The Way You Lie {CLOSED}

Jess flopped on the couch and text her dad that they were home. She wanted to see if he could bring over the car so she can come and go whenever without being a inconvenience to Lizzie. "We can't give into them too much. Opie said he is getting a divorce and well he already wants to work on us. I can't get involve with him right now." She said looking at the bottle.

Jax nodded towards them as they walked out to Opie. "Let's follow them." He said, chuckles only half being serious. He wanted to know where they lived so he could protect her and to make sure no one would hurt her or them. He looked over at Opie who was shaking his head. "You think we should do that Abel or is daddy crazy?" Jax laughed a bit then looked up when Clay walked in.

Opie stared at Jax, "It's not crazy, when you care about someone." Opie told his best friend smiling at him.

"Doing what? What are you two thinking of doing?" Clay questioned his step-son. "If you're thinking of following those two, you better be careful. Tig already wants to kill you Jax for breaking her heart once." Clay warned him.

"We'll be safe, Clay." Opie told him.

"I don't think it's wise." Clay warned.

Sighing heavily, Lizzie nodded her head. "Jax never said he wanted to work on us." Lizzie replied softly as she looked at her phone seeing her dad had texted. Replying she saw the time and frowned, "I better head to bed, I have work in the morning." Lizzie hugged her best friend. "Get some sleep." She told her before making her way down the hallway and into her bedroom.

Jax bounced Abel as he listened to Clay go on a rant about leaving the girls alone. "Come on, we were all good for each other." He said. He only half believed that. When Jax was with Lizzie he was a better person. Clay tooknAbel out of his arms. "Take him to his grandma. Opie and I have somewhere to be."

Jess sat there for a good ten minutes before walking out on their porch for some fresh air. She sat on the swing as she notice the car her dad dropped off. She walked out to her new ride and grabbed the keys. She felt someone grab her hips and she jumped out and swung nearly hitting Opie. "What the hell are you doing here?"

Opie stared at her, "I--" Opie looked at her. "I had to see where you live, so I could keep you safe." Opie told her honestly. "I am sorry for the way I did you. I was a dick. I never meant to hurt you." Opie told her. "I really want another shot at us, you make me a better person." Opie stated to her.

Hearing Jess shout, Lizzie quickly made her way through the house in her pajamas. Stopping on the porch seeing Opie, she narrowed her eyes. "So what now are you stalking her?" Lizzie snapped feeling her anger rising.

"I--I wanted to keep her safe." Opie told Lizzie.

"She's been doing that her whole life since we left here. We keep each other safe, from scum." She crossed her arms narrowing her eyes.

Jess looked between those two as they fought. She couldn't really get in a word really. Opie would say one thing then Lizzie would go off on him. She finally snuck away to the backyard. She didn't know what to think right now. It was good to see Opie again but he hurt her badly. She couldn't just let him in like she did before. She felt someone sit beside her but she didn't bother to look to see who it was because she knew.

Jax watches from the car because he was about to get out when Lizzie came out in her pajamas. She looked super cute in them. He watched from the car as he saw Jess walk away from the other two arguing. He sent a text to Opie saying Jess was in the backyard. Jax sat there for a few moments before getting out and walking up to Lizzie.

Sighing, Opie sat down beside of Jess. "I am truly sorry about the fight." Opie apologized to her. "I really want to keep you safe, and I really want us to work this out." Opie told her. "I made mistakes, and I am willing to wait as long as it takes. Maybe we could start back off as friends?" Opie suggested.

Lizzie narrowed her eyes sighing. Turning around she stopped seeing Jax walking towards her as she narrowed her eyes at the man she had loved once before. "Stalking is illegal." She snapped crossing her arms. "Get off my porch and leave. There is nothing for us to talk about, nor do I want to talk to someone who fucking broke my heart, and cheated on me." Lizzie yelled before turning around and walking towards the door and going inside the house slamming the door shut.

Jess sighed, rubbing her eyes then looking over at him. "Opie, I don't know. You hurt me pretty bad. I haven't really been in a relationship since you. Not a real commitment one." She looked at her hands as he reached over and laced his fingers with hers. "This isn't a relationship yet but we can start by being friends." Jess bite her lip as they heard Lizzie shout. Jess got up and went inside as Opie followed. "What is wrong?"

Jax shook his head and stormed in after her. He wasn't going to give up that easily. It has been a long time and he felt like it was time to move on. He was young when he did that. "Lizzie, I'm a grown ass man now. I was just a stupid kid when that all happened. You can't hold that against me." He said grabbing her arm before she reached the stairs. He watched her as she stood facing away from her. He hoped that this would work. He had missed her so much and he was so glad she was here again. Jax looked over at Jess and Opie as they walked in.

Hearing her words, Opie smiled at her. Hearing the shouting, he took and followed Jess seeing Jax and Lizzie going at it. Sighing he pulled Jess back, "Let's let them have a moment." Opie whispered to her softly.

Lizzie took and kept her back to Jax. Yanking her arm from his she shook her head. She ignored his plea and went up the stairs to her room. Slamming the door shut she slid down it sighing heavily as the memories came flooding over her. It was more than he knew, she was pregnant as well. But she had lost her child, and would never know how it felt to be a mother.

