New Starts ||Closed RP||

After unpacking her stuff in her new apartment. She grabbed the boxes and her keys before walking out and going down to throw the boxes into the dumpster. Paige walked to the car and got in and drove into town. As she drove, the car started making a strange noise. Seeing a sign for a garage, Paige drove towards in and pulled into the lot. Parking her car, she walked towards the office. “Excuse me? My car just started making this noise, is there anyway someone could look at it?” Paige asked, seeing a man with dirty blonde hair and a woman with long dark hair. The woman looked at her, “Sure, Jackson here will help you.”

Happy was on his way back to Charming from Tacoma. The Tacoma charter needed his help with a few things and Happy was more than willing to go out. Any oppportunity he had to ride, he was going to take. It gave him the chance to view the scenery. Seeing the sign for Charming come into view, Happy smiled to himself. He drove through town and pulled in at TM. Parking his bike, he got off it and walked toward the clubhouse. Once he was inside, Happy sat down at the bar and got a beer. Being back at home, Happy was looking forward to getting back into his routine.

Jax had been talking about the house work that they were doing in his home with his mom when a dark haired woman stepped into the office. Jax smiled and listened to her. He walked with her over to her car after his mom had offered his help. He looked her over, knowing that this was the first time that he had ever seen her. It wasn’t common to see new faces in Charming since it wasn’t that big of a town. As they got closer to the car, he reminded himself that he had a job to do and not check out the client. “So what’s it doing? Or not doing for that matter?” he asked as he went towards the hood of the car, ready to look at the engine. He listened to her description of what was going on.

Elyza stared around that her new apartment, seeing the broken down boxes and the boxes that still needed to be unpacked. Her stomach was growling, and she hadn’t even thought about grocery shopping yet. She remembered seeing a little diner in town and decided that place would be fine. She went down to her car and got in. When it took a few tries to get it to start, she knew that she was beyond pushing her luck when it came to avoiding the mechanic. She had been pushing her car to go for as long as she could before fixing it. Elyza saw a sign for a garage and decided that she might as well stop and go ahead and do what she had been avoiding. She saw someone ahead of her and sighed hoping that it wouldn’t be too long before it was her turn.

Paige lead him to her car, “It just started making this popping noise and I know absolutely nothing about cars.” She laughed softly, watching as he went towards the hood. Paige opened the door and pulled the latch to pop the hood for him. All she could hope for at the moment was that it wouldn’t be too expensive to fix. After moving half-way across the country, Paige didn’t have a whole lot of extra money laying around. Paige had saved just enough to get her by for a month or two in case she had trouble finding a job. She took a step back and watched as he looked at her car.

Happy had just finished his drink when he heard one of the guys talking about a couple cars out front. He got up and walked outside, seeing Jax was already looking at the first car. Happy walked over to the other girl’s car, “Hey, I can look at your car. What is it doing?” He asked as he walked to the front of the car by the hood. Normally he wouldn’t be out working on a car, but seeing that everyone else was busy he figured he could help out.

Jax looked into the car, seeing what’s wrong immediately. He looked up to see her worried. He could only imagine what was going through her head, and he was betting how much this would cost. Knowing what was wrong, Jax knew that it wouldn’t be too hard of a fix. He looked over at her. “Well, it should only take about forty-five minutes to an hour at most,” he said, knowing it wouldn’t be an hour. “It’ll be an easy fix.” He straightened back up. He smiled and shrugged. “I don’t know what you have planned today, so you can either wait around or I can let you borrow a phone for a taxi.”

Elyza looked at the guy who had come up and smiled. He looked like he was all serious and all about getting things done. She shook the thought out of her head. She had just moved to a new town, and she really didn’t need to worry about things like that. “I think it may have something to do with the starter. It takes several tries to get it to start, and sometimes it will idle out,” she said. Her father had taught her a few things about cars, but she didn’t really know how to fix them. “Then there will be times that it will start just fine though those times are getting scarce.” She didn’t want to admit that she had taken so long to bring it in. But she was really hoping that it could have waited until she got a job. After up and moving in the matter of a day, she didn’t have a lot of funds set back.

