Nodding she's smiled, she'd not spent much time in the city. Her few doctors appointments were spent going over her options which always left her numb and just wanting to sleep. The medicine on top of didn't help. So this was new for her as well.

Mason smiled at her "it'll be good news, if not you don't have to do it alone anymore," he said softly.

Emery smiled over at him, she wanted to lean over and kiss him. But she couldn't and had to focus back on the road. "I know." She told him, gently placing her hand on top of his. "Today is going to be a good day." She told him firmly. Knowing that even if there was bad news she would fight and win again.

Mason relaxed back an kept quiet unless she spoke as they made it to the city. He looked at her as she pulled up at the doctor's office

Sighing as she parked the car she looked over at him, "thank you for coming." She knew this was something big and she'd never wanted to share it with anyone before. So it was scary to her yet she was happy he was there. Exiting the car she made her way into the office. Before giving her name at the receptionist, then moving to take a seat. Now the wait until she actually got to see the doctor. "And now the boring part." She teased as she sat down beside Mason.

Mason chuckled softly and followed her to the seat. "Well, hopefully the wait wont be too long," he said. He took her hand holding it lightly. "Why did you pick a doctor out of town?" he asked

Emery let out a soft chuckle, it usually depended on how many people actually needed to see the doctor. "Well she's the doctor who remover my mass, and she happens to specialize in breast cancer. And has extreme compassion for women and won't mangle them if there is so possibility to keep their breast." She had a few reasons why she was her doctor but those were the few that made the most differences.

Mason nodded, "that makes sense, I just wondered," he said softly. He put his arm around her, "she did a good job, you have great breasts," he whispered softly.

Emery let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head as a few of the women in the room peered over at them. She knew that being in a place like this wasn't what most of them would expect from a woman as young as her. "Well nature did most of that." She told him, knowing that she had great breast before the operation.

Emery was about to tease him some more when the back door opened. "Ms. Grayson." The nurse called out. "Come on." She told Mason as she stood smiling at the nurse. Following her through the door. "Step on the scale." She told her as she rounded the corner, before complying with the woman's wishes. "137, seems you've lost quite a bit of weight." The nurse said turning to her chart. "College student don't eat like I should." She told her, knowing that some of the extra activities could play in the drop as well. "Okay." She said letting them into a room, closing the door behind her before taking her pulse and blood pressure. "Alright, the doctor wants to do some scans. So we'll take you to get that done." She smiled at her, before Emery nodded. "I'll be back." She told Mason placing a kiss to the side of his lips. Then exited the room with the nurse. After following her for what felt like for ever she finally got her Mammogram done, then headed back to the room. Now to wait. Entering the room she smiled at Mason, pulling on her shirt as she'd had to lift it do the x-ray.

Mason followed her out to the exam room, and sat with her. He smiled gently, and nodded as she went for her scan. "So now we wait, and hope its clear," he said softly as she came back. He moved over and hugged her lightly.

Emery held onto him resting her head on his shoulder as she waiting for the scans to come back. "Ms. Grayson." Greeted Dr. Stone. "and guest." She chuckled seeing Mason. "Hello Dr. Stone." Emery greeted her, pulling away from Mason. Then moving to the table knowing that she was going to be checking her breast next. "So you're scans appear to be clean." She told her placing the x-ray up, letting them look over the scan. "If you see this shadow spot it's where the mass used to be and it's filling in with scar tissue which is a good sign." She told her, before moving over to her. "So next is the breast examination." Dr. Stone hinted. "It's fine he's my boyfriend." She chuckled knowing that she'd expected him to want to leave for this part. "Okay well then let's see those stitches." Emery nodded before pulling her shirt up, she'd not bothered with wearing a bra. "It's healing nicely," she said before she started to examine her breast. "I want to leave the stitches in for a few more weeks." She told her, knowing that you couldn't be to careful with breast tissue. "We can also do another scan if it makes you feel better. But thing looks great so normally we'd wait 6 months." Dr. Stone explained.

Mason sat quietly and just let her listen to the doctor. He smiled sweetly at her as the doctor said the scan was clear. He held her hand lightly, standing up to move beside her, "is there anything she should avoid doing to eating to improve her odds?" he asked

A diet that could ward off cancer really doesn't look that different from the healthy foods you should be eating anyway."(ei all this came from WebMD) Dr. Stone told Mason smiled at Emery. "He's a keeper." She chuckled, knowing that most people that came to these types of appointments were not curious with ways to keep cancer from coming back they were just thankful it was gone. And she had to remind them to take care of themselves which they didn't listen to usually. But she'd spent some time with Emery before and after her surgery and she knew the girl was a health nut so it was a bit of a shocker to see her with cancer. But no one could answer why you get cancer. "Any other questions?" She asked mainly Mason as she'd went over a lot of things with Emery upon her exit of the hospital. She knew that she'd gotten quite a bit of information shoved on her shoulders in a short period of time, but that was what the pamphlets were for. However she assumed she'd not shared them with Mason. "There are a few pamphlets out in the waiting room, they cover pretty much everything, so feel free to grab some on your way out. They'll also help you be better prepared for any other questions next time." She added.

Mason smiled and listened to the doctor, "No, no other pressing questions," he said softly. He took Emery's hand, "I have an idea of what to look for," he told the doctor. He pulled Emery closer, "are there any more tests or check you need to get done? or any questions you have?" he asked her.

Smiling at the couple Dr. Stone shook her head. "No everything looks good, keep the stitches clean, you know what you're doing." She smiled not seeing any inflammation around the wound. Not having felt anything in her breast either. "So I'll see you back in say two weeks, we'll look over those stitches and go from there okay?" She nodded when Emery agreed. "Nice to meet you and see you both." She told them before exiting the room.

Emery pressed her head into Mason's shoulder before placing a kiss on his chest. "Ready to go?" She questioned him, feeling a high right now. No sign of cancer. This however was just the start of it. She still had years of prevention to keep it away. Pulling back from him she stood up fixing her shirt a bit better, before moving to the door. She was happy the waiting was over, it had been worth it for that sliver of good news.

Mason nodded, "of course, so celebration? any idea what you want to do?" he asked softly with a smile. He stood up, and helped her straighten her shirt, so it covered her properly.
