The sound of the curtains being drawn back near her bed caused the young princess to open one eye, slowly pulling back the multiple covers that hid her. Sunlight streamed in through the now open window, and her nanny, Marion, was opening her closet, beginning to rifle through the many dresses she owned. Marion had been her maid and nanny since the child was born, she was an older woman, with graying hair and sweet brown eyes, though sometimes she could be very stern. "Time to rise and shine, little miss, you have a surprise visitor."

Aurora had began to lift herself up in the bed, but hearing that she had a visitor caused a groan to escape her lips and she fell back once more, her head meeting the pillows again. "Oh, don't give me that," Marion snapped, barely looking over her shoulders as she pulled a few dresses from the closet.

"Is it another suitor?" Aurora whined, dropping her arms down loudly by her sides, causing her blankets to fluff up. Over the past couple of months, it had seemed Aurora had met snotty prince after snotty prince, and every time she had turned them away. It was like she was destined to never marry, none of them ever catching her eye.

Mario frowned, holding the perfect gown in her hands as she turned to face the princess's bed. The dress was long and flowing, with loose sleeves that fell off of the shoulders. It would do just fine for the nice summer day they were having, but still looked fitting for a princess. "No, I'm afraid it's not a suitor that has coming knocking, but rather..." Marion swallowed as she looked down at the floor, trying to find the right words, but she knew there was no easy way to say it. "You have been promised to someone, my lady, and it appears they have come to claim you."

Aurora's eyes shot open, and she quickly rose up in the bed. "Excuse me?"
The princess had put up a rather nasty fight. Knights had heard her throwing a fit outside of her bedroom doors, but Marion had a strict hand. Before Aurora knew it, she had been strapped into her corset, gown tugged over her head and Marion was escorting her to the throne room, where the mysterious man waited.

The doors opened, allowing the princess entrance, and her eyes instantly fell on the one man who stuck out like a sore thumb. He was much taller than all the others in the room, his white hair looking like it needed to a good brushing, his swords still strapped to his back. Swords? Aurora thought to herself, feeling a lump in her throat as Marion escorted the young lady to him. He looked so old... Not, unattractive, though he was rough around the edges, but he looked to be double her age. The young princess had just turned sixteen. Growing closer to the stranger, Aurora's eyes fell to the necklace he wore, a silver wolfs head.

A witcher. Her parents were really going to allow this? They had promised her to a witcher!?

"There she is," the king spoke, a smile on his face. As far as he was concerned, without the witcher, his wife would've been lost to him many years ago, and his daughter would've never been born. His wife, the rest of the castle and the kingdom were up in arms about a witcher being inside the of their home, completely outraged by the thought of him marrying the princess, but the king... He didn't care. He would hold true to his promise. "My daughter, Aurora." The king introduced Geralt to the princess as he stepped forward and placed a hand on his daughter's shoulder. "This is Geralt of Rivia," he whispered to Aurora, knowing it must've come as a shock to her. It had come as shock to him, as well.

Geralt had arrived the night before, well after the moon had hung itself high in the night sky. The king hadn't wanted to wake Aurora and ruin what peaceful night sleep she might've been having. Aurora forced herself to look up at Geralt, his orange eyes causing her to step closer towards her father's side. "It's...nice to meet you." She forced herself to remain polite, curtsying to the witcher.
