Ori frowned as she sat handcuffed to the little chair in the police station. Officers desks were all around her, a couple cells too and she was just glad they hadn't locked her up in one of those again. That was much more embarrassing. "Bye, Clara!" Ori smiled, waving Clara Marshall goodbye as the detectives daughter left. Sometimes she brought him lunch on the weeks she was with her mom. She was really nice and the girls had become friends despite Walter's obvious distaste for the relationship.

"Attention, star whatever," an officer tried grabbing Ori's attention.

"Well, actually it's a constellation named after a Greek myth-" the officer struck her across the face, causing her head to snap to the left. Ori loved being a smart ass when she could and lucky for her, the police here didn't hit too hard.

"You speak when I say you can," he barked in her face. This man seemed to have an authority complex or something. Ori pressed herself back into the chair as far away from the man as she could. Over his shoulder, she could see Clara's dad, sitting at his desk with his arms crossed over his chest. Just watching. Suddenly, the officer grabbed her chin and forced her to look back at him. "This is the third time this month you've run away from your foster family and been found with drugs, what is your fucking problem, girl!?"

To her, it sounded very overdramatic. She hadn't ran away, she'd only snuck out. And drugs, that was laughable. Her and some other homeless friends were in the park tripping on shrooms. It wasn't like it was heroine or meth. Seemed like there should be a distinction made. Ori didn't answer though, knowing the officer didn't actually want her to.

"Well, your family wants you to learn a lesson this time, so how does a night in the police station sound?" The officer smirked, unlocking her handcuff from the seat before dragging her up, leading her towards one of the two cells they kept in the building, down the hall.

The officer pressed Ori up against the brick wall across from the cells and patted her down. His hands went slow, enjoying his time exploring her body and groping her ass. Pulling her phone from her pocket, he smirked and grabbed her by the hair and tossed her into the cell, locking the door in place. "Fucking prick," Ori spat, cringing from the man's touch as she rubbed her head.

The officer unlocked her phone, ignoring her as he went through her messages, "Oh, do you think Detective Marshall would like to know your making plans to hang out with Clara this weekend?" Ori felt a pit open in her stomach knowing exactly how Walter felt about her, especially her hanging out with Clara...

"Don't, c'mon, stop it," she frowned, her voice trembling though she tried to come off not so worried about it. The officer just smirked and turned to leave the room. Fuck...

God damnit, no! Spending the night in the police station was the worst. They usually just forgot about all about having anyone locked up. Ori remembered almost pissing on herself last time, shouting for someone to come let her use the bathroom.

Marshall leaned back in his chair, his arms crossed as he watched the other officer berate Orion. Some very small part of him, it probably felt bad for her. She was a misled girl who desperately needed some sort of structure in her life, if she wanted any chance at getting a normal life. But there was nothing for her, there never would be. Orion was a lost cause as far as he was concerned. He hardly batted an eye as he watched the officer shove her against a wall before groping her. There was no point in it, she had been cuffed to the chair for the better part of the hour. But there was some sort of perverse desired to display their power that seemed to bleed into each and every officer that worked in the precinct.

When she disappeared into the cell, Marshall's attention turned back to the report that he was writing. He let out a sigh, dragging his hand down his face before he tried to force himself to focus. No part of him wanted to be writing this but he couldn't drag himself away from it. There was no chance of going home until he finished it. But at least if he dragged it out, Marshall wouldn't have to go home to an empty house.

The officer approached his desk with a sneer on his face as he slammed down the phone on top of the papers that Marshall had been trying to fill out. "This important?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as he leaned back in his chair.

"Yeah. You might want to look at the messages on there. Thought you might find it interesting.."

Marshall's brows pulled together as he reached out for the phone, his eyes scanning over the messages in front of him. They meant nothing to him until he realized that it was Clara who Orion had been texting. His sweet babygirl was trying to hang out with Orion, a girl he knew that he couldn't trust as far as he could throw her? There was no way in hell that was going to happen.

Pushing to his feet, Marshall shoved the phone into his pocket as he stormed toward Orion's holding cell. He dragged the door open with little warning before he stepped inside, a sneer settled on his face. "You wanna explain what the hell this is about?" He spat as he pulled the phone free from his pocket before shoving it in her direction. "Because to me, it looks like you're trying to corrupt my girl and that's not gonna happen. She doesn't need to be hanging out with the likes of you."

Marshall was glaring, his chest heaving with the effort of each breath that he took. "You're lucky I let her talk to you when she stops by," he whispered as he knelt down in front of her, a sneer settled on his features. "But then you keep trying to hang out with her? So you can, what? Get her addicted, too? So you can try to make a pretty penny off of her, huh?!"

Ori looked up from the little bench she was resting on when she already heard the door opening again. She already knew who it was, already knew what was coming. Still, she flinched when his voice echoed through the room, afraid to look up at him until he was shoving the phone in her direction. It was such a dumb thing to be angry over, literally texting about going to see a movie, after school. Ori let her eyes drop to the floor, her whole body tensing as he continued to berate her.

