I have started writing a story titled, Welcome to the Family. It's been in the works for a long time & I've had writers block for months, maybe even a couple years. I just started getting back at it again & I'm kind of stumped on where to go from here. First of all, this is a fan fiction story about Avenged Sevenfold. The summary of this story is this; Jasmine is in college, getting ready to graduate. All her life, it's only been her & her mom. Her dad was never in the picture & her mom would never talk about him, never answered any questions, never had pictures of him or offer to let her see any pictures of him. Jasmine knows absolutely nothing about her dad. Until graduation day, her mom finally cracks under all of the continual questions that Jasmine has about her dad. Jasmine winds up meeting him & it doesn't go well. Right now in the story, Jasmine just moved into her own place with the help of her dad, who is now trying to be a part of her life having felt guilty now from not having been there before. Now, here's my dilemma; I need some problematic issues to occur between Jimmy (Jasmine's dad) & Jasmine. Some father/daughter issues. Does anyone have any ideas about what I could throw in here to make it more interesting? I'm hoping that whatever I decide to go with, I can eventually resolve between them in the end, but if I find one that's really good that can't really avoid a resolution, I'll take that, too. Any suggestions and ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Oh, I have some ideas, but to be honest, writing is something personal. I think you have to choose something that "speaks" to you

Yes, I totally agree with the previous comment. Asking somewhere for writing advice, whether it's about the plot or main characters, is not good. I've never done it before, and I'm sure I won't have such intention any time sooner. For me, writing is more than a hobby, and even when I have to write an academic paper, I have the same attitude. Some time ago, I was writing about the generation gap and spent so much time researching to write a detailed and interesting paper. This source https://paperap.com/free-papers/generation-gap/ helped me the most from those I found because there, I had a chance to read different articles related to the generation gap. And after reading them, I managed to add some more interesting information. I had a problem with writing one part of the paper, and I also wanted to ask for advice, but I managed to do everything myself.
