away to continue their day.

Slowly, a small frown appeared on Aelia's lips as she started to get a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. "I haven't broken any of your rules." She told him, her voice quiet as she warily looked between him and the doorway. Doing her best to plan her escape route if Luca decided he wanted to attack her or something.

As Aelia spoke, Luca gave small nods of his head to show her that he was listening. Sometimes he did wonder if she was doing any well in her classes. While the outcome didn't matter to him, he couldn't help but be curious. There were times where he felt like she was locked away studying for days. Plus, he was paying for her classes...But as he thought about it, Luca couldn't even remember what she was going to school for. Did he even ever ask? The man wasn't sure that he had.

Luca let out a small sigh at Aelia's words. "No, you did not break any of the rules." He reassured her before pushing himself off the counter. Slowly, his eyes glanced over the meal that his wife was making before letting out a small hum. The dinners that she made for the two of them were rather interesting. It wasn't the kind of meals that he had at home but they were good enough. Aelia was by no means a five-star chef but he also did not go hungry. Though there were times he missed his food from home. Being in this strange land, away from the people he cared about sometimes tugged at his heart.

His eyes lifted back up as he looked back at Aelia. "I was just asking, thought that maybe I would try to be friendly." Luca gave her a small shrug before heading further into the kitchen and grabbing himself a glass. He headed over to the fridge and started to fill it up with water. For the most part, Luca didn't mind how they were able to cohabitate. They mostly kept to themselves and they each did their responsibility for the other. It was a system that worked and now he had to go fuck it up for one of his important partners.

But Luca was wondering if he should wait until later to tell her about their dinner. He didn't like the sudden suspicion that Aelia had. In truth, it bothered him slightly to watch how she looked warily between himself and the door. Luca made it clear that he wouldn't hurt her as long as she didn't do anything against him...even if she did, Luca couldn't hurt her. He needed her but it was best that she didn't know. "I won't ask if you don't want me."

Cocking an eyebrow was the best that Aelia could do as she listened to Luca. How else was she supposed to react? They normally didn't talk much, they didn't even say good morning or good night to each other when they're in their shared bedroo. Which, in it's self, took a lot for Aelia to get used to. Never in her wildest dream did she thing it's would be okay to share a bed with a guy, her husband sure, but he was a stranger no less.

Slowly, Aelia shifted her body as Luca walked through the kitchen to get a glass of water. Her attention now lacking on the food she was getting ready to prepare as she felt like it was a little bit more important to focus on the man who held her life in his hands. "I didn't think that soon to be mafia leaders could be nice." Lia murmured quietly, her tone insinuating that she wasn't being honest with her words. She was moreso trying to joke around with him, to try and get some of the tension that was in the air to go away.

"You can't do that to me Luca." Aelia said as she crossed her arms over her chest and gave the older man a pointed look as she watched the man with the glass of water. "You brought up having something to say, so, just say it." She said, as she stood up straight, and turned back towards the stove as she remembered that she had meatballs that were browsing. A small frown appearing on her lips as she realized that she had slightly burnt a few of them. Thankfully, they were salvageable with the gravy that she placed to make for them in a little bit.

"I'll do my best if you want help with something." Lia said as she glanced at the man out of the corner of her eye. Doing her best to offer a small smile. This was the longest they've ever really talked to each other. It was awkward, an Aelia really had no idea how to act around him. Did she act like her normal rambunctious self? Did she continue to apologize about things that she didn't fully understand? Should she just avoid eye contact at all costs? Slowly, Aelia shifted her gaze down to the last of the meatballs that needed to brown before putting them on a plate to cool so that she could get to work on the gravy for them.

Luca made a small, displeased face at her words. He didn't quite like being called out like that. Yes, he was fishing for something but that didn't mean she had to be so blunt about it. Whatever happened to the idea of the sweet doting wife? The one that tried her best to do what her husband asked of her? Though Luca supposed that one could only get that if the wife actually loved her husband... plus, he supposed, that was a bit old school.

