Felix was sitting at the island, drinking his cup of coffee as Skye headed into the kitchen. His eyes shifted up from his phone to look over at his fiancee. He was surprised that she was up this early in the morning. There was really no reason for her to be, right? Well, maybe there was. Felix wasn't going to overanalyze her schedule. "Good Morning," Felix said pleasantly before looking back down at his phone.

As Skye continued to speak, he gave her a small nod. "Yes, I did. Thank you for asking. I hope that you sleep well?" He glanced up at her for a moment, looking Skye over. She seemed well-rested. "I hope the bed was to your liking." There were some guests that he had over that were very particular about how things were. Though, those people tended to be crazy rich as well and had whatever was best for them. He knew the beds in his house were luxurious, so it was unlikely that Skye would complain.

The man set his phone down to finish the rest of the food on his plate. He was almost done eating and he knew that he had to head out soon. It would be irresponsible to be late this morning. "I have to get going soon, but I was hoping that we could have lunch together today?" Felix said before continuing on. "Would that work for you?"

There was no doubt in his mind that the office would hear about the engagement at some point today, if not right away in the morning. So, he thought it would be nice to take her out to get Skye away from some of the gossip today. Also, it would look better if they had lunch together anyways.

With a couple of sips of coffee in her system, Skye finally had the courage to turn around to face Felix. A small smile playing along her lips as she listened to him. "I slept good, thank you." She murmured quietly and took another small sip of her half cup of coffee. Her eyes glancing towards the clock on the stove as she checked to make sure that she wouldn't be late to work. Even though she was sure that Felix would excuse her tardy, she was sure that the rest of the office wouldn't.

Shifting her gaze back towards the boss of the company she works for. Skye offered a small smile before answering him. "How could that bed not be to my liking? That thing was like sleeping on a cloud." Skye told him.

After taking a couple more sips of her coffee. Skye moved to the sink and rinsed her mug out, cleaning it thoroughly before putting it on the drying rack that was next to the sink. "I need to get coffee for the office now. So I'm going to head out." Sky told him as she headed towards the exit. Only to pause at Felix's question. A look of surprise appearing on her face. She was not expecting him to ask that. Especially since they just agreed on their terms. "Y-yeah. Sure." She told him and offered a small smile. "I'll see you at the office, Felix." It still felt weird having his name roll off her tongue. For the past few months, she's only heard him referred to as Mr.anderson, but she kinda liked it.

Getting back into her morning routine, Skye got a taxi to take her to the cafe that was near the office and started to order the coffee's that the people she worked with wanted. She might be fake engaged to her boss, but she still wanted to impress those she worked with. Wanting them to be kind and see that she was still hard work.

Felix watched as Skye head out of the kitchen before going back to his morning cup of coffee. Once he was finished, he put the cup in the sink before making his way out of the house and towards work. When he arrived, there was only one other person in the office. It would take some time before it completely filled up as there was a rather large window of when everyone arrived but Felix wasn't all that concerned about it. As long as everyone got their work done and their hours in, it didn't matter.

He headed into his office and closed the door behind him, not wanting to be disturbed for the few minutes he had before the meeting. Five minutes later, he was walking out with his laptop and some papers, heading into the meeting room where the others were already waiting for him. Once he headed in, he welcomed everyone as he closed the door before they got started.

It was hours until Felix headed out of the conference room with the guests. Though when they were coming out, everyone was smiling and laughing at this and that. Felix shook their heads before showing them to the elevator, thanking them for their time and that he was pleased they were able to make a deal. The guests agreed and assured Felix he would see more of them soon before they headed on their way.

As Felix turned and started to head towards his office, he glanced around and was pleased that everyone was there and working. Though he also noticed the looks coming from others, how quick that some looked away when he glanced in their direction. He was rather sure that the news must have spread along the office about the engagement. As he headed back into his office, he wondered how Skye was doing with all of it.

Water cooler gossip. You see it all the time in old movies or tv shows. Never had Skye thought that people would actually do that. There Skye was, just getting a cup of water after having run a few errands for the office when two of her co-workers that she's never talked to came up to her. One Skye faintly remembered being named Becky, and the other she couldn't remember at all. Both girls didn't hide their interest in the least bit because as soon as Skye swallowed her water, she got bombarded with questions. Is it true you're engaged to Mr.Anderson? How did you meet him? How long have you been together? How did he propose? Can we see the ring? A few other personal questions.