Paige was relieved when he said it would only be an hour at most. The last thing she wanted was to be without a car for a long time. “I think I’ll just wait here as long as that’s alright,” Paige said. She grabbed her phone from the car and looked at him, “Thank you, so much.” Paige left her keys in the ignition and found one of the picnic tables and sat down. Scrolling through her phone, Paige was looking for any job openings that she would be able to apply for and start making some money.

Happy nodded as he listened to her talk about the car, “Let me see what I can do.” He smiled slightly, opening her door and turning the key as he listened to the car. Happy grabbed a crowbar and found the starter, he tapped it a couple times before going to turn the key again. When it started, Happy turned to look at her, “You’re right, that starter is shot. I’ll pull it into the garage and get it changed. It’s going to take a few hours, you can either wait here or borrow my phone and call a cab.”

Jax smiled as he got the car into the garage. As he went to work on the car, he kept finding his eyes wondering over to her. He couldn’t help his curiosity when it came to her. She was beautiful, and she was here in Charming. He redirected his attention back to the car and went about doing his job. He noticed Happy talking to some other girl. It was another new face, and that made him even more curious about the newcomer.

Elyza thought about his offer not knowing what to do. As much as she knew that she was hungry, she didn’t really know if she should stick around or just head out. She smiled. “I think I’ll just wait here for a bit,” she replied with a nervous smile. She didn’t know why her nerves hit her all of a sudden, but she pushed past them as best as she could. She went over to one of the picnic tables and pulled out her phone, deciding to see what all was in this town to do and work at.

Paige managed to find a couple job openings, she smiled as she put her phone down for a minute. She glanced over at the garage and could see him working on her car. Paige realized that she never caught his name, she knew she’d have to find out before her car was done. Hearing her phone ring, she grabbed it, noticing the number, Paige quickly ignored it. Putting her phone down on the table, she ran a hand through her hair.

“Alright, I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done,” Happy said as he got in and drove it to the garage. He got out and looked over at Jax working on the other girl’s car. Happy turned his attention back to the car and went over to grab the tools he would need at the moment. Luckily, they had a couple starters sitting around the garage and one of them would work for her car. He grabbed the new starter and sat it down next to the car before he started working.

Jax sighed and wiped his hands off as he smiled at his work. It had honestly didn’t take as long as he had thought, but then again some of the screws were loose. He looked over at Paige as she ran a hand through her hair. He could tell that something was up. As he walked over to where she was, he wondered if something was wrong. “Hey, you okay?” Jax asked. He didn’t think she would be honest with him, but he didn’t like the look of worry in her face. “The car is done.”

Elyza smiled and watched the guy going to work on her car. She went through her phone looking for places to work. It was long before she found a couple of places to apply. After a few minutes, she was watching the cars drive by. There wasn’t much traffic, but there was some. A little more than she expected. When a car that looked familiar, she began to panic. She didn’t know how he had found her here so soon. It wasn’t until she saw the license plate that she sighed with relief.

Paige was surprised when she heard his voice, “Oh.” She jumped slightly, “I’m just overwhelmed I guess, moving here and all this stuff happening.” She stood up, “Thank you...” Paige paused, “I never got your name.” She smiled, “How much do I owe you?” She reached into her purse to grab her money. Paige waited to find out how much it would cost.

Happy took out the old starter and put the new one in before bringing the car out of the garage. He pulled the car over by her and got out. He raised an eyebrow when he saw a look of what seemed to be panic cross her face. As he got closer to her, he handed the keys back, “Here, cars all done. Don’t worry about paying for it, we had a starter laying around that we ended up not needing.”

Jax shook his head. “Nothing today. It was an easy fix, so it’s no big deal,” he said with a warm smile. He knew that moving could be overwhelming, but he could only wonder if that was it. He smiled at her and added, “Consider it a welcome to Charming gift.” In all honesty, he was thankful for the distraction with everything that he was dealing with himself and to have it off his mind for a few minutes was nice.

Elyza took the keys from him and smiled. “Are you sure?” she asked. She didn’t want to offend him by turning his gift down, but she knew that he had worked on her car and appeared to get the job done well. Besides, people had to make a living to take care of themselves. “You took the time to work on it,” she pointed out.

