Bonnie finished eating shortly after Evie did, rinsing her plate off before walking to the living room. She sat on the floor across from the other girl, watching her. “You know, you’ve really gotten better at this,” she said.

Marie chuckled and nodded her head. “I promise,” she said. “I’ll keep them between me and you.” She took the book from him and opened it, looking at the pictures and giggling.

Evie couldn’t help but blush at Bonnie’s compliment. “It helps I have a really good teacher,” she replied. The redhead knew she wouldn’t be even half as good as she was if it wasn’t for the other witch. “You ready?”

Stefan smiles as he watched Marie look through all the old photos and memories. It was honestly kind of fun to have a semi normal moment with her. She was fun, sweet and loyal; not to mention beautiful. Wait? Did he just saw beautiful? Stefan quickly shook the thought from his head, knowing having feelings for another human could probably just end up in more heartache for him.

Bonnie nodded her head. “Yeah,” she said. She wanted to get this over with. She was tired of worrying about Elena and if the other girl was okay or not.

“These pictures are great,” Marie said, looking up at him and smiling. “I’d show you my old pictures, but they’re way more embarrassing than this.”

Evie closed her eyes, reaching out for Bonnie’s hand before she began saying the locator spell she had been taught. The redhead focused on Elena in her head, her hand twitching in the other witches as she began seeing flashes of images that involved Elena and other things that didn’t make sense.

Evie started saying the spell louder, hoping maybe having more confidence in what she was saying would help, unaware that blood had started spilling down her nose and onto the map in front of the two witches.

“One small perk to being born when I was,” Stefan stated. “No embarrassing baby photos for Damon to pull out when we have guests.”

The younger Salvatore brother probably only had one photo of himself as a baby and it was super old and secretly it was one of his prized possessions because it was of him and his mother.

Bonnie opened her eyes after a moment, frowning when she saw Evie was bleeding. She’d been through this many times before, herself. And she was not about to let Evie go through it too. “Evie,” she said. “Evie, stop. You’re bleeding.”

Marie smiled and laughed softly. “Very true,” she said. “What’s one thing you miss the most from back then?” She was curious. She’d always imagined what it would be like to not be living in modern times. She was sure she wouldn’t last long without her phone.

Evie opened her eyes, her hand going to her nose as she processed what Bonnie said. She looked down at the blood now on her fingers, standing up and walking to her bathroom to clean up. The redhead had felt like she was so close but something was trying to hide Elena.

“Were we close at least,” Evie asked.

“Honestly the only thing I miss from back then is being human,” Stefan admitted.

It was the one thing the younger Salvatore brother rarely admitted but it was true. He missed being human and the things that came with it, even if being a vampire definitely had its perks.

“Possibly, but I’m not letting you hurt yourself over this,” Bonnie said. “We’ll find her another way.” She wasn’t sure how, but they would. They needed the help of a stronger witch.

Marie supposed she should have figured that would be his answer. “Would you take the cure if we found it?” she asked.

Evie walked back over to the map she had set up, blowing out the candles before she noticed the blood that had fallen all pooled in one spot on the map. “Hey Bon,” she mumbled. “I think it worked.” All of the blood was in the shape of a circle around Whitmore College. The redhead looked at Bonnie and bit down on her bottom lip. “Should we check it out?”

Stefan nodded. “I think if the opportunity came I would.” The younger Salvatore brother honestly loathed being a vampire and some days wished for nothing more than to be human.

Bonnie looked at the map. She knew they should probably tell Stefan, but she didn’t want to get him involved in this. She nodded her head. “Yeah,” she said. “We should.” She stood from her spot on the ground. “Don’t tell Stefan. Not yet.”

Marie nodded her head. Her life seemed so small and mundane compared to his. She always wondered what it would be like to be a vampire, ever since she’d found out about them. “So, um, do you want to start preparing for the dance?” she asked after a moment of silence. “We could go get some decorations.”

Evie looked at the map, biting down on her bottom lip before she looked at Bonnie again. “What about Damon,” she asked. “We may need some back up.” The redhead didn’t even know why she suggested bringing him but something told her they needed some vampire back up.

Stefan nodded. “Decorations would be a good start,” he agreed. He stood up, putting away the photo albums as he heard his brother stumble into the house. Stefan sighed softly, waiting for Damon to make an appearance and annoy him. The younger Salvatore, relaxed when he heard his brother walk upstairs and sat back down next to Marie.

“Did Caroline send you a list of things to get yet,” he asked.

Bonnie really didn’t like the idea of bringing Damon along. All he did was cause problems, and not only that, but she didn’t need him trying to take control of the situation. She could handle herself just fine. “If you really think we have to...”