Though once Aelia said that she would try her best to help him, Luca turned back to her. A bit of a smile now spreading across his face. Now that was what he wanted to hear. The man leaned back against the wall, taking a deep drink from his cup before setting the glass down. "Well, since you seem so eager to help, let me tell you what is going on."

With that, Luca started to get into it. "One of my business partners is a rather old fashioned man. He has a certain way of life that he likes to live and he expects his partners to follow that path with him when they are working with him. Now, the issue with this is, he knows that I am married. Not a typical issue, of course, but the man is over-eager to have dinner with the two of us. He just wants to meet you, is all. And I can guarantee that there will be no business talk during the meal. But, anyway, I have already regretted his offer too many times so now, we are going to meet him for dinner this upcoming Friday."

Luca was quick to motion to Aelia not to speak yet, not wanting her to get overly upset yet. "He really is just an older gentleman that is used to his way of business. And he is not a particularly dangerous man either. We will be going to his home, and I promise nothing will happen while we are there. I have been there a couple of times myself and he holds the belief that woman and children should never be harmed so you have nothing to fear from him."

The ladle that Aelia was using to scoop out the browning meatballs clattered onto the counter as she dropped it. Her bright green eyes widening as she turned to look towards the man she was forced to live with because of a stupid mistake on her part. Her lips were slightly parted as she listened to him. Shock running through her veins as she listened to him explain everything to her.

"H-he wants to have dinner with us?" Aelia asked as soon as she walk allowed to speak. Her body turning towards Luca a hand resting on the counter because she felt like she might fall if she didn't. "As in, you and me? Acting like we're a loving couple?" Aelia asked quietly, her bright green eyes blinking rapidly for a few moments before she settled on staring at the dangerous man.

Opening and closing her mouth a few times, Aelia tried to figure out what to say. What could she even really say? "I don't know how that'll work Luca, we don't exactly get along." Aelia pointed out. "Nor have we ever been affectionate with each other. You barely look at me when we go to bed. Not that I want you looking at me or anything." Lia rushed the last bit out and cleared her throat as she quickly turned to look away from the man she was married to. "What I'm saying is, I don't know if I could handle meeting another Mafia leader. Mr.Nicola was scary enough to meet, not to mention meeting you in that hotel. You guys are terrifying."

"Oh god," Aelia mumbled quietly as she raised a hand and placed it on her forehead. She could feel herself having a panic attack just thinking about scary mafia people. About having to act affectionate with Luca. The whole thing was terrifying. Slowly, Aelia slid down to the ground and pressed her back against the counter. "I-I don't even know how to act like a girlfriend." She mumbled quietly, her cheeks turning a light pink color as she stared at the counters across from her. "W-what do girls even do?" She mumbled quietly and ran a hand through her hair.

After a few moments of silence from Lia, she decided on her course of action. "I need some wine and some chick flicks to figure things out."

A look of surprise moved over Luca's face as he watched Aelia freak out about what he had said. "Yes, that is what I said," Luca told her before repeating himself. "He wants to have dinner with us on Friday. And we will need to act like a loving couple." The man started to fold his arms in front of his chest as he continued to watch his wife. "It is going to have to work, we need to be able to get along. And I can assure you, this man really is not that frightening."

Luke was about to lecture her on the importance of the meeting and what it really meant so that she didn't allow her imagination to run wild. Though as Aelia started to really freak out, Luca closed his mouth. Though a deep frown came over his face as she started mentioning drinking wine and watching chick flicks. Now he really did not want to hear that coming out of her mouth.

The man was quiet for a moment as he looked over his wife. He was already worried about their meeting with the man this weekend but it had only grown after watching Aelia's reaction. It would have been silly of him to think that she would not be nervous. That he had been expecting. But to hear that she didn't even know how to act like a girlfriend? That was concerning. Luca had only been thinking that she wouldn't be able to keep her cool, not that she couldn't fake being his wife!

