Abigail thoughts were racing a mile a minute as she started for the stairs that would put distance between her and Syverson. Before she could even take more than two steps away, Sy's fingers grasped her arm and yanked her backward. She looked up to him, a sneer on her face. "Don't you talk to me like one of your sol-" Abigail's words were cut off before she could even finish speaking. His hand connected with her cheek and she hit the ground the next moment.

Suddenly her mind was silent, her omega whimpering as she pressed herself back against the counter. Abigail whimpered at Syverson's words, tears clouding her vision as she stared at his feet. The little nickname that would normally have sent a blush covering her cheeks made her blood run cold instead. Her bottom lip wobbled as she sniffled, unable to convince herself to even nod her head to show she understood.

Manging to force herself to nod, Abigail's thoughts were racing all over again. She had never been afraid of Syverson before but she was now. He had never hurt her and now, she was left unsure of what he was going to do to her. "I-I'm.. I'm sorry," she breathed, her voice breaking around a sob. She squeezed her eyes shut and moved to wipe away her tears. "L-Let me.. let me just finish dinner. It'll be done in a second, okay?" She whispered, not daring to even sit up until Syverson let her.

"That's more like it." Syverson sneered as he rose back to his feet. Looking down on Abigail as he should. Her cries and the tears running down her face pulled at his heart, but he had to stand firm. He wasn't going to let his omega run her mouth and have reign over the house. She was supposed to submit to him, and biting back at him during their argument was not submitting.

The flesh on the side of her face where he had struck her was already red and beginning to raise. It would be swollen and Abigail would probably have a black eye in the morning. Something to remind her of her place. "You don't tell me what to do, bug." He grabbed his beer from the counter and began to move to the doorway in their kitchen. "You don't end the conversation, I do." His tongue grazed over his top lip, where he could catch the faint taste of beer that had lingered on his mustache. "What makes you think it's okay to talk to me like that?"

He watched Abigail pull herself up off the floor. Slowly, like a beaten pup. He couldn't help but roll his eyes, forgetting how strong he could be when he wanted to. It was just a slap, something she should've been able to take in stride. "Tell me when dinners done," he grumbled, walking out to take his seat on the couch.

Abigail curled in on herself when Syverson stood, trying to make herself as small as possible. She didn’t realize it, that she was trying to make herself as small of a target as she possibly could. She tugged her bottom lip between her teeth, trying to quiet her cries as Syverson snapped at her.

Abigail didn’t think she had ever felt as small as she did at the moment. Syverson had never hurt her, he had never made her feel threatened despite the size difference. He was nearly a foot taller than her and his size... he could have broken her in two, if he wanted. It had never been something that made Abigail afraid until this moment. Before, it had been a source of comfort to the omega. Now, it was the complete opposite.

“O-Okay,” Abigail stuttered, flinching slightly as she pushed herself to her feet. She stood on shaky legs, using the counter to support herself. She felt sick to her stomach as she listened to Sy turn the television on. He was her husband, her alpha. She wasn’t supposed to be afraid. But she was

Jumping when the timer went off, Abigail bit back a whimper as she forced herself into the motions of turning off the timer and the burner on the stove. She scooped enough of the broth and the food into a bowl for Syverson, before tiptoeing into the living room. When she appeared, her head was lowered and her shoulders curled in on herself.

“I’m going to..” Abigail paused, wincing at what she had said. “Can I go take a bath? I’ll put the leftovers away and make sure the kitchen is clean first,” she whispered, wringing her fingers together once Syverson had taken the bowl from her.

Sy dropped down onto the couch, his knees spread apart as he let his head fall to his hands. It didn't make him feel good to lash out at Abigail, to speak to her the way he would speak to one of his soldiers. She was his omega, he was supposed to protect her and keep her safe and she was supposed to take care of him. Not argue with him or try to boss him around. He could still hear her snappy voice, telling him what she was going to do. It pissed him off.

