    -The next day-

It had felt weird having almost a whole day hidden away in her room. While she didn't have any major responsibilities while with the vampires, Arielle did have certain expectations of her that she was supposed to meet. Like joining them for dinner or, more specifically, being seen spending time to Gio. Though she had blown it all off yesterday to nurse her hangover and her tired body. It was nice but it was time to get back into being a proper guest. But, admittedly, she had really enjoyed taking a break from worrying about vampires. But now she was out and they were everywhere. And Arielle could tell that some of the nobles were now gaining the courage to speak to their future human queen. Unfortunate.

Once she had finished her discussion with a rather energetic vampire, Arielle slipped through the halls in the hope of not being noticed. She had already had breakfast with the Queen, who was up and about at the same time as Arielle. And now she was finding somewhere to hide from the nobles. Arielle felt uncomfortable taking to vampires as it was and adding the fact that they were nobles made it worse. She had no idea what the expectations were from the royalty here and didn't want to say the wrong thing.

Eventually, she found herself in a music room. There were plenty of instruments set up nicely and Arielle's favorite thing was that some soundproofing had been done. Of course, some of it would be heard but at least she would not be playing for the whole castle of vampires.

Taking a violin, Arielle moved to the center of the room with a stand and music and started to play. It was one of two instruments that Arielle actually had any skill in and she loved it. She decided to play something a bit relaxing, thinking to herself as she did so. At some point, she would need to go find Giovanni but she could spend her morning doing this.

[I am imagining that the King tells Gio the decision the council made that morning. So Gio knows he is expected to bite her before they meet up]

Closing the door to the Kings Private office with a little bit more force than was needed. The sound echoed through the hall. Alerting all of those passing by, that someone important wasn't happy and that they should stay out of their way. With good reason too, because it was Prince Giovanni who wasn't in the mood. His teeth were clenched tightly together, as were his fisted hands. His anger evident in the way his eyes were narrowed.

Claiming was a sacred thing in the vampire world. An the damn council had decided for Giovanni that he was to bite Arielle and claim her as his. Rather he wanted to or not. Hell, rather she wanted him to or not. No vampire has ever claimed a human as their blood mate before. They didn't freaking know what could happen to the girl. It could kill her for all they knew. It was to damn dangerous, and yet. They wanted him to do so, No scientific look into possibilities, no health warrants for the possibility of sharing one's blood with a human. No research in the least bit of the topic. They wanted them to be a true pair, and nothing more. The damn vultures. How his father allowed the old bastards to have so much control, was beyond Gio.

Closing his eyes, Giovanni breathed in deeply through his nose and then held it. Doing his best to calm his rising anger. His hands shook slightly from the temper that was threatening to unleash its self. How someone dared to control the Prince's life was preposterous. He was the heir of the Kingdom, and a council of old men that were stuck to the old ways was just so damn stupid that Gio wanted to erupt into a burst of maniacal laughter and tear each of their heads off of their shoulders. No one controlled Giovanni, he was his own man, he knew what he wanted to do and he would not bite Arielle until she was ready. If she would ever be ready.

Exhaling his breath through his mouth, Gio opened his eyes and looked ahead of himself. He stood up straight and fixed his jacket before starting to walk down the hall. Acting like nothing was wrong. Like he hadn't just heard that his and Arielle's fates were decided for them by a group of half-dead idiots. By men who should have been turned to dust many years ago.

It took everything in Gio to not break every damn vase that lines the walls as he passed them. The damn art pieces were mostly priceless, and he was sure that breaking a few would let everyone know that he was pissed. Yet, he couldn't do that. His mother would be so disappointed in him and his father would possibly rethink his right to be Heir to the kingdom. That his anger could harm their people more than help them. Bringing justice was more important to Giovanni then executing his anger on things that couldn't fight him back

Then, a beautiful melody met Gio's ears. It was faint and at first, he was sure that he had missed it, but. Then he heard the soft sound once more. He closed his eyes and listened to the extremely faint sound, letting the warm and sweet melody wash over him in waves as each string was plucked. Each note floated down the hall to him as if it was calling him, willing the Prince to relax. Telling him that all is not lost and that he should think things through rationally rather than just be all pissy over something that he had little to no control at all over.

