Stepping back a little bit, Gio watched Arielle as she moved towards the fountain. He kept his pace slower as he followed behind her. Allowing her to have some space as she took in the interesting display of the fountain. Then, he stopped walking and allowed for the Princess to make her way around it on her own. "It's true name is the Fountain Of Life." He told her, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jacket.

"It's named that because of those tendrils at the top." Gio paused to motion for her to look at them. "Are suppose to signify souls that are traveling towards Heaven. In the artists' representation, he pictured souls as smoke-like things and travel upwards, and like smoke. It just keeps going up and up." Gio shrugged his shoulders as he finished. He had just read the plaque that was on the front of the fountain, and wanting to seem cool, he rephrased it and tried to seem cool.

"What do you think?" Giovanni asked as he moved to stand a bit closer to the Human Princess. "Do you have any odd statues where you're from?" Raising his head, Gio looked around the small park. It was so quiet out, it was hard to believe that it wasn't the dead of night or something.

Slowly, shifting his gaze, Gio looked around for what else they could do before moving on to find some greenhouse for the Princess. "In walking distance, there are a few things for us to do." He said, looking back down towards the Princess. "We can go to a local cafe and get some drinks, there's a quaint bookstore nearby, possibly a chocolate shop nearby is open as well or we could just walk around the city center and see what catches your eye."

Smoothing out his outfit of the day. Gio waited patiently for the Princess to bring up what she wanted to do. He knew she wanted to go to a greenhouse, but that'd have to wait as the closest one was a few miles away near the edge of town.

"I think it is quite lovely," Arielle said as she turned to look back at the fountain in front of her. "And, yes, we do have some odd statues at home. There is one in particular that comes to mind though." Her eyes dropped for a moment in thought before she continued on. "Instead of just telling you, perhaps I will bring you to it when you come to visit my country." Her eyes lifted back up as she glanced back at Giovanni, watching him closely now that she had said that. She wanted to watch his reaction, to see what he thought about going to her home. She knew she didn't want him there - ever- but it was important to figure out if he felt the same.

Now that she had walked around the fountain, the princess turned so she was facing Giovanni. Her hands slid back into her dress. The coin now sliding between her fingers once again. She had been hoping for more of an audience at the fountain as the thought had occurred to her to make it look like he pushed her in. But that was not going to happen and now they needed to continue on.

"The chocolate shop sounds interesting. As well as walking around the city. I would like to see more of the capital." Arielle couldn't think of any opportunities at the cafe or the bookstore. As for the chocolate shop, that had everything to do with just wanting chocolate. Though a walk around the city would be interesting. She was curious as to what a vampire town looked like. Besides, some opportunity for a terrible photo op had to come up.

Once Giovanni took the lead again, Arielle started to follow him to the streets. The park might have been empty but surely there would be people walking around town. Probably the reason why Giovanni wanted to go where the people were. "Prince Giovanni, do you come into the city often? What things do you enjoy doing with your free time?"

An arch of his eyebrow and a casual hum escaped from Gio as the Princess dodged the chance to talk about her home. Instead of offering to just show him when he had to go and visit her people. "Sure, Princess. I'd enjoy that." He told her, playing along and offering her a small smile as he played the cool card and agreed. He honestly wasn't very interested in going to her Kingdom, but, he needed to win this bet so whatever she wanted he'd find the appropriate answer for it.

Once she decided on where she wanted to go, Gio nodded his head and started to lead her. His pace slow as he wanted to allow the Princess enough time to take in the city and what it had to offer them. Art, music, and a calming environment. Vampires weren't all monsters after all. Some of them did enjoy having some color in their lives.

"What I enjoy in my free time?" Giovanni repeated, slowly his pace so that the Princess was walking next to him instead of behind him. "I like to go to a bar with my friends and have a drink or two. Or, I quite enjoy relaxing outside with a good book." He told her, slightly lying as he really didn't care for books. The pool part though, he enjoyed. Especially when there were hot girls walking around in their bikini's.