His head jerked up when he heard Abigail's little quiet steps. Scaring her must've worked, but would it last? Barely nodding, Syverson let out a quiet sigh as he took the bowl from her. Not even the smell of his favorite meal could even bring him comfort right now. All Syverson could do was raise his hand, barely acknowledging her question.

He didn't know what was wrong with him. He felt like he did when he was overseas. Harsh, bloodthirsty, stern, ready to snap at a moment's notice. This wasn't how he felt when he was home. Sy enjoyed relaxing, he was tempered, gentle... Not like this. Clearing his throat, he forced himself to speak to his wife. "After the kitchens cleaned."

It was taking everything in Abigail's power not to collapse beside Syverson and wrap herself in his arms because they had always been a source of comfort to her. She had always felt safe with him and like nothing could possibly hurt her but right now? She didn't know if it would be the right thing to do. Syverson had told her no nesting.. so was she allowed to come to him for comfort? She wanted to ask and the question was right there on the tip of her tongue but she couldn't bring herself to ask. Abigail was afraid that if she did, it would spark another reaction from Syverson and she didn't know if she could handle that right now.

"Yes, alpha," there was no emotion in Abigail's words as she twisted around, heading back into the kitchen. Her scent was no longer sweet but it had taken on a musty aspect, showing just how upset she was as she moved about the kitchen. Tears threatened to fall but she managed to keep them at bay as she put away the leftover food and finished loading the dishwasher. Deciding to bring Syverson a fresh beer before she went upstairs, Abigail was silent as she tiptoed into the room. She had no appetite at the moment, no desire to settle down beside him and enjoy his favourite meal with him.

"I'll leave the door open in case you need anything," Abigail spoke gently. She gave him a tight smile before heading up the stairs, all too eager to create distance between her and Syverson. The thought alone made her let out a tiny sob. She was only relieved she kept it to herself until she stepped into their bathroom.

Abigail hung her head as she started the bath, filling it with lavender oils before she shed her little nightgown. She had just been about to step into the bath when she saw towel that Sy had discarded. Before she could consider the ramifications of it, Abigail had grabbed the towel and balled it up around her shoulders before climbing into the bath. She sank into the water, her face buried into the towel so she could try to comfort herself with his scent. Her tears flowed freely now as reality sunk in. Abigail had never been afraid of Syverson before but.. but she was now.

Syverson kept his gaze straight, staring at the television but not really paying attention to what was on. He was too lost in his own thoughts. Worrying about himself, worrying about Abigail, worrying about their future. He had been told when he was dismissed from the army that this was a fresh start, to think of it like an early retirement. That it would be peachy, he'd get to stay at home, spend time with his wife, pick up a hobby... But instead, he was eating dinner alone, feeling like the weight of everything was coming down on his shoulders. Like his mind was cracking.

Finishing his bowl, Sy waited for a moment, a low growl coming from the back of his throat as he did his best to push away the thoughts clouding his mind. Forcing himself to his feet, he picked up his bowl and the second beer Abigail had brought to him. Heading into the kitchen, his nose wrinkled immediately upon recognizing his wife's tainted scent. He knew she would be upset, scared even, but... The scent was on everything.

Sy rinsed his bowl out and sat it in the sink, feeling like cement blocks were strapped to his feet. He didn't want to move. Resting his hands on the counter, he dropped his head and forced himself to breathe in the musty scent, paying attention to each bitter note. Deep down, he knew what he had done to his wife wasn't fair.

Pushing himself away from the sink, the alpha turned to head up the stairs. He peered up the dark staircase, only seeing a sliver of light at the top that must've been coming from the door Abigail left open. Between how dark it was and how silent, Syverson felt a sinking feeling. He felt disgusting as he made himself climb the stairs, and head towards the bathroom. He wasn't entirely sure what he would say to her. Definitely not an apology, but he wanted to make her feel better.