Slowly, Giovanni's feet started to move. Following the sound as the beautiful noted hit him like light lapping of a dying wave of the sea. Like a light breeze on a spring day. When Giovanni reached the door to the music room on the second floor, he paused. The music was a little louder here, his vampire hearing telling him that this indeed was the room that held whoever was playing that breathtaking music. Raising his hand, Gio slowly opened the door. Shoulders tightening slightly as he expected to see some annoying noble intruding on the royal family's private room. So, when he laid his eyes upon Arielle, he visibly relaxed and walked into the room. Closing the door quietly behind him so that he didn't disturb her playing.

Standing still for a couple of moments, taking in the music that was now louder since he was standing in the same room as Arielle. Gio could feel himself relaxing more, his body exhausted from all of the anger and thoughts that had run rampant for the past hour that he was talking privately with the King. So, once the song was over, Gio made himself known by clapping a couple of times, annoyingly loudly to be exact. "Beautiful, just beautiful." Gio murmured, offering Arielle a fanged grin. Then, he walked towards one of the couches that were in the room and laid down on it. His head resting on an armrest, one leg bent as his foot rested on the cushion. "Please, play another song." Gio murmured to Arielle, raising his right hand and making a swishing motion for her to continue and then used his arm to cover his eyes as he waited to allow the song to take his mind away to a more relaxing place. A place where he didn't have to throw everything away to make a few old men happy.

As she heard clapping behind her, Arielle spun around quickly. Though as her eyes landed on Giovanni, she calmed down immediately, a large smile coming along her face. She appreciated his clapping, finding pleasure out of the fact that he liked her playing. "Thank you, Gio." She watched him curiously as he headed over to the couch and laid down. She could tell something was a bit off with him. The prince usually seemed so in control so she could only assume that something had happened before he found her. But she heard him ask for more music and swish his hand so Arielle didn't ask any questions. It seemed he was managing to calm down and that was probably for the best.

Turning to the sheets, Arielle flipped to another song. It was not a particularly long song but it was one that she found could easily capture one's attention. And that was what she was trying to do, pull Giovanni into her playing so he didn't have to think about whatever had gotten him stressed out in the first place. As she brought her violin back up, Arielle found herself thinking that this was all strange. That he wanting to listen to her play, to relax as she did so. And that she wanted to play for Giovanni, and actually cared about pulling him out of his bad mood.

Pushing that thought out of her head, Arielle started to play (Where do I being) Love Story. It was one that she loved and knew well. It was still lovely as a solo but she knew it was better as a duet with a piano. Unfortunately, Arielle could only play one instrument at a time.

Once the song ended, Arielle turned back to Giovanni. Without a word, she made her way over to the couch and sat down on the floor beside him, leaning back into the couch as she set the violin in her lap. Her head tilted a bit as she looked up at the prince curiously. "Feel better?" Arielle asked him gently.

The sound of Arielle playing another song like he had requested brought a small smile to Giovanni's lips. Arielle was a good girl, smart. If she would have gone against his wished then he would of more then likely snapped at her. Bared his fangs and threatened her for disobeying him. Like she was one of the servants that he was used to obeying his every command. That didn't question his motives. So, when she played, it relaxed Gio. Allowed his mind to wander ever so slightly. To let him clear his head of all the foul things that were going back and forth and were on repeat.

When the music did die this time, Gio didn't care. He knew that Arielle was going to come towards him anyways and ask what was wrong. He knew she'd nag him about it, demanding to know why he wasn't himself. How the fuck does one go about telling someone that they needed to drink each other's blood? That they weren't going to be allowed to be themselves unless the old men on the council saw some blood? What the fuck?

At the question that he's been wanting to avoid. Gio, let out a small groan, not happy in the least bit. His arm slowly lifted from his eyes as he turned to look towards the young human Princess. She was so close, so unaware of what was plaguing his mind. It would be so damn easy to-

Slowly turning to his side, Gio reached out and ran his fingers through Arielle's hair. Feeling the warmth of her scalp against his cool skin. "Yeah." He murmured, then didn't leave room for anything else as he leaned over and pressed his lips to hers. His hand moving to keep her head still as he kissed Arielle. Savoring the softness of her human lips. The way that the warmth of her human flesh felt against his coolness. Slowly, the Prince shifted on the couch, his other hand moving to grab onto her arm as he pulled her up onto the couch with him. Then laying down so that Arielle was laying on top of him. "Hmm." Gio murmured as he pulled back from the kiss and looked at the human girl who was now on top of him. His eyes roaming over her body, his hold on her arm still there, but it wasn't strong enough to leave a bruise. "Wow, I like this sight." He murmured, letting his gaze roam over her form. Appreciating what was to be his in a matter of months.