As they neared the shop, Gio smiled a little. He could see the open sign glowing and that the door was open, allowing the sweet smell of freshly melted chocolate to wafer through the air. "What about you?" Gio asked as he stopped walking so that Arielle could get into the shop first.

The two workers in the chocolate shop looked up as the two royals walked in and offered them smiles. Ones obviously faltering for a moment as he smelled the human scent from the Princess. Gio sent the wary one a look, which made him smile nervously instead. "Pick whatever you want," Gio told Arielle as he walked towards the display and looked at what they had for sale for the day.

The princess turned her head slightly to look up at Giovanni for a moment. She was not sure that she believed what the prince said about his free time. It seemed unlikely. Of course, the princess didn't know everything about his life, but she had done some research before coming here. There were plenty of news and paparazzi photos of what the prince got up to. Though who knew how much of it was true, and she wasn't going to judge anyone for having a bit of fun. Still, she was sure there was more to it than going to a bar for a drink and reading a book.

"I enjoy gardening and painting. I have a greenhouse at home." Arielle told him as she walked into the chocolate store with him. She thought it was best to give him her hobbies that she knew he wouldn't care about. If she could make herself as uninteresting as possible, maybe he would try to get out of this arrangement. If they were working on both sides, even without the knowledge of what the other was doing, it might actually work.

Lifting her eyes up, Arielle looked over at the two men in the chocolate shop. Her face dropped down into a frown as she watched how one of the workers looked at her. The man could tell that she didn't belong, that she was food. It was... unsettling. Coming into town was definitely a mistake but now she just needed to roll with it.

As chills ran down her back, she headed over to the to the display and glanced at the chocolate. There were a few... odd flavors in the display. Though she did her best to avoid those altogether and pointed out a few that seemed worth trying.

As Arielle spoke, Giovanni did his best to make sounds of interest at the correct moments. Even though he honestly wasn't paying any attention to them at all. He really didn't care, he just wanted to make her feel like he was making an effort. When in reality he was just bull shitting this whole thing. He much rather goes home and suck a few humans dry after this dull conversation they were having ends.

"What sort of things do you paint?" Gio asked as he pulled out his credit card that was linked to the royal funds and paid for her chocolates. He didn't really want any chocolates, instead, he had gone for a milkshake to sate his hunger for something he couldn't have at the moment.

Grabbing his drink, Gio took a few sips of his chocolate peanut butter milkshake and turned towards the Princess. Waiting for her to be done picking out her treats before he took his card back from the employees.

He needed to seem like he cared about the Princess in front of the employees, so Gio did what any sensible soon to be married couple would do. "You want to try some of this? It's really good." He told her, holding out the cold drink for her to grab in case she wanted to have a few sips or not.

"You mention that you have a greenhouse, do you have a good green thumb then? What do you grow?" He asked, wanting to keep her talking so that the silence between them didn't take over and make him go crazy.

(For some reason I picture Gio with a British accent....)

Surprise was creeping into Arielle as Giovanni started to ask questions about her hobbies. She had assumed that the Prince would just nod and leave well enough alone but he was asking follow up questions about it. Arielle had to stop her eyebrow from rising but clear surprise was still showing through her eyes.

"Mostly landscapes and scenes," Arielle told him honestly. There was no reason to lie about that. Besides, it would be too easy for him to get access to her personal artwork anyways. "I have been working on people but faces are rather difficult."

As he offered his milkshake, her eyes dropped down to it. Oh, she definitely did not want to share anything with him. Food or otherwise. "No thank you. I don't like ice cream." Arielle lied with a smile. In truth, the princess loved ice cream as it was one of her favorite desserts but it seemed like the best way to say no.

Taking the chocolate from the man behind the counter, Arielle pulled one out of the bag and took a bit. Despite how creepy the man was, the chocolate they made was rather delicious. With that done, she turned and headed out of the store with the vampire by her side. Her eyes glanced around the street for a moment before turning to an area they hadn't gone.