"Bug?" Sy called from the bedroom, not hesitating for even a second as he barged into the bathroom. The sight of Abigail could've broken his heart. She was almost completely submerged in the water, tears clearly streaking down her face as she snuggled with the towel he had used not even an hour ago. "...Bug..." Syverson sighed, gently dropping to his knees at the side of the bathtub. "C'mon, don't act like this..." He said it so casually, as if he hadn't knocked her teeth in mere moments ago.

Abigail wasn’t making much noise any longer, her eyes screwed shot as tears slid down her cheeks. She suddenly felt so exhausted, like she had no energy at all. She knew that Syverson was going to be upset when he came home but she hadn’t thought this would happen. She had never even been afraid that Sy would hurt her but he had because she’d challenged him.

They had argued in the past so it wasn’t as if it was a new concept. Abigail’s stomach twisted at the thought as she snuggled into the towel she clutched to her chest. It was the only thing helping her to calm down and she hated it. Syverson was downstairs - she should be cuddled up against him for comfort but she was afraid. Because of him.

Jerking when she heard Syverson call out to her, Abigail’s heart skipped a beat. She opened her eyes but didn’t respond otherwise, too nervous to say anything. Syverson would be able to figure out where she was, anyway.

Abigail’s body visibly tensed when Syverson entered the bathroom, a rush of panic flowing through her. She shoes away from him, biting down on the inside of her lip. “You hit me,” she pointed out, her voice betraying just how upset she was. Abigail know how alphas could be but Syverson has never been that territorial or anything. Her devotion to him had always been concrete and well known.

“I try to be okay when you’re gone, Sy. But you don’t seem to ever care if I’m not... if I’m upset or my heat is bad or whatever. I should just suck it up and take it because I’m just an omega. Like that means I should suffer or something. Just because of who I am!” Her voice started to get more shrill, huffing as she looked up to Syverson. Her eyes were wide and puffy as she stared up at him. “And that isn’t fair. Because I always care about you! Always!”

Syverson felt his hand tighten into a fist, his jaw tensed as he bit down on his tongue. Trying his best to contain himself. His blue eyes took in every little detail of her face, watching how she was getting worked up by just speaking. This is why alphas were in charge, they didn't let their emotions blindly rule them. At least, that's what he told himself. "Bug," Syverson started, shaking his head as a means to tell her to calm down. "The answer isn't heat suppressants." It shouldn't even be a problem anymore. He was home, indefinitely. Still, it shouldn't have been kept from him.

"You made a decision to go on a medication without running it by me first. That was your first mistake." Part of him enjoyed trapping her in the bath, growing agitated just being reminded of how she had tried to take it on herself to end the argument downstairs. There would be no escaping this one. "You are an omega and heats are just something you have to deal with. There are other safer options to bring relief, but I don't take too kindly to the idea of my omega possibly sterilizing herself because she can't suck it up and deal with it for a couple of days. Unless, you don't want to have a family with me?" His voice had grown from a soft whisper to taking on a demeaning, ridiculing tone. "The risks are slim, but they are still there."

Any slim chance of him apologizing to his love had completely diminished. She hadn't learned a thing from her punishment downstairs, already willing to try and argue with him some more. It's not fair... When had Syverson ever been fair? It was his right to put his foot down and make any decisions he decided was necessary, whether Abigail liked it or not. "I'm done with the backtalk, bug. You are an omega, you're supposed to act like an omega, and I'm going to treat you like one. Do you want to be praised and loved on like a good lil omega, or do I need to start punishing you? Because right now, I still see you're running that mouth. You're talking about things you know nothing about, bug. Don't try and tell me what I care about when I'm overseas. All I care about is you and our home and that is why I'm so pissed off right now." He wished she could see that. He wasn't trying to conjure a fight up out of nowhere. If he didn't believe and know those pills could potentially harm her, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. If she had only asked him first...