As Giovanni reached out and ran his fingers through her hair, the curiosity in Arielle's eyes only peeked. It was a strange action to receive from him but the truth was she rather liked it. It was sweet, calming and she loved the feeling of others playing with her hair. Plus she was at the point where she trusted Gio. So, Arielle leaned her head into his hand, enjoying his cool hand running along her head.

Though, without a warning, she suddenly felt Gio's cool lips against hers. Her heart immediately spiked up, beating faster from it. She didn't try to pull away but at the same time, didn't kiss back either. She was more surprised by the sudden action than anything else. And rather soon she felt herself being pulled onto the couch, the violin falling out of her lap as it happened and suddenly she was laying on top of the prince. Once Gio pulled away, Arielle's eyes were wide as she looked down at him in surprise.

Her hand moved up to her lips for a moment as she shifted so the arm he held onto was pressed against his chest held her up slightly. The rest of their bodies were touching but her head and chest were not against his. The hand that was free moved against her lips then came down and lightly hit Giovanni's chest. "What was that for?! You can't just go around kissing whomever you like." Arielle snapped at him. Though it was a light snap as the princess was still a bit dazed from what had occurred. Her heart was still beating faster and a light warm blush was beginning to come to her face. "Just what are you trying to do?"

The familiar rhythmic sound of a human's heart was so interesting to listen to. Thump, thump, thump. It never faltered, unless the human had a murmur, but even then. It had a rhythm of its own and was quite interesting to listen to. To hear the beating of the heart slow, or speed up, it was like an addicting song to Giovanni and the other vampires. It was the source of their madness before laws came into place. Before vampires learned their self-control.

"But I'm not going around just kissing anyone." Giovanni murmured coolly as he ran the tips of his fingers through her hair once more. "I'm sampling the flavors of the woman who's going to be tying the not to me in a couple of months." Gio's gaze looked from Arielle's eyes and slowly shifted down to look at those delicious looking lips of hers. His hand that was trailing through her hair, moved to trace over her lips.

"Have you ever kissed someone before?" Gio's gaze shifted to look up towards the Princess's eyes. "Any ex-boyfriends, or lovers?" His tone showed no jealousy, he had a few girlfriends and couldn't be considered a hypocrite since he's been a naughty boy on more than one occasion. "I won't be mad if you've had, Ari. It's only normal to experiment with things." His hand left her lips and went to trail lightly up and down her side. His dark eyes looking up to meet her gaze.

No appearance of emotion was displayed on his face. Only mild interest as he tried to relax with the beautiful girl that was laid on top of her. Any attempt of her trying to get off of him would result in her being held to him, so he didn't want to scare her too bad by doing so. So, he hoped that some friendly conversation would help ease her away from any sort of disconcern that he may be feeling.

Arielle let out a little huff as Giovanni mentioned 'sampling the flavors' of her. It was a bit weird to say and also made it seem that whatever his motives were of kissing her were a bit...creepy. Though she didn't think that Gio was being creepy. He was a lot of things but not that. She glanced into his eyes, trying to find the answer as to what he was trying to do. There were things Arielle already knew about him despite not actually knowing him for that long. Gio had come in stressed and he used to be a player. Maybe he was hoping she would be his 'destresser' now that he couldn't be caught with other woman. Now that wasn't going to happen as she wasn't one of his little playtoys. "What ever happened to the fake part of our agreement, hm?" She mumbled to him.

Even with that thought at the forefront of her mind, Arielle started to relax against him. Despite how weird he was being, she was comfortable with Giovanni. She enjoyed the way his hand slid through her hair. The coolness of his skin sliding along her lips. Arielle was realizing that she found the closeness pleasant, but she didn't enjoy trying to figure out what was going through that head of his. They had an understanding so Arielle didn't understand what was making him do this. And although she never said so, marrying Giovanni wasn't part of her plan. She just needed to lay low until her opportunity to get out of this forced marriage was there. She had been sure that the prince would appreciate his choice to marry who he wanted back.

