Hangovers were a bitch and they were even worse when you woke up with one after a one night stand on the wrong side of town. Ginger was walking down the street looking like a woman of the night, holding her heels in one hand and rubbing her head with the other. It was so early that most people would still consider it late; 3 am.
Strange loud men loitered the street corners, hanging outside the front of gas stations and liquor stores. Hookers and prostitutes could be seen down the alleyways between buildings, a couple strutting around under the street lights. Ginger ignored them, until she heard loud commotion and crying from an alley to her right. Looking down the dark and damp aisle, behind the dumpster she could see two large men attacking a smaller woman.
At first Ginger thought it might've been a hooker that had gotten in over her head, but her curiosity got the better over her and as she took a few steps closer she could tell the girl definitely wasn't dressed like a prostitute. And the men appeared to be nuzzling near her neck?
"Hey!" Ginger called, trying to get them off of her, pulling a pocket knife from her clutch bag.
Brian and Matt had been skulking around in the darkness all night, so far they were up to victim number three and a young dark haired woman taking a shortcut to somewhere seemed to be victim number four. Brian followed her around a street corner until they were coming up on a little gap between two businesses.
"Ma'am?" He raised a hand trying to get her attention. The back of his mouth was positively burning, feeling like a fire had been started in the base of his throat. He could smell the blood of every person within fifty feet of him. The moment she stopped, Brian moved faster than she could blink, shoving her down the alley, and continuing to push her until she tripped behind the dumpster. Matt dashed up behind him, running faster than what seemed humanly possible.
Brian looked down at the frightened girl, hoping and praying that after he drank from her he would feel some relief. How many people would be have to drink dry before he could control himself? Jumping towards her throat, feeling his fangs grow longer, he was centimeters away from penetrating her delectable flesh until he heard a scream.
In fear of a real threat, he stumbled backwards and looked up at the new little stranger. Brian laughed at the girl, not caring when she a pulled out a knife. "Oh, I'm so scared." He teased before turning his attention back to Cora.