Abigail's eyes narrowed at the 'first mistake' comment. She huffed as she sat up straighter, shaking her head slowly as she glared at him. She never liked to argue with him. He was her alpha and she was wholly devoted to him but that didn't give him the right to talk to her that way. Certainly not with the way he went on to explain that he was the one in charge. She was nothing more than an omega. "Don't you dare, Syverson," her voice was cold as she shook her head. "You know I want to have your pups. You know I love you. I would never want anything else but you're not the one that's left behind every time you deploy! You're not the one that's left afraid that your mate is never coming home! It could have easily been you, not James! Then I would have never seen you again!" Abigail was basically yelling at that point, worked up because it seemed like no matter what she said, Syverson didn't seem to care what she was saying or about her feelings.

She leaned forward and pulled the drain on the tub before she stood, shaking her head as she looked down to him. "You know what? If you think that this is.. just what's going to happen between us, it's not. You might have seen James... but that doesn't give you the right to act like this. And it definitely doesn't mean that I didn't hurt over James. Because he might have been your best friend but he was like a brother to me. Because I care about you, Sy. I love you. But you're always all about you. You don't think about my feelings," Abigail wasn't yelling anymore. Her voice was soft, hurt as she reached for her towel that hung on the rack beside the shower.

"I'm not doing this back and forth with you, Sy. I love you and I will do anything I can to make you happy. You should know you're my everything," she snapped, her voice cracking a bit. Did she not make it obvious to him? What had she done that would make Sy question her loyalty to him? Her devotion to him? Abigail reached up to wipe at her eyes that threatened to fall. She was his omega and he was questioning whether she was going to be good to him? "I'm going to bed. Whether you like it or not. I'm tired and I'm done fighting."

Sy's hands were gripping the side of the bath, his knuckles turning white. He could feel his mind breaking with each new stress she placed on his shoulders. He did everything to make her life easy. All he asked was for a clean home to come back to. "Left you behind?" He his head tilted up, finally bringing himself to look into her eyes. He wouldn't move, wouldn't dare let her by him. "Is that what you saw that as? Leaving you behind? Like I was running off to Iraq to have a fucking party?" Rising to his feet, Syverson made sure to stand straight, his shoulders squared, making him as large as he could possibly be.

"I put my fucking life on the line, Abigail. Every fucking day I was gone. You don't think I didn't worry every fucking day that I might not be able to come home to you?" That was the last straw. His fist launched by her head, Syverson missing on purpose as his knuckles collided with the shower tiling. It completely cracked, breaking off into shards that dropped into the bath water at Abigail's feet. His face was centimeters from hers now. She was acting like she had it rough. That was the problem with all omegas. You didn't coddle them every fucking minute of the day and suddenly, their lives were the worst things imaginable. "Don't fucking talk about James." Syverson was fighting the urge to tear apart with his hands, feel her soft skin under his calloused fingers as he just broke her.

"And whether I like it or not?" His voice lowered, a dangerous sense of calm falling over him. "Okay..." He licked his bottom lip, relaxing his fist and letting his palm rest against the broken wall for a moment, before he stood back up straight. "You wanna go to bed? I'll put you to bed." Before she could react, Syverson wrapped his arms around her waist, throwing her over his shoulder as he packed her out of the bathroom. He could feel her fists beating against his back, and there was an even a small voice in the back of his mind, begging him to just take a breath, to stop, to think about what he was doing. But he couldn't.

    She just kept disrespecting him.

"You want to act like a little spoiled bitch, you have another thing coming, Abi." Dropping her down on the bed, Sy moved casually around the room. Ripping one of the blankets from the bed, he tossed it into the floor and stepped next to it, pointing down at the pathetic excuse for a bed he made. "Are you going to lie in it, or will I have to make you?"

“That’s my point! You risked your life every single damn day and sometimes I wouldn’t hear from you for days! Or weeks at times! And you wanna know how hard it was to try and pretend like I wasn’t breaking? Because what if it had been you? What if something had happened to you?!” Abigail was letting loose for the first time since their relationship had started. She had never told him about all of her worries because she didn’t want it to distract Syverson. She didn’t want him to put himself in a compromising position that did lead to an awful outcome.