While it's nice to have some friendly faces to talk to, Skye really wasn't sure how openly she wanted to flaunt everything. So, she just answered a few of them. Telling her co-workers that yes she was engaged and showing them the ring that Felix got for her. As well as telling them that it's true that they've only been together for a few months, but they don't plan to get ready till sometime next year anyway. The girls weren't really happy that Skye wasn't giving up more juicy gossip, but they accepted her few answers. Thankfully.

While the rest of the morning was packed with filing papers for the office, and running mediocre errands. As it got closer to lunchtime it got a little calmer. Probably because people were more interested in food. Raising her bright green eyes as the doors to the meeting room on the other side of the office opened, Skye watched as the executives from other companies left. Her gaze following Felix as he walked them to the elevator. Then, not wanting to be caught staring, Skye ducked her head a little bit, a light blush on her cheeks.

Waiting a couple more minutes, Skye waited for the office to quiet down a bit as people left for lunch before she stood up. Skye tried to not seem so shy as she strode to Mr.Andrews office and knocked on his door. Once Skye got the okay to come in, She opened the door slightly and peeked her head into his office. "Hey, are you ready for lunch? Or, do you want me to bring something here?"

As Felix parked the car, he glanced over at Skye with soft eyes. The truth was, he wished the drive to the gala would have been a lot shorter. They ended up getting stuck in some traffic and he was sure that Skye didn't appreciate his small bit of road rage... But there was nothing much that he could do about it now and he was hoping that they could both have a good time tonight.

Felix glanced off to the large building, seeing all of the lights and some people head towards it with their expensive gowns. At least Skye should fit in. He had made sure to get her something appropriate and a gala like this would welcome kind-hearted people, which she was. Sliding out of the car, Felix walked over to her side and opened up the door before offering his assistance to help her out. Once Skye was on her feet, he held out his arm for her to take.

"I promise that it is going to be a good night." Felix whispered gently before leaning over and pressing a light kiss against her forehead. He was mostly doing it for himself, to remind himself to be a bit more lovey-dovey with his fake fiancee. Though he was sure that Skye would appreciate the gesture considering how nervous she had been when they were getting ready. "And, just a reminder, we might be seeing my brother here as well."

With that being said, Felix started to lead her towards the gala.

A small sigh escaped from Skye as Felix finally pulled into a parking spot. Halfway to the venue, he had erupted in some mild rage at some drivers who's car broke down switching lanes. Thus, making the traffic even worst. So, in retaliation, she had given him the silent treatment and ignored any sort of small talk that Felix tried to throw her way.

Although, looking up towards the building that the gala is being held at. All of Skye's annoyance with Felix seemed to vanish. Her nerves instead of returning with a rush, caused her stomach to do a couple of flips. "Thanks," Skye mumbled quietly as she accepted Felix's help out of the car. As the beautiful gown that she was wearing made getting in and out of the car a little hard to do. "Your brother... Vincent, correct?" Skye asked as she accepted Felix's arm and leaned into his side slightly. A small smile playing across her lips as she looked up towards Felix as she waited for his reply.

Then, she looked forward as they started to walk towards the building. The butterflies that she was feeling in her stomach were still fluttering, but. With Felix so close to her, she tried to relax. He's been to a bunch of galas before, so he'll know how to get them out of any weird situations, Right? Right.

Once inside, Skye couldn't help the small wow that escaped under her breath. The Roswell was the hotel that was hosting the gala for tonight. It was one of the most glamorous hotels in the state, maybe even the country. With its rich decorations, furniture that was placed off to the sides for people to sit and converse, and the crystal chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. It was just so amazing. "This place is beautiful." Skye murmured as she tightened her hold on Felix's arm for a moment, before relaxing.

Felix visibly relaxed once Skye started to speak to him once again. Since she had managed to last the whole car ride without saying a word to him, he had feared that she would do the same once they were at the gala. Though it appeared that any anger had left her or in the least, she was willing to pretend not to be angry for both of their sakes. While Felix preferred it to be the first option, he would take either. This was an important night with his brother being there and everything. So he wanted Skye to be her best.

"Yes, my brother Vincent." Felix verified. "He is sure to give us a hard time, as you can recall me mentioning the reasons that I told you. Though do not let it bother you as most of it will be pointed at me. He will just be upset that he didn't think about doing this first." Felix then shook his head a bit at it. He had warned Skye that Vincent was sure to be upset about the news as it would mean that Felix had 'won'. Though, the truth was either of them winning would be both of them winning.