Without hesitation, Luca headed over to Aelia and moved his hands onto her hips and pulled her into him. He reached a hand up and placed it against her cheek. His eyes searched her face, watching closely to see how she was going to react. He then leaned down and pressed a light kiss against her forehead before pulling back to meet her eyes. "Do you think you can just follow my lead if I act like this?" He whispered to her, smiling down at Aelia softly. Luca knew relationships and he was sure he could fake one. All he needed was for Aelia to not blow it up.

Blinking in surprise as Luca moved towards her, Aelia's hands instantly moved to rest on his chest. Gripping onto his suit jacket as she stared up at him with wide eyes. Her cheeks turning bright pink as she felt his hand moving to her cheek. His hand was so huge compared to her cheek, hell he was over a foot taller then her. Probably around six something, not that she's ever asked him. Luca was definitely a big guy, and Aelia felt dwarfed with her five foot even height and slender frame pressed against his athletic build.

A shaky breath escaped from Aelia as she felt Luca's lips pressing against her forehead. The action causing her eyes to close and her instincts fighting for her to accept the small act of affection, even if it was faked. "Y-yeah, I think so." She said quietly once he had pulled away and she could find the strength to open her eyes. Slowly, Aelia leaned her head forward and rested her head against his chest, not wanting to look up at him. To show him how pink her cheeks were at the moment. "I-I can play along." She mumbled, more to herself than to Luca.

The day of the dinner had arrived and Aelia, lo and behold. Was freaking out, not about faking her love for Luca though. "Oh, what do I wear?" She mumbled to herself as she pulled things out of her part of the closet and threw it onto the bed if she thought it'd be appropriate or putting it back if it wasn't. "What the hell do people wear when meeting Mafia leaders? Ugh, why hadn't anyone written an instruction manual for this!" Aelia stepped away from her closet and groaned as she looked at the bed. It was a mess, dresses she bought for the occasion littered the bed. As well as shirts, pants and whatever else could be considered more casual.

"Luca!" Aelia called out, her voice whiney as she ran her hands through her hair. "What do I wear!" She was pretty sure that Luca would be annoying her right now, letting her stew in her anxiety over something that he was pretty calm about. The damn boy grew up in this life, Lia didn't. She was just a normal girl before stumbling upon that dock in Italy. "I narrowed everything down to three choices." Aelia started to mumble, more so to herself since she wasn't sure if Luca had come when she called for him or not.

"Choice one, is a long dress but it looks to fancy. The second dress looks like it could work, but I don't want to seem like I'm not trying hard enough. An the last one looks to casual. Ugh, why is this so hard?"

Luca slowly walked into the room after he heard Aelia calling for him. He was already ready to head over to the leader's house. He had a dark blue formal shirt and black pants. Luca even went to styling his hair nicely. As he walked in, his hands were in his pockets and an eyebrow was raised. The man glanced over at Aelia, wanting to see what had gotten the young woman so stressed out.

Relaxed, Luca headed over to the dressed and looked at them one at a time. He wasn't going to lie and say that he knew a lot about fashion but he had an understanding of what to and what not to wear to something like this after listening to his mother and sisters. Luca picked up the short red dress and handed it to her. "Wear this and some black heels. My sisters normally do their hair as well but I don't think you have to."

Once Aelia took the dress from his hands, Luca headed over to the couch in their room and sat down. Despite the fact that he kinda wanted to roll his eyes at how much Aelia was freaking out, he knew better. She was helping him out with something and Luca didn't want to piss her off or freak her out more. He needed to be on his best behavior and be as nice as he could to her until they got home. Then, hopefully, things could go back to normal where they typically just ignored each other.

Luca relaxed back into the couch, laying his head back as he closed his eyes. "You have 30 minutes to get ready. After that, we will need to leave to make it on time. And, just remember, this leader is not an overly frightening one. He doesn't really kill and he has a lot of morals that most don't. So you don't need to worry. Just remember to relax and act like a loving wife and everything should go well."

