Maisie nodded her head softly understanding what he was telling her, she had to earn his trust back. She didn't exactly know how to do that, but hopefully, she could soon enough. She did let her eyes close for a brief moment as she felt Steve hold her close to him while he turned them around and helped her wash her hair. But she knew that this wasn't going to last because he was still upset with her so she didn't reach out to touch him and rub his muscles or present for him to show him that she loved him or knew that she belonged to him and no one else. She simply let him rub her head while she listened to what he'd told her and washed her body off so she would feel at least a little refreshed for their car ride to who knew where.

She knew there was no way they were going back to Stark Tower yet, Steve wouldn't want her to be anywhere near anyone else right now. He wanted her all to himself so they had to be going somewhere secluded, but this was also Steve so it had to be somewhere luxurious. Either way, it didn't matter, Maisie was going wherever Steve decided to take her and there wasn't anything she could do to get away from it. Running wasn't an option for her, and she was sure if Steve had his way then by the end of this punishment she'd be too broken to even want to run anyway.

Maisie wasn't sure if she was happy to get a chance to rest or not though. Part of her was glad to rest regardless of where it was because her body was sore, it ached in ways she didn't know she could ache, and resting meant there would be time for settling. Maybe Steve's anger would mull over even just a little and he wouldn't be as awful the next go around. Though maybe it would be worse. Part of her also wished that she could just get it all over with now. She wanted him to just let his anger out and be done with it. She wanted to move on. Maisie wanted to show Steve that she was a good girl, there was no reason to be angry at her anymore because she'd learned her lesson and she wouldn't ever leave him again. She just wanted to please him but deep in her heart, she was doubtful that that was how things were going to play out at all.
Bucky stood up and offered his hand to help her up rather than just jerking her up as he could have. "Smart choice," he told her before he pulled her close and held her neck in place so he could press his lips against her in a hunger. Adelaine had no idea what she did to him, or how hard it was for him to actually control himself when he was around her. "I don't have to hurt your friend Darlin'. And I think you've learned your lesson there, but let's make sure to keep the ties with her cut," he said against her lips as he continued to hold her in place for a moment longer. "But if you ever let someone tell you that you can just take back your submission again there will be hell to pay," he added keeping their faces very close together. "This is your only chance to get back in my good graces if you leave me again I'll replace you. I will find another obedient little omega who doesn't have stupid ideas to run away," he told her before he tilted her head and moved her hair out of the way so he could bite down on her bonding gland.

"Now let's go get cleaned up, we have a long ride ahead of us," he told her pressing himself against her and running his hands over her body once more so he could feel every inch of her soft skin under her fingers. He even gave her ass a squeeze in both his hands smirking to himself as he watched her react. Adelaine wasn't going anywhere ever again, he'd make sure of it. Even if that meant putting so much fear in her that she had nightmares about what would happen. This was how it should be. Omega that had been claimed and bonded with should be afraid to leave their alpha's. They shouldn't just run and take their submission back.

He wondered if Adealine even realized what could've happened if he hadn't found her when he had if he hadn't swooped in like he had to take her back. Because suppressants or not if someone else out there had decided that they wanted her that his little omega was up for grabs because she didn't have a bonding mark anymore then Bucky wouldn't be able to do anything. He wouldn't be able to save her or protect her, she would be forced to live a life without him and did she really want that? There was no way that his little omega could want that, not really. She'd just been stupid and had a moment of weakness.

Steve’s body ached the longer that they stood in the shower. He wanted to believe Maisie was telling the truth but he wasn’t going to be fooled a second time. He had never imagined that she would run away from him. If she was willing to do that, what else was she going to be willing to do? He wasn’t so sure that he wanted to find out. The thought enough was enough to reignite his anger, his grip tightening on Maisie’s hips as she washed herself off. He exhaled slowly, looking down to her with a frown growing on his features. “Why’d you run?” His voice was soft despite his growing anger, showing off just how hurt he’d been when he discovered that his omega had chosen to leave.

He gave a shake before Maisie could formulate a response, Steve’s back straightened as he moved to step out of the shower. “We leave in half an hour. Whatever you want to bring with you, you need to get packed. Anything else is getting left, I don’t care what it is. Understand?” He asked, glancing back to her as he dried himself off with a towel he’d pulled off of the rack by the shower.

Steve was getting antsy now that they were in Maisie’s apartment without a reason. He didn’t want to be here. He’d found her, he had claimed her, there was no purpose for him being here anymore. Clearing his throat as he stepped out of the bathroom, Steve was quick to pull his clothes back on. He made his way around the apartment, deciding that while Maisie finished getting herself prepared, that he would do a bit of looking around. He didn’t know if he was going to find anything but Steve thought it was worth looking. If Maisie had anything else to hide, he was going to find it before they left.
Adelaine’s panic seemed to calm a bit when Bucky told her he wasn’t going to hurt her friend. Even if she hadn’t talked to the omega in nearly two years, Adelaine still didn’t want any harm coming to her because of Adelaine. It would have made her feel utterly horrible. The thought still left an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach but she was doing her best to ignore it. She swallowed at Bucky’s promise to replace her if she ever ran again. It almost felt like a trap. If she had run a first time because she had been afraid, did Bucky think she would be stupid enough to try it again? Would he actually find another omega or would he find her and make her regret the very moment that she had been born? She wasn’t about to ever find out, the threat of the latter enough to keep her in line.

She turned the shower on, hotter than she would have preferred because she knew that Bucky preferred his showers hot. Adelaine would be fine with the temperature so long as it kept Bucky happy because that’s all that really mattered at the moment. She had hurt and disappointed him in ways that she should have never even dreamed of. If that meant she had to suffer through a hotter than preferred shower and Bucky’s anger outbursts, Adelaine would. She’d do anything to make it up to him.

Silence stretched between them and the longer it went on, the more uncomfortable Adelaine grew. Silence from Bucky usually unnerved her because he was thinking too much then - usually about something she’d done wrong. She swallowed, looking up to Bucky with a slight frown on her lips. She was going to try to be brave, show that she could listen and be obedient while still having her own thoughts. “Alpha,” Adelaine started, her voice soft as she ran her fingers through Bucky’s hair, happily massaging her shampoo into his scalp. It was the only one in the apartment. “Are we going back to the tower now?” She asked, chewing on the inside of her lip. “Or... are we going somewhere else?”

Maisie winced slightly when she felt Steve's grip tighten on her already sore and bruised hips. "I was scared," she said softly. "That last night we had together you were just so angry at me, I'd never seen you so upset with me. And then after we had sex and you left for your mission, Karen came to pick me up for her party and she saw that my wrists were all bruised up and she told me that she was worried about me and thought I should leave. But I didn't want to. I told her that it was just a misunderstanding and that you loved me and would never hurt me. She didn't believe me and went on about how her alpha could help me. Then she went on about how I could take back my submission if I wanted to and how either way she was getting me away from you and she did. Because I swear when I woke up the following morning we were in a car and I had no idea where we were. And they'd set up this whole new life for me. I wanted to go back to you really. But I wasn't sure how long I'd been gone or where I was, or even how to get back to you. And no one believed that I'd been kidnapped? Or even that I was telling them the truth when I said my alpha was Steve Rogers? You're world-renowned, and they all thought I was crazy. Then I was afraid that you were going to come looking for me and be furious. And even though I've lived in fear of this exact moment for a year now, I didn't want. I was stupid and didn't just let my omega instincts take me home to you," She said as calmly as she could before she let a few tears fall from her eyes.

This wasn't what she'd wanted. Maisie from the moment she'd met Steve had wanted nothing more than to make him happy. The night he'd claimed her as his own had been the best night of her life. Sure things had changed between them after that night, Steve had become more aggressive with her, he wasn't the same sweet man she'd fallen in love with, but Maisie had never thought that was because of her or because it's who he was. She'd always told herself that he had a very stressful job, one that simply took a lot out of him and so, of course, he was going to be upset when he'd been off on some mission to save the world only to find she'd done something he hadn't liked. But she chalked it up to him being worried about her, or even not wanting to properly deal with things that had happened. Either way, Maisie loved Steve and even after all of this she still loved him and would never leave him again. She also knew that if anyone tried to tear them apart again that she would just run back to him no matter what.