As Giovanni started to ask questions about her love life, her eyes rolled and Arielle started to pull away. Though she quickly felt his grip grow tighter against her, keeping her pressed down against him. Her head quickly turned back to him, her heartbeat spiking. She didn't appreciate being stuck. But at the sight of his calm and lightly interested face, Arielle just let out another huff before completely laying against him. Her head laid down against his chest and her arms slowly slid up to his shoulders. "Next time you keep me held down somewhere, I am going to scream," Arielle warned him. But still, she continued on to rest against him. Instead of wrapping around him, she lightly held onto his shirt. It took a few moments, but Arielle started to calm back down again, mostly paying attention to how his hand trailed up and down her side.

"You are being weird today," Arielle commented to him as she closed her eyes. She knew something must have happened but Gio still wasn't giving it up. Instead he wanted to talk about her. "What is going on? Is my love life what you really want to be discussing?"

A snort of mild amusement escaped from Giovanni as he listened to Arielle. "Just because we're relaxing on the couch together doesn't change anything. If someone walks in, they'll think we're becoming close. If we were on opposite sides of the room talking like usual, people would question our compatibility." Gio mumbled quietly. "Think of this as a test run. Once you're here for another couple of weeks, people will want to see more intimate things from us."

Gio raised a hand and grabbed onto a couple of loose strands of Arielle's hair. Twirling it around his finger as he kept his calm composure. "Who says I won't like hearing you scream," Giovanni asked, offering Arielle a wink. Then, let out a small sigh. He knew that she was bound to give him a retort of some kind because of his little teasing stunt. "Chill Ari, It was a joke." He made sure that the young human knew that he was joking and really didn't want to make her scream in any way, shape or form.

When Arielle pushed for him to continue, Giovanni groaned and rolled his eyes. He should have known better than to stay in the same room as Arielle as she played music. "Just talk to me," Gio said, plain and simple, not giving anything up for Arielle to catch on to what was bothering him. "Do you have experience with those of the opposite sex?" Gio asked, rephrasing his wording, hoping to cope with her into talking about something other than him. "Come on Ari, spill. Who was your first?"

A small teasing smirk appeared on Gio's face as he stopped playing with her hair and went back to rubbing her side in a calm way. His fingers pressing into her side slightly, allowing for her to feel their exact position. Moving slightly lower with each stroke. Getting a feel for her body. The warmth that it was emitting against his cooler fingers.

Arielle let out an annoyed little hum in response to Giovanni calling them cuddling on the couch a test run. She didn't really think that was something they needed to test out. But Arielle knew that even if she dug deeper into what the prince was trying to do, he would just brush her off. There was something going on that he didn't want to tell her. But she trusted that Giovanni would tell her if it was serious. So, it seemed more likely that the prince was stressed out concerning something that wouldn't particularly affect her. "You are just lucky that I like to cuddle."

As his comment about her screaming left his lips, Arielle leaned up and looked down at Giovanni, rolling her eyes as she did so. "You just really have your mind in the gutter. Just know that I am not going to be your new little girlfriend just because you're not allowed to go date anymore," Arielle mumbled. When he said it was a joke, Arielle laid back down against Gio and rested her head against his chest. She wasn't sure if he was trying to have some fun or if Gio was just bored and thought it would be fun to tease her.

A little sigh left her lips as Giovanni kept pushing to know about her love life. Why he was curious was beyond her but Arielle knew that if she told the truth, he was likely to stop bothering her about it. Though she was quiet for a few moments, giving her attention to the way he played with her hair. She really did enjoy it and it caused Arielle to slowly press her face into his neck. "Yes, Giovanni. I have experience with the opposite sex." Arielle told him, her voice came out a little annoyed as she said it. Though, after she paused for a moment, her words turned a bit calmer. "His name was Shawn. He was my private tutor's son. Sometimes, he would come with his father to my lessons. And there were a few times that his father had other duties to attend to so we would roam around the castle together...I ended up sneaking out of the castle a few times to see him."