Whatever other point Abigail had been ready to make was cut off when Syverson’s fist came flying at the wall. She helped, her hands shooting up to cover her mouth as she stared at him, wide eyed. Abigail shrank away from him, no longer an ounce of aggression being felt by her. The look on Syverson’s face terrified her - was that how he looked in the middle of a firefight? Was that how he looked when he had to discipline his soldiers?

“A-Alpha, I-“ Instead, Abigail let out a shrill cry as Syverson tossed her over his shoulder. She began to squirm, hitting his back weakly. She wasn’t trying to hurt him but just enough to get his attention and make him realize he needed to stop whatever he was trying to do. The moment Sy dropped her on the bed, Abigail curled into a tight ball. She watched him warily, her brows pulling together when Syverson tossed a blanket to the floor in a haphazard pile.

When Abigail realized when Sy wanted from her, she felt her mouth go dry. She swallowed, giving a tiny shake of her head. Naked and exposed, Abigail found herself feeling far more vulnerable than she ever had before. “I-I... I don’t like this. You’re scaring me,” she whispered lamely, wrapping her arms around her knees as she tried to contain her emotions. Abigail was tired of crying tonight but that didn’t stop the sense of panic that was only continuing to grow as Syverson glared at her.

"I deserve more respect." It came out more as a plead than it did a demand. Sy's shoulders slouched as his arms just fell to his sides. He was exhausted. Trying to stand tall and demand the things he wanted out of Abigail, but it was wearing on him. It was his first day home, he had just witnessed his best friend being blown to bits. Blood all over the sands, an arm here, his boot there... The fucking idiot had stepped on a anti-personnel mine. How many times had Syverson warned James, no, not only James but his whole fucking battalion to watch where they were fucking going?

Sy tried to place the blame anywhere else but on him, it didn't work. It hadn't been his fault, but he was carrying so much guilt. It should've been him. "I've done so much for you, bug..." His voice was no longer laced with anger, but instead now sounded much quieter, almost pathetic. "Put my life on the line so you could live comfortably." Sy had already been military when they met, but continued to deploy, mostly, for her. "I loved my career, so much... But I kept going back for you. To give you this house, a place where we could grow old and raise our pups... All that time I could've been home, with you, isn't lost on me. But I needed to do right by ya..."

That was his job as an alpha. Making sure everything was taken care of. His omega shouldn't have to worry about finances, or whether or not there'd be a roof over her head or food to eat. Glancing back to the pile on the floor, he growled, his lips curling into a snarl. "And now it's just gone. All the hard work I'd put in, climbing up the ranks... Just... Gone."

Syverson forgot all about his means to punish Abigail. Sinking down to sit on the bed, he felt ashamed. The last thing he should ever do was put his shortcomings and his emotions onto his omega. He was supposed to carry her, not the other way around.

Abigail felt a bit open in her bottom of her stomach watching as Sy's demeanor changed. He wasn't angry anymore but he was beginning to look like a lost man. It broke her heart because she had always known Syverson as a strong, capable alpha who could be looked to for strength even in the hardest times. Her brows pulled together and she started to move toward Syverson, only to hesitate when he started speaking again. She wanted to reach out to him so badly because while Syverson wasn't saying everything, she could see the way he was breaking. He was already broken. And there was nothing she could do about it. That was a failure on her part as an omega.

She hesitated a moment longer, her stomach twisting. Abigail didn't want to push her luck and have Sy lash out at her but she wasn't about to sit back and watch as he suffered. She wouldn't allow it. "Alpha," she uttered his title, pushing off of the mattress. Her movements were slow and deliberate, betraying that she was afraid despite trying her best to put up a confident demeanor. She moved to stand in front of him, dipping her head just enough so that she could catch his eye.