A small sense of relief washed over Aelia as she heard Luca's footsteps as he entered the bedroom. She was really at a loss for what to wear. This was a new situation and she really didn't want to embarrass him by wearing something that would be considered too casual or to fancy. Sure, it was just dinner, but was it really? Was this guy scooping them out to see if Luca was up for the challenge of being a boss? Could he be checking to make sure that Luca wasn't a liar and a danger to his men? So many possibilities could happen because of this, so she needed to be perfect, she needed to look like the kind of woman that Luca would have on his arm.

"Right. Thank you." Aelia said quietly as she took his advice and grabbed her red dress. In a perfect world, she would have kissed his cheek as a thank you. This wasn't though, so she just took the dress with her and headed towards the bathroom. She closed the door slightly when she was inside.

Moving towards the sink, Aelia got out some of her make-up to put on. "What kind of leader are you?" Aelia asked, not even realizing that she had as she rinsed her face off with water and then started to put on some make-up. Keeping it nice and light since it was late and she highly doubted that they'd be doing a lot tonight. So, just a little blush, some light lipstick, and eyeliner to make her eyes pop a little bit more. Not even daring to try and be fancy with the winged liner that models do.

Then, Lia grabbed her heating curling iron and gave her hair some waves to it before unplugging it and getting dressed. Smoothing the dress out, Aelia glanced at herself in the mirror and was surprised. She looked really pretty, the dress she bought was kinda an out of the blue buy, but it looked really cute. Although, it was kinda low, she couldn't argue that it flattered her body.

"How do I look?" Aelia asked as she opened the bathroom door and did a little twirl in the doorway. The dress fluttered a little bit around her thighs, making her smile a little bit more. Then, she went to the closet and grabbed her heels that Luca suggested. "Now, I'm fully ready." She said quietly as she turned towards Luca and held her hand out for his, needing some help walking down the stairs in her heels.

A long hum left Luca at Aelia's question. What kind of leader was he? Now that was still up to debate. He was only getting started now, in France. As to how Luca was going to conduct his business, that was still up in the air. What he was playing with right now was a thin line. One where he could potentially become a pushover or a ruthless psycho. Luca wanted to be in the middle. Strong, powerful but not violent for violence sake. A man with a mission, a purpose, and a plan.

"That is still undecided," Luca responded to her. He figured that she would see the kind of leader he was before their relationship ended. Maybe she would get the answer to her question one day, but maybe she wouldn't either. Not that Luca cared much either way. Aelia was not part of his family. She was temporary and that was all he really needed to know.

As Aelia headed out of the bathroom, Luca opened his eyes and slowly pushed himself off of the couch. He glanced over at her, taking a moment to take Aelia in. A pleased smile moved over his face as he looked at her. Aelia really was quite a beautiful woman. It seemed that he was lucky not to get stuck with someone ugly. "You look perfect," Luca told her honestly. As she reached out a hand for his, Luca took it. He lead her out the door and down the stairs, making sure to move a bit slower so she wouldn't trip and fall.

Once outside, Luca opened up the door for Aelia and helped her into the car before getting into the driver's seat. He pulled away from the house and started to make his way towards the other mafia boss. "Now, promise me that you will not freak out too much. Just trying to stay calm."

A small tingling sensation filled Aelia's stomach as Luca told her that she looked perfect. It wasn't a compliment on her appearance that she was looking for, but, it was Luca she asked. So, she'll have to take what she could get. "Thanks." She said quietly before following after him out of their shared bedroom and out of the house. A small sense of relief washing over her as he thankfully walked slower since she was in heels.

Getting in the car, Aelia was surprised that she was allowed in the passenger seat. Most of the time when she had to go somewhere, his men made her sit in the back. She was treated like royalty by his men, always guarded, always watched over. With Luca, it was like she was finally a normal person once more. An for that, she couldn't help but to silently stare at him through the corner of her eye.