“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it,” Paige told him. She couldn’t help taking a moment to look him over. He was handsome, she had to admit that, but after the hell she just went through, anything more than friends was the last thing on her mind. She put her money back into her purse and slid her phone into her pocket. Holding out her hand to him, she smiled, “I’m Paige by the way.”

Happy nodded, “I didn’t have anything else to do so it’s no problem, really.” Since he hadn’t seen her before and Charming was a small town, he knew she was new to the area. Remembering the look on her face earlier, Happy thought she might be going through some problems. The last thing she needed was a bill for her car. “I’m sure you’ve got better things to spend your money on,” he smiled at her.

Jax smiled and took her hand. “Well, I’m glad that I could help you out, and I’m Jax,” he replied warmly. The look of panic wasn’t on her face anymore, and it was nice to hope that he had a part in that. “And I’m assuming that you are new to Charming, so I’m going to be the first to say it’s nice to have you here in Charming,” he said.

Elyza smiled. “I’m sure that I could find something,” she joked lightly. She looked him over and took in the tattoos and the hard appearance. There was just something about him that she was intrigued by. “I’m Elyza by the way, and I appreciate you taking the time to work on my car,” she said. She could almost hug him for doing it for free. She knew that if she got the chance to repay him back for this she would.

Paige smiled, “It’s nice to meet you.” She laughed softly when mentioned her being new to Charming, “Yeah, I actually just got to town yesterday. Just finished unpacking today.” She looked at him again, “It’s nice to be here. It seems like a nice place.”

“I’m Happy,” he told her. He was waiting for the normal reaction, no one seemed to believe that could be his real name. “It wasn’t any problem, really,” Happy said. He smiled slightly, “I’m guessing you’re new to town so welcome to Charming.”

“As they say, it’s all in the name,” Jax joked. He had to admire that she had her stuff unpacked in a day. He had never been that organized when it came to moving out of his parents home and into his own home. “And I like to think that it’s kind of true.”

Elyza smiled, learning his name. It was a little strange for him because he didn’t seem to smile a lot, and yet it still seemed to work for him. “I love the name,” she admitted out loud. “And thank you. I’m really liking it out here so far. I had gotten in late last afternoon, and I have pretty much everything unpacked except for two boxes.”

Paige laughed softly in response, “Hopefully this place is a good fit, I don’t want to have to move again.” She ran hand through her hair, “I should probably get going, I’m hoping to find a job within the next few days.” Paige smiled, “Thank you again for fixing my car.”

Happy laughed softly, “Thanks, it’s not exactly a normal name.” He nodded, “Well, if you’re ever looking for something to do or someone to show you around, give me a call.” Happy grabbed a piece of paper of the small notepad he had in his pocket and wrote his number down before handing it to her. He knew it was forward, but he wasn’t one to beat around the bush.

Jax nodded. “You’re welcome,” he said. He knew that he wanted to see her again. “Hey, how about I give you my number and if you want someone to show you around town, you can always call me,” he suggested. He knew he was being a little forward, but he was never one to just sit back and miss a chance.

Elyza nodded and said, “I’ll definitely keep that in mind. I’m sure that you are great company.” She liked that he was being forward with her. It was honestly a little bit of a turn on for her. She smiled at him as she started to walk towards her car. “And thank you for working on my car.”

“That would be great,” Paige said as she pulled out her phone and handed it to him. She couldn’t help thinking it would be nice to have someone show her around. It seemed like Jax was an okay guy and Paige couldn’t help wanting to get to know him. Once she got her phone back, she smiled, “Thanks again.” She started walking towards her car.

Happy watched as she walked towards her car, he was hoping to hear from her soon. “It was no problem, really,” Happy assured her again as she reached her car, “Hopefully I’ll hear from you soon.” He told her before going back to the garage and helping some of the guys with other cars.

Jax quickly put his number into her phone, making sure he didn’t put in any typos. He looked forward to know her and seeing her around. She seemed to be a sweet girl. “It was no problem,” he replied. “I hope to hear from you soon.” He watched as she walked over to her car before he turned back and went back to the garage.

Elyza smiled, knowing that she would send him a message. She couldn’t wait to spend time around Happy and get to know him. He appeared like a interesting guy and seemed to have a good head on his shoulders. And she was hoping that she was right about that.
