Clark could feel her heart racing he could hear it pretty well too, she was a little frighten. He could imagine though, he didn’t blame her his first time taking flight was weird. It brought a sense of peace now that he enjoyed a lot. “I’m sorry I should have given a warning. I forget not everyone is used to flying” he chuckled softly. “Especially open like this.” Clark could smell the floral frangeante it was nice.

As he flew to his friend’s place Clark made sure to make Tess feel warm and safe. “Flying is not as terrifying when you’re doing it in your own terms it’s why I’m so comfortable with it I suppose. I won’t let you fall.” Kal promised, as he landed in Smallville, “you ever been to Smallville?” He asked.

"Smallville?" She repeated to him, as she looked around. They had completely left Metropolis? "No, I've never been here before." She looked up at the house they had landed at and she began to get to get nervous. "Where are we?"

She instantly felt a bit of worry in her gut. Surely, she didn't have to be afraid of a superhero? She couldn't help be anyway, he was still a strange man to her, capable of doing anything. And she was just an rat off of the street.

Clark can feel the uneasiness she, and completely understood why she would be nervous around a man she didn’t know. Clark would never put his hands on a woman, he hated to see men treated women awful and had to
Hold himself way back when he did see domestic violence. “It’s a small town, it’s peaceful really.”

“I won’t hurt you I promise, I’m not like that, I just figured I’d bring you to a quieter place to relax and this is place is pretty peaceful.” He has gotten a hold of his cousin Kara. “My cousin lives here, she should be at home, maybe she’ll make you feel more comfortable “

Tess rubbed her arm in a way to comfort herself as she followed Kal towards the house. This definitely wasn't what she had expected, but she supposed anything was better than sleeping in a warehouse in winter. "Does she have superpowers, too?" Tess couldn't help but poke at Kal, getting in a tease whenever she could.

She followed him up the porch steps and watched him knock on the door. His red cape was slightly moving in the breeze. Tess reached out and pinched a piece of between her fingers feeling the material it was made out of. It was soft, but felt durable and thick. She couldn't believe she knew Superman, even if she didn't really want to.

Clark laughed. “Actually she does, she’s the only other person left of my race so it brings me comfort I’m not alone and someone who understands me.” It was true Kara was his only blood family and while he loved his adoptive parents with all his heart, they didn’t always quite understand Clark the way Kara did.

It didn’t take long to see the door open and a shorter and thin blonde woman smile. “Kal! It’s so nice to see you, it’s been awhile” she grinned pulling into a hug, you must be Tess, I’m Kara, I’m Kal’s older cousin if you want to call it that” she laughed gently shaking hands with the young woman. “Come on in, its a bit chilly outside I was just making some chili and cocoa”

Tess didn't wait around when Kara invited her in. She was freezing! Not only had she been sleeping outside, her jacket was paper thin and Kal had just flown her through the sky. She felt like she had turned into an ice block. "Nice to meer you, too." She whispered in a hurry when she walked past Kara.

When she entered the warm house, she slowly was able to relax, but not for long. Instantly, she felt weird being in a strangers house. She stood around awkwardly, hearing the two speaking at the door.

"Kal, why are you doing this?" She whispered to her 'cousin.' She understood wanting to help, but this was a bit much.

Clark looked at Kara in disbelief, “because she needs help, and I offered my assistance, you should know more than anyone what people have to go through. But I also don’t want her to feel like I’m doing this out of charity. I care.” He whispered back. “I have a lot of compassion for people and I just i want her to be able to help.”

Kara looked at him and sighed the Kents’ really we’re outstanding people, the way they raised Clark to be such a good man speaks volumes of them as people as well. “Tess, let’s warm you right up, “ she smiled walking into the kitchen. “If you want a hot shower or anything let me know I have extra clothes you can borrow we look to be about the same size”

Charity was exactly what Tess felt like she was receiving. Kal seemed to be going above and beyond when he didn't have too, as if he had something to prove. But now, he was forcing his family into giving her charity too. Weird how stealing from people didn't make her feel as slimy as this did. She felt pathetic and ashamed.

"Oh no, that's okay." Tess spoke to Kara, not wanting to overstep her boundaries. "The food is honestly more than enough." Her stomach was growling but at the same time she felt too sick to eat. She followed the two into Kara's kitchen, her arms still wrapped around herself tightly.

Kal could tell she was feeling uncomfortable he assumed she wasn’t used to someone doing nice things for her. He sighed as he walked in the kitchen “do you have any friends you can stay with? If you don’t want to stay here you don’t have to, “ he finally spoke up. “I just figured I’d ask.” Clark felt bad about it now, not everyone liked being helped and he didn’t realize that.

It was in his nature to save and help people, he was a good person and did things out of the goodness of his heart. He wasn’t trying to prove anything to anyone, his parents just raised him properly.

