Maisie listened and went ahead to make herself a plate of breakfast while Steve checked them out of the hotel, and she took her few moments of freedom to simply be. She fixed herself a plate and sat down at one of the few empty tables to eat in silence, and by the time that Steve returned with his own plate of food and sat down she'd already finished the plate she'd made herself. Maisie didn't even flinch when Steve gripped her hand a little tighter than she thought necessary rather she gently ran her thumb over his hand in hopes that it would help calm him down. She wasn't sure what had happened if anything, in the few moments leading up to this but something was clearly bothering him because he just seemed tense.
She nodded her head understand that Steve did not want to stop unless they had to. And she didn't want them to have to stop unless it was really necessary because the longer they were in the car the longer she had to wait to simply get this whole punishment thing started and over with. Though she was still kind of holding out hope that last night and maybe even this morning could get him to ease up on whatever he had planned for her, even if it was just a bit. Though she didn't want to hope too hard because this was Steve, she'd hurt him pretty badly, and she also understood that he was going to do whatever he saw fit because he was the alpha and she was the omega and that's just how things worked.
"I'm ready whenever you are alpha," Maisie said softly wanting Steve to know that she'd eaten and that whenever Steve was ready to sweep her away back into the car so they could get on the road again, but she also knew that he would have to finish eating first.
Bucky sat at the table with Adelaine while they ate their breakfast and he did everything he could to keep himself calm. He didn't even let himself react to her comment about not having waffles in forever. Though he wanted to, after all, even though he didn't like them himself she could've had waffles whenever she wanted them had she not ran away from him. Because all Bucky wanted was to provide for his omega, and that meant whatever the hell she wanted. This was not the time or the place to have that discussion, and maybe if he gave himself some time he could just move on from it. Even just hearing her say that she would've liked strawberries and whipped cream for her waffles made Bucky want to get those things for her because he truly just wanted to provide for her. But she'd taken that away from them both when she'd decided to run off.
He sighed once they were in the car again knowing that they had a long day of driving ahead of them and there would be plenty of time for the anger he felt bubbling up inside of him to calm down. There was already enough things he remembered to fuel the anger he felt towards the situation of her leaving there was no point in adding things to that that weren't even important anymore. After all, they were together again and he wasn't going to let anything come between them. Nothing and no one was going to come between them, he'd make sure of it. Though the punishment that was in store for Adelaide wasn't going to be pleasant at least she would know at the end of it that she belonged to him and there was no other answer.
Bucky turned to look at her briefly when she'd asked him where they were going. He hadn't thought it was important for her to know before, but he supposed that it wouldn't matter anymore. There was no way she was getting away from him again, not now. Not unless she was stupid enough to jump out of a moving car but even he knew she wouldn't do that so what could possibly hurt by telling her. "We're going to a cabin in the mountains. Somewhere where we won't be disturbed by anyone,"