Marie pulled her phone out and nodded her head. “A very long list,” she joked, smiling at him. “I think we could manage most of it. Though, some of these are a bit excessive. But that’s Caroline, I guess.” She stood up and waited for him before walking back out to his car with him.

“Something tells me having a vampire’s help finding another vampire may be the slight advantage that we need,” Evie stated. She sighed softly as she pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed Damon’s number.

The redhead hated the idea of asking Damon but if there was thing she had learned it was that listening to her gut was always a good idea.

“I mean it is Caroline,” Stefan joked. “If it isn’t perfect it isn’t good enough.” It was one thing that Stefan appreciated about the other blonde she always tried to have multiple plans. “So where do you think we should start first,” he asked.

Bonnie watched her, wanting to stop her, to tell her that they could do it on their own. However, she did have a point. She just wished it didn’t have to be Damon. But who else would they ask? Klaus? Yeah right.

Damon hesitated to pick up his phone when he saw Evie was calling him, but something drew him to it. He picked it up. “You again. What do you want now?”

“Probably with the disco ball. Do you have any idea where we could find one of those?” Marie asked. That was probably the most important thing they needed, but she didn’t even know if stores sold them anymore. “We might have to go thrift shopping. Just don’t tell Caroline.”

“I know I’m the last person you want to hear from,” Evie mumbled. “But Bonnie and I think we found Elena.” The redhead glanced over at Bonnie before she began pacing as she continued talking to the vampire. “I-we need back up.”

“I’m sure we can get Caroline to forgive us if it’s perfect,” Stefan grinned. He honestly liked how thrifty and smart Marie was. She was such a sweet girl and the fact she was after everything just proved how amazing and resilient she was.

“Evelyn Fell is asking for my help?” Damon questioned, unable to help the smirk that formed on his face. “Wow. I’m shocked.” Although, he did feel a slight tug on his heartstrings at the mention of finding Elena. He would be lying if he said there weren’t any feelings still there. “Where do you think she is?”

Marie smiled at him and nodded. She did a bit of research on her phone. “We might be able to order one and get it in time for the dance,” she said. “And then we can focus on the other decorations.”

“Will you help or not,” Evie asked. She didn’t want to have to involve Stefan in case it was a dead end but she would if Damon was going to be difficult. “I wouldn’t be asking for help if I didn’t think I-we needed it.”

Stefan smiled. “I’m sure Caroline will be happy about that.” It was definitely nice to have one less thing to worry about even if it was something to just keep his mind off of Elena. “You know you’re a really good friend Marie.”

“Fine,” Damon mumbled. He knew it was only a matter of time until Evie came back asking for his help. But he also wanted to find Elena, if only to help his brother. He hated to admit it, but he didn’t like seeing Stefan in the slump that he was in. This just happened to be one of the times when they were getting along. “I’ll help.”

Marie looked up at him from her phone, biting her lip gently. “I am?” she questioned. That was a dumb question. “I mean… I try to be. This is our senior year, and I just want us all to have a little fun before we graduate, you know? This might be our last chance to make the best of things.”

“Pack light,” Evie mumbled. “We’ll pick you up in an hour.”

The redhead hung up her phone, looking at Bonnie and smiling as she did. “We should probably pack a bag too,” she stated. “I don’t know how long we’ll be at Whitmore.”

“All I’ve ever seen you do is be a good friend,” Stefan stated. “Like right now you’re trying to keep me busy because none of you like seeing me so upset.” The vampire wasn’t stupid. He knew that was the initial reason why Caroline has even forced him to help with the dance.

Bonnie nodded her head. She walked into the bedroom and grabbed a duffel bag, beginning to pack her clothes into it. She grabbed some of Evie’s clothes too, packing them in alongside hers. She was unable to help the smile that formed on her face, thinking about their confessions over breakfast. It was a relief, knowing she wasn’t alone in her feelings for the other girl.

Marie sighed softly. “Fine, you caught me,” she said. “But also, I really just like being your friend, Stefan. Even if I am trying to distract you from everything going on, it’s not because I feel like I have to. It’s because I want to. I like spending time with you.”

Evie bit down on her bottom lip, following Bonnie into the room and kissed her. Now that she had admitted her feelings to the other witch she wanted to kiss her all the time now.

“It’s not a bad thing to want me to be happy,” Stefan stated. “If anything it just shows you’re a good friend.” He stood up, making himself a drink and took a small sip of it. “I’ll be okay,” he promised. “I have an eternity to be.”
