Maverick only yanked off the mask from Mel's face when she agreed to come with him. He smirked as he stared down at her, wordlessly undoing the cuffs on her wrists with a key he kept in his pocket. He shoved it back inside, his fingers wrapping around Mel's arm. He dragged her up, shoving her in front of him. "I do not like to repeat myself so don't make me.." he paused, clearing his throat. He waited until he had her full, undivided attention. "You try to run, you try anything funny, we will not hesitate to kill you. Understand me?" He growled the words, pulling his rifle up. He shoved the muzzle of it into her back, nodding toward the door that they had come through.
"Go on. Don't want to sit here too long, do we? We won't protect you," Maverick ground out, having already replaced the mask over his face. Maverick led the way out of the experiment room, wasting no time in retreating back to the choppers that had landed and were waiting for them to make a getaway.
Maverick nodded to the open door, fixing Melek with a hard glare. "Get in. Or get left behind. I don't care," he stated simply, climbing in. When Melek climbed in, he was quick to reach forward and secure her seatbelt. He sneered as he lifted a black bag, dragging it over her head.
"I don't want to hear a single sound out of you, Melek," her words were all but purred, a smirk settling on his face as he settled back in his seat. "I'm going to be very honest with you. Your time will be a lot easier if you decide to give up the information that my bosses demand from you. I'm certainly not going to risk my head for you, sweetheart."
It was all a farce, of course, but Maverick wasn't going to let her know that. He wasn't going to let her know that he was the one wholly in charge of this mission. A looming threat over her head was good, Maverick thought. Unless he was given another reason to tell her the truth.