"I know, baby. I know you want to provide and you want to do everything you can for me and you have," Abigail's eyes welled as she spoke to him. She reached to grab his hands, tightening her grip on him. "You have never failed me. You have provided and you have been strong and you are all of those things, still. With or without the Army as a job, alpha. I'll always love you and I'm not.. I'm not going anywhere. I only know one alpha," she whispered, slipping one hand away from Sy's so that she could cup his cheek.

"You can do something else, baby. I know you can. But you wanna know what I need first?" Abigail's voice was unsure of herself, not wanting to make it seem like she was trying to tell him what to do. That had served to upset him earlier. "I need you to take care of yourself. In whatever way you need, so long as you are healing. That's all I need from you. All I want from you, alpha. The rest? We can figure out together."

Sy wished he could've just kept his mouth shut. Wished he had swallowed the feelings that were beginning to surface. It was wrong for him, as an alpha, to be putting his emotional load on his omegas shoulders. Abigail had to think he was pathetic, the complete opposite of the strong, demanding alpha she had fallen in love with. Even with her words of encouragement, reiterating that she would always be by his side, Sy couldn't help but feel like less of a man.

Raising an eyebrow slightly when she mentioned he could do something else, he brought a hand up to cover hers against his face. His thumb brushing over her soft skin. What else was there besides the army? It was the only thing he had ever done in his adult life. "I love you too, bug." His voice was barely above a whisper. Reminding him that he had never failed her sparked something inside of him. No matter how much Syverson loved serving his country, there was something much more important to him: making sure his omega had everything she needed.

Raising his hand off his leg, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in closer to him. He hid his face in her chest, wrapping his other arm around her waist to hug her tightly to him. Tears burned his eyes but he refused to let her see them. That was something he could not allow. Her scent wafted around him, soothing and calming his nerves. The sweet aroma reminding him what was really important to him, his omega. The first time they had met and Sy had caught her fragrance, he knew she was the one. Abigail was meant to be his mate. Sometimes Sy thought it had to be some sort of magic, because he had never met an omega who was capable of keeping him in check, taming his anger when it got out of control, consoling him when he was sad. Even now, he already felt so much more at peace just enjoying her essence.

"We'll get through this," he nodded, barely moving his head from where it rested.

Abigail was already writing off what had just happened between them that Syverson's rutt must be coming. Not to mention, he was just returning home from a traumatic experience and he had just lost the job that his life had been dedicated to. She had never known Syverson when he wasn't in the military so she couldn't be sure what was ahead of them but she knew that she loved him. That's all she could have ever wanted from Sy. The moment she realized he was hers, Abigail's heart had belonged to him. She let out a small sigh as she slid her arms around his shoulders, massaging her nails against the bottom of his scalp. "You're right. We will get through this. Together," Abigail murmured. She cupped Syverson's face and tilted it upward, willing him to look up at her. A small smile settled on his features as he leaned forward to kiss him.

At first, she was gentle, just wanting to remind them both that they were here. That it was real. That Abigail was standing right here with Syverson and neither of them had to worry about the other not being here. No one could ever take Abigail from Syverson and she wanted to make sure he understood that.

Humming softly, Abigail started to push her way onto Syverson's lap. She straddled him, slowly and deliberate as she settled into place. Her eyes fluttered shut as her hands slid to his shoulders. Her fingers massaged gently, as she deepened the kiss. She let out a low moan, without pushing it much further. SHe knew that Syverson was in a delicate position right now and as much as she wanted him, she didn't want to push him and have him break even further. He may have already been home for a day without them sleeping together but she would always care about him. That was not something that she would ever want to change.

"Alpha," she murmured against his lips, a flush coming over her cheeks. "I love you," a simple statement that conveyed more than she could ever hope to.

Syverson wanted nothing more than for this day to end. To fall back into the sheets of the bed with Abigail in his arms and just forget today ever happened. Everything had to be better in the morning, right? That's what he tried to tell himself, even if he was sure he would wake up feeling just as stressed and worn down. Closing his eyes tightly when he felt Abigail cup his face again, he rapidly blinked away the tears that threatened to fall, before she could make him look up. He didn't try to fight her on it, instead lifting his head to meet her gaze.