"Don't worry, I already know. I'll be following your lead the whole time." Aelia said quietly, blinking slowly as she broke her stare. Her gaze quickly moving to look out the window to her side as they drove down different streets and entered different parts of the city that she usually didn't venture into. "I didn't know you could drive," Aelia said quietly, trying to make small talk in the car. "I thought your men would drive you everywhere as they do for me. Is there a reason for that?" She glanced in the rearview mirror and watched the car that his men were in keeping a small distance from them. Giving them some space to drive, but also keeping an eye on them.

By the time they got to this Mafia bosses house, Aelia was pretty relaxed. Talking about random things seemed to have taken the nerves out of her. Although she didn't learn about Luca, it was still nice he was giving her simple answers. It was more than he usually gave her at home anyways.

Waiting for Luca to open her door once he parked, Aelia happily took his hand as she got out. Glancing over, Aelia could see that the front door was already opening, so she put on her brightest smile. Without even giving Luca any warning, she leaned up and pressed a small his too his cheek. "Come on Luc, let's not keep him waiting." She said quietly, giving a shorter version of his already short name.

"AH, c'est donc ta belle femme dont j'ai tant entendu parler!" The old man at the door said as he watched the young couple coming up to greet him. A light blush dusted over Aelia's cheeks at the word beautiful. She cast a glance up towards Luca before looking back towards the older man. "Thank you for the invite, sir. I'm Aelia Massina." She said quietly, leaning into Luca's side a little as she felt nervous speaking to the older man. "Ah, don't worry about the formalities. Just call me Dedushka." The old man said, and then ushered the two inside where it was safer.

    1. AH, so this is the beautiful wife of yours I've heard so much about! (French)

"It would not be proper of me to bring my men to a dinner invite with another mob boss. That is like saying that I do not trust him or showing that I have the possibility of ill intent. It is even worse when you are wanting to be business partners with the man. So, I am driving us there." Luca responded before continuing on. "Also, I can drive extremely well. It was important that I was trained properly in case I was ever being chased or shot at. Though, I prefer to have someone drive me around who is better at it than I am. Also, I do not love driving in general."

Luca glanced over to Aelia with a bit of a smirk. "But, of course, I will have my men close by in case something goes wrong. They just will not be coming to the house and will park a block away at the least. If my partner finds out, he should not be overly upset by this but it is best not to mention it."

Once they were at the house, Luca parked before heading over to Aelia's door. He opened it and then offered his hand to the woman, helping her out of the car. As she leaned up and whispered to him, a warm smile came over his face. It seemed that Aelia was getting ready to partake in her role of loving wife. "Of course, mio amore." Luca whispered back before he wrapped an arm around her waist and lead Aelia towards the door.

Before they even were at the entrance, the older man was at the door to welcome them into his home. Luca smiled widely at Dedushka as he complimented her. Of course, it was now his duty to be proud of Aelia, like he was the luckiest man in the world to have married her. As Aelia introduced herself and leaned into him, Luca lightly rubbed small circles into her side, wanting Aelia to calm down a bit.

"It is good to see you," Luca spoke warmly as he headed into the house with Aelia. Once in the entrance, he assisted her in sliding off her coat before Dedushka took it to hang up in the closet. He then followed the gentleman further into his house, presumably heading towards the dining room to partake in dinner. "How have you been over the last week?"

As they walked into the mansion, Aelia couldn't help it as her bright green eyes looked around. Taking in the appearance of the place. Beautiful paintings hung on the wall, ones that she was pretty sure cost more then she'd ever see in her bank account. Even with Luca sending her money monthly.

Heels clacking was the only sound that Aelia made as she followed the men. "Thank you." She said quietly as Luca helped her. Then offered a kind smile towards their host for the night. He seemed more like an old friend than a mafia boss and that surprised Aelia. Not to mention that she didn't see any of his men guarding the house as they pulled up. Causing her to wonder what sort of system he could have in place, or if he was just so full of himself that he didn't need protection.

A small hum escaped from the older man as he led the two visitors through his home. "I have been quite well, nothing really out of the ordinary." The older man said, waving his hand away as a motion that one shouldn't worry about him. "Business is booming like usual, as the young ones say." Dedushka glanced towards Aelia with a kind smile and gave her a wink, hinting that his words were a joke. Which in turn caused Aelia's lips to lift slightly. It would seem that this Dedushka man wasn't as scary as she had originally thought.

