Standing at the side of the ballroom with her closest friends, Aria couldn't help but let out a laugh. Her right hand coming up to cover her mouth as she did so, hiding her open mouth from view as her friend Maria scowled at her. Her friends' hands moved to her hips as she glared at Aria. "It's not funny! It was so scary! I didn't expect the birt to come flying towards me!" It took a couple more moments before Aria managed to calm herself down. A couple of the older people were giving her disapproving looks, but Aria couldn't care. This was the first time in a while that she's been allowed to laugh. A true, honest laugh.
"Sorry, sorry. But how could you not expect the bird to freak out? You put your hand into its cage." Aria murmured, slowly lowering her hand. The corners of her lips twitched as she tried to keep her laughing under control. "Diego said I could pet it! I thought it'd be like a dog and would just stand there so I could pet it." Maria mumbled and crossed her arms over her blue dress as she huffed and looked away in annoyance. "Maria, you're too naive for your good sometimes." Aria's other friend, Rosa said and shook her head at the blonde's annoyance.
A small sigh escaped from Aria as she raised the glass of white wine to her lips. Her fingers holding onto the step gently as she tipped the flute and took a small sip. It's been a while since the three talked together. Since her father's promotion, she's been home more making sure her little brother wasn't causing trouble while her stepmother spent all of the money that her father was now pulling in. Soon, Aria hoped to be gone from this life, doing what she honestly wanted to do.
"You can be so naive sometimes. Why do you always fall for what your older brother says?" Rosa asked and let out a small sigh. A small smile played along Aria's lips as she listened to her friends. Her right hand moved down and picked at invisible dust on her
dress before standing up straight once more and looking around. There was a good mix of Camorra members and rich people who were associated with their life here today. Her bright green eyes roamed the tables where people sat, then to the bar where people were getting drinks. People, people everywhere. A gasp coming from her friends caught Aria's attention and she looked at them in surprise. "He's here, he's here." Maria rushed out. "Who?" Aria asked, her eyes flittering around before she looked towards the table her friend was staring at. "Bones." Was all Maria said before grabbing her friend and forcing her to turn her back to him and causing some wine to splash on her favorite dress. "Don't look at him!" Maria whispered in a harsh tone. "One wrong look and he could explode and break every bone in your body."

Engagement parties. What the fuck was the point of them? Ryder never understood it. Throwing money around to flaunt that a man was going to become a new owner of a pretty little ass that would be willing to spread their legs for them at any given moment? In his younger years, all Ryder had to do was go to a brothel that his family-owned and order one of the whores there to do so. No party was needed to signify that he was going to get laid. He just needed to show his face and everything would fall into place. Yet, once you reach adulthood, everyone expected parties and pleasantries. Which was all bullshit, in Ryder's mind? If Ryder had it his way, he wouldn't be marrying this girl. He'd just take her as a live-in fuck body, but sadly. This wasn't his territory and these people wanted an engagement party and a wedding.
Arriving fashionably late to his engagement party wasn't really in Ryders plans, but it happaned. He had slept in late after having a threesome in his hotel room and had to rush to leave. His jacket lost somewhere in the array of clothing that he left on the floor for the whore to rummage through and come out empty-handed. When he had arrived at the hotel the engagement party was being held in, Antonio was standing at attention and was ready to give him an earful. Being another capo though, he knew better than to do so and frankly Ryder wasn't really in the mood to have to listen to the man complain. He was the one who talked Ryder into marrying his daughter for the sake of peace. Ryder was more than okay with keeping the war going, he wasn't on the losing end. His territory wasn't being attacked constantly by the Russians. Yet.
Following Antonio to the small meeting room that was being used for the blushing bride to get ready, Ryder couldn't help but feel his heart beating rapidly. Was he nervous to meet his bride? Or because he was going to be chained to someone he didn't care about? Not that it'd stop him from going out and fucking whores or anything, no. But the thought that he'd be having someone looking through his shit was surely annoying. Although, once he walked into the room where his bride was waiting for him, it felt like the air from Ryder's lungs was punched out of him. A low whistle escaped from Ryder as his eyes went straight to the tits that were on display for his eyes to see. "Damn." Was all he managed to say, which earned a scowl from Antonio and the girls' mother seemed appalled by his word choice?
Dressed in plain black slacks, black dress shoes, and black shirt, you'd think that Ryder was going to a funeral. Now take into account him standing next to a beauty like Aerie? Well, they surely won't be winning a couple of the year. His eyes slowly shifted up towards the beauty's face after staring at her chest for a while. "I'd like a moment alone with Aerie." Was all Ryder said before raising his gaze towards Antonio and his wide. His right eyebrow arching as he dared for them to argue the soon to be a married couple a couple of moments to get to know each other.
