Sophia had known this day was coming. The longer the war raged on, the stronger and more powerful Christian's kingdom became. The weaker hers became. She had heard tale of what Christian's kingdom was capable of, how they treated their omega as second class citizens who had no rights. These were all rumours that she prayed weren't true but the feeling in the pit of her stomach told her that they had to be at least partially true. The thought terrified her because while her kingdom had never been large or rich, at least she had been treated with respect as a princess deserved to be.
She had said a tearful goodbye to her parents before she left them, placed inside of a carriage that was on the long trip to Christian's kingdom. Her parents could not accompany her because the kingdom was in dire need of leadership. She couldn't help but wonder if it would be the last time she ever saw them. She could only hope that Christian would aide her family since she would soon be his omega, the queen by his side.
The morning that they were set to arrive in his city, Sophia had cleaned up the best as she could and pulled on her favourite dress that she had brought along. Her hair was pulled back into an elaborate braid, fit for a queen. As they neared his kingdom, the more and more afraid she became. What if Christian was the alpha king that he was rumoured to be?
It left a sour taste in her mouth and she was sure her scent had soured, indicating just how nervous and afraid she was as the carriage came to a stop just outside of his castle. Sophia staid in her seat, her head hung as she waited for the carriage door to open. The moment that it did, Sophia rose to her feet and inched forward. She didn't dare raise her head, remembering all of her tails. She wasn't about to test her luck. Even as she came to a stop a few feet in front of him, Sophia gathered her skirts before she curtsied in front of him.
Once she had risen, Sophia's voice was quiet, timid as she spoke. "Your country is beautiful."