Maisie nodded her head in understanding at his next comment then finished cleaning herself off before she also stepped out of the shower and went to dry herself off before heading into her room to put on fresh clothes and pack a bag. She hadn't really moved with a lot of things, nothing actually. Maisie literally hadn't had anything when she moved in actually, just what was already there or things she'd acquired over the last year. So it didn't even take her very long to gather the things that she'd want to take with her perfectly fine to leave everything else behind. "I swear on my life that I haven't talked to her or her boyfriend since they left me here," she said softly as she pulled the bag over her shoulder. "I was so upset I didn't even want to look at them,"
Bucky let her wash his hair liking the way her fingers felt massaging his scalp almost as much as he liked the overly warm water pouring from the shower head, though he didn't like her shower. It was cramped and the pressure sucked. Of course, she was living in a shitty hole in the wall so he shouldn't have expected anything different. "We're not going back to the tower yet," he told her calmly not planning to tell her where they were going until they were here. He didn't want her knowing more of his plan than she needed to know, and that wasn't something she needed to know yet. "All you need to know is that we have a long ride ahead of us," he told her before he pulled away so he could wash himself off then switch positions with her so she could also wash off. "And that where we're going will be much nicer than this shit hole," he said sighing and shaking his head.

One thing that he couldn't seem to figure out was why his omega would choose this? He didn't understand why she would not only let someone convince her to take back her submission and then run from him but choose this as the way she wanted to live. He had given her everything she could possibly need. More than she could ever need really. Bucky had provided so well for her that she never went without anything. He just couldn't figure out why she would want to live like this at all? Why give up a life of luxury with the person you love for some crappy apartment with awful water pressure? Why give up never having to work to take care of yourself because you're taken care of to busting tables as a waitress? Bucky just didn't understand.

Once he'd let himself calm down enough to think semi-rationally he stepped out of the shower. "Playtime is over for now. I want to be on the road before the sun comes up so get dressed and pack your bags because we're leaving," he said as he dried himself off then stepped out of the bathroom to get redressed. And he figured while she packed her bags he'd have a look around her bathroom and whatnot and make sure she wasn't hiding anything, he also figured that he would go ahead and throw all of her suppressants down the drain so that he knew for a fact they weren't going with them. He didn't want them around her anymore. Not only because they kept her heat from coming but there were also so many side effects of taking them for too long and he didn't want to run into any potential risks, she would also be less tempted by them once they were all gone.

Steve's eyes narrowed as he felt an all too familiar swell of anger as it washed over him. Just knowing that someone else had put the thought of leaving into Maisie's mind seemed to make him impossibly angrier. All because she had let someone else influence her when the only one doing so should have been him. He scoffed at the thought, shaking his head at Maisie's answer. Already, a plan was hatching to dispose of Karen and the worthless omega's alpha. No one would bat an eye if he did it because eh was Captain America, after all. Even if what Maisie had said was true and she hadn't spoken to them since the night they had taken her away from him... he didn't care. If they thought they were going to get away with taking his omega away from him, they were sorely mistaken. They would regret what they had done, before Steve was done with him.

Moving throughout Maisie's small apartment, Steve had concluded that she told the truth about her suppressants. She didn't have any more. It was good to know that his omega had told the truth about that, at least. Steve was hardly paying attention to Maisie; only listening enough to know that she wasn't trying to do anything foolish. His face scrunched as he passed by the coat closest by her front door. Steve pulled the door open, tilting his head to the side as he eyed the things that hung inside. Nothing really stood out to him, he couldn't shake that there was something odd inside.

Steve reached out, starting to run his fingers over each coat inside. It wasn't until he got to the second to last coat that Steve stilled, his eyes narrowing. He ripped the coat from the hanger, lifting it to his nose. The scent was so faint that he barely could detect it but it was there. Another alpha's scent. Another. Alpha's. Scent. A growl rumbled deep in his chest as he turned, a predatory glare fixed on his features. He took slow, calculated steps toward Maisie. "Omega," the title was spat out, his teeth ground together as he held up the article of clothing. "Care to tell me what this is doing in your closet?"
"Yes, alpha," Adelaine spoke quietly, nodding her head. If Bucky thought she didn't need to know something, she understand that she didn't have to.... whether she liked it or not. She hated being clueless about what was going on but she knew it would be easier for her to listen. It kept Bucky happy and if Bucky was happy with her, it was for the best. Chewing on the inside of her lip as she climbed out of the shower, Adelaine dried herself off. She paused by the door of the bathroom, glancing back to Bucky with a small frown. "Is it okay if I wear something comfortable?" She asked quietly, not wanting to dress inappropriately and risk upsetting Bucky. When he answered, Adelaine gave a tiny smile before she turned, heading to get dressed. She pulled on a shirt and a pair of black yoga pants. If they had to go in somewhere, Adelaine would at least look a bit more presentable than if she was just wearing pyjamas.

Adelaine didn't have that much to pack. She had left with a single bag of clothes and nothing else because she'd been afraid of taking too much and alerting the others in the Tower. Shoving her newer clothes (ones she had managed to buy for herself) into a bag after deciding what Bucky would deem appropriate, Adelaine straightened up. She turned toward Bucky, a smile on her features. The happiness she had been allowing herself to feel disappeared the moment that she saw the coat in his hands. Adelaine didn't need to ask what was wrong to know... she knew Bucky too damn well.

"I-I.. alpha," Adelaine stuttered, swallowing the lump that formed in her throat. She looked down, bracing herself for the anger that she was sure Bucky was about to show. She knew all too well that he was going to hurt her. There was no lying to get out of it... she knew that. Her stomach flipped as she took a shaky breathe, flinching as Bucky started yelling - demanding answered about what the coat was.

"One of the managers at my restaurant..." Adelaine trailed off, a shudder running through her. Please. I'm sorry. "He's an alpha. I had a really bad spell and... he gave it to me. To help calm me down because he knows I don-" Adelaine's words were cut off as she realized what she had been about to say. She didn't have an alpha. She'd always had an alpha. Always. Adelaine gulped, not brave enough to even look up from the floor in front of her. "That you weren't around," she corrected herself in a small voice. "He has an omega.. it wasn't meant to court me or anything, alpha. It was just... a friendly gesture," she said, wincing at her words. She didn't need to look at Bucky to know he was angry. She could feel the shift in the room.

Maisie hadn’t let herself believe that things with Steve were going to get better, and she knew that the brief moment of softness they had experienced in the shower was fleeting. But she hadn’t really thought things could get worse either. She’d told Steve the entire truth about the situation, she’d given up Karen and her boyfriend knowing that Steve would not be happy about it, she hadn’t lied about the suppressants or anything else and she had absolutely no intentions of lying to him about anything. Steve was her alpha, she wanted his forgiveness more than anything else in the world, but she wasn’t sure she would ever get that back. Especially after he held up the jacket in front of her that still slightly smelled of another alpha and demanded an answer.

“It isn’t what you think,” she said shaking her head, “Alpha I swear. Karen’s boyfriend left it here after they left me here. I hadn’t even realized it’d been left until they were long gone. And I only wore it once when I’d had to spend a night without heat during the winter. And even though it doesn’t smell like you at all it kept me warm,” she said not wanting him to think that she’d gotten any kind of comfort or happiness from a jacket that didn’t belong to her or Steve.

Maisie didn’t even want to say she was sorry about the situation because she felt like that was only making this worse. All she had done since Steve had shown himself to her she felt lilt was apologize for everything over the last year. And while she was truly sorry she was sure Steve was tired of hearing her say those three little words because they clearly meant nothing. If she was really sorry they wouldn’t have happened, at least that’s the vibe she still got from him. “What can I do to prove that this will never happen again? And to earn your forgiveness?” She asked bravely hoping that there was something she could to to be in her alpha’s good graces again, and actions spoke louder than words. Though she supposed that could be said about this entire situation, her actions totally said something that seemed off from her words so, of course, Steve was having a hard time trusting her right now. Maybe all he needed was some time, which they’d get in the car ride. Hopefully.
Bucky’s eyes turned to slits as he listened to her explain herself. “That you don’t what, have an alpha?” He snarled. That was crossing a line. Letting another alpha know that she didn’t have Bucky drew a line for him. And he didn’t exactly know how to control his anger at the moment. Before he could gather his thoughts properly, and not giving a rats ass if this guy had an omega or not Bucky was seething and to show just how pissed off he was he ended up grabbing her around the neck and pulling her really close. He had probably bruised her trachea he held her so tight but he didn’t care about that either. Maybe if it was bruised he wouldn’t have to listen to her voice which was starting to piss him right off.

