"I know, I know.. I'll get it all sorted out. You won't have to be King, and Emberly and I will be married like planned." He said as he looked at his brother, patting him on the back. "Emberly's doing alright... She's asleep now, I think she's still recovering a bit from the potion, and with her wings coming in so quickly, she'll probably be in bed for a day or two longer than I'd planned.. But she ate all her breakfast, which was a relief." He sighed when he mentioned their parents, nodding a little. "I know, I'm going to go talk to them after this... but I wanted to ask you about that girl I saw you with last night."

Leo rubbed the back of his neck as Jasper asked about Meredith. He sighed looking back int he direction of the little village. "Her name is Meredith and I'm not ready to tell you more than that. I have plans but it has to be done the right way." he said and shrugged. "For now helping Emberly is my main objective." he said knowing his brother would make some wild guesses and in this case he would probably be right but for once Leo hoped his brother would just leave it alone.



Emberly woke her stomach roaring with hunger, her back aching and her mouth as dry as the lands in summer during the dry months. Emberly sat up feeling grimy and wishing he had the tub and pots for boiling she had at home to clean with. Emberly looked around seeing the room empty. She stood and moved about seeing at least a wash basin. She cleaned up before looking over seeing a dress hung over the chair and she went over and dressing. She used the mirror to fix her hair then turned as the door opened and Jasper walked in again. Her wings fluttered angrily as her eyes narrowed. Now that she was feeling better and the reality of her situation was starting to sing in she was angry. Her wings ached at the fluttering and she looked away from Jasper out towards the windows.

Jasper nodded a little as his brother explained what he was up to, understanding that he wanted to wait and plan things out. "Alright... I'll go to speak with Ma and Fa... I hope everything works out, Leo."

After his talk with his mother and father which didn't go terribly well, but didn't go terribly, he decided to bring lunch back to Emberly's room, figuring that if she were awake, she'd be hungry, and that if she weren't awake, she'd be hungry when she woke up. He was surprised to see she was awake, and even though he could tell she was angry, he was glad that she was feeling better enough to be using her wings.

"Good afternoon, Emberly. I've brought you some lunch, because I figured you'd be hungry.. I can rub some more of that salve on your back while we eat, and then do my best to answer your questions.." He grinned sheepishly, setting the tray down on the table. "Your wings look beautiful, like a sunset."

Emberly looked down at the food in his hand as he mentioned food and felt the saliva in her mouth prick. She sighed half tempted to try and starve herself just to drive a point but she was so hungry. Was it her new Fae body just didn't hold food like her human body had. She didn't want him to touch her right now but the ache in her wings and through her back where to immense to deny the salve. She looked at him as he moved across the room her eyes narrowing as she watched him. When he set the food down she moved over to the bench and bit her lip. she had just stopped at the table when he complimented her wings and as if trying to hide them they drew back behind her making her whimper before they relaxed back to their original state. She sat at the bench and looked down at the strange food. It wasn't abnormal to see all that was on her plate in the forest she had just never eaten it before and now she had a desire for it. It was odd. Emberly looked back at him finally speaking. "Where the hell am I?" she started her voice quiet with was more dangerous than if she was yelling at him.

Jasper made sure to keep his movements slow, not wanting to startle her. He frowned as she whimpered, grabbing the salve and moving behind her, collecting some salve on his hand. "I'm sorry it hurts, Emberly.. It'll be all better soon, I know it." He promised as he rubbed the salve into her skin, moving to sit across the table from her to eat his own lunch. He frowned when she asked where she was, offering her a faint smile. "You're in the Fae kingdom, which happens to be the oldest oak tree in the woods near your village.."

Emberly frowned as he grabbed the salve and pressed it on. If it didn't feel so good she could moan she never would have let him touch her but she had n choice completely incapable of doing it herself. Emberly frowned as he told her where she was. "Why did you bring me here?" she asked him her eyes narrowing on him again. Emberly had the impression that he was under some kind of delusion that they where old friends but she knew it had to be more than that. He wanted something from her and she intended to find out before it was too late. If she had any chance at her own life she had to figure out how to get out of here. she had never heard stories about the fae returning people they had taken but it didn't mean it couldn't happen right? Emberly frowned at the thought wondering exactly what it was that she would be going back to anyways. She had never belonged there. Emberly had a million and one questions but didn't know where to start.

