  • Grant looked at her, and sighed, "yeah, and I'd kinda like to take it out," he said softly. He led her further down the alley, checking back doors, praying one would be unlocked. He let out a sigh of relief when he found one that opened. "Sorry, Its just, it's been awhile since I've had to deal with anyone," he said softly. He led her into the building, and found a seat.

Grant looked at her, "I'm sure your mind is full of questions," he said.

Aeri trailed after him, her brows furrowed as she tried to figure out what he was doing. She didn't know what to think of this man. He didn't seem like someone who socialized much. And it wasn't a problem with her as she wasn't staying with him long. He was just a glorified baby sitter. She was already feed up with him and just really wanted to go shopping. Get all this anxiety out of her system. "I can tell." She snapped back at him, sighing as knew it wasn't going to do her any good right now. "How the hell do you plan on getting that out?" She asked, stepping closer, though she didn't want to get to close and accidentally hurt him.

  • Grant smirked when he heard her smart ass comment. He started searching through his bag, "The same way, I took all the other ones out," he said softly. He pulled out a knife from the bag, and a strip of cloth. He smiled, "but that wasn't the questions I was talking about," he added.

Grant bit down on the cloth, and started to dig into the wound with his knife. He grunted at the pain, but continued to work the bullet out. Eventually, after a while of careful digging, the bullet dropped to the floor. Grant opened his mouth letting the cloth fall, "now I just have to stitch it up," he said softly.

Aeri paced back and forth, trying not to let his eyes look at what he was doing. It wasn't until the sound of something hitting the floor did she turned to look. Watching as the bullet rolled away from where he was sat. "I'm used to my father freaking out, and sending me away." She told him, rolling her eyes. "So why is this any different?" She questioned him. Just because this guy shows up out of nowhere doesn't mean thing aren't going to blow over in like 3 hours. Her father will be sitting down for drinks and cigars.

"How can you do that?" She asked, wondering if she should help him. "Did you need help?" She felt nervous but she would still be happy to help.

  • Grant looked at her, and smiled softly. "Maybe because he sent you away with a stranger," he said gently. He shrugged, "practice, I guess, when you're in a warzone, cut off from base, you need to make do," he added. He shook his head, pulling out a thread and working to stitch it himself.

"I suppose I should just tell you," he commented. He frowned slightly, "Your father is pretty sure someone is trying to take over, from inside the family," he said. "So you are stuck with me, until he sorts it," he told her

Aeri rolled her eyes, "really and what are the numerous amounts of men he has around me?" She asked rhetorically. "I can't remember their names half the time." She scoffed. Knowing that all the men that worked for him were strangers, he just trusted them as they were easily swayed. "You're no different." She added, before sighing watching as he started to stitch himself up. Not believe just how well he managed to do that. But she froze when he told her that there was forced inside the family business trying to take it down. "Are you fucking kidding me?" She questioned, "that stupid son of a bitch." She growled hating that her father kept these things from her. "And what the hell am I suppose do with you?" She knew it wasn't entirely the right question. But she needed to know what they were going to be doing, and going.

  • Grant smirked when she mentioned he was no different to the men Stefano kept around. "He saved my life when we were younger," he said lightly. "He was the reason my record remained clean so I could enlist," he added. He finished patching himself up, and wiped his arm clean.

He looked at her, "My job, as I told you, is to keep you alive, your father called me, because he didn't know he could trust anyone else," he said. He frowned, "which means, any safehouses he normally uses, any accounts he uses, anything attached to him, could lead his enemies to you," he said. He moved closer, "If they get you, he would die to get you back, and once they get what they want, theyd just kill you anyway," he commented.

He pulled his bag onto his shoulder, "so I'm going to take you away, someplace safe, where we can see them coming, if they do," he said.

