A shrill screech broke through her room, as Orchid rocketed up in bed. Blankets and pillows were thrown everywhere, toppling down to the floor by the bed. Her hands eagerly shot to her throat, running over the soft, fragile skin. Delicate enough to just slice open. She was fine, it had just been a nightmare. Such a vivid, realistic nightmare. Birds were chirping through the windows and the sun was beginning to stream into the room. Her light green eyes slowly examined the room, beginning to shake the sleep from her bones.
Today was the day! All forgetting about her nightmare, brushing it off as a rare occurrence, Orchid pushed the rest of the blankets off of her and jumped from the bed. What time was it? The clock hanging in the hallway told her was almost half past ten. Sy would be home any minute. It had been months since she had seen him, and knowing soon she'd be back in his arms... That did enough to make her jittery. Running into the bathroom, she hopped into the shower, being careful to shave every last inch of her body for him. He liked her soft and smooth, not one stray hair to be seen. After getting dressed in something she hoped would excite him, she made sure her hair was curled and her makeup looked perfect. She wanted to look perfect for him, his little gift once he'd arrive.
Orchid was mostly excited that her daddy would be home, to take care of her. He loved taking care of her. Syverson was an outstanding man. You couldn't find an alpha who loved and cared for his omega more. And he continually deployed, working his way up the ranks to try and make the world a better place for omegas everywhere. Even when he was home, he'd campaign for omega equality rights. Orchid couldn't find a better man to admire.
Before Sy even stepped foot on the porch, Orchid could smell him. His scent was so strong, always. Heavy and potent enough to dominate over any other alphas aroma. Exotic spices and burning wood, it was so warm and inviting. "Daddy's home!" She squealed, running to meet him the second he pulled the door open. Orchid wasted no time, barely taking a second to even look at the man before she was in his arms. "I've missed you so much!" Tears were already in her eyes as she snaked her arms around his muscular center. Something was wrong though, his scent... Was that sulfur? It was off, smelled rancid. Not bitter or soured like when he was angry or sad, no, this was different. This was wrong.
Pulling away from him, her eyes slowly ran up to meet his face, his eyes still shielded by his sunglasses. It...looked like Sy. Just didn't smell like him. Hesitantly, Orchid pulled away, though her hands lingered on his sides, "I'm so happy you're home."