Arielle turned her attention back to the prince as he asked more questions. There was definitely something weird going on with him today...unless this was his normal self and he was acting weird yesterday? Either way, she didn't like it. The princess didn't want him to torment her but she didn't want him to try to make an effort on this sham engagement either. It would be best if he wanted to stay away from her as much as she wanted to stay away from him. Even better if he tried to get this canceled as well.

"I mostly grow exotic plants. Ones that are difficult to find and tend to be hard to care for." Arielle told him. "So, I would like to think that I am pretty good at it."

(I can see that for him!)

All of this playing nice stuff was really getting quite boring. Giovanni chewed on the end of his shake's straw as he followed along, biding his time. He wanted nothing more than to tell her how boring her hobbies were and how it wasn't very lady like her to be in a garden. Painting, on the other hand, seemed very proper though.

"You like challenged then, I'm guessing," Gio said as he followed the young human out of the sweets shop. His eyes glancing around for a moment before looking ahead. Keeping one step behind Arielle as he casually strode along. Not in any sort of hurry to get to where ever she decided she wanted to go or see. This was his home, after all, he knew the capital like the back of his hand pretty much.

Releasing his straw from his persistent chewing, Giovanni licked his lips. The sweet treat wasn't helping him as much as he'd of hoped and that was causing him to slightly worry. The last thing he needed was to drag Arielle to a blood shop to pick up something to fill his thirst. That would be a very bad move on his part.

"With your paintings." Gio backtracked a little. "Have you put any of them in museums or showed them in shows?" He asked, glancing down at the Princesses ass as she walked in front of him before looking ahead so that she wouldn't catch him. "Why don't you try painting me? My face is pretty nice to look at. I'm pretty easy on the eyes as well if I do say so." At the last bit, Gio couldn't help but smirk, finding his words to be amusing and true at the same time.

Glancing up, Gio's eyes widened as he quickly reached out and grabbed Arielle's arm. He pulled her back. Causing the Princess to actually bump into his chest as well. In front of them, a group of vampires was huddled together in a group in an alley. Their eyes showing how hungry they were because of how they were glowing. "Careful, Farel's seem to be in the area," Gio said as he eyed the men in the alley.

Once grabbed, Arielle's body tensed up and she let out a small squeak. Her back pressed into his chest and, instinctually, Arielle started to pull away, wanting to keep her distance between her and Giovanni. As she reached into her pocket, grasping onto the coin tightly, her head turned to follow what Giovanni was pointing out, the group of vampires. They looked the princess over hungrily, their fangs out as they looked ready to pounce on her.

The possibility of an attack was rising significantly now, whether or not Giovanni and his family planned anything was irrelevant at that current moment. Fear was taking over the princess again at the sight of them and having a vampire hover over her, touching her didn't make it any better.

Her fist tightened around the coin more so, preparing herself to use it against them if she needed to. The princess didn't want to show her cards if she didn't have to, but she would if she needed to. The frightened feeling was coming back in full force. She was quick to shake Giovanni's arm off of her and step away, wanting to create some distance between them. Though she didn't move far, her eyes now focused on both threats.

With her fear now in control, Arielle's heart was beating at a mile a minute, her fingers were even shaking. Damn why did she have to be sent to this forsaken place? To them all she was just some weak little prey that they could feed upon and having Giovanni with her did nothing to ease her worries. Going into town was such a bad fucking idea.

"I want to leave." Arielle told him rather quickly. "Bring me back to the castle." It didn't matter if he knew she was afraid. She didn't care anymore if he caught onto her fear of vampires. Arielle wanted to get away from them all and she wanted to get away now.

The sight of the feral's in town was not a good sight. They were the lesser vampires. Ones that didn't work, couldn't afford the cheap blood that the Kingdom sold to them in blood banks. They were the few that believed in complete slavery, that paying the humans they used that stupid and under them. Ferals were the dirt under Royal's feet and the fact that they dared to show themselves in the upper part of the Capital really pissed Gio off.