Once they were inside, Felix lead her over to the coat check so they could both drop off their items before going into the mall ball area. The actual gala was as luxurious as one would think when millionaires and billionaires came together to donate. Almost the moment they walked into the room, a caterer came up and offered them a glass of wine, which Felix took. His eyes glanced off to the silent auction that was being held in another room.

"We should participate in the auction now before we forget," Felix told her as he led her over to the room. "We are going to want to make sure that we win one thing even if we have to overpay for it."

As the caterer came towards them, Skye offered the man a small smile as she took the drink. Then, she glanced up towards Felix as she took a sip of the wine. Her eyes widening a little bit at how smooth the wine was. Usually, it wasn't really Skye's cup of tea, but this stuff tasted amazing. "Oh wow, this is good." Skye murmured quietly as she glanced at the half-full glass in her hand.

"How many items do they usually auction off?" Skye asked as she followed after Felix. Making sure to stand close to him once they entered the auction room. Looking towards the stage that was set up for the event, Skye watched as people raised their hands to bid on things. "You know, I wouldn't mind a pretty painting for my birthday," Skye said quietly and battered her eyelashes up towards Felix. Then, a small giggle escaped from her as she shook her head no and mouthed no thank you so that he knew she was joking.

The item that was on the stage when Skye and Felix had sold and they were preparing the next item. A beautiful sapphire necklace was brought out in a velvet case. The small diamonds that decorated around the sapphires shine beautifully. "Woah." Skye murmured quietly, entranced by the beautiful necklace. Her lips parted in awe as the auctioneer spoke about the gems that were used to make the necklace.

Realizing that she was staring at the necklace, Skye quickly glanced away and took a couple more sips of her wine. The amounts that people were offering for the necklace was more than the rent for two years for her apartment. It was astounding how people could offer that sort of money on things. Even if the necklace was beautiful.

Felix held Skye closer to him as they moved into the auction area, not wanting to lose her in the crowd. Also, he didn't want any of these men to get the wrong idea and think she was single or some sugar baby. Although he had no right to, Felix could feel himself growing protective of her. So he kept Skye close as they headed through.

"They auction off a lot," Felix told her, unable to be more descriptive than that. "Everything has been donated and this is the kind of thing that people with a lot of money and influence like to do. Donate something big and flashy to show off and then buy something even bigger and flashier if they can. They get to do something nice while also getting the chance of receiving something they want. And it looks bad on you if you don't buy or donate something large."

As he spoke, he noticed that Skye's attention was focusing on a sapphire necklace. It was very obvious that she was entranced by the thing. Glancing over, he laid his own eyes on it. It was rather beautiful but Felix didn't have a personal need for such a necklace. Though he could easily buy it for Skye and consider himself down with the auction.

Without much thought, Felix turned towards the auctioneer and started to bid on the necklace. Every time someone tried to outbid hi, he would come back with a much higher number.

Pursing her lips together, Skye slowly nodded her head. Understanding what he was talking about. He was telling her that rich people liked trading with each other. Showing off their wealth and seeing who could compete with them, and making those that can't, feel bad. Power was in money after all, and these people all seemed like they had it or wanted it. They were the game-changers in the world.

So, when Felix started to bid on the necklace that she had been looking at. A cold shiver ran down Skye's spine. She had no idea that he'd bid on it. It wasn't in the contract for them to buy each other things. This necklace was way more than her college tuition ever was, or will be. "Felix..." Skye started to protest, feeling a little shy about the whole thing. When the auctioneer called outsold and pointed right at Felix, meaning that he had been the one to win the necklace. Thankfully, it wasn't too high, the lower half of a couple of grand. Still too much for Skye's taste, but she wasn't going to argue. Not here at least. This was an auction to raise money after all.

In response to hearing that Felix won the necklace, Skye stood up on her tippy toes and pressed a quick peck to his cheek. "Congrats." She said, voice a little teasing as she spoke. Then, out of the corner of her eye. Something caught her attention and as she did so, a large grin appeared on Skye's lips. "Danny!" Skye called out, seeing her first friend when she moved to New York. The guy was supposedly a photographer and often asked Skye to model for him. To which she'd decline, but did take up his offer to grab drinks a few times.

Letting go of Felix for a brief moment and then grabbing onto his hand, Skye pulled him towards her friend. Who unknown to her, stiffened when he laid eyes on Felix. "I didn't know you'd be here! Did your company send you here to take pictures of the auction?" Skye asked grinning as she spoke to him. "Oh!" Skye murmured, glancing up towards Felix. "Felix, this is my friend Danny, he's the one who showed me around New York when I first moved here." She explained, happiness filling her as she introduced her fake fiance to her first friend here. Then, at the quiet tense atmosphere that seemed to settle in the group, Skye looked at the guys in confusion. "What's wrong?" she asked, looking back and forth in confusion.