Slowly, Arielle's arms wrapped around his neck and she let out a content sigh as his fingers started to rub her side once again. Despite Gio being an annoying little brat today, he was extremely comfortable. "My first boyfriend, however, was the son of one of the nobles. Louis was very talented in many things, very smart too. But it turned out that he didn't have a very good heart. I was just blinded by his looks and how talented he was at first to notice." Slowly, Arielle started to run her fingers through his hair. "Are you happy now, Giovanni?"

As Arielle finally gave in and started to just talk to him, a small smile started to play along Giovanni's lips. Her soft voice was relaxing to the young Prince and he liked that if he pushed enough of her buttons she would just cave and do as he had asked. Just like a little puppy, if you work with them enough, then you can get the outcome that you want out of them. So, as award so that she knew that he was listening to her still, Gio offered a small hum and a nod of his head as she spoke.

The feel of Arielle's own fingers running through his hair caused the Prince to stiffen slightly. He wasn't expecting her to do that. No one's done that in a long time, but, after a couple of moments, Gio relaxed and accepted the touch. The feeling of her fingers reminding him of when he was a child and his mother was comforting him after having a bad dream. "Hmm, sure. Let's go with that." Giovanni murmured as he closed his eyes and turned his head to the side slightly so that he could look down at the girl resting on his chest.

It was so weird feeling a warm-blooded human's heart beating against his chest. It was rare to drink from a human and have this close intimate sort of contact. Usually, when a vampire was to feed on a human, they would drink from the wrist. Or, they would do so from behind the human. One way, they didn't have to see the human's face and the other was because the human found it interesting to watch how the vampire's eye darken as they drank their blood.

A couple of moments later, Gio slowly stopped running his hands up and down Arielle's sides. His gaze focused on the young girl. "Arielle, look at me," Gio said quietly, then waited for her to listen to him. Ignoring any sort of question that could leave her lips until she obeyed him. Then, he'd lean forward slightly and press his lips against hers softly. His hands-on her sides holding her in place so that she didn't just jump off of him because of the kiss.

Arielle shook her head a bit at Giovanni. "If you're not happy then what are you? You are prying right now but you're not saying why. I didn't think you to be overly nosy." She let out a little 'tsk tsk' in response to him. "As a prince, you should know better than to stick your nose into my business." She had no clue what was going on with the prince but was deciding to not let it get to her. He was just being weird for whatever reason and Arielle thought it was best to try and not read anything into it. Though it was difficult as she felt like he was just playing with her which she didn't particularly like.

Even so, Arielle nuzzled her face into his cool skin. There was something about this that she liked though. To be able to be close and enjoy someone's company was satisfying. Being able to be held and to hold as well. She liked the way that Giovanni was holding her. Arielle liked how cooling and relaxing his temperature was. And running her hands through his hair was also soothing. Though she wasn't sure she cared for the rest of it. How Giovanni had kissed her out of nowhere or was pulling to get information out of her.

She let out a small hum in response to Gio's request. Arielle was just hoping that he would continue on with whatever he waited to say without her actually having to turn her head. Though when a few moments passed and it was clear that was not going to happen, Arielle's head turned slowly so she was looking up at the princes. She was hoping that whatever was about to pass his lips would be about whatever had Gio in such a mood. Arielle knew there was something going on.

Though instead of words, she felt his lips being pressed against hers once again. But unlike last time, Arielle wasn't as shocked by it. She was quick to pull her lips away from his. Her heart was beating quickly again as she tried to pull away from Giovanni but once again, he was holding her tight. One hand pressed against his chest, trying to push herself off of him while the other lifted up, threatening to slap the prince across the face. "Let me go," Arielle snapped at him.

It was like the flick of a light switch. One moment Gio was holding onto Arielle softly and pressing a soft kiss to her lips. The next, when she rejected his kiss, he was standing up with his back to the young Princess and fixing his jacket. Of course, he was a gentleman, so in his swift movement, he made sure to have the woman flipped to lay on the couch instead of forcing her to stand. As if he was to make her stand, she was bound to fall over because of the quick speed he rarely used.

Once Giovanni was sure that his suit was straightened. He raised his hands to his hair to smooth it down in case any strands came out of place from Arielle playing with it. Then, he just picked off a few pieces of lint and then headed towards the door. Not a single word escaping from Giovanni. He knew when rejection was a rejection and he didn't need to speak to Arielle about it. They agreed on faking everything and he had been ordered to have a blood bond with her. Speaking about something as stupid as feelings weren't really Gio's cup of tea. Especially right now. He needed distractions, and if Arielle wasn't in the mood to be one, then so be it.