A low rumble escaped from the Prince's chest as he glared at the group. His attention shifting towards the Princess as she pulled away from him. As much as Gio wouldn't of minded watching the Feral's drain her dry. he knew he needed to protect her. Even though he didn't care if she lived or died. She was just a pawn in what would inevitably happen. Vampires will take over the world.

Standing up straight, Giovanni breathed out through his mouth. Casting one last glare towards the Feral's before he turned towards the PRincess and motioned for her to start walking the way that they had come. "Car's that way." He told her as he shoved his hands into his pockets. This was not how he wanted the day to go, but, at least it ended it nice and quickly.

As they walked towards the car, Gio was sure to keep a step behind the Princess. His sharper eyes looking around as he tried to make sure that they weren't being followed. His enhances hearing picking up any sound that seemed out of place. They were safe for now, it didn't seem like they were being followed. So, that was good.

"Are you hurt?" Giovanni asked after a while. His gaze on the young girl in front of him. He took in her stance, looking to see if she had somehow gotten a scratch or a bruise on her. Anything at all, really. He'll be in a heap of trouble if she did. "Arielle, speak to me." Gio used his commanding tone, not wanting her to ignore him. He may be an ass to her, but, Gio cared for his country and if making sure that she was alright would stop a damn war. Then he'd do it.

Arielle immediately stopped walking and spun on her heel as Giovanni used his commanding voice on her. "Don't do that." She snapped at him, keeping her voice low so that those around wouldn't be able to hear. "You are not in charge of me. You do not get to command me around. I don't know what your problem is but you need to figure it out and leave me out of it. You have gone through teasing me, tormenting me at dinner, and then you thought 'oh maybe I should bring her into town and pretend to be nice to her so we can get some nice fucking shots for the paparazzi' in a 24 hour period. And now this is the last straw. You can stop pretending like you give a fuck and go back to whatever it is you usually do but leave me alone."

The princess then turned back on her feet, wrapping her arms around her as she made her way to the car. It wasn't in Arielle's nature to lose her temper like that but she was panicked and stressed. Being surrounded by vampires had been terrifying enough but seeing those ferals had caused her blood to run cold. The threat of getting sucked dry was constant and she wasn't prepared to deal with the many personalities of Giovanni.

She started to flip the coin around in her pocket, getting ready to pull it out in an instant if she needed to. It was likely that Giovanni would be furious after she lost it on him. Arielle would use it on the man if she absolutely had to. Though now she had another issue at the forefront of her mind. Heading home with Giovanni now wasn't preferable. Was there a way to call a cab, specifically with a human driver? Perhaps that was taking things a bit too far...

After all, Arielle was going to have to get along with Giovanni even after her little outbursts. She just wanted him to stop messing with her. It was like he was trying to play mind games and Arielle hated that feeling.

Oh, this girl was not going to last long here. She was going to go too far with her words and her attitude one of these days and Gio will be damn sure she'll get herself hurt. Her little stuck up attitude is going to be the cause of everything bad that is going to happen in her life. Sure, Gio himself might be the caught of her little attitude, but the least she could do was thank him for saving her snotty little ass.

A scowl slowly formed on the Prince's lips as he started to stalk after the girl. His head shook a little bit from side to side as he bit his tongue to hold back his words. "Trust me, Princess, I would gladly ignore you if I was given the chance," Gio told her as he bumped his shoulder against hers as he walked past her, shoving his hands into his pockets, Gio cast a glance back at Arielle.

"Hurry those human legs up, we're heading back to the castle to tell our parents that your prissy little ass is too good to be here." Gio snorted and turned his head forward. Fuck his deal with Jax, he'd rather lick a salt block then dealing with a human for the sake of a truce between the two Kingdoms. "Just know that your attitude is what's going to get the humans in your Kingdom slaughtered or enslaved," Gio said as he stopped by his car and held open the door for Arielle to get in.