“How stupid are you?” He said shaking his head at her. “First you let someone else influence your mind who isn’t me, then you run. You starting taking suppressants and working some dead end job where you can barely support yourself. Then you let your bonding mark leave however you did that I don’t know but you did so then other alpha’s think you don’t have an alpha when you do. A very worried one. Now did I miss anything?” He asked wanting to make sure he has an appropriate list of things she’d done that warranted his current anger.

He finally let her throat go and stepped away from her. “Go get in the car. We’re leaving, and don’t say anything because I don’t even want to hear it. Your voice is pissing me off,” he told her before he pulled out his phone, there were a couple of phone calls he needed to make. If Adealine thought even for a second that she could get away with all of this she was so severely mistaken and she was in for a very rude awakening. Once they made it to the rather remote cabin he had prepared for them she was going to find out just how much her actions were going to make her suffer.

Once he made it into the car he threw her bags in the trunk then got in himself not even looking at her because he might’ve actually just ended her he was so angry.

[ I hope this was good, I wanted to get something out before I left for work. And I’m on my phone lol. ]

    {I meant to reply earlier but we ended up going to the plant nursery and picking out a couple to make our own arrangements and then I had class Grr }

If Steve had been on the fence about getting rid of Karen and her alpha before, after learning that the coat that she had in her closet belonged to him... Steve was pushed right off the edge. If she thought there was any well in hell that Steve was going to give them a pass, she was out of her mind. Even if she had contacted him after they took her away from him, Steve would have been far more lenient than he was feeling at the moment. If he was being honest, he wanted to just completely tear Karen and her precious boyfriend apart.

There was not a single damn thing that anyone would say to him. An omega taken from their alpha, fault or no fault of the omega's, no one would judge Steve for lashing out. Maisie was meant to be his mate, to carry his pups, and for someone to take that from him was awful. It was just something that wasn't ever done - an alpha could choose how they treated their omega. An omega was viewed as property, when it came right down to it. It wasn't ever spoken about because some viewed it was barbaric but there was nothing that was going to change. No one would ever take his omega from him again. Steve would tear them in two if they tried. Whoever it was.

"I want for," Steve spoke, his voice coming out in an angry growl. He wasn't even bothering to try and hide just how angry he was. He knew that he was likely scaring Maisie but at the moment, he couldn't find it in himself to care. After what Maisie had done to him, she deserved to be afraid of him. Deserved to feel the pain that he had felt for so long. "You to be fucking quiet," Steve growled, slamming his hand against the steering whell. "Which seems to be fucking impossible for you!" Steve spat, glaring at her as he turned in her direction. He fixed her with a heavy stare before he turned back to the road. "Just sit there. Don't say a damn thing because I don't care. You're going to say the same things you always do. You're going to try and tell me you're sorry but if you were sorry, you had an entire fuckin' year to get rid of that jacket. And you still kept it. I don't want to hear any more of your excuses, Maisie!" He all but roared, his shoulders pulled tight.
Adelaine let out a whimper when Bucky snapped at her, taking a baby step backward. It was as clear as day that Bucky was angry with her all over again. It made her want to disappear because she had never meant to upset him with her explanation but she clearly had. And in part because she was terrified of just how angry he seemed. It was that sort of anger that had led her to flee from Bucky. He looked like he wanted nothing more than to break her. Her heart was racing as Bucky closed the distance between them before wrapping his hand around her throat. She gasped as he lifted her slightly, tears welling in her eyes as she reached up to set her hands on his wrist.

"B-Bu-" she had tried to speak, to say his name but then his grip tightened on her throat. Adelaine whimpered, realizing that he truly didn't want her to say anything. Her eyes were blown wide with fear, gasping for air as she tried to pull away from him. She couldn't breathe but she would dare try to push him away or anything of the sort. "N-No," she managed to croak as Bucky demanded an answer from her. When he let go of her, Adelaine's legs couldn't support her. Her knees wobbled before she hit the ground, wincing at the pain that shot up her body. She sat there, gasping for breathe as she tried to make herself as small as possible. Tears were streaming down her face, her entire body shaking.

Adelaine slowly rose to her feet, refusing to look up as she took a few, unsure steps toward the front door. She paused at the top of the stairs, frowning as she started down them slowly. She was biting into her bottom lip as hard as possible to keep herself quiet, not wanting to wake any of her neighbors. She was sure Bucky wouldn't take kindly to an interruption. When Adelaine finally slid into the passenger seat, she all but collapsed.

She pulled her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms tightly around her legs. Adelaine buried her face into her legs, flinching away from the door when Bucky slid into his seat. She forced herself to straighten out and put her seatbelt on, knowing full well how upset Bucky got when he didn't properly care for herself. Silence stretched between them for what seemed like forever. "Alph-" she started, yelping when Bucky slammed her head against the window, before she even knew what was going on. Adelaine pressed herself against the door as she held her head, deciding that her question didn't matter.

Maisie pulled her knees close to her chest and turned her body the best she could towards the window after Steve had announced he’d rather she be quite. She understood the message he was giving her, she’d pissed him off to a point that even hearing her voice was apparently upsetting him. At least that’s what she was assuming. Either way it was made clear that he didn’t want her to talk or even try and explain herself to him, and she felt like he didn’t believe her ‘excuses’. Though she wasn’t lying about anything.

It may have seemed like she was, or even like she would say anything that he wanted to hear to try and get herself out of trouble, but she wasn’t. She was giving him the whole truth even if it sounded stupid. And yes he was right she’d had an entire year to dispose of the jacket and she hadn’t so that had to mean something. But it didn’t. She simply hadn’t disposed of it, there wasn’t a reason that she’d kept it she just had. Maybe just incase winter came round again and her heater went out again, but that was her grasping at nothing trying to come up with something.

And rather than make things a million times worse for herself Maisie decided to just stare out the window and watch the scenery as they passed it by until she finally rested her head against the seat and shut her eyes calm enough to attempt and get some sleep before they arrived wherever they were going and Steve’s punishment was back at full force, something she wasn’t going to let herself even think about otherwise there would be no resting. Just like she didn’t let herself think of what Steve was going to do to Karen and her boyfriend when he found them. Because she was sure she didn’t want know, but she knew it would be bad.
“You clearly didn’t understand me when I said your voice is pissing me off. I mean it’s pissing me off and I don’t want to hear it. So don’t make another sound or let me hear another fucking word until I decide you can talk again. Now nod if you understand,” Bucky said not afraid to knock her head into the window again. Maybe it would even put her brain back together so she would stop making stupid ass decisions that got them into these exact messes. Maybe Adelaine enjoyed him pissed off, maybe she liked when he was extra mean to her and that’s why she was being disobedient.

Regardless, he was officially more pissed off than he’d been initially and there was no more holding back. Bucky had plans, plans to show Adelaine just how serious he was about things. She was going to see that she couldn’t just get away with things Scott free. No there had to be punishments, and he was allowed to do whatever he saw fit. No one was going to stop him, because they really couldn’t legally anyway. Adelaine was his omega, he’d claimed her as his own, he’d bonded with her again, there was no denying any of those things. But those things officially made her his property to do with as he saw fit, and that’s what he was going to do.

As they drove towards the destination he couldn’t stop seething he was so upset, and his omega wasn’t going to calm him down. But he did know what he needed something otherwise he wasn’t sure he’d be able to stop himself from ripping her apart until she wasn’t a problem for anyone anymore. He didn’t want to do that though. He didn’t want to kill her, then everything he’d done so far would have been for nothing. Plus that defeated his whole purpose for hunting her down. So he pulled out his phone and made a call.

“That’s correct, can’t wait,” he said as he didn’t even have to tell the person he’d called why he was calling. They already knew because it’d been a possible part of the plan since the beginning he’d simply hoped it wouldn’t come down to that, but it seemed like it had. And so Adealine was in for a surprise that she was not going to like at all.

Whether Maisie was telling the truth or not didn't even matter to Steve, at this point. Because she had left him... she could have contacted him after she was supposedly kidnapped. He would have welcomed her back with open arms and a bit of praise after she told him the truth of what happened. No, instead she took it as an opportunity to stay as far away from him as possible. As if she thought that Steve wouldn't use every last resource at his hands until he found Maisie. Until he could claim her again. And claim her, he would. What he had done so far tonight was nothing compared to the plans that he had in place once they were alone at the cabin.