The guilt Tess was feeling began to bubble up more inside of her, her hands were starting to shake a bit. "It's not that, I'm just sure your cousin doesn't to house a street thief. I wouldn't want too. Honestly, you can't really trust me." Tess looked to Kara. She couldn't promise anyone she wouldn't get sticky fingers on the way out of here. She looked back to Kal, "I'm sorry, I know you just want to help, but ... It's not going to change anything."

She turned back to Kara and gave her a slight smile. "Thanks anyway, it was nice meeting you." After that, Tess was quick to disappear from the kitchen and out of the small house. She didn't know what she was thinking calling him. The more help she took from him just made her feeling disgusting.

Kal looked at Kara and watched the young woman leave the house he was quick to gather a bigger jacket and food. Why was it so hard for her to accept any help. He was quick to catch up to her, “hey, I understand that you’re not a custom to receiving help, but could you at least take some food and something it. To keep you warm. I’d feel bad letting you just leave hungry and cold, I’m sorry I made you feel bad...” he stood in front of her.

“I just want to help, I have no need to prove myself to anyone I’m just doing it because I care. I don’t want you freezing out here. Let me at least take you to your friend?”

Tess frowned when Kal walked around her to stop her in her tracks. "You didn't make me feel bad." She frowned, slouching her shoulders. "I just know that I'm going to make you regret helping me. You can't help people like me, Kal." She hesitated on taking the items from his hands, she wasn't sure if she wanted to or not. Whether Kal liked to hear it or not, Tess knew she would just end up stealing from Kara or from him, or something worse, maybe. That's just who she was. She didn't know anything else.

Clark frowned as she heard her talk that way about herself, “I believe there’s good in everyone. Even if they themselves can’t see it. I never regret saving anyone or helping them.” Clark sighed “what’s it going to take for you to trust me and let me help, I genuinely care about your well being.”

She reached her hand out and took the coat, unable to handle the cold in just her long sleeve shirt. Pulling it on, she crossed her arms over her chest again, not knowing what to say to him. "I'm not good, Kal." No matter what he though, he couldn't rehabilitate her. She would always be the way she is.

Kal sighed “you don’t really believe that do you?” He asked wondering why she was thinking this. She was so young she had to be in her mid twenties, people could change and they often did. He looked at Tess, “if you want me to leave you alone, just tell me.”

"I do really believe that, Kal. Because no matter how bad I feel about it, this whole time I've still been wondering how to take advantage of the situation. Which is why I'm leaving." She didn't want to tell him to leave her alone, because still for some reason, she didn't want him to. "I'll find my friend, don't worry about it." She turned around, beginning to walk away as she shoved her hands into the pockets of the jacket. There was no friend, she had no clue where Ivy was, but she'd figure something out.

Clark sighed, and watched her leave he couldn’t force her to do something if she didn’t want to. He had learned of people didn’t want to help themselves there would be no helping them. This girl obviously meant what she said and as much as he wanted to help Tess she wasn’t going to let him. So he let her be, flying off to see his parents since he was already in town.

Over the next coming weeks, Tess and Ivy had started to become a bit more notorious for their crimes. They had joined an underground gang, led by some anonymous villains. They had done a bit of experimenting on the girls; Ivy now had a controllable poisonous touch and could place anyone under a love spell just by interacting with them, Tess had the power of mind control and telekinesis. Unfortunately, it all had been against the girl's wills. They had gone through a lot of mental and physical abuse before being granted the new powers.

The girl's had just finished robbing a bank, pretty silently, if they might add. It was easy to get what you want when you could easily influence a person's actions and your friend could charm them. Of course, it didn't work on everyone. The police hadn't been alerted until they were long gone. Their current hideaway place was a suite on the top floor of one of Metropolis' most famous hotels. "Can you believe it Ivy? At least we're not sleeping on the streets anymore!"

Clark hasn’t heard anything else from Tess and he figured he might not, since she really didn’t want anything to do with him. He had spent several days out of the planet helping others with his team of the Justice League. Once he was back on Earth he heard about what was going on with Tess and he was slightly disappointed. He knew she didn’t care for being a good person but he still wanted to help her. Now here he was in Gotham with Batman trying to stop Poison Ivy and Tess.

Once Clark found them he had been warned by Bruce that Ivy had toxins and had given him anti venons for it. Bruce always paranoid but usually for good measures. Clark really hoped Bruce didn’t get to them first, because he might beat them pretty badly. He had no problem hitting women I’d they were as bad as Ivy or Harley Quinn.

"They're already gone." Bruce came walking out of the bank once he saw Superman arrive. He was hiding behind his cowl as Batman, but the annoyance was still apparent all over his face. "Any idea where they would've gone? Back to Metropolis maybe?" The girls had stolen nearly five-hundred grand from the bank, walking out with it casually in suitcases. "I'll keep my eye out here, go back to Metropolis and try to find them." Batman turned away, beginning to head back to his batmobile.

It wasn't about the money, Batman could care less about something like that. He just didn't want to more mutated freaks running around the streets. He had enough villains to deal with, he didn't need to add Tess and Ivy to his list.