Even if Arielle tried to get away from him and find another way back to the castle, Gio would be sure to throw her over his shoulder kicking and screaming. She was not going to get in a cab with a vampire, she will not be walking all the way back to the castle. Nor will she take a ride from a stranger, for she was his responsibility in the capital. Even though he hated it, he'll get her back safely.

The moment those words left Gio's lips, Arielle stopped in her tracks. Her blood ran cold and she dropped her head, looking off to the side. Normally, it was so easy for Arielle to keep her cool but it felt impossible to do so in her current situation. She was frightened of everything around her and Giovanni didn't have a single kind or empathic bone in his body. Damn, if only she was allowed to stake the asshole right in his fucking heart. Even if it didn't work, it would make her feel better.

Though, now she had an issue on her hands and one that was important to fix. Her plan was falling apart due to her own failures and she couldn't let Gio tell his parents that. She needed out of this marriage but in a way that allowed the countries to keep peace. His words caused her to question if Gio knew the whole story as to why peace had occurred but that was for another time...

As much as the princess hated to do it, Arielle started to cry. It was doubtful that Giovanni would feel anything from this but at least if she came back to the castle with red, puffy eyes, they would have some doubt in his words. Besides, it didn't matter if the vampires thought she was emotional, they already saw her as weak. "Why are you so cruel to me?" She whimpered out. "I know this was what neither of us wanted but... I-I thought it wouldn't be so bad. I thought we would be able to get along to some degree since we both were in the same position. But since I've gotten here... I know what you were trying to do at dinner last night and at the plane - "

While Arielle was speaking, there were sudden flashes of lights. The princess glanced to the side for a moment, seeing a few vampires taking pictures of them. Thinking quick on her feet, Arielle continued. She had never cried in public before and this was sure to outrage her people. Arielle started to cry harder and was quick to cover up her face as though she didn't want the photos to be captured of her. She was sure they already got what they needed. "I am not some kind of play thing! I am not your meal! Why do you keep treating me like I am nothing!" Arielle dropped her voice into a whisper. "I just wanted to get through this but you're making it impossible. Why are you trying to scare me? To torment me?"

What a time for the damn paparazzi to show up. Those damn assholes really did like to ruin the Prince's reputation it seemed. Closing his eyes, Gio allowed for Arielle to rant and cry and let all of her emotions out. He really didn't have anything to say because it wasn't like she was wrong in anything. She had points and had things that he didn't agree with. They were both living creatures, so they needed to find common ground. Even though Gio hated it, he listened.

Then, once she was done. Gio slid off his jacket and wrapped it around the Princess, covering her head with it as he pulled her into his chest. He didn't dare look down at her as he spoke, because he was sure if she saw his face, she'd realize he was just as conflicted as she was about everything. "When the hell have you ever heard of a human and a vampire being friends? In your what, eighteen years of life, how many? Because in my couple hundred years, I have not to heart about one, not once had a vampire and a human become friends. Much fewer lovers, or even a married couple."

Slowly, the Prince licked his lips, not sure what else he's supposed to say at a moment like this. Comforting girls was not something that he's used no, nor was it something he's ever done before. He was always the one breaking hearts and turning his back to them. With Arielle though, he couldn't do that. She was different, she was his betrothed, and even if they were different species, he couldn't allow for her to be upset with him.

"I have not said a single mean thing to you today. I have tried my best to give you a good time, to show you around. You are the one making it difficult, Arielle." Gio's voice was quiet as he spoke to her, keeping her close so that she didn't go off and flaunt her red puffy eyes towards the paparazzi. "I decided last night that I'd be good for you, that I'd try and make this arrangement work, but if you don't want anything to happen. Then fine, cry, ruin the truce, but just know. This is the first time in years since our two kingdoms have shown peace between each other. That this is the first time I've been nice to someone of your species, and it's all going to be gone in a matter of hours because of you and the paparazzi."

