Tao was shaking as he ran up Kris’s drive and banged on the door. Blood was covering his hands, shirt and face. Tears were mixing with the dark liquid staining his cheeks as he sobbed and begged his friend to open the door, ‘please Kris. Please open the door. Please,’ he was scared. He didn’t know what to do. He just killed somebody. He killed his boyfriend in self defense but he was still scared.

Kris groaned when he heard someone banging on his door. He looked at the time, a little after 2 am. He got up and pulled his sweat pants on as he shuffled towards his front door, ready to yell at whoever was on the other side.

“Buddy, do you know what ti” He was cut off by someone throwing themselves onto him. Kris fell back and landed on the ground but the person didn’t remove themselves from him.

Kris eventually got out from under them, ready to call the police, until he realized it was Tao. “Tao? What the hell happened?” He asked, seeing the younger boy covered in blood.

‘I killed him...m-my boyfriend. He tried to kill me and I killed him. I don’t know what to do,’ he told his friend, his voice cracking, tears and blood running down his cheeks. He was visibly shaking. He couldn’t stop. His voice had a stutter to it as he forced the words out.

Kris hadn’t seen Tao in over six years, ever since they left EXO and Tao rejected the older who confessed he was in love with the younger. He was still salty over the whole situation, but he also felt bad, seeing Tao so shaken up.

He stood and closed and locked his door before helping Tao up and taking him to the bathroom to get him cleaned up.

Tao was still shaking and crying as Kris led him into his master bathroom inside his bedroom to clean him up. He wasn’t much use. Kris did much of the work. He kept seeing the events of the evening.

“Tell me what happened.” Kris said, as he ran the bath and then looked over at Tao. “I’ll leave if you want to get undressed and get in the tub..” he said.

‘I have been dating this guy for a few years now and at first he was nice. He was there for me when I needed him. He was an amazing guy and then he just turned into a monster. He started getting angry over everything, beating me. He tried to kill me earlier and I managed to kill him before he could kill me,’ Tao stuttered as he spoke, forcing the words out.

Kris felt bad for him, he did, but at the same time he didn’t really care. He wouldn’t say that though. “Why did you come to me? You stopped talking to me after you rejected me...plus, I figured you would forget where I lived..”

‘I had nobody else. I had nowhere else to go and I’m sorry. I’m sorry for everything,’ Tao told him, looking at the ground. He knew he had no right to even be here, to be asking his old friend for help. He stood up on wobbly legs, ‘I’m sorry,’ he told him before stumbling out of the bathroom, fresh tears spilling down his cheeks.

Kris walked after him, grabbing his arm, “Tao stop. Listen, let’s forget what happened before, okay? You can’t go walking around Hong Kong covered in blood, you want the police to find you?” He asked the younger.

When he didn’t reply, Kris pulled him back into the bathroom and began taking his bloodied shirt off and then grabbing a wet rag to wipe the blood off of his face. “You can stay with me, okay?”

Tao nodded and didn’t say anything else as Kris started to clean all the blood off of his hands, arms, neck and face. Once he was done, he threw the bloodied rag into the trash bin. He stayed frozen in place. He didn’t move an inch as the older got some things for Tao to take a bath.

Kris looked at him, “I’ll find you some clothes, I laid out a towel for you, body wash and shampoo are right there, do you need anything else?” He asked his old friend.

‘Thankyou and no Thankyou,’ he told his friend. Once Kris left the bathroom, he got into the tub and sat there for an hour without moving, although to him it felt like hours. He didn’t even move to clean himself until he heard a knock outside the bathroom door and heard Kris start talking to him.

“Tao? Are you okay?” Kris asked before opening the door. He frowned when he saw him just sitting there, blood still coating his hair and other parts of his body. Kris walked over and kneeled down before grabbing the sprayer and turned it on, so he could wash the younger up.

‘I’m sorry...’ he trailed off as he stared down at the dirty bloody water. He let Kris wash the blood out of his hair and wash his body before he turned the water out and pulled out the plug to let the water drain out.

“Stop apologizing. You said you killed him in self defense, and I believe you.” Kris said. Now that Tao was washed off, Kris could see various bruises and even scars from what looked like knife wounds and maybe even a gun shot wound to his shoulder. “Who was he?” He asked as he dried Tao off.

‘He was a guy I met when I came back home. We instantly clicked and started to meet up as friends. That turned into romantic feelings and then we started dating. He was amazing but then I woke up, the dream faded away and reality set in. He became a monster and started to abuse me. Suho. That was what people called him but his name was Kim Jun-myeon.’

Kris frowned as he listened to his story. “I’m sorry, Zitao.” Kris said, using Tao’s real name. He helped him get dressed. “What happened tonight?” He asked, sitting down on his king size bed with the younger.

‘I came home late from work. I told him I would be home early because I thought I was going to be and my manager piled some extra stuff on my schedule so I was late and Suho thought I was cheating on him so he stated to hit me. I tried getting away from him but he grabbed a knife and tried to stab me. I managed to get the knife away from him but he grabbed something else and cornered me. I had no choice...I had no choice...’