Jasper frowned as she spoke again, pushing her plate of food closer, hoping to get her to eat. "I know you don't want to believe me, but I'm the boy you met when you were lost all those years ago.. I promised you I'd take care of you, and that one day I'd bring you here, and we'd be friends forever... That's what I'm trying to do, keeping my promise to you.. Although..." He blushed a little, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "I was hoping that maybe.. maybe instead of friends, you'd be my.. my wife.. But I won't make you or anything, I swear." He reassured her quickly, a little frown on his lips. "I'm sorry that I took you without telling you... but Fae are only allowed one visit to the village, so I didn't have a choice.."

Emberly frowned at the plate wondering a bit what he did to it. Ember looked back at Jasper as he spoke again and slabbed her fork standing so quickly her chair fell back. Everything he was saying made this all the worse. "First kidnapping someone is not protecting them! And second I am so angry with you, you would be lucky if friendship is on the table! Finally that is bull shit! I came to the forest so many times as a child and you never once came out to see me again!" she said tears springing in her eyes as her wings fluttered angrily. She wanted him to leave again she didn't want to have any more of this conversation with him. She shoved a hand through her hair and walked away from the table. His wife! It was almost laughable. What did he think was going to happen she would thank you and they would spend the rest of their life together her eternally trying to repay him? Emberly stalked to one side of the room and tossed open the doors. She couldn't force him to leave what she assumed was his room but she could leave it. Only when she stepped out of the doors she was on a balcony looking out to other trees and the occasional other balcony. Emberly blinked the tears back as much as she could her anger hot and leaking through her eyes.

Jasper flinched as she slammed her fork down, frowning as she stood and yelled at him. "I know you came more times, but I was forbidden to see you again.. My mother either kept me in the tree, or I had someone with me when I was out.. I tried to leave you flowers and other things to show you that I was thinking of you.. I tried so many times to sneak away but my brother always caught me and brought me home.. I tried everything to see you again, Emberly, I really did.." he explained as he stood, following her out toward the balcony. "I.. I know you're angry, and want to be alone.. This is your own room, mine is a little ways down the hall.. I'll leave you alone if you want, but this is a lot to process, and I worry that you'll rush into danger and not realize it." He sighed, wings dropping sadly as he turned to leave.

Emberly wanted to cry and yell some more but she knew she should let him walk away now. She sniffled as she leaned against the balcony and when she heard her door close she sank to her knees and cried so hard. This was madness. She knew she hadn't asked the questions burning inside her but she had a feeling she knew some of the answers. Like when could she go home? Never. She could never go home and hr mind knew it. The fae didn't let people go after they knew for sure/ Only children would sometimes return, like she had but she was no longer a child. After her tears dried up she lay on the balcony as the day wore on until her stomach growled in protest and she stood moving over to her abandoned food eating it. She couldn't deny that anything on this plate was better than anything she had ever eaten before she was transformed. What did people call her since she wasn't human and wasn't Fae? Emberly sighed as she sat down at her bed remembering the dancing she and Jasper had shared the night he had taken her. It had been a wonderful time and yet she was so angry at him for what he had done taking her.

Jasper paced the hall outside of her room, listening to her cry, feeling absolutely awful. Had he made the wrong choice? Should he have not taken her? Even if it were true, there was nothing that could be done now, he'd have to find a way to make it work for her. He left her alone for a few hours before returning with a tray of food for dinner, hoping that she'd eaten the plate he'd brought her for lunch. After quietly knocking on the door he slowly pushed it open, peering inside. "Emberly? Are you awake..? I've brought you dinner, in case you're hungry.. I've also brought more of that pain potion, and can put more salve on your back if you want to.." He spoke as he slowly stepped inside, tending to ramble when he felt awkward. He wanted to make it up to her, especially considering how well last night was going, as he knew that they could make it work. She just had to get used to the change, and there was no denying that it was a big one.