Slowly, Gio took in a deep breath and pulled away from Arielle and placed his hands on her shoulders. "I can feel your heart beating from fear, hell I can freaking hear it. But, if you don't want to try and get over that damn fear, then continue to act like a child and hide, let your fear dictate your life. You'll never grow if you continue to let fear control you."

As Gio wrapped his jacket around her and pulled her into his chest, Arielle's heart started frantically beating again. Though, admittedly, his actions were a lot nicer than she had assumed he would do. She had been expecting him to yell at her or try to scare her or just she her into the car. Arielle took a small breath before laying her forehead against his chest. She needed to act like she was trying with him. "I have never heard of a single one." Arielle whispered. "But, if there are any, wouldn't they all keep it a secret?" She paused for a moment before continuing on. "We don't have to be any of that. We don't even have to like each other. I just want us to find a common ground where we can be near each other without driving one another crazy."

"I have been trying to get over my fear but you haven't been helping any." Arielle mumbled to him. She closed her eyes for a moment before letting out a small sigh, trying to calm her heart down but also to give herself a moment to think. The princess knew that this could be a great moment forward for her getting out of the marriage, but it would be a setback from keeping the peace. And, right now, she needed to get the vampiric royalty to like her before both families would agree to break off the marriage but keep the peace deal. Arielle knew she needed to stop acting impulsively and start thinking logically or she was going to get everyone from both sides killed.

The princess kept her head down into his chest and whispered. "They aren't close enough to hear what we are saying. I can fix this paparazzi issue if you promise to not to act or pretend or say you're going to eat me. I know you are above me on the food chain, I don't need to reminder." Once Giovanni promised, Arielle reached up and lightly pressed her hands against his chest before leaning up and pressing a light kiss against his cheek. After she noticed a few flashes through her closed eyes, Arielle pulled back and smiled up at him lightly. "We should leave."

She headed to the seat that Giovanni had already opened the door for. Though, before she knew it, some of the paparazzi were basically on top of them. Arielle went a bit rigid, not used to anyone being able to move that fast. Still, she continued into the car, as a few of them started to yell at them. 'Another Kiss for the Road!' 'Why were you crying princess?' 'Tell us, Giovanni, are you going to bring her to your parties?' Arielle looked up at paparazzi as the cameras continued to flash. She knew her eyes were still red but Arielle had a feeling that kiss picture would be on their magazines more than anything else.

"Prince Giovanni and I ran into some Farel. I am sure you can imagine how that went. Though I am grateful that Giovanni was there." Arielle looked up at the prince and gave him a soft smile before she made the rest of the way into the car and the door closed behind her. That should give the paparazzi the story they needed and should satisfy the prince's worries.

The whole kiss thing was quite a surprise for Gio. Not that he hadn't been kissed by a girl before, but because he wasn't expecting Arielle to do that. She always seemed so shy, so high and mighty and for her to do something like that really threw the Prince off of his game. Which was why as they drove, he didn't speak a single word to her. His eyes and focus just on the things that were in front of him.

Resting his right arm on the windowsill of the car, Gio bends his arm and rubbed at his mouth lightly. His fangs were bothering him a little bit, he needed to feed, and all of this shit with the press was going to give him one monster of a headache later. He just knew it, so he wanted to be ready for when the shit hit the fans. Sure, he was pretty sure that his parents and hers weren't going to be upset about it, they'd probably be glad that the duo was getting along. His friends on the other hand, and the civilians? Ugh, he didn't want to think about that.

It wasn't until they were about halfway to the palace that Giovanni pulled the car over to the side of the road. "Get out." Was all Gio said before getting out of the car and walked to her side. He still acted like the gentleman he wasn't and opened the door for her, but as soon as it was, he started to walk off towards the grassy side of the hill he parked next to. Shoving his hands into his pockets, Gio walked till he was on the other side.