Steve didn't look at Maisie until he had been driving for nearly three hours, his anger having only just begun to simmer down. He was angry with Maisie still but that anger could wait until they were alone. Just seeing Maisie all relaxed in the passenger seat calmed his alpha. Told him that she was safe and that safety was all that could matter. No one would bring harm to Maisie, he would not fail her. He would continue to lead her, to provide for her, to give her pups. It was just that Steve had to help Maisie see the same picture of the future that Steve had. She would care for his home while he provided everything for her. She would never have to want for anything in her life.

Pulling up to a hotel, Steve let out a sigh as he turned the car car off. They had driven for nearly ten hours but he was growing steadily more tired. They would finish their trip tomorrow after they were both well rested. Steve bought one of the nicer rooms, coming back out to the car with key in hand. He pulled the passenger door open and knelt down, lifting Maisie into his arms before turning to carry her up to their room. They wouldn't be here for any longer than rest and potentially to grab a bite of breakfast if they were still here when it started getting served.
Adelaine bit down on her bottom lip as hard as possible to keep her cries quiet as Bucky spoke to her. She gave the tiniest nod of her head, afraid that if she did anything else, that she wouldn't be able to contain herself. She closed her eyes, trying to force herself to relax enough that she could sleep. She didn't know where they were going on how long it would take until they got there... but she knew that whatever they were going to do once they got there wasn't going to be pleasant. She was likely going to be curled into a ball at his feet, shaking and sobbing and desperate for mercy that she didn't think was going to come. Even now, she could practically feel the anger rolling off of Bucky and that broke her right down to her very core.

She was terrified because she knew what an angry Bucky was capable of but she was more disappointed in herself for having upset him. Adelaine hated herself for hurting him so badly. Clamping her eyes shut, Adelaine wiped frantically at her eyes as she tried to calm herself down. If she kept getting worked up, she would end up making noise and upsetting Bucky even more.

Adelaine let out a shaky breathe, gulping as she forced herself to sit up slightly straighter. She twisted in her seat, holding her breathe as she eyed the contents of the back seat. She was surprised to see one of Bucky's jackets abandoned. Adelaine's brows pulled together as she glanced up to Bucky for a moment, wondering if it would anger him if she took it. It wasn't as if she was stealing it. She just wanted the jacket to wrap around her and found some sort of comfort in his scent. Adelaine reached out to grab it, her entire body tense even as she pulled it over her chest. Inhaling sharply as she pressed her nose to the fabric, Adelaine felt her body relax. Bucky was close, he would protect her from everything. She was just supposed to keep him happy - if that meant taking the punishments that he saw fit, Adelaine would just have to suffer.

Maisie was apparently much more exhausted than she'd realized because she only stirred slightly when the car stopped, but she didn't open her eyes, still too tired for even want to, not even when she felt Steve lift her into his arms. She simply nuzzled her face into his neck moaning softly when she got a nice whiff of his scent. This was the first time since he'd found her that his scent made her feel comfortable and more relaxed than before, how it should be. Because right now Steve smelled like her alpha, he smelled like a nice warm and comforting bonfire, not the awful things she'd been getting from him. But she supposed they had been driving long enough and it had been quite enough for him to really mull over his anger so maybe most of it was gone. At least for the time being. Maisie didn't know what she could do to keep Steve this way, or maybe even show him that everything over the last year really had been stupid and she knew that and that it would never happen again. She didn't want to run away from him, or be without him, or have him leave her for someone else even who would be a better listener than she was. She just wanted Steve.

She wanted to say something to him, tell him how much she'd missed him or how happy she was for them to be together again, and that he was taking her home, even though they were making a pit stop somewhere for who knew how long. But she didn't, she decide that it was best if she kept her mouth shut and didn't do anything that could potentially lead to making him angry again. And she didn't want him to have to listen to anything else he deemed a stupid excuse for why they were in the current situation. It was also late and she could tell that he was tired and needed to rest as much as she needed more rest.

It was nice to lay in a nice bed again. The bed she'd been sleeping on for the last year was probably the most uncomfortable thing she'd ever slept on in her life. But it was also all she'd been able to afford really so she'd dealt with it. But this bed in the hotel was nice, it reminded her a lot of the bed she shared with Steve back at the tower. Which was soft enough she felt like she was laying on a cloud. If she'd been able to fall asleep in the car then she wasn't going to have any trouble at all sleeping here.
Bucky drove for a solid twelve hours before letting himself calm down some, especially when he saw Adelaine pull one of his jackets she found in the backseat around herself. It was nice for him to see her still find comfort in his things and the way he smelled even when she knew he was upset with her. This was how he did want things to be. He wanted her to understand that he loved her but she'd hurt him so badly that he couldn't control much of anything right now. But once they were in a good place again then this was how things could be again. She could roam around in his clothes or his jackets or whatever because it would make it even more known the world that she was taken by someone. But he hoped she would also know that she was taken care of. That Bucky would move heaven and earth for her. She was never going to want for anything because he was the provider and he would provide anything and everything for her.

They just weren't there yet. Things were complicated at the moment because she had decided to run, leave him, and then do things to keep him from finding her. Then she'd held onto another alpha's jacket for possibly a year now, and for all, he knew there was more. And that had to be dealt with. He had to make sure that she was properly punished for the things that she'd done then they could work on moving forward. But that would all have to wait until they arrived at their destination, which was not going to be today because he needed food in his stomach and to rest for the evening. He also figured that his omega would want to stretch her legs, eat, and rest as well, so he pulled over at the next exit and got them a room at one of the nicer hotels in the area.

Once that was all ready he went to open her door and take her hands in his. "Darlin'" he said giving them a gentle squeeze, "we're taking a break from driving for a while. And I figured that you were hungry so we could order room service there are a couple of places to eat around here if you'd rather have something else," he said not in the mood for anything specific but needing something. And right now anything would suffice.

Steve cradled Maisie to his chest, carefully maneuvering her as he pulled back the covers on the bed in the room. He pulled her shoes off, dropping them by the door before to the desk in the corner of the room. There was a binder with a few different papers inside of it but he flipped right to the room service menu. He had been told it was a bit too late, at first, until Steve raised an eyebrow and mentioned who he was. That had been all it took for there to be a sudden change in offerings. The beta behind the counter fumbled over her words, nodding anxiously as she offered as bright of a smile as she could. She was quick to tell him that she would arrange something and that as soon as he had made a selection, to let her know and the food would be brought up to his room as soon as it was made. Steve had gave a smirk and thanked her before he made his way up to the room with Maisie in his arms.

He read over the options, deciding on a steak for himself and after a moment longer, Steve opted for a pasta dish for Maisie. It would fill her and she could keep some for the morning to warm up if she didn't eat it all tonight. Steve phoned in the order, feeling his ego only continue to grow when they reassured him that the food would be up shortly. It had better be, Steve wasn't going to be patient tonight. Not when it meant him needing to eat and his omega needed to be cared for - she needed to eat. Anything that was going to stop him from being able to care for Maisie was not going to last very long.

Steve rose from his seat, moving over to the bed. He sat on the edge of the side that Maisie was on. He reached out, bringing his fingers through her hair. "Wake up, 'mega," he murmured, cupping her cheek after a moment. He smirked as he brushed his thumb over her cheek. "Food is on its way. I ordered you a dish that can be warmed in the morning if you decide that you don't want to eat all of it tonight," he told her quietly. "You can change if you'd like... freshen up. Whatever it is ou omegas do," Steve paused, eyeing her hungrily. "But be ready by the time food gets here. Understood?"
Adelaine was completely exhausted, she had been before she got home but Bucky's arrival had been all that it took to keep her adrenaline going. Being able to rest for a majority of the time that Bucky drove, Adelaine had only woken up here and there. She was still perfectly content to rest under Bucky's jacket. Truth be told, she had missed him so, so much. She'd missed his touch and his scent and all the comfort that it brought along. She just... didn't miss the pain that she often suffered at Bucky's hand. It was wrong. Groaning as the car came to a stop, Adelaine lifted her head. She blinked tiredly, rubbing at her eyes as she watched Bucky disappear into the lobby of the hotel. She let out a small whine, shifting in her seat. She wanted to follow after him but she wouldn't dare do so - Bucky had left her in the car, she didn't want to do anything that might make him angrier with her.

She relaxed back in her seat, not daring to lift her head as she did her best to pretend to just be waking up when Bucky opened her door. Adelaine blinked tiredly, her eyes finding Bucky's almost immediately. She gave a quick nod of her head at his words, her lips parting to speak before the dull ache of her lingering headache reminded her to be quiet. Adelaine bit back a sigh as she straightened, climbing out with Bucky's help. She blushed as she straightened her shirt, holding his jacket to her chest.

