Glancing away from Arielle, Gio grabbed an apple off of the fruit tray that was set in front of them and started to munch on it. Sure, he could eat some of the human food, but it really held no nitritioal properties for the vampire. He was more of a fresh blood only kind of guy. Not that he'd be able to talk about the differences between fresh and bagged blood with a human. They just wouldn't understand the difference.
Half way through Ariella and Gio eating, the other royals seemed to have joined them. Gio not really paying attention to their whole discussion, but he did manage to briefly pick up some talk about having a conference with some political leaders coming up in a few day. That in it's self was quite a surprise. As in the vampire's kingdom, most of the nobles fought when it came to humans and vampires.
"Wait, what's going on?" Giovanni asked as he glanced towards his parents. Interrupting their discussion. He ignored the slightly annoyed look on his father's face, and just listened as he started to explain things. "I've managed to get the nobles to come together Saturday. We will be talking about the success you've had with being around Lady Arielle." His father explained. "They're surprised that you're not going blood crazed when around her, as vampires do when they're around a mate. So, they want to discuss the relationship of a vampire and human to see if it's healthy for you or not."
From what he was hearing, Gio couldn't help but to scowl. "Those old bafoons wouldn't know romance if it bit them in the ass." He mumbled, which got a look from his mother. "What? It's true." Gio tried to defend himself. "They're all against your ruling, Father. How the hell would falling for a human be bad? There's no rule that says I have to be blood crazed for someone, to know that I'm healthy and willing to be with someone."
Hating that they were talking about something that was actually a private matter, Gio groaned and stood up. "I'm going to go for a walk." Gio mumbled as an excuse to leave the dining table and headed out to walk towards the garden.