Emberly had cried herself to sleep and was doing that when Jasper knocked and came inside her room rambling on and on. she frowned and rubbed her eyes. "I'm not hungry yet... I think I rather go for a walk." she said as she stretched out sitting up slowly. Maybe she could escape. She didn't know what she would do then but it was a start. First she had to figure out if there was a way out of here. She looked up at Jasper as he looked down on her worriedly and she stood pushing off the bed and turned from him towards the door. "I am tired of being cooped up in here." she said though peeked back as him as he said pain potion and she stepped closer taking that. She sipped in relieved as the ache in her head started to ease away. Emberly didn't know how she was going to adjust to this all but being in the same room forever was not healthy at all.

Leo went to Artemis not knowing how he was going to convince her to make him a potion to make him big for the rest of the weak or how he was going to ask her to have a transformation potion ready as well. He knocked on the door tentatively and waited for the Fae to open it writing his hands around his shirt hoping that she wouldn't tell him no. He knew it was bad timing but he couldn't be without Meredith any longer. He needed to see her tomorrow. He had seen the flower she had left for him and knew it would break her heart if he had left another flower for her for the second day in a row.

Jasper nodded a little as she asked to go on a walk, setting the tray down and offering her the pain potion, smiling a little when she sipped it. "A walk would be alright.. I could show you around the tree. There's even a nice view of your village if we go all the way up, but it can be windy up there, and seeing as you don't know how to fly yet, it might be a bit too dangerous.." Jasper explained as he gestured for her to follow him.

Artemis opened the door, wearing her apron that she wore when she made her potions. She frowned a bit at seeing Leo unexpectedly, narrowing her eyes at him a little before sighing and gesturing for him to come in. "What is it, Leo? I'm very busy.." She mumbled as she headed back over to her workstation, milling through her supplies as she tried to find what herb she needed. "Want another potion to go back and see that girl?"

Emberly frowned and just walked out with him. She finished the potion before leaving, leaving the bottle behind. As she walked she signed. It felt good to get out and stretch her legs. She didn't know why he would bring up an area that was too dangerous for her to go to right now. She had never been able to fly before and found herself often on the tallest buildings where the wind was strongest, but then she hadn't had wings to make things more complicated back then. It was strangely odd to her how empty the halls were but she much preferred it this way right now. She didn't want to come into contact with other Fae, she was ready having troubles with the one next to her right now.

Leo came in and watched as Artemis told him to come closer. She was so busy because she was the only one that felt with the potions but also because she spent most the day goofing of and had to play make up on the other days. Leo hummed as she asked what he wanted. "Well you see it's kind of complicated." he said and bit his lip. She asked what he wanted by telling he what he needed and he stuttered. "I... Uhhh How did you know? Did Jasper tell you?" he asked because his brother was the only one that really knew anything.

Jasper was quiet for a while as he led her through the halls, trying to think of what they could do. "Well, where do you want to go?" He asked finally, looking over at her. "We could visit the library, or the kitchens, or we could go see Artemis. She makes the potions for the kingdom, I'm sure she'd like to meet you, even if she can be a bit.. eccentric." He smiled a bit, offering her his arm when he noticed her swaying a little. "I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to tell you all this before I brought you here.. But I did try, but you got so upset, and I was too nervous to try again."

Artemis chuckled a little at his confusion, shaking her head as she went back to mixing up a potion. "You look lovesick, like your brother did when he came to me asking for the same potion." She teased, glancing up at him before pulling a pot off of a little flame and pouring the contents into a glass vial, placing a cork in the vial before shaking it a bit and handing it to him. "Here. It won't last as long as last night's, but it will give you a few hours to be with her... How are you going to convince your parents to let you marry a human too? And have you told her about you being betrothed and all?"

Emberly shrugged as he asked where she wanted to go. she would have said home if it wouldn't have lead him to taking her straight back to her room. She looked down as he mentioned the places they could go. He explained about Artemis and she shrugged but shook her head not really feeling in the mood for company. She could hardly contain her anger at Jasper still. Emberly took his arm begrudgingly. She sighed as he blamed her for not letting him tell her earlier. Emberly saw a seat and pulled away from him sitting. She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment her wings burning against her back. That didn't seem normal to her at all but she refused to say anything at all about it.