Adelaine was quiet the whole time up to their room, chewing on the inside of her lip. She was hungry admittedly and she'd be happy to eat before they did anything else but she was going to let Bucky take the lead. Shifting her weight from one side to the other as they stood in the room, Adelaine eyed the bathroom. A bath sounded wonderful but that was a reward; not something to be part of what she was able to have at the moment. That would only come when she behaved herself and made Bucky happy.

Her attention turned back to Bucky, her heart skipping a beat. Adelaine gave him a shy smile, a blush forming on her cheeks. She couldn't help but wonder what Bucky had planned for her, remembering His phone call in the car. What couldn't wait? She wasn't so sure that she even wanted to find out. But she would be, sooner or later. She was sure of it.

Maisie opened her eyes and finally looked at Steve when he spoke to her, she'd been quite content on laying in the nice warm and cozy bed until morning when it was time to leave, but even in her sleepy state of mind, she knew that Steve didn't care much about that right now. If he wanted something from her then he was going to get that, and she'd much rather just make him happy to hopefully subdue the anger than not listen and make it worse. "Thank you," she yawned before deciding that she should freshen up a little bit because they'd been in a car for at least ten hours and she did feel kind of disgusting.

She nodded her head before she willed herself to climb out of the bed and then pull out a more cozy outfit than she'd had on. It consisted of a pair of sleep shorts and one of Steve's t-shirts that she'd had for a long time. She'd been sleeping in one his shirts the night Karen had decide it was best for her to leave so it came along for the ride with her, and this t-shirt had been a lifesaver on more than one occasion. Normally Maisie didn't pull it out because she hadn't wanted to remind herself of him, but on nights when her omega came out and needed anything to calm down it was the only thing that worked. Then she proceeded to undress and head into the bathroom to actually freshen up. While she knew that she and Steve had taken a shower before they'd left her apartment to even venture on this journey it hadn't been the best one she'd taken in a while. She'd honestly barely felt like she'd been able to clean herself off at all so having a few moments of silence to herself in the warm shower was nice. It allowed her to let out tears she'd been holding in for a while and it helped her muscles feel more relaxed than before. And after sleeping awkwardly in the car for so long had only made things worse.

After some time, but hopefully not too long Maisie stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around herself so she could go back into the room and grab the clothes she'd forgotten to take with her in the midst of being so eager to just take a shower alone. "I'm almost done, just need to get dressed," she said softly thankful that she didn't see any food because it meant that she still had time to be ready before it got there. But she was sure it would be there soon so she also knew to make drying off and getting dressed take as little time as possible.
Bucky led her up to the room he'd gotten them for the night before he ran his hands over his face. He was rather tired, and hungry, and he just wanted to relax for the remainder of the night, but he wanted to make sure that Adelaine was taken care of. There were just a few things that needed to be taken care of before he could settle down and relax. Nothing that he couldn't handle though. "Love, I'm going to go out and grab us some food. I won't be gone long. Just stay here and relax okay," he said gently putting his hands on her shoulders.

He did want her to know that things could be good with them, that she didn't have to always be afraid of him. And even through his anger, Bucky wanted to trust her again. He wanted to believe that she had learned her lesson, or at least was beginning to and understood that what was happening was simply a result of poor decision making on her end. However, things would not always be bad. They could be good again, and he wanted them to. So he'd start off small. Though trusting her without him while he went to grab food may have seemed pretty huge to some, Bucky didn't think it was that huge. He'd be gone maybe half an hour and he had a feeling that his omega was going to take advantage of that time and take a bath or cry or let out things she'd been forced to hold in the last twelve hours. So her mind wasn't even going to be on running again.

"I'll be back in half an hour or so," he said kissing her forehead. "Just be done freshening up or whatever it is you need to do while I'm gone by the time I get back," he told her expecting her to be finished with whatever when he returned because he didn't want to have to wait around for her to finish bathing or whatever to eat. He was hungry and he wanted to eat and get to bed as soon as possible, not wait around for her.

[ I hope this was good... Shifty ]

Running his tongue over his bottom lip as Steve watched Maisie undress. It made him want to reach out and to claim her all over again but he refrained, knowing that if he did, there was no way that they would be decent when their food arrived. He was starving, only having had a coffee and a small bag of chips from a gas station that he had stopped at. As soon as he ate, Steve knew that he would fall asleep. He let out a sigh as he raised to his feet, moving over to the bag that he had brought along. Only a few pairs of clothes were inside since most of what he needed was at the cabin he had rented for the pair of them. Steve changed into a pair of sweat pants, deciding that he didn't need to toss on a shirt. The room was a comfortable temperature and besides, he would have Maisie's body pressed against his to keep him warm throughout the night.

Steve settled back on the bed, breathing a sigh of relief as he stretched his limbs out. Nothing would be like just how stiff he had been when he woke from his slumber but he was still sore now, stiff from being in the same position for nearly twelve hours straight. He yawned as he set his hand behind his head, flipping through the channels of the television. He listened to the shower running but he paid no mind to it, settling on a news channel. Steve's thoughts began to drift, wondering just how much he was going to have to push until Maisie was properly under his thumb, where he wanted her to be. Where she would do as he told without needing to be told a second time, without having to be coerced, simply because it was her alpha telling her to. The way that it was supposed to be.

Steve sat up a bit straighter when the shower turned off, his attention turning toward the bathroom. He raised an eyebrow as he waited as patiently as he knew how. He tilted his head to the side, his gaze sweeping over Maisie's form when she opened the bathroom. He patted the bed in front of him, nodding toward the spot. "Come, 'mega. Sit," he murmured, wanting her to be close to him. Steve was tired and he had always been softer when he was tired.

He reached out, lacing his fingers with Maisie's hand the moment that she was close to him for Steve to reach out and touch. He smiled up at her. "Tony is expecting us to be gone for a few weeks but," he paused, "but. I want us to extend. Go on a vacation. So After we're done at the cabin, we can just... enjoy each other. Hm?" He suggested, brushing his thumb over her hand. Steve knew that their coming weeks were going to be tense, Steve wasn't going to be all that kind to Maisie until he was sure that he could fully trust her.
Adelaine's brows pulled together as she looked up to Bucky, realizing all too quickly that he was going to be leaving her alone. She swallowed the lump that formed in her throat as she tilted her head to the side. She took an almost immediate step forward to help close the distance between them. She wanted nothing more than to press herself against him and wrap herself in anything and everything that was Bucky. His scent meant safety to her, warmth and home and family that she wanted so badly to have. Exhaling instead of voicing her desires, Adelaine nodded reluctantly. She chewed on her bottom lip, his stomach twisting into an uncomfortable knot.

"Yes, alpha," she answered in a low voice. Adelaine was reluctant to watch Bucky leave, a small pout on her features as Bucky kissed her forehead. She bit down on her bottom lip as she leaned into his chest for a moment. Adelaine wanted to pout and wrap her arms around him and tell him that she didn't want him to go anywhere but she wouldn't dare. Bucky was the one that was in charge, his decisions were final - she had to trust the decisions that he made. Once Bucky shut the door behind himself, for the briefest of moments, Adelaine wondered if she should make a run for it. Bucky wouldn't be gone for very long but maybe... maybe she could get away from him. He had said it himself that this was the only second chance she was going to get. Just as quick as the thought appeared, it was gone. Adelaine couldn't stomach the idea of leaving Bucky. He was her alpha, her family.

Adelaine decided that a bath would take too long so she settled on taking a shower. She didn't want to keep Bucky waiting. But what Adelaine hadn't expected was the sob that bubbled up in her chest when she moved under the water. She was grieving because of the thought of leaving the life she'd built behind. There was no way that Bucky would let her work. She had enjoyed feeling independent and having things that she could do on her own, making her own choices without having to ask anyone else. Adelaine cried and cried until she felt like she couldn't any more, her eyes red and puffy. Sniffling as she climbed out of the shower, Adelaine decided to pull on a pair of her underwear. She tossed on one of Bucky's shirts, knowing he would like to return to her in some of his clothing.

Adelaine curled up under the covers on the bed, deciding to put on a random channel on the television. She didn't watch what was on, her thoughts racing a mile a minute as she wondered when Bucky would get back. She just hoped that he wouldn't say anything about how she had been crying because she didn't want to tell him the truth - she knew how angry he would be if she told the truth.