Casting a small glance over his shoulder towards the Princess, Giovanni headed towards the door and left. If she wanted to follow him out of the music room, then he'd try and woo her some more. If she didn't, then he would just take it as it was. She didn't want him. She may have opened up to him, but he wasn't going to force more on her then what was already being done between them.

The soft echoes of Giovanni's shoes were the only thing to be heard. It was almost lunchtime and most of the servants were either cooking or were on their hour breaks. Leaving the halls clear for the vampire to roam the halls and be alone with his annoying thoughts.

It took the princess a few moments to realized what had happened. After all, she wasn't quite used to people just being able to zoom around. And it really threw her off to be in one position and then suddenly in another. But when she realized what was going on, her blood was beginning to boil. Her head lifted up to see that the prince was just walking out of the room without a word. Just a little glance at her direction as he left.

What a coward. Arielle scrambled onto her feet, the thought of chasing him down and screaming at him running through her mind. But she wasn't so angry to think that was a good idea. She hated what he had done though. Gio just came in to play with her like she was some little toy. Something to just distract him from whatever the fuck was going on. And when he didn't get the reaction he wanted, he just ran away like a man child.

Why did he think that was okay? She wasn't a toy! Why the fuck did he do that? Did the prince just think it was fun to kiss her like that?! To try and turn her into his own personal distraction? Arielle brought a hand up to her lips before she let out a frustrated growl. "I hate this place," Arielle snapped under her breath. There was nothing good about this whole goddamn kingdom. Vampires ran rampage and did whatever they wanted to whomever they wanted and their prince was the worst of them all.

In anger, Arielle stomped onto the violin, breaking it into pieces before she turned and headed out of the room. She was quick to head to her room, locking the door behind her. Unlike Prince Asshole, she couldn't stomp around the palace doing whatever the fuck she wanted. It was important for her to get her emotions into check when here.

Idiot, how could he have been so damn stupid? Gio scowled slightly as he walked. The empty halls only enhancing that feeling. God, what could Arielle possibly be thinking of him now? Kissing her and then running away like she meant nothing, and while she honestly did mean nothing to him, he still felt something for her. It was weird. Why the fuck did her opinion of things matter to him? She was just some little human. She wasn't one of his kind, she was food, a blood bag, a warming pad for then he wanted something warm to slip into instead of the usually cool feeling vampire female.

A small growl escaped from Gio as he shook his head. "Fuck it." He mumbled to himself as he walked down the hall. No idea where he was really going. He was just walking. "Fuck it all," Gio mumbled once more. His right hand twitched to reach out and break one of the many vases that were all along the hall, but he held back. He didn't need his mother's wrath on him as well as Arielle's. None of this was either of their faults.

This is all so fucked up. The ritual, the arrangement, the two species uniting. It wasn't right. It wasn't right in the least bit so why? Why was all of this fucking going down? Glancing up, Gio scowled as he realized that he was standing in front of Arielle's door, and without even thinking, he started to knock. Repeatedly, until she opened the door. Then, without waiting for her door to be fully opened. Giovanni pushed the door to the side and walked into the room. Closing the door behind himself as he walked to the middle of the room and ran a hand through his hair as he turned around to look at the Princess.

"They want me to bite you." Giovanni blurted out, cutting whatever it was the Princess was saying to him. "They want us to blood bond, so they want you to drink my blood as well." The Prince stood stock still as he looked towards Arielle, his hands still in his hair as he waited for her reaction to this news.

At first, when Arielle heard knocking at the door, she ignored it. She didn't care who it was and was rather sure that they would go away when she didn't answer. Though, despite what she thought should happen, the knocking continued and continued. Arielle brought her hands up to her ears, trying to ignore the annoyance but it seemed that it just was not going away. So she threw her blanket off of herself before going to the door and throwing it open. "Go away!" Arielle snapped out before even seeing who it was. It didn't matter who it was, they were annoying as hell.