Entering the dining room, Aelia watched as Dedushka moved towards the head of a beautiful dark cherry wood table that could easily seat ten people. Two crystal chandeliers hung above the table, giving the table and the room a sort of aura that made one feel lucky to be there. Following Luca towards their seats, Aelia sat down and rested her hands in her lap politely.

Not even a moment after they all sat down, a couple of servers came out to them and started to place down a beautifully cooked Steak Diane accompanied by a side salad. An a wine that Dedushka said would pair amazingly well with the steak and the salad.

"I am glad to hear it," Luca told him with a wide smile on his face. Of course, Luca wanted the man to be well. He was his business partner, after all. Though, more than that, Luca knew he needed to continue to be on his best behavior if he wanted to stay on Dedushka's good graces. Being a gentleman was important to the older man. And while Luca could fail in doing so, it would mean that the man would be unwilling to work with him. At least he wasn't like other bosses, who would try to kill him if their venture ended.

With that thought at the forefront of his mind, Luca glanced over at Aelia to ensure that she was settled well. He knew she was scared coming here, and he wanted to make sure it wasn't written all over her face. But, it seemed that Aelia was doing much better than he expected. He patted her knee gently, wanting to keep his wife calm before turning his attention back to the man.

"Aelia and I have been doing great. I believe married life really suits us." Luca said before glancing over at Aelia with a large, almost teasing smile. "Wouldn't you agree, sweetie?" He teased lightly, clearly joking with her. "Actually, she has just started going to classes at the university. Sometimes, she is so busy that I forget that we're married!" Luca said with a warm laugh. "But she is doing so well so far and I couldn't be prouder."

Dedushka let out an interested hum before turning his attention to Aelia. "Is that true?" The older man said with a grin. "What are you going to classes for?" He asked, taking a moment to look Aelia over before speaking again. "I hope you do not mind if I make a guess, but is it business?"

As the two men spoke, it seemed to send a calm aura through the room. It almost felt breathable to Aelia and she was relishing in that. She would give anything to go home right now, change into her pj's and sit on the couch to eat the ice cream she hid in the fridge while watching Supernatural. This whole dinner wasn't her scene, she was a normal girl, not a mafia leader's wife. Well, not really anyways. In name mostly.

Feeling something touching her knee, Aelia snapped out of her thoughts and glanced towards her knee before looking towards Luca. It seemed that the man was reading her mind, sensing that she was uneasy the more they sat there. Lia did her best to offer him a small smile as she turned back into the conversation that the two men were having. Then, a light blush appeared on her cheeks as Luca teased her sweetly.

"Don't call me that in front of other's, you know how easy it is for me to blush." Lia said quietly, her cheeks indeed turning a bright pink as she glanced away from the two men shyly. Her fingers slowly fidgeted together as she glanced back towards the men as the men spoke. Her lips pursing together ever so slightly as Luca spoke about her. She wasn't so sure she liked a Mafia leader knowing what she did in her own time, but, it seemed like the cat was out of the bag and she wouldn't be able to catch it anytime soon.

"Actually, that's my minor." Aelia said as she glanced towards Dedushka and then looked at Luca before looking back towards the older man. "My main degree is going to be in Art History." She told him, a small smile coming onto her lips as she glanced down briefly before looking back towards him. "I'm hoping to be able to work in a art museum once I graduate."

Luca glanced over at Aelia, listening closely as she spoke. In truth, he did not know what her major was, or what she was even planning on doing with her degree once she did graduate. There were certain things about Aleia that Luca ensured that he knew about, like her whereabouts, and whether or not she was going to betray him. But her major was at the bottom of his list. Luca had paid for her schooling and decided that was enough on that. But, perhaps if he was going to continue this loving husband routine up, he should listen sometimes.