Maisie smiled at Steve as she listened and sat next to him on the bed. In the shower right before she’d gotten out she’d told herself that she simply needed to be a better omega. If she would just listen to Steve when he talked to her she could avoid all of this happening again. She did hate it, having absolutely no control over her own life, but at least she wouldn’t be getting herself beaten up or torn apart. She’d also told herself that even with no control over things she could do she did have control over how she responded and reacted. And she realized if she wanted to get through this torment Steve had planned she needed to accept it. Accept that he was angry, there was nothing she could do to change that, and her begging him to stop wasn’t helping. So when she heard him mention Tony expecting them to be gone for a few weeks she didn’t even let herself be phased by the thought that Steve probably thought that was how long he would have to torment her before she was who he wanted her to be.

She took a chance with her next move hoping that she wasn’t making a mistake by leaning forward to gently press her lips to his. “That sounds lovely,” she whispered against his lips before she pecked them one more time then positioned herself to where she was curled up next to him and she rested her head on his neck. Maisie had always liked this semi-sappy version of Steve, but she knew he was normally only like this when he was tired. She didn’t mind though because it was a nice change of moods which put her at ease. Even though she knew he wouldn’t stay like this, and the second they made it to the cabin he’d be angry again, it was a reminder to Maisie that the Steve she’d fallen in love with was still in there. It sucked that the angry version was just as much a part of him as this one, but at least this one was still around on occasion.

“Would you like me to help you relax you muscles?” She purred in his ear just noticing how stiff and tense he still seemed. Though it was understandable with everything that had happened recently that he would be. He’d driven them at least ten hours away from the life Maisie had been hiding in, and so he’d been in a weird position for that long not even getting a chance to stretch his legs or anything. He’d also spent the first portion of their car ride fuming which couldn’t have helped. And Maisie knew that being like this could go totally south for her, but she was taking any chances she could to show Steve that she was good, she’d never leave him again, and that despite everything she did love him. That was what he wanted after all, at least she was pretty sure.
Bucky stood right outside the door of the hotel room for a solid five minutes just listening in, and to make sure that Adealine didn’t get any bright ideas to try and run off. He wanted to trust her again after all, not have to put her through the hell that would come if she ran again. And he’d been serious that if she ever left him again she wouldn’t get another chance to be in his good graces ever. But he hoped for her own sake she knew that he wouldn’t just let her go either. If she ran again the hell she would pay for that wasn’t something he wanted for her. Once he knew she wasn’t running he sneaked back into the room just to make sure everything was good and when he heard the shower running he knew he could leave to grab food and that everything would be okay. She’d still be here. So that’s what he did, he grabbed them food from one of the restaurants near by settling on a light pasta dish for her that he knew she liked, and a nice burger for himself needing something a little greasy to fill himself up.

It didn’t take him long, and before he knew it he was back at the hotel setting the food on the small table provided in the room. “Eat up,” He said motioning for her to join him and enjoy dinner. Which after he hate honestly he’d probably take a shower of his own to wash off and try to relax as much as he could before going to bed honestly. They still had a lot of traveling to do before the we’re close to their destination and he wanted to finish up tomorrow. But they needed rest first.

“So I figured we would stick around until after breakfast in the morning then get back on the road,” he told her popping a few fries in his mouth. “And I’m not sure how long we’ll be there. I mean Tony isn’t expecting us back for a few weeks so it’s kind of up in the air,” He said sighing. He didn’t want it to take that long to things back on track, he hadn’t even wanted it to get this far, but here they were. So of course he was curious to how long it would actually take him to get Adealine to submit to him to a point where he wouldn’t have to be angry with her because she wouldn’t disobey to begin with. He wanted her to just listen without hesitation, he wanted her to listen because she was the omega and her alpha had told her to do something.

Steve found that he nearly wanted to laugh when Maisie said that she the next few weeks sounded lovely. He wondered for a moment if he had given her a false impression of what their time together was going to look like but he certainly hoped that he hadn’t. Steve would be kind to her in time but that would come after he knew that he could trust her wholeheartedly. At the moment, he felt like she was only being so well behaved so that he wouldn’t go so hard on her. So that he wouldn’t hurt her nearly as badly as she had hurt him. She deserved because apparently she had thought that he deserved it when she ran from him.

This was the omega that Steve wanted so badly by his side. The one that loved and doted on him in every way imaginable. Worshipped him, so that he never had to worry about how she felt. So that Steve never had to question where her loyalties laid. He was silent for a few beats after Maisie had spoken, wondering if he should allow her to touch him. He was already pressing his luck holding her to his side but at least he still maintained control. It would have been easy to push her away if he chose to.

Steve hummed for a moment, nodding his head as. He untangled his arm from around Maisie’s shoulders, groaning as he rolled over onto his stomach. His eyes fluttered shut as he pushed the pillows out of his way, letting his head drop against the cool sheets. “In the morning, I expect us to be on the way once we’ve finished eating,” Steve commented as Maisie started massaging the knots in his shoulders. It was painful but welcome because he knew he would feel a whole lot better once Maisie had finished her work on his back. Steve fell silent, letting his mind drift. Why couldn’t Maisie always be like this? If she was the princess that Steve wanted from her, he knew that he could give her everything in the world. She could do as she pleased, she would never want for anything again. Except that hadn’t been good enough to her. Huffing at the thought, Steve’s brows pulled together as he tried to force his anger back down. It had to wait, no matter how badly he wanted to just roll over and show Maisie that he was still in control of everything.
Adelaine hesitated when she watched Bucky start to set out their food on the small table in the room. She was starving, now that she had had a chance to decompress on her own. Without Bucky in the same room, Adelaine had been able to let her nerves settle a bit and she wasn’t as worried about what Bucky was going to do to her once they were at the cabin he had selected. If she showed that she could be good and do what he wanted her to, she hoped that Bucky would go easier on her. She could be the good omega that he wanted her to be, she just had to accept that she wasn’t going to be the one making decisions. She wouldn’t pick where they lived, or what she ate, or something as small as what she wore out on a date. Everything had been up to Bucky because he liked that level of control and who was Adelaine to tell him no?

She pushed the covers off of her lower body, rising to her feet as Bucky spoke. Adelaine gave him a light smile as she moved toward him, tucking one foot under her as she sat in front of him. “It looks good,” she spoke, her voice a bit hoarse from the combination of how hard Bucky had choked her earlier and that she’d just been crying. “Thank you, alpha,” she murmured, letting the title roll off her tongue. It made her want to press herself up against him and ignore their food because she’d been without him for a year. Adelaine had nearly forgotten what it felt like, not having decisions to make. Just being able to do as she was told.

Adelaine swallowed as she looked down to the food in front of her, her stomach twisting into an uncomfortable knot at Bucky’s words. If he didn’t know how long they were going to be... she couldn’t help the chill that ran down her spine. “It will be time well spent, regardless. Because we’ll be together,” Adelaine spoke quietly, chewing on the inside of her lip. She wanted to be excited because she would have Bucky’s undivided attention but at the same time... she would have all of his attention focused on her. “I can make you that pork tenderloin that you like. The one with the maple gravy,” she added, starting to push her food around on her plate. Adelaine was hungry but her nerves were starting to get the best of her. She didn’t know what Bucky was planning to do to her but she knew that she had to be on her best behaviour to prove to him that she wasn’t going to ever question him again.

Maisie knew that the coming weeks were going to be hell for her. Regardless of what she did now, Steve had already made it very clear to her that she'd hurt him when she left and he was going to make her feel the pain that he'd felt. She also knew that there was no way he'd made her feel what he'd felt yet. If he had they wouldn't be going to the cabin, at all. If Maisie had in fact gotten Steve to forgive her and move on this soon then she would for sure feel off. Because if there was anything she knew it was that Steve was relentless when it came to punishing people, even for something so minuscule that a normal person would just move on and forget about it. But afterward, going on a vacation where he wouldn't be angry at her any longer, hopefully, that sounded nice. And she did want to spend some happy alone time with him, go on a vacation with him and just be with each other without any angry tension in the air.

She also didn't feel as worried about going to the cabin since her shower. Even knowing that he wasn't going to be nice, that he would probably be so mean to her they were going to be together working towards having things be normal with them. And that's what mattered the most, that all of this would be going on so she could pay her dues and then they could be 'happy' again. Once it was over Steve would know that he could trust her and that Maisie was a good omega who would never leave or hurt him again.