She sucked her bottom lip between her teeth, chewing on it in an attempt to keep herself quiet. Until the detective started throwing out assumptions. "What do you think I am?" Ori tilted her head to look up at him. She was a sixteen year old kid and he was trying to make her seem like she was some dangerous criminal. If Marshall even knew what his little girl liked doing, talking to older men online and the alcohol problem she had... But Ori wasn't about to throw her friend under the boss.

"She invited me to go see a movie with like three other people I don't even know, she was just trying to be nice to me. I wasn't even going to go." That's how Ori decided to spin it, trying to make Marshall think that she was just a charity case to his daughter. It made Ori so mad though, that for the last four years she'd been in the system, these cops had never once actually tried to help her. Not even when the first few foster families were abusing her. All because of who her mom had been, just a pathetic druggie. She was locked away now and Ori hadn't spoken to her in years.

Marshall scoffed, squaring his shoulders as he glared at Orion. The thought that she was trying to push the blame off on him was enough to make his blood boiled. He sneered as he reached forward, tasting a fistful of her hair as he sneered. "Don't ever try to put the blame on someone else. That's the problem with people with you, isn't it?" Marshall snarled as he pulled her so close that his breath tickled her skin with each word that he spoke.

"The world's against you. Everyone is out to get you. You can never accept any of the blame for yourself because that would mean accepting that you control your own fate!" Marshall was practically screaming by the end of it, shoving Orion away from him. Marshall pushed back to his feet, glaring down at Orion as he shook his head. "You're unbelievable. Gonna be lucky if I let Clara even wave at you... tryin' to act like this is somehow her fault!"

Marshall exhaled slowly, reminding himself that he couldn't completely lose his temper on Orion. A slap or two here or there didn't matter and wouldn't raise questions but he could throw her across the room without breaking a sweat. "Tell me. If you'd had it your way, would Clara have been with you tonight? Would she have been dragged in here, right along with you? Huh?"

Orion's hands shot to her head, where his hands tangled in her hair. "T-that's not how I-I meant it," she choked out, her hand grasping at his, trying to pry it away from her. "I-I'm not, I-I," Ori felt tears burn her eyes, his words cutting her deep. She forced herself to look up at him, flinching away from him as he screamed into her face. Ori couldn't even enjoy the relief when he let her go, because her side smacked harshly into the brick wall of the cell.

Her arms wrapped around her torso as she sunk down into the corner of the cell, trying to hide herself away. Her heart was racing and she was actually afraid, worried if Marshall was really going to hurt her. "I-I just didn't want you to be mad at Clara for inviting me somewhere, I-I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean-" Tears poured down Ori's face. Everything Marshall said was true, Clara was too good to be her friend anyway. They were from two separate worlds and Marshall was certainly reminding her of that right now.

Ori grew up in a shitty trailer park, where from the she of six she was left home alone so her mom could go prostitute herself. Sometimes they made meth in the kitchen. It was a miracle her mom stayed alive and out of jail to see Ori turn thirteen. Now she was sixteen and had been in twelve different foster homes.

"No... No," Ori shook her head, pulling her knees up to her chest as she tried to make herself as small as possible. Marshall was probably the only officer in this building she was actually afraid of.

Marshall sneered, glaring down at the girl in front of him. He kicked his foot out, not caring where it landed so long as he got what he wanted out of Orion. Her on her back, staring up at him, timid and afraid because Marshall held all of the control here. "Still just wanting to put all the blame on my little girl," he spoke dryly, giving a roll of his eyes as he glared down at her form. "You're just like your mother, you know that?" He quipped. Marshall had met Orion's mother, knew her by name before he had even seen Orion for the first time.

"Useless. A menace to society," Marshall snapped, setting his foot on Orion's chest. It would have been so easy if he just put a bit of weight on her chest, Orion wouldn't be able to breathe. The sense of power that Marshall felt sent blood rushing to his cock and he had to fight back a groan at the mere thought of what Orion would look like, squirming beneath him for other reasons.

"Just want to put your problems on everyone else," Marshall added with another humourless laugh. "It's laughable, you know? Thinking that you could ever amount to anything more than the path that your mother set out for you. You'll be lucky to ever do anything that has meaning in your life. And you sure as hell won't ever be talking to Clara again. 'Cause if I ever catch you speaking to her.. you're done. If you think this little night in a holding cell is bad, it'll be nothing compared to where I put you. Do you understand me, little girl?"

Ori gasped when Marshall's boot gently pressed down on her chest. Her hands shot around the ankle of his boot, squeezing it tightly to try and keep him from applying more pressure. "D-don't talk about her," Ori snapped, unable to keep her mouth shut. She knew her mother hadn't been a stand up citizen, but she wasn't garbage. Everyone had their demons and regardless, that was still her mom. Marshall put more of his weight onto Ori's chest and she gasped for air, feeling like her ribcage was cracking under his foot.