"Ah, well good for you," Dedushka said with a warm smile, giving Aelia a small nod as he did so. "It is easy to understand why Luca is so proud of you, especially with a clear goal like that." The man then looked over at Luca for a moment and let out a light chuckle. "Though I am sure that soon, if he wanted to, Luca could buy you an art museum."

The man let out a warm laugh at Dedushka's words before nodding to him. "Hopefully, that will be true. Though I imagine that Aelia would prefer for her career to be on her own merit. She is a determined young women and would hate if anyone would even assume that she was given her position based on anything but her own hard work." Luca glanced over at Aelia with a wide smile. "But, if she wanted all of the art in the world, I would get it for her."

Luca reached over and gently patted her hand before wrapping his fingers with hers. He reached her hand up and pressed a light kiss to it before finally letting her go to finish the rest of her meal.

A small sense of warmth spread through Aelia as she listened to Dedushka and Luca both speaking about how impressed they were with her goals. When most people hear of her aspirations, they'd comment on how boring her ideas seem. Who wanted to spend hours in a museum? Much less looking at paintings that people have done thousands of years ago. Why not look into actual history jobs, learn about mummies or something. No, Aelia liked art. Her grandfather used to be a artist and she's wanted to try and follow his path for as long as she could remember.

The feel of Luca's hand on hers once more brought Aelia out of her daydream and glanced up at him. Her bright eyes blinking in surprise as she watched him raise her hand and kiss the back of it. A small smile playing across Lia's cheeks at the small little action that he had bestowed upon her. "Thank you, Luca." Lia said quietly, giving the man who was both her captor as well as her husband. She kept her eyes soft on him for a couple of moments more before looking back towards her meal and finishing what she could.

It seemed that the rest of the dinner had gone on smoothly. Small talk was exchanged between the three of them. Small smiles escaping Aelia's notice as well as the occassional blush that spread across her cheeks in waves. Coming and going every now and again as she recieved compliments, or was teased. It was like they were all friends, as Dedushka was such a calm and genuine man. Why Luca didn't feel comfortable around him was beyone Aelia's notice.

Once the plates were empty and the wine gone, Dedushka stood up and smiled at the both of them. Luca grinned back as he moved onto his feet as well. And once Aelia was too, he wrapped his arm around her waist protectively. "It was a pleasure to have both of you here." Dedushka said, shaking his hand with Luca before turning to Aelia for a moment. "And I am so glad that you were able to meet me tonight." He said warmly.

Luca lightly rubbed the side of her waist as Dedushka spoke directly to her, trying to ensure that Aelia would stay calm. They were almost homebound and he didn't want anything getting ruined in the last few moments of their dinner. "I hope that I will see the two of you again. Perhaps, next time, I can give you a tour of the gardens. They may not be priceless works of art, but I assure you that it is still quite impressive."

The wine must have started going to her head, because as soon as Aelia was standing and felt Luca wrapping his arm around her. She rested her head on his shoulder as she wrapped her arm around his back and leaned into his warmth. A small sigh escaping from her lips. Pink tinted cheeks obvious with the contrast of Luca's dark suit jacket.

A slight smile tugged on Aelia's lips as she smiled at Dedushka. "It was nice to meet you as well," Aelia said quietly, as she looked up and smiled at Luca calmly. Then, she looked back towards the older man who looked like he was a grandfather to somebody. "That sounds like it'll be fun." She told him, doing her best to seem interested in the idea. "We'll have to look through our schedules and plan a day to do that."

Dedushka smiled at Aelia and gave her a small nod. "I am very happy to hear that." He said as he led them back towards the front door. The man opened the door up and waved goodbye to them both before closing the door to his home. Luca then took Aelia over to the car, opened the passenger door for her and helped her into the car before closing the door and heading over to his side.

Once Luca was in the car, he let out a sigh of relief. "Well, we made it through that dinner." He said as he started to pull them out of the driveway. When they were on the road, he glanced over at Aelia for a moment before shaking his head a bit. "But I wish you wouldn't have mentioned scheduling a time to walk through the garden. He is going to expect us to come back now.