Maisie wanted to make sure she had the best angle in which to massage Steve's tense muscles so she straddled his back in order to really rub the knots out of his shoulders. Of course, she'd done this enough that she knew just how Steve liked it, and that's what she wanted to do tonight. Even if it was dangerous territory maybe, Maisie wanted to please Steve in the simple ways that she knew he liked. Maybe to remind him that she still knew him, what he liked and didn't like. Or maybe to remind herself that this was what Steve wanted from her, he wanted her to be the little omega who listened and simply doted on him all the time. He wanted to take care of her, but he also wanted her to take care of his needs from her as well and he shouldn't have to ask her. Steve expected Maisie to just know what he needed because she could sense it, he wanted her to just be his. And so maybe she was doing all of this to remind herself that she had to take care of Steve's needs. She needed to be a loving, obedient omega that he didn't have to worry about, because it just added more stress to him to have to do things like this. "Understood Alpha," she said softly leaning forward to massage one final knot out of his shoulders before she moved off of him, just in time as well because she heard someone knocking on the door and she assumed it was their room service finally arriving.
Bucky continued to eat his dinner deciding to ignore the weird tension that had somehow settled in the air. He knew that he had scared Adelaine back at her apartment, hopefully to the point where she would get it through her skull that he when he said something he meant it. He actually hated having to not only repeat himself but having to state obvious things. He felt like she should've just known that he didn't want to hear her speak he was so angry but of course, she'd decide to speak and he'd had to actually tell her that he didn't want to hear her which it upset him that he even had to tell her that. It was the same with the crying. Bucky just couldn't take it. And maybe he had been a little aggressive towards her, but in his own mind, she'd deserved it all, it wouldn't even be happening if she would've listened in the first place.

"You're right we will be together," he said softly nodding his head. "And I hope you're also right that it will, in fact, be time well spent," he said because he didn't want to have to do this again. He didn't want to have to take her to a cabin for days or even weeks at a time so he could have private time to teach her how to be a good omega. He felt like she should just know, but clearly, she didn't and so this was happening, but he didn't want it to happen again. Honestly, he'd wanted the cabin to be a happy place for them. A place he could take her to vacation and spend alone time together when he wasn't angry with her, but clearly that wasn't going to be an option this time around.

"If you're not going to eat dinner then I'd suggest at least getting in bed and trying to rest some. We still have a long drive tomorrow and want to be on the road right after breakfast," he told her as he finished up his own dinner. It had been quite good but now it was time to let his food settle a little before he let himself fall asleep, something he needed desperatly. Honestly, Bucky had a feeling that as soon as his head hit the pillow and the lights were out that he was going to be knocked out. A long day of driving and nothing but would do that to you though.

Steve was already considering where he would take Maisie. He had been all over the world, for lounging at a five star resort to seeing historic places to enjoying nature. There were places that he had enjoyed more than others but there wasn't anything that he felt a direct pull to. In fact, the only place that he continued to bring himself to was the omega beside him. Maisie was home to him, even if she didn't realize it. Steve had been robbed of his life for far too long, he wasn't going to compromise his happiness any longer. There was a reason that he had been brought back so to speak and he was hellbent on that reason not being only to save the world. He enjoyed his work but now, he thought it was okay if he decided to be a bit selfish.

His body relaxed as Maisie moved to straddle his waist. He knew that she wasn't going to try to pull anything silly, that she was only going to do as he asked of her. She'd be stupid if she tried anything at this point. Steve's eyes closed as the omega started working on the knots in his back. It hurt but in the end, his body would benefit. His face scrunched at a particularly painful spot but other than that, he didn't react. Steve knew what pain was, this was nothing.

Maisie's words were like music to his ears. Hearing her call him alpha made his heart flutter in a way that Steve had missed. In a way that it didn't react when another omega called him by his title. No one was like Maisie to Steve. He just needed to make her see that. When he decided that he was done with the massage, Steve turned onto his side. She slid down to the mattress and he was quick to reach out, slipping his arm around her waist before he pulled her down to his side. "Get some rest. We have a long trip tomorrow. We won't get to where we're going until well after dinner time," he murmured into the crook of her neck. He pressed his nose to her scent gland, a content rumble sounding from his chest as he reached out blindly to turn the light off.
Adelaine tensed when Bucky called her out on not really eating. She looked up to him, frowning slightly as she gave a nod of her head. "Yes, alpha," she murmured. She looked down to her plate, deciding to force herself to eat another few bites before she couldn't bare to eat anymore. She could eat it in the morning... or she could wait for the breakfast the hotel served. Adelaine knew Bucky well enough to know that he wouldn't let her not eat breakfast after hardly eating at all today. She stood, placing her left overs in the mini fridge below the television before she straightened back up.

She curled under the covers of the bed, not even having to say a thing before she moved over to the spot beside the wall. Bucky would want her there so there was less chance of her getting away. Adelaine hadn't needed to ask and it hurt to think about but if it would make Bucky happier, she would do it. If he was calm, he was about as happy as he was going to get tonight. "Alpha," Adelaine started, lifting her head as she eyed him. She couldn't help but shiver, pushing the blanket up to her chin. It wasn't cold in the room but she was still nervous, contributing to the shiver.

"I missed you," Adelaine admitted in a small voice, pressing herself into Bucky's side the moment that he had settled down. She knew it was foolish to admit, that Bucky probably didn't truly believe her but it was the truth. Adelaine had missed Bucky every moment that she was apart from him but she had known it was necessary. Or had thought it was, anyway. "I know that you probably don't.." she trailed off, her face scrunching. "Sorry. You're probably tired," she mumbled, forcing her eyes shut as she set her head on his chest.

Maisie curled up close to Steve content with laying there and sleeping for the night. And even though she'd slept for a good portion of the car ride already it wasn't the most relaxing thing in the world, she also hadn't felt rested. But laying close to him now, in a comfy bed, she felt safe and as she could actually rest easy for the first time in a very long time. Honestly, Maisie couldn't even remember the last time she'd truly felt this relaxed. Sure since she'd run there were nights when she got plenty of sleep, and there were times when she didn't feel tired at all but she couldn't say that she'd ever really felt relaxed in the last year. She had been looking over her shoulder pretty much the entire time worrying about what could happen to her.

She was with Steve now though so nothing. Sure once they made it to the cabin the following night she might not feel the same way she did right now, but currently, Maisie felt safer than she had in a while. She felt more content about life even. And all these things made her wonder why she really hadn't gone running back to Steve herself. Had she really lost so much of herself that she couldn't even bring herself to just pack up and find a way back to him? She should've done something the moment she realized what was going on but she hadn't and now she had to face the consequences. But at least she was getting one night with him to be content before it all went down.

"I love you alpha," she mumbled just wanting to put the words out there to him again before she fell asleep. And even if he didn't believe her, because Maisie knew she hadn't really given him a reason to believe her, she'd needed to tell him. She simply needed to say the words aloud for Steve to hear even if he didn't believe her, because regardless they were true. She loved him so much, even if she had been complete shit at showing it. Deep down Maisie loved Steve and was more scared of living her life without him than thinking of what he could do to her if she didn't listen. And the last year had just been a very large mishap that she wouldn't ever let happen again.
Bucky finished off his burger then joined Adelaine in the bed. It was actually kind of calming for him to lay next to her, feel her body so close to his own. In a moment like this, he could, and did, wrap his arms around her and pulled her closer to himself sighing in relief that she hadn't run off again. He was thankful that she was still there and he didn't have to hurt her down again. He also really liked that he could keep her safe. He knew where she was because he could feel her right next to him and so he didn't have to worry about her.

"I've missed you too 'mega," he said softly into her ear as he rested his head next to her own. He went ahead and turned off the lights because they both did need to get some rest. They had a long day of traveling ahead of themselves and he'd rather not waste any precious day time they could be driving, sleeping because they were too tried to wake up. That wasn't happening. "But we should get some rest. We have a long drive ahead of us," he added as he gently ran his hands over her hair just happy for a brief moment that he had his omega wrapped up in his arms again.

They'd have plenty of time to talk things through and get all of his emotions and feelings about everything out in the open once they made it to the cabin. Tonight in the hotel was not the time or the place that he wanted to talk to her about anything. Maybe they could even talk on their drive to the cabin if they were both up for that, and Bucky could find some way to keep himself and his anger under control. Then once they made it to the cabin there wouldn't have to be unnecessary talking about things they could focus solely on other things, like whatever punishment he still saw fit for the fact that she had left him. Though Bucky already had plans for her, granted he knew she wouldn't like his plans, but he was also the one in charge and he would do as he pleased.