Aeri felt the fight leave her when he mentioned that everything she was thinking was full of holes. Sighing she rubbed her face, "where the hell is that?" She questioned him, still feeling like she wanted to just rip him to pieces. She knew it wasn't his fault but he was standing there relaying the information to her. She just wanted to relax out in the sun somewhere and let all her worries fade away. Or go on a shopping spree. Just anything to get away from all the chaos.

  • Grant looked at her, "Somewhere I know well, I'm taking you to my place," he said softly. He looked at her, and sighed softly, "Sorry you got mixed up in this," he said lightly. He moved to the door, "come on we should get moving," he told her.

Aeri felt rather insulted that he would just assume she would go to his place. But her mind quickly flipped a switch, this was a man trying to protect her not pick her up. Shaking the thoughts from her mind she followed him back out to the bike. Unsure if she should get on first or if he wanted her to ride behind him this time.

  • Grant kept silent, as he carefully tied the bag onto the bike. He then climbed onto it, "okay are you comfortable holding on behind me?" he asked her. "Or would you prefer to be infront?" he added. He was thankful that it still appeared for now that they hadn't been followed.

Aeri watched as he worked before getting on to the back. "It'd be kind of obvious if I rode in front right?" She questioned, before slipping on the back of the bike. "I think I'll be fine." She told him getting as comfortable as she could. It wasn't until he stated the bike and started to drive that she, quickly wrapped her hands around his waist.

  • Grant nodded, "yeah I suppose it would be," he agreed. He then started to make his way out of the city, "So we are going to have a little problem," he said softly, "all the stuff you packed, we are not going to pick it up," he added.

Aeri frowned hearing his words, but she'd figured it would most likely be the case. Things didn't seem to be going her way today. "And what do you think we should do then?" She asked him, knowing that she more than likely wasn't going to like his answer to that question. But he had told her he was going to keep her safe. But if he dare to try and put her in any Wal-Mart clothing she'd run away.

  • Grant sighed softly, "well I think first, get you safe, then second we buy you some supplies," he said lightly. He could just tell, she wouldn't be happy with her options though, not to mention where he was taking her. Grant kept riding, quickly running several red lights, and taking a couple of illegal turns, to make the trip faster, and also to see if they were being followed by any cars.

Frowning she didn't offer any sort of rebuttal, knowing it wouldn't matter if she did. And it wasn't like she could get off a moving vehicle. So she just bit her lip and kept quite. Figuring he knew best. Though she didn't know if she'd be up for much of anything by the time they reached their destination. As she could feel herself getting tired, and on top of that she'd barely eaten anything today. So she just wanted to go home, eat, shower, and rest up.

  • Grant kept riding, as the maze of city streets tapered off into highway. He pulled over at a rest stop, and turned the bike off. "Right, take some money, buy a phone, and some food," he said lightly handing her a stack of notes from the duffel bag. He smiled softly, "I'll stay here, and watch the road," he said.

Grant could sense she was still, troubled by something, and knew he just had to make it home.

Taking the money from him she headed into the store, walking the isle until she found the phones. Grabbing one she didn't even look at prices, then she ventured into the next looking at the options. She wasn't much for chips and soda. But it looked like that was all they got, expect for the deli food. Grabbing a couple of bottles of water, and a bag of chips. She dared to look into the case of food. Her stomach growling, but her lip pulled up in disgust. Heading to the counter she placed all the items down before asking for a few things from the deli. She didn't know what he want to eat, let alone would eat. The guy behind the counter gave kept throwing looks her way. But she didn't pay any attention, just dropped the money on the counter and exited the establishment, bag in hand. Digging through it as she walked towards him she quickly pulled out a chicken strip and took a bite. "Hungry?" She asked him, before placing the bag down on the bike. Digging around in it for the bottle of water.

  • Grant kept watch, taking the time to tidy himself up some more, and move things around on the bike, so they fit better. He looked up when she came back, "yes thank you," he said lightly. He pulled out something to eat, and snacked on it. "So now that we have a minute Aeri, what were your plans for the day, before all of this craziness?" he asked. He just wanted to get her talking, get to know her a little better.