Abigail only hesitated a second, the pair of them losing theirselfs in each other's eyes, before she leaned in to press her lips to his. Sy's grip on her waist tightened, leaning into the kiss. It felt uncertain, as if Abigail wasn't sure if she was doing the right thing or not. He could almost hear her thoughts, wondering if she was being soft enough for him.

"Mmm, c'mere bug," Syverson allowed a small smile to rise to his face as she moved to settle down on his lap. A smile would always find its way on to his face when his omega was nearby. His lips brushed against hers again, before she came back for a deeper kiss, his hands sliding down to hold on to her thighs. The little moan he heard escape her lips sent a shiver down his spine. It had been months since they had been able to hold each other like this.

"I know," he whispered. At the same time, in one quick motion, Syverson grabbed onto Abigail and laid her down in the bed, before crawling over top of her. "but I love you more." Lowering his head, he pressed sweet, gentle kisses all over her face, being mindful to give her bruised cheek more attention and care. Caging her in between his arms, Syverson pressed their lips together with a bit more ferocity, as if he was becoming hungry for her. His tongue grazed her bottom lip, asking permission to enter while he bucked his hips into hers, feeling his cock twitch beneath his robe.

It wasn't hard for Abigail to realize just how emotional Syverson was at the moment but she ignored it, doing her best to focus on what she was doing. She just wanted to make sure Syverson as cared for and maybe more importantly, felt as if he was. As long as he was content and happy, Abigail was doing her job properly. She couldn't help but let out a quiet squeal as Syverson laid her out on the bed. She Shivered, her fingers wrapping into the material of his robe. She grinned up at him, only for her lips to part as Syverson's lips found hers again. She relaxed, arching into his touch.

Rocking her hips against his, Abigail couldn't help but whimper as she felt his cock stiffen. "A-Alpha," her voice came out shaky as she slid her arms around Syverson's shoulders to pull him closer to her. She was desperate for his touch. It may have only been four months instead of the anticipated twelve but Abigail could only seem to think about how terrified she had been when she had caught wind of the mine blowing up. It had been days before she heard from Syverson and as they said, no news was good news but... but things could always go wrong.

Abigail deepened the kiss, digging her nails into his skin. She wasn't looking for the gentle, soft loving that they had on occasion. She needed this and she wasn't even thinking beyond it. "Need you. Need your knot," Abigail breathed against his lips, one hand dropping to Syverson's waist to tug the belt loose on his robe. "Please. Alpha, now."

A low groan rumbled from Syverson's chest when Abigail pulled at his robe. It fell open and he pulled away from her, only for a second, to pull it from his shoulders. It dropped to the bed and in the same instant, Sy was back on top of Abigail. "Oh, you'll get it." Sy's voice was dry and short. Still trying to process all of the emotional turmoil he was going through.

All it had taken was Abigail, feeling her fingers scraping against his skin and her soft, whimpering voice begging for him. He couldn't fight against his instincts. Pressing his lips back to hers, his hands ran down her sides. Syverson couldn't wait, couldn't pull back to give Abigail the time to undress. His hand tangled in the material of her tank top, twisting it around his fist and then abruptly ripping it from her body. He needed her now.

He nipped at her bottom lip, wasting no time in shoving her sleeping shorts down her hips. "You ready for me, 'mega?" He breathed, running his hand over her trembling thigh, before sliding his hand between her legs. He could feel her warmth, his fingers sliding over her slit, smearing her slick around. A devilish smirk appeared on his face, and without waiting for an answer, his hand disappeared away from her. He positioned his tip against her opening, hesitating for just a moment as a shudder ran through his body. He was already so sensitive, so excited. Pushing into her, he groaned, letting his head fall against her shoulder as his hips moved, fucking her hard against the bed.