Steve stayed awake for a few more minutes, finding contentment in just running his fingers through Maisie’s hair. It had been too damn long since he had the luxury and he wanted to take a moment to himself to enjoy it. His grip on Maisie tightened before it began to relax a few minutes later as his breathe evened out. Though Steve’s grip never completely faltered, subconsciously he was still on alert. Afraid that Maisie would leave him again. Throughout the night, Steve slept rather soundly. Despite that, he found himself feeling completely exhausted when he woke in the morning. He had set an alarm for 7am. Just enough time for them to get ready and get on the road.

Leaning over Maisie, Steve grinned as he cupped her cheek. “C’mon, omega. It’s time to get up. We have a long day ahead of us and we need to get going so we can get to our destination before it’s too late in the day, hm?” Steve murmured, sleep still laced into his voice. Steve reluctantly pushed the blankets away from his body, rising to his feet. He was quick to change into a fresh pair of clothes before looking over to her.

“Do you want your leftovers or do you want to go down for breakfast before we leave?” Steve asked, figuring that he could give her the option. Each would end up taking about the same about of time.
Adelaine all but melted into Bucky’s arms at his words. It warmed her heart and made her relax a bit knowing that even if Bucky was mad and hurt, he had still missed her. She started to chew on her bottom lip, eventually succumbing to sleep as she curled into Bucky’s side.

She let out a whine when Bucky’s alarm went off. Adelaine wasn’t really tired any more but she was far too content to just lay pressed into Bucky’s side for the rest of the day. She would have, too, if Bucky had allowed her to. Adelaine reluctantly climbed out of bed, moving toward her bag. She pulled on a pair of shorts, deciding that she would continue to wear Bucky’s shirt. It was comforting to her and she knew that Bucky liked it so there was no reason for her to stop.

Adelaine’s face broke into a small grin when she realized that there were build your own waffles in the offered breakfast. Before Bucky could even speak, Adelaine moved to them and busied herself making one. She looked up suddenly when she felt his presence behind her. Adelaine offered a shy smile, tilting her head to the side. “Is.. is it okay?” She asked suddenly, realizing that Bucky May have preferred her to eat something else. “Or did you want one, too?” She offered, reaching out to flip the waffle maker when the little green light turned on.

Maisie yawned and stretched before she rolled over to look up at Steve, "can we go down for breakfast?" she asked him softly with a smile before she pushed the blankets off of herself and climbed out of the bed as well. There was no point in waiting around to get out of bed and get a move on because it would only upset Steve if she took her sweet time. Even though she had no idea where the cabin actually was she knew he wasn't lying about wanting to get on the road early. And she would prefer as much as he would not be in the car driving super late into the day, so the sooner they got on the road the sooner they'd arrive and she wouldn't also be trapped in his car.

She decided to change out her shorts for leggings feeling like even Steve would agree that they were more appropriate than her shorts, but she opted for leaving Steve's shirt on as it was comfortable still in more than one way. It didn't take her long to collect her things before she was walking out of the hotel room and making her way down to breakfast.

Honestly, Maisie hadn't realized how hungry she was until she saw all the food she could pick from. It had kind of been a long time since she'd seen so much food really, and while she didn't plan on pigging out she did plan on eating well enough to not be hungry for a while. But it was also nice to have options, she'd spent the last year living off of whatever she could afford, which some weeks that was a lot more than others so she'd easily become accustomed to not exactly having options and just eating whatever she could find even if she wasn't in the mood for it. Thankfully that wasn't going to be an issue anymore, because she was with Steve again, and she knew that he wasn't going to let anything bad happen to her.
"Have whatever you want," Bucky told her figuring he could let Adelaine make this choice on her own, after all, it was just breakfast and he was going to be in the same room as her the entire time so he felt like it was safe to let her have this small ounce of freedom. Plus he felt like he if he showed her that he could be nice, that he could let her have freedom, that he could start to trust her again, even with something this small then she'd stop crying so much. Honestly, he didn't want to cater to this but he also wanted to do whatever it took to get back on track with her even if that meant easing up on her a little for the time being.

Bucky shook his head opting for an omelet from the hotel's omelet bar and a couple of slices of bacon and some toast. Personally, he'd never been a huge fan of waffles or even pancakes for that matter. Sure there might be a day or two when he was really in the mood from them but it didn't happen often, and today wasn't one of those days. "I hope you enjoy your breakfast," Bucky told her once they were both sitting at the table, he had noticed that seemed in a better mood today than yesterday. Though he could understand why they'd both gotten food in their systems and gotten a little rest. Plus no one had lost their temper yet so there hadn't been any yelling or reason to be upset.

"Once we're done eating we'll go ahead and head out," he told her taking another bite of his breakfast and looking up at her. "We should just get on the road as soon as we can. I mean the sooner we get back on the road the sooner we'll get to our destination," he told her wanting to be there before nightfall. There was still a lot of things that Bucky and Adelaine needed to go over, there were still things that Bucky needed to deal with in regards to her before they were really going to be okay, and he felt like the sooner they got everything out in the open and he cleared everything from his chest the sooner they really could be okay again.

Steve gave a nod of his head when Maisie asked if they could head downstairs to eat. He saw no reason for them not to be able to. He could check them out before joining Maisie in the dining room. Once he had settled on his outfit and she was ready, Steve lead the way downstairs. He wanted to get on the road now and truth be told, he didn't want to wait even long enough for the pair of them to eat. He thought for a moment and was sure that if he requested it, the staff would box some food up for them. He was Steve Rogers, after all. After a moment of consideration, he decided against it since they were going to be in the car for most of the day. Now would be just about the only time they would have to stretch their legs.

"Go on. Get a table and you can start eating," Steve murmured, giving her a light push in the direction of the dining room. He smiled, pressing a light kiss to her temple. "I'm going to check us out and then I'll be in," he said, squeezing her hip for a moment. He let his hand linger on her before he turned, heading toward the front desk. Steve huffed when he saw that there was a bit of a line up, reluctant to be away from Maisie any longer than he needed to be. By the time that he had finished checking out, Steve's shoulders had squared and he was ready to all but shove people out of his way to get to Maisie.

He exhaled slowly when his eyes found Maisie. Steve turned stomping over to the rows of food. He piled a few pancakes onto the plate with sausage and hashbrowns before returning to the table that Maisie had picked out. He dropped down opposite of her, reaching out to grab her wrist. Steve pulled her arm forward, pressing his nose to the inside of her wrist. It helped to calm the tension in his shoulders but it didn't completely disappear. He sighed as he dug into his plate, looking up to Maisie after a moment. "Make sure you fill up, that way we don't have to stop too soon," he spoke, lacing his fingers through Maisie's. His grip was a bit tighter than it needed to be but he needed the physical contact.
Adelaine couldn't help the blush that crept over her cheeks when Bucky spoke about her breakfast. She nodded, covering her mouth as she finished swallowing the bite she'd just taken. Her eyes dropped to the table between them, taking a bite of the hashbrowns she'd covered in hollandaise sauce. "I haven't had waffles in.. too long," Adelaine said, unsure of whether her words would anger Bucky or not. It was pulling attention to the fact that she had run from him and that she had barely been able to take care of herself. She could have only imagined what would have happened if she lost her job or was sick for a few days and unable to actually work. "It's a shame they don't have strawberries to go on top though," she added. She'd always had a thing for strawberries and whipped cream on top of her waffles.

It wasn't long before they had both cleared their plates and Adelaine was starting ot look around a bit anxiously. She knew that the next time they stopped, they would be wherever Bucky was taking her. She wished she had some sort of clue about what he was going to do to her but she was sure that Bucky was going to keep her in the dark until it was time to spring the punishment on her. Adelaine swallowed around the lump that formed in her throat as she settled in the passenger seat of Bucky's car.

Adelaine glanced up to Bucky, chewing on the inside of her lip. She shifted, trying to get a bit more comfortable. "Alpha," the word flowed from her lips effortlessly. Bucky seemed like he was in a better mood this morning so she thought that she might be able to ask a few questions without irritating him. "I know.. I know you don't want to tell me what we're doing when we get there but... where are we going?" She asked quietly, leaning down to pull the abandoned hoodie off of the floor. She settled it on her lap, relieved as Bucky's scent wrapped around her. She was hesitant to even ask a question but she hoped that his good mood coupled with how she had behaved would mean he'd be able to answer her.
