"I can't shake these midnight thoughts when I'm alone, Latching to my brain and never letting go, So I'll start making friends with the noise in my head." Aelia sang at the top of her voice as the music played from the CD player. Her mother's lips were pursed as she listened to her daughter's singing. Doing her best to not laugh at her horrible dancing in her seat.
It's been a rough couple of months. The passing of Aelia's father had hit them both hard as it was unexpected. So, her mom thought it would be good to just pick up and move. To start over in a new town, with new people, and without the sorrowful stares, they'd get when they went out. As the car pulled to a stop in front of a cute, quaint little
house, Aelia's singing and dancing stopped. "This is our new house?" Lia asked as she glanced at her mom. To which the woman turned the car off and opened the back passenger door. "Yup." The woman said as she started to grab some boxed. "Huh." Was Lia's follow up as she slowly followed her mother's suit and started to get to work on unpacking the car.
Although as soon as Lia stepped out of the car, a weird sense of being watched swept over the young girl. Pausing in her spot, Aelia looked around slowly, trying to figure out what the feeling was, but nothing jumped out at her. "Come on, these boxes aren't going to unpack themselves." Lia's mom called out as she opened the front door. "Coming," Lia called back, glancing around once more before grabbing a box and heading into the house.

The light breeze washed over Matt, bringing with it the scent of the humans and wolves that mingled on the street. The dominate species being able to blend in amazingly well with the lesser. A trick they had learned many years ago. Something that still holds strong with the current regime. No one wanted to know what lurked in the dark after all.
"Here's your coffee Mr.Damien." A petite little thing said as she placed the coffee onto the white-clothed table that Matt was sat in front of. Barely tearing his gaze away from the people walking below the balcony, Matt offered the girl a small nod of acknowledgment. "I-Is there anything else I could get you?" The young she-wolf stuttered, it was kinda cute, but Matt wasn't in the mood to deal with cute. So, shifting his gaze to the girl. Matt watched as the girl lowered her gaze immediately out of respect for the Alpha. "No." Was his simple answer before looking back towards the people walking below.
Matt Damien, Pack Alpha, Mafia boss, owner of one of the most popular restaurants in the fucking city. He was many things, and everyone knew not to mess with him. Human and wolf. Not a single thing went down in the city that Matt didn't already know about. So, how? How the hell did he miss something so threatening? He could smell them from miles away, his wolf's senses have been going haywire since he first smelled it. Another wolf was moving onto his territory without his knowledge.