The view on the other side of the hill, the view that was hidden from those in a car was amazing. The green grass as far as anyone could see. Random fields of bright yellow, red, white and pink flowers littered the area. A small stream even ran through one of the little flower fields in the distance.

"We need to talk," Giovanni said as he glanced back towards Arielle as he stopped walking at the foot of the hill and sat down. "No one will be sneaking up on us here, so, lay it all out." He told her, knowing full well that they were in some deep shit. Rather it is with their families, the press, or each other. They needed to talk about what was happening and how they needed to handle things. "How do you want to handle things? The press has a picture of you crying and then kissing me. You know that our people are going to be wanting more from us." Gio laid back in the grass, his eyes closing as he waited for Arielle's suggestion on what they should do.

Arielle looked at the man with confusion in her eyes as he told her to get out of the car. Though, unlike before, he didn't do it with that rude commanding voice. So, she slid out and followed Gio out to the field. The princess was quiet as she looked around before turning back to the prince as he started to speak.

"Yes, they'll be wanting more but it's not like we have to rush into anything yet. The paparazzi will do what they always do, run with the story I gave them but make it a hundred times worse. They'll make up some grand tale about me being grabbed, causing some elaborate fight with you and the feral, saying that you saved me and after a week, people will be wondering how much of it is true and how much of it is made up." Arielle looked over at him, tilting her head slightly.

"With a story like that, everyone will just assume that I was crying because of the encounter but I kissed you because you saved me. It should make our parents happy and it's not something my people or your people are going to get in an uproar about. My people will be happy that I was protected, your people don't like feral. They might be mad about the kiss but I guarantee they'll be over it in a few days. We are engaged and it's not like I kissed you on the mouth or we were french kissing or something. At least it was better than me just crying in front of you and them making up whatever story they wanted to, right?"

Arielle moved in front of Giovanni and sat down on the grass. "If they don't see anything from us for a while, they'll just think we're trying to be safe after the attack, right? Maybe we should just stay low for a little bit." The princess gave him a bit of a shrug. She didn't understand why they needed to come out to this empty field to talk about anything of it.... Unless there was something Giovanni knew and she didn't. Though, as far as Arielle was concerned, there was no reason to rush an overly in-love couple image for themselves. Besides, Arielle didn't want to kiss Giovanni again for a while now. "Why, what do you want to do?" She was quiet for a moment before continuing. "Do you think I made a mistake? Should I not have done that?"

"You just said the magic words right their, Arielle. Our parents are going to be hearing about this." Giovanni said the words slowly, his gaze out on the field that was in front of them. "They'll know that something else must have happened if we're back at the palace and go back to teasing each other." His eyes slowly closed as he rubbed his tired eyes. "The story is just going to add fuel to the fire at home, my moms a believer in romance, and she'll stop at nothing to find out why I'm not holding your hand after saving you or whatever."
A small groan escaped from the Prince as he looked towards Arielle. "The story might blow over in a week, but at home, we'll still be in the middle of it," Gio mumbled, sounding unsure of what he should be doing or saying any more on the subject.

"You know what," Giovanni said as he slowly stood up and walked towards Arielle. "Let's fake date. We might actually be betrothed, but, with us fake dating in the public's eye. It'll keep our parents happy, and the people from wondering if I had actually upset you." Gio paused to allow for Arielle to absorb everything that he had just said.

"As you said, we need to lay low. What's better than having lovers emerge from the depths of a scary situation stronger than ever?" Gio stopped talking as he waited for Arielle to speak, wondering if she'd agree with the stupid plan. A plan that will ultimately allow for him to win the bet with Jax and keep his spot on the throne, and to keep the people happy.

(Sorry.... Had a brainfart in the middle of this....)

Silence moved over the princess as she listened to every word that Giovanni said. While she kept her face as neutral as she could, Arielle was mulling over his words. There was a lot about this plan that Arielle did like. It would get both of their parents off their back, and easily make them happy. She was sure she, and her kingdom, would get the support of the vampire royalty, and maybe their nobles as well. If people thought they were dating, then they would have no reason to suspect that Arielle was up to trouble. And, if the marriage did have to be broken off, it would probably be done so peacefully.