Though soon the door was being pushed open by whoever was on the other side. When she saw it was Giovanni, Arielle was quick to put her hands onto his chest and try to push him out. "I don't want to talk to you, asshole!" Arielle growled but once he continued in despite her best efforts and closed the door behind him, Arielle dropped her hands from her chest and made some distance between the two of them. Despite it all, Arielle couldn't keep a goddamn vampire out of her room. Another example that they were way too strong and stubborn for their own good. Another example of how Giovanni just did whatever he wanted.

"Why do you think you can just do whatever you want? Do you have no regard for anyone else's feelings?" Arielle was now yelling at him. This was so frustrating. "You can't just -" Before she was able to continue her sentence, Giovanni blurted out over her and immediately Arielle froze. Her heart, her whole body seemed to freeze and the princess processed what he had said. What terrible words to come out of that mouth.

It took a moment but Arielle snapped out of it and looked straight at Giovanni. "No." She said strictly before taking another step away from him. "I am not doing that. I told you that I am never going to be okay with that. You told me that you wouldn't do anything to hurt me. Don't you remember? You said that." Arielle took another step back and ended up bumping into the table behind her. Pure fear was running through you. Her hand grabbed onto the butter knife that was on the table, holding it tightly. "If you try to bite me, I will stab you, Gio. I am serious, stay away from me."

"Are you even freaking thinking before you speak?" Giovanni asked as he arched an eyebrow at Arielle. A scowl appearing on his face. "I don't want to fucking bite you, you idiot! That's why I'm freaking stressing about it!" This was the first time he actually insulted her, although it wasn't an extremely terrible insult, it still felt really bad to call her an idiot.

"You need to listen to me, Arielle." Giovanni lowered his arms, but he didn't make a move towards the Princess. Instead, he crossed his arms and started to pace the room. "I want to get out of this as much as you do." He licked his lips nervously. "The elders talked my father into forcing us to do this, maybe we can talk my mother into not allowing it. My father tends to favor my mother's opinion over the elders-" Gio stopped and shook his head. It was already decided, if it was a topic that was up for debate then they had a chance of that working.

A groan escaped from Gio as he turned to face Arielle. A snort escaping from him at the sight that laid before his eyes. "Do you think that dinky little thing could actually hurt me?" He asked, then let out a small chuckle. His head shaking back and forth in amusement. "You'll need something sharper, and wooden to even lay a scratch on me," Gio informed her.

"Although, if you stab me. That'll get you out of the biting, it'll also get us our of this arrangement. Although you'd be sent to jail or used as a donor for the rest of your life, we'd be out of our marriage."

At hearing Giovanni's words, Arielle closed her eyes for a moment and took a breath. She hesitated for a moment before setting the knife back down onto the table. He was right, of course. A butter knife wasn't going hurt Giovanni but what she had wanted was for him to keep his distance from her. Which it seemed that he was doing anyways. "Just stay away from me then," Arielle told him, her voice quieter now but still just as angry.

She moved back again so that there was a table in between herself and Giovanni. Arielle knew it wouldn't make much of a difference if Giovanni decided to do something. He was much too fast. Though at least she knew where her wooden stake was if he decided to do something. Arielle didn't think she would be fast enough to stop him but since the item was on her, she would at least be able to stab him before it ended. Arielle knew what would happen if she did but she had no problem with stabbing a vampire that was attacking her and then running away in the hopes of getting home. It seemed Giovanni didn't know this, but the vampires couldn't afford to piss of the humans by locking her away anyways.

"So this is why you have been acting like a fucking asshole then?" Arielle asked a bit roughly before running a hand through her hair. "Fair enough," She mumbled under her breath. Of course, she still did not like it but at least there was a reason behind his actions today. Arielle was still mad but she needed to focus on this more than that. She closed her eyes and rubbed the side of her temples. What could she do? "I can't run away they would just drag me back here." She whispered to herself. Arielle didn't know a lot about the courts, the nobles or the laws here to figure out a way around this.

"Lets just tell them that we want more time. Like until we are married or something!" Arielle said as she looked over at him. She had no idea if that would work. "Or we can just fake it, can't we? It's not like they are actually going to check, right? We'll just stab my wrist and call it a day." Arielle took in a deep breath, trying to stop herself from panicking too much but the truth was she felt like she was going to be sick. "Or we just don't do it. What are they going to do? They can't force you to bite me. They sure as hell can't force me to drink blood. Over my dead body am I drinking blood, Gio. Humans can't do that!"