Leo sighed. He sank into an empty seat and rubbed his face. He looked up and took the vial. "Thank you." he said and sighed. "I don't know how I am going to convince them but I might have to just bond with her first and ask permission later. My heart aches Artemis." he said and looked up at her. "I don't even know who my parents are trying to marry me to. They are still holding out hope they can guilt Jasper into marrying someone else other than the human girl. Once they give up hope they will set their sights on me. You know me Artemis. I have done everything for them but this... this I must do for me." he said and rubbed his neck.

Jasper frowned a bit when she moved to sit down, hesitating for a few moments before taking a seat next to her, although he kept his distance. "..I'm sorry, Emberly.. I should have talked to you first, I know it.. But I couldn't risk losing you, not again.." he frowned, hanging his head. They weren't bonded yet, so he knew that she could still technically leave, especially with Artemis' help, but he wasn't going to tell her that yet, especially because if he did she'd just insist on going because she was angry with him. He'd tell her once she was less angry, when he was sure she'd want to stay with him.

Artemis nodded, picking the leaves from some herbs and sprinkling them into a pot while they spoke. "I understand, Leo. Sometimes you have to choose yourself over others, and that's alright." She said, turning to her cabinets to look through her ingredients. "The soonest I can have a potion to turn her into one of us is four days from now. I'd try to rush it, but if I get one thing wrong, it wont work, so it's better for me to take my time.. do you think you can get everything sorted by then, or should I wait longer to make it? Its not good to let your heart ached for years and years like Jasper's done, but I'd understand if you wanted to wait longer."

Emberly sighed. "I just don't get it Jasper we met once before you decided you where going to take me. We where children." she said and tucked hair behind her ear. Emberly rubbed her shoulder. "Jasper..." she looked down at him. "I know there are a lot of excuses you could make. I didn't want to hear it or you couldn't tell me or what ever but there is no excuse for kidnapping someone. I don't want your apologies, or your promises of a better life. I just have a right to be upset and you need to let me be. I don't need you to fix it." she said and looked over at him.

Leo nodded and sighed. "Okay. I will talk to her tonight and let you know if we need more time." he said and rubbed his neck. Thank you Artemis." he said and stood. "Don't rush it if you need more time she will understand. I can not wait like my brother did. First we do not have the time and second I do not have the patience." Leo ran a hand through his hair again. "I have to go. She will be waiting on me." he said and grinned at her. He pulled her into a quick hug and then pulled away. "I will tell you all about her later." he said before dashing off.

Jasper frowned a little as she spoke, but nodded. She made some good points. "I know, and I'm sorry.. I'm not opposed to letting you be angry, but I just don't want you to be angry with me forever.. I know what I did wasn't the best, but I'm just trying to get you to see the bright side of things.. Haven't you always wanted to fly? Or live in a Fae home?" He asked.

Artemis laughed a little as he spoke and hugged her, waving a little as he took off. "Have fun, young one." She called before going back to her work.

Meredith had made her way to the forest again in the hopes of seeing Leo again, and when she didn't see a flower crossing hers she became excited, hoping that that meant he would come to see her. She'd already been waiting for an hour or so when he finally arrived, but she'd fallen asleep once more, dozing in the grass while she waited. She wasn't wearing her silly costume anymore, and was wearing her usual simple dress.

Emberly sighed and looked down. "Right now I don't want to look at the bright side. I know there is no getting out of this. The Fae people don't let their human captives return." she said more venom in her voice than she had intended. "I have plenty of time to be as mad as I want for as long as I want. For all you say you know me you don't know me as well as you think. I get angry but I don't stay that way forever." she said and then stood and her wings fluttered at the action. "I think I would like to go back to my room now." she said and watched as a fae moved past them and bowed. Emberly frowned the motion burning in her mind as they got back to her room. What did it mean? Surely there was an easy explanation... but that was impossible, and to coincidental right? Jasper couldn't be royalty.

Leo hurried to his meeting spot with Meredith and sighed seeing her sleeping as the foot of a tree in the grass. He struggled with himself to wake her or not but his time was short so he had no time to waste. Leo sat beside her tucked her golden hair back behind her ear and over her shoulder. "Meredith it is time to awaken." Leo called to her from within her sleep. He wanted to watch as her eyes drifted open and landed on him. He grinned when they opened, her stunning blue eyes clenching his heart in a deep desire and all his mind could think was the deepest desire he had to kiss those swollen pouty lips that turned into a smile at the site of him.