Though there was plenty that she hated about this. How would she be able to end it if they were fake dating? It would make ending things even harder. Fake breaking up was an option but would either family care if they did at that point? They might just force them together anyways. Plus, she would need Giovanni on board, in a way, to fake break up. Plus she would have to spend more time with Gio than she wanted, would have to be closer than she wanted.

Arielle dropped her glaze down to the vampire prince. How could she say no though? Doing so might make him think what she said earlier was a lie. She needed to think she was trying to make this work. And, unfortunately, the princess couldn't think of one good reason to say no. But, perhaps that was for the best in the long run. She could agree now and figure out the rest later. At least she would start gaining trust and good faith with all of them.

"It is a good idea..." Arielle hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I mean it could work and if it did it would probably make our lives easier, right? But do you think they'll fall for it? I mean... I guess something like being attacked and saved could push us together so that is believable but I can't stop my heart from frantically beating when I am frightened. Wouldn't your parents hear that? Or other vampires? I don't want to be afraid, and I promise I will try to push through it, but that isn't going to disappear immediately."

Arielle let out a small sigh. "If you can think a solution for that then this might actually work..." She let out a long hum in thought.

"That's just it though, we won't know until we try," Gio said as he looked up at Arielle. "We just have to find a way to get through to our parents and find ways to trick them into thinking that we really have settled our differences and are trying to get along." Raising a hand, Gio ran it through his hair before he stood up and shoved his hands into his pockets.

"The reason we'll be using for your rapid heartbeat is quite easy actually." Gio offered a small smirk. "You're smitten by me, just being close to me will get your heart to beat crazily." Gio offered Arielle a small wink to add to his light teasing. "That, and you're still getting used to vampire culture, so you won't be used to everything and still get scared from time to time. It's only normal."

With a shrug of his shoulders, Gio considered things done. They had come up with a good plan and went over some things. They shouldn't be in to much trouble when they get to the Palace. Hopefully anyways. "Did you want to talk about anything else?" He asked as he took a step to the side to start walking back up the side of the hill to his car. The sun was going to be setting soon, and he wanted to find a slave at home to feed from before he lost control and accidentally bit Arielle or something.

    (Sorry it's so short... :( )

As Gio smirked and gave his reasoning, Arielle couldn't stop the eye roll that followed. He was correct, of course. It was typically for a human's heart to go crazy when being close to someone they love. Though the teasing way he said it and the little wink at the end was a bit much for the princess. He really was a smug one.

"You're right." Arielle agreed after a moment. Even if she found his words a bit obnoxious, she wasn't going to disagree with him just for the sake of doing so. "Hopefully that would give me enough time to get used to you and everything else. Though that is something that I'll need to work on." She knew before coming here that she needed to get some control over her fear. Even then she knew it would be difficult to set a plan into motion if she didn't, but now it was more important to do so than before. She needed to convince everyone that she really had fallen head over heels in love with the prince.

The princess let out a small hum before shaking her head. "I am sure that something will pop up but I can't think of anything else right now. We'll have to find time to talk to each other in private again anyways." Arielle said as she started to follow him back to the car. She was sure that the two of them were going to run into issues with this plan, but for now, all she wanted to do was get home and lie down. It had been a much more eventful day than she had anticipated. A bit of a smirk came over Arielle's face after a thought came to her head. "At least all of your practice with being a charming woman's man will be useful." She teased, wondering if Giovanni was aware of how many articles, photos and rumors were online about his partying and social life.

Once they got to the car, a little frown came over Arielle's face before she glanced back to Gio. "We should figure out the story we are going to tell everyone about today. I am sure, by the time we get back to the castle, they'll have heard that there are rumors about me getting attacked by feral and you saving me. They are going to wonder what happened exactly, or why we didn't call them"