Removing his hands from his hair, Giovanni moved over towards the bed that was on the side of the room that he was on and sat. His hand moving to cover his face as he leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees. A simple "Yeah." Escaped from him when Arielle asked if it was why he was acting like an asshole today. It was, and he was not fucking happy about it either. He knew that it was wrong to do, but he couldn't fucking help it. He was pissed and he couldn't find a good fucking way to bring it up. So, he tried to get her to relax with him and then do the deed, but he couldn't. So, he panicked and acted like an asshole. Plain and simple.

It was stupid of him to act as he did, Gio knew. Yet, he did so anyway and now Arielle is pissed beyond belief and he was stressed beyond belief and this whole thing was turning to shit. They didn't even want to freak marry each other. They just freaking agreed to pretend to like each other a couple of days ago for crying out loud. Now, the stupid council decided that it was a good idea for them to share a blood bond? Those old men were fucked up in the head. They needed to go, they needed to be changed out with people who were more in with the times. His dad needed to not let them handle his balls so fucking easily.

A long exhausted sigh escaped from Giovanni as he listened to Arielle. She was talking like this was the most simple thing in the world. "It doesn't quite work like that, Ari." Gio murmured as he lowered his hands and turned his gaze towards her. "The council makes decisions together and vote on things. If they all agree with it overrules the King. If it's not, the king can make any sort of changes that he wants. This was a unanimous win for the council. All seven of them want the bond before we're set to marry." He explained to Arielle.

"Plus the blood bond isn't that easy to mimic. It's a bond of the pair, emotionally. It connects the pair more genuinely then just loving someone. It allows the pair to feel the other's emotions, it's a permanent thing, unlike the human's version of love." Giovanni explained, looking tired as he waited for the girl to blow up once more. "I sent in a petition for the bonding to be done on the night of our supposed wedding, but who knows if the council will even pay any mind to that or not." It wasn't going to be accepted, Gio knew this, but, anything to cause Arielle to relax a little bit. Gio would do or say.

"I'm sorry you had to hear about this, Ari. I know it's not what you want. Hell, it's not what I want." Gio ran a hand through his hair once more. "Maybe we should ask for the whole wedding thing to be canceled, but then that'll interfere with our alliance." This was turning into a tough situation. A complicated political one.

"So. What." Arielle snapped. "So what if they made a decision. So what if it was unanimous! They can make all the decisions they want for you and your country that way but Gio, I am not part of that. I may be here but I am not their princess. I am not someone for them to control. Hell, I am not even a vampire. I am a princess for a different goddamn Kingdom and those seven don't get to make choices for me until we are married."

Arielle lifted her left hand up. "There is not even an engagement ring on this hand! So I don't know who inflated their egos but they are NOT IN CHARGE OF ME." The princess dropped her hand down. "And even if we were married, they are still dealing with a princess, an heir of a different kingdom. If they think they can just push me around and make decisions for them than they have another thing coming. You want to know what this is. Disrespectful. They haven't even bothered to hear me out on this matter and the last time I checked, they haven't reached out to my kingdom regarding the issue of us being blood bond. What makes them think that they can make decisions for me? They may be in charge of you, but not me."

The young woman brought her hands down hard on the table out of frustration. Though it was an instant later that Arielle was pulling out her cell phone. "Let's just see how fast they'll jump back when my kingdom gets involved in this matter." She mumbled angrily to herself. "We might not be able to stop them from expecting it later on but if I am able to keep getting this pushed back, again and again, they'll give up. Hell, maybe I might make it so I don't have to become you're precious little blood bag until I am on my death bed."

Arielle looked back up at Giovanni for a moment before she pressed the call button. "Over my dead body that this is going to happen. You fucking tell them that if they force this, I will gladly kill myself before you get your fucking teeth into me. Let's see how they would like having a dead princess on their hands, those fucking assholes. And Gio, we can get this whole wedding canceled but we need to be smarter than that. There is a way to avoid all of this, I know it, but we can't be stupid and risk our countries wellbeing. I will threaten to kill myself if I have to in order to get out of this, I swear to god I will go as far as I need to."