A light smile came along Felix's face as Skye kissed the side of his cheek. It was nice, even if it was only for show. Though just as quickly as it occurred, it was over and Skye was moving onto the next thing. He glanced down at the woman as she called out to someone. Danny? He didn't know a Danny. Though, there were enough people here that Felix wouldn't know. But he was surprised that Skye knew anyone outside of him. Not that Skye couldn't have many friends of different kinds but... well this was a party for the elite and it seemed to him that she was the first of that category she had.

Even so, once Skye took his hand again, Felix followed her. He supposed he would find out whoever this man was. Though once his eyes land on the man she called Danny, a deep frown came over his face. This was not going to be good. His eyes glanced back down at Skye for a moment. It was clear she had no idea. That was even worse.

His eyes shifted back to the man in front of him, hardening as he stared at him. He could hear the confusion in Skye's voice and it only upset the man more. "Since you didn't have the decency to be honest, I will be for you." Felix glanced down at Skye, squeezing her hand gently as he did so. "This man is not Danny and he certainly is not some photographer. He is my brother."

Felix then turned back to the man with a sneer on his face. "It sounds like you already have met my fiancee, Skye."

At first, Vincent was glaring back at Felix, not appreciating what was occurring. Though as Felix told Skye the truth, he looked down at her with worried eyes. This was certainly not what he wanted to happen. And he didn't want this to ruin their current relationship. But the moment Felix mentioned that they were engaged, a sneer moved back along his face.

A look of surprise appeared on Skye's face as she looked between Felix and who she thought was her friend Danny. The same guy who showed her around New York after almost hitting her with his motorcycle when she just got to the city. The guy she went out with almost every Friday to go to happy hour at a little club on the south side. At least, they did til he started getting busy. Telling her that he was getting busy with work.

Realizing that she had been standing and staring at Danny, Vincent for the past couple of moments without saying anything. Skye opened her mouth and said the only logical thing that came to her mind. "What?" Her bright green eyes glanced between the two men, her breath seeming to catch as she started to see some family resemblance between the two of them. The eye color and shape, their hair color. Felix seemed a little bit taller and more muscular, while vincent seemed leaner.

Blinking, Skye shook her head. Now wasn't the time to be thinking about how similar the brothers looked. "Y-you lied to me," Skye mumbled quietly, then flinched and took a step back as Vincent turned his sneer towards her. "You're not the only ones telling lies you know," Vincent said as his eyes narrowed at Skye. "So this is your plan, huh. Big brother." Vincent looked back up towards Felix, a snort accommodating his appraisal of the slightly older Anderson.

"Conning a naive girl into helping you." Vincent scoffed and shook his head. "Despicable, just wait til father hears about this. He'll lose his shit."

Felix was quick to grab onto Vincent's arm as he sneered at Skye. He was not going to allow that. Holding onto him tightly, he forced his brother back a few steps, his eyes narrowing hard as he looked at him. A light growl leaving his lips as he did so. "Don't be cruel to her just because you were caught in a lie that is now biting you in the ass. You should have thought about that before you decided pretend that you're someone you're not."

His grip tightened on him and he forced Vincent another step back. Though, as he did so, Vincent started to ball his hands into fists before he reached up and grabbed onto Felix's suit. But Vincent continued. "You tell father about this and it is going to be a long slippier road of truths I don't think you want to go down. We have plenty of dirt on each other to ensure both of us get nothing. At least I am trying to ensure that we both get what we deserve at the end of it. At least I am trying to protect what we have been working on for years."

With that, Felix shoved Vincent away but with Vincent still holding onto Felix, they both stumbled along. It took a few moments of cold, hard glares but eventually, Felix let go of Vincent's suit and took a few steps back. "If you are mad, take it out on me but Skye has done nothing wrong. She is assisting in the short term. Besides you should be happy that I thought of a plan while you go out and about to fuck around. Nothing intelligent comes out of that brain of yours does it?"

Vincent stepped forward as though he was about to punch Felix square in the jaw but managed to stop himself. While there wasn't a circle or anything of the sort around them, they were beginning to catch other's attention. Something that neither of them wanted. Vincent stepped back, his hands still balled up tightly. "Don't think that this is resolved." He then turned his attention to Skye, a hard glare over his face for a moment before he turned to leave.