Jess glares back at Jax as Opie guide her into the kitchen. "She is taking this harder then I am. I won't go into details because it's not our business. She's my best friend, Opie. She's still hurting." She said leaning against the counter as Jax walked into the kitchen.

"What is her problem? I'm trying to make things right?" Jax said coming into the kitchen, angry. He looked ar them both then rolled his eyes. "S she forgave you? You did the same thing as I did." Jax said shaking his head.

"Yeah, she forgave me." Opie told his best friend as he looked at Jess hearing her. He didn't question, he knew if Lizzie wanted people to know, she'd tell them or Tig would one. Looking at Jess and then to Jax he sighed, "Why don't you calm down, and quit being so damn hot headed, and angry." Opie warned his best friend.

Once her dad had got her calm, and told her he'd be there. She slowly got up and wiped her eyes. Slowly opening the door she walked out and down the stairs. Seeing her dad come in the front door she walked to him gripping to him as he comforted her. Walking with him she saw Opie and Jess stare at her as she wiped her eyes. "You need to know." Lizzie said above a whisper. "The night everything happened. I had found out I was pregnant. I carried our daughter to full term." Lizzie gripped to her dad frowning. "When she was born, she wasn't breathing or responding...I lost her..." Lizzie chocked out feeling her dad grip to her.

Jess blushed a little when he said that then looked over at Lizzie coming in and listened to her. She talked about it all. Jess eyes filled up having to relive see her best friend like that and nothing she could do. It broke her heart seeing her this way. Opie rubbed her arms and looked over at Jax, who was just standing there.

"You were pregnant?" Jax asked looking at her belly then back at her. "You never told me? We could of made things work. I would of been there." Jax hits the wall as he tried to stay calm because he saw Lizzie and Jess both jump. He shook his head. "I cheated once but you held back something from and that is far much worse." He said storming out of the house and to the porch.

Opie looked at Jess and sighed, "Let me talk to him." Opie told her as he walked out and sat beside of Jax. "Listen. I know your pissed. Put your self in her shoes. She lost the kid, and you got to have Abel. That's not fair, but it's life. You were all about Wendy, and making sure Abel had everything." Opie told him sighing. "I know you love her, and you're hurting and pissed. But you need to work this out. Did you see how broken she is?" Opie questioned Jax staring at him.

Jess walked over to Lizzie and rubbed her back softly. "I think you two need to just sit down and talk it out. Work something out. Try to be friends at least." She said as she saw her best friend glare at her. She put her hands up in defense. "I'm only trying to help. You both are hurting now. I'm sorry."

"She was pregnant, Opie and she never told me. She didn't give a shit about how I would of felt. I wouldn't have been with Wendy or Tara. I would of tried to make things work with. I fucking love her, Opie." Jax covered.his face as.he cried. He hated crying because it showed him being weak.

"You and Liz, need to sit down away from all of us. Talk this out. Attempt to be friends again, Jax." Opie told his best friend patting his back as he walked inside looking at Jess and sighing. "We need to give them space." He told her softly.

Slowly walking out onto the porch, she sat beside of Jax. Taking his hands slowly into hers seeing him crying she frowned. "I know, I made a mistake." She whispered. "We both did. I really want to try to be friends, Jax." She sighed looking at him. "See where it goes." She looked away as she released his hands and frowned to herself.

Jess nodded and yawned. "I'm going to go bed. I'll call you tomorrow, yeah?" She looked up at the bearded man with a smile. She went over to give him a hug then she stopped right before doing so. "Goodnight." She stuck her hand out for him to shake.

Jax nodded "tell me what happened? How did you lose our baby? Was it my fault?" He turned and looked at her. He grabbed her hand and held it. "Liz, please." He said biting his lip. He wanted to pull her close and hold her and protect her. He wasn't letting her go again.

Opie stared at her and shook her hand. "Good night, Jess." He smiled softly at her.

Lizzie frowned, "The doctor said the planceta had shifted forward. When she was born, it had caused her death." Lizzie looked at him the tears falling from her eyes.

Jess walked to the stairs and stood there. "You can wait here or go out the back so you don't interrupt them." She said looking at him then walked upstairs to her bedroom.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I'm sorry I wasn't there." Jax said cupping her cheek gently and looking at her. He didn't know what to say or do really. He felt bad and he wish he could take back everything.

Sitting down, Opie sighed to himself. He hated he'd hurt her so bad, but knew he couldn't stop anything now. He had to try and move forward with her.

Lizzie kind of shrugged sighing softly, "Can we just move forward, try to become friends again?" Lizzie questioned pulling away from Jax.

Jess leaned against her door when she made it up there. She wasn't sure what to think anymore. She was tired. She'd worry about everything in the morning. She went to bed and laid down and was put by 5 minutes.

Jax nodded, "yeah, we can try. Lizzie, I'm really sorry." He said as her father walked out of the house with Opie. "Where is Jess." Tigs pointed up and
he assumed he meant upstairs. "We will make things right, Lizzie." Jax stood up and helped her stand up. "I'll see you later." He said nodding.

Opie waited on Jax, hoping he'd hurry up soon.

Lizzie nodded her head, "Good night, Jax." She told him walking away from him and headed inside with her dad. Once she was upstairs she laid in her bed and was gone, before she knew it.