"Y-Yes," she croaked, saying whatever she hoped would get his foot off of her chest. Her body relaxed against the floor when Marshall removed his boot, her arms falling to her sides against the concrete ground. Tears burned the corner of her eyes, her breath caught in the back of her throat. Clara was even older than Ori and yet this was all of her fault? Rolling onto her side, she curled into a ball, trying her best to ignore the sounds of Marshall's boots on the ground as he left her cell.
Of course, Clara didn't stop talking to Ori. Even when Ori tried, telling her what her father had done, Clara just seemed annoyed. I can't believe he did that! I'm so sorry... The detectives daughter refused to let Ori to bail out on their weekend plans and that Friday night, they were partying into Saturday morning. When both girls were too smashed to stand up, Clara had insisted Ori share her Uber ride home. And when they got there, Clara snuck the homeless sixteen year old into her room.

Ori knew better, that this was only going to end badly... But Clara promised her dad got up every morning at 4am for work, so she'd still be around long after her dad would leave. That was the only reason Ori agreed to stay, that and Clara wouldn't let her leave even if she tried.

The next morning, both girls had hangovers, and when Clara got up for her Saturday morning college classes, she forgot to check and make sure her dad was gone to the station. Ori was still passed out in Clara's bed, underneath her blankets and the nineteen year old decided to just let the girl sleep. Assuming everything was fine.

Marshall was more than a bit relieved to have the day off. He slept in well past eleven, groaning as he started to come to. Marshall dragged his hand up, rubbing against his cheek to bring some life into himself. When he lifted his head and checked his phone,
Marshall saw that it was nearly twelve in the afternoon. He started grumbling to himself as he pushed to his feet, trudging into the bathroom before heading down to the kitchen to start a pot of coffee.

Once he was satisfied the coffee was going, Marshall started back up the stairs to wake Clara. He was convinced that his daughter had probably skipped her Saturday classes like she usually did. Marshall wasn't always home to push her out the door but he thought that he could at least wake her and they could have brunch together. It wasn't often that they actually got to spend time together so Marshall was looking forward to it.

He pushed open Clara's bedroom door and inched inside, not wanting to scare her awake. "Hey, sweetheart. How abou-" Marshall's words cut off when he stepped up to her bed and reached out to gently shake her awake. Marshall's shoulders pulled together as he looked from one side to the other, not spotting Clara anywhere in the room.

Marshall snarled as he shoved her off of the bed, his mood souring completely. "Where the fuck is Clara? An' more importantly, what the fuck are you doing in MY house?!" Marshall's voice was booming by the time he finished, his hands balled into tight fists.

Ori hit the floor with a thud, waking up the second Marshall's hands had smacked into her sides. The blankets and a few pillows toppled over the side with Ori and she whined, opening her heavy eyelids slowly at first. He wasn't supposed to be home... Fuck... she remembered his threat from her last time in the station, 'cause if I ever catch you speak to her...you're done.' So what was the punishment for him catching her... in his home?

Scrambling backward, Ori's dark hair was in messy, tattered braids, her eyeliner smeared from the night before. "s-she went to class," Ori frowned, grabbing one of the blankets to pull up to hide her chest. In her drunken state, she had undressed and fallen asleep in only her bra and underwear. Not exactly what she'd prefer to be wearing in front of Marshall. Ori was terrified, not even knowing what to say to him. She was dead, that was the end of it. But maybe that was better than being homeless? Ori knew it would be pointless to tell Marshall this had been Clara's idea, that she'd refused to let Ori just leave, but she knew he wouldn't listen. No, that would just be putting the blame on someone else.

"I-I'm s-sorry," Ori held the blankets tightly against her chest, her thighs trembling against the cold wooden floor. "Just let me get dressed, I-I'll leave... I'm sorry," Ori continued to scoot backwards, until her back was pressed against the wall.

Marshall simply stood, watching Orion scramble away from him. He wasn't surprised to see the fear written all over her face. He knew the size difference between them, he knew that he held all the power here. He knew her story, it was a sad one, sure, but Marshall just saw it as another reason to look down on her. Orion had a helluva challenge in front of her but she could have changed her life if she had put her best foot forward. She was the one that had chosen to run away, she was the one that had put herself right where she was now.

"What did I tell you last time I saw you?" Marshall asked, his voice cutting through the silence that had settled between them. His words were surprisingly gentle despite how he had screamed at her even moments ago.

Marshall cleared his throat as he stepped toward Ori, closing the distance in deliberate steps. "I told you, you were done. Didn't I?" Marshall tested in a low voice, tugging his pants up just enough that he could kneel comfortably. "Didn't I, Orion?" He asked, reaching forward to cup her cheek.
