Ailuin let out a sigh as Hanvosi told them the time, pressing a kiss to the top of his mate's head. "I'm going to have to let go so I can get dressed and so Hanvosi can work on your wings, ok? I'm sure if you're nice and follow his instructions he'll do his best to get done as quickly as possible, and I promise that we can snuggle again later." He murmured softly, pulling back a bit so that he could press a kiss to her lips before fully untangling himself from her, sitting at the edge of the bed so he could stretch before standing. "Plus Bridis and Ramyth might be here for breakfast soon. Although I'm not sure, given they also went to bed late and have probably slept in."
Bridris snuggled closer into his arms as he rubbed her back, stifling a little yawn as her eyes started to fall shut. She hummed a bit as she listened to him, retuning his kiss before giving a little nod. "I know.. I love you, Ramyth." She murmured softly. She'd settled down and was almost ready to fall asleep when Ramyth answered her question, opening her eyes slowly to look at him before she began to scoot away from him, giving him more room to lay on his stomach. "There. Now you can be comfortable when you sleep." It wasn't as warm here as it was wrapped up in his arms, but if her being right next to him meant he couldn't have a comfortable sleep she didn't mind moving.

Aubrius wasn’t ready to get up yet, but given that it was so close to the ceremony, she understood why Ailuin needed to get up. She was sure he had to be there early anyway. Reluctantly, she returned his kiss and let him go, stretching as he got up. “They said they’ll be here for breakfast, so I’m sure they’ll be here,” she told Ailuin, and after she checked with Hanvosi to make sure he wanted her on her stomach, she moved to the edge of the bed and did just that so he could start working on her wing. “I’m going to the ceremony too, right?” she asked with a yawn, still working on getting the sleepiness out of her system.

Hanvosi rolled his eyes at Aubrius’s question as he started to unwrap the bandage from around her wing. “I won’t know until I get the salve off your wing and start trying to heal the wound underneath. Have some patience.” He glanced over at Ailuin. “Go on and do what you need to. I’ll work on her and if you aren’t here when I find out whether she can go or not, I’ll send word.”
“I love you too,” Ramyth said, giving her a little squeeze, although he noticed that she seemed to have settled a bit and suspected that she was getting ready to fall asleep soon. He was surprised when, in response to his answer about how his wings normally rested, she moved away to give him room to lay on his stomach like he normally did. He hadn’t suspected that was why she was asking. He reached out and pulled her back into his arms though, holding her close. “I’m comfortable like this,” he said softly, tucking his nose into her hair as he let his eyes close again.

Ailuin smiled and gently ran his fingers through Aubrius' hair once she'd moved for Hanvosi, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I'm sure you'll be fine, Aub, but only if Hanvosi says it's ok." He nodded a little when he was told to go while he worked on his mate, not really wanting to leave her side but knowing that he had to. "I won't be long, I promise. Just need to check in with the council and make sure they're not going to get pissy when Bridris and Aubrius are part of the ceremony." He explained as he tugged on his dressing robe, not feeling like getting dressed yet in the hopes it would make his conversation with the council shorter, before slipping out of the room so Hanvosi could work.
Bridris hummed a little as he tugged her back, opening her eyes to look at him. "But you can't lay on your stomachs like this.." she pointed out softly as she ran her fingers through his hair, eyes soon closing again. It was too warm and cozy wrapped up in Ramyth's arms for her to fight of sleep, and it wasn't long until her breathing evened out and she was sound asleep. For not getting to sleep for quite some time she woke up on the early side the next morning, letting out a little groan as she stretched and snuggled back into Ramyth's arms, tugging the blankets tighter around her to hide from the sunlight coming into her room.

Aubrius twisted her head to look up at Ailuin as he promised that he wouldn’t be long and said he was going to fill in the council about his plans for the ceremony. “Good luck with that.” She was sure they’d get pissy anyway, given what he planned on doing, but she wasn’t sure if he planned on warning them about that or if he was going to let it be a surprise. As he left, she settled in, staying still as Hanvosi began picking the dried salve out of her wings for the third time. It didn’t hurt as much as the previous two, but there was definitely soreness around the wound still, and other than talking a little about her and Ailuin being mates and how things were at his prompting, it was mostly quiet as he worked. Eventually, he’d cleaned off her wing and had gauze pressed to the open wound underneath, then warned her he was going to try and heal her wing and told her to let him know if it hurt. After she agreed, he started, and though she’d braved herself for it, the pain never came. Instead, she only felt a good bit of itchiness as his magic started piecing skin back together and trying to repair the hole that had been made in her wing.
Ramyth fell asleep fairly quickly as well, and slept soundly with Bridris in his arms, his wings folded back and resting against the bed behind him as they slept. He didn’t stir throughout the night, sleeping peacefully until he felt her stirring and snuggling closer against him. He mumbled incoherently, tightening his arms around her, and when he peeked an eye open, he realized it was already morning. “Is it time to wake up already?” he mumbled softly into her hair.

As expected, the council didn't take the news that Bridris would be made a part of the ceremony as tradition dictated very well. Most argued that she was a human and that she had no business at the ceremony, let alone in the court in the first place, and many were calling for her to be placed under house arrest until her kidnappers were found and she could return home to the mortal lands. After growing tired of the council members talking Ailuin cleared his throat, simply stating that not allowing her to participate in the ceremony would send the message that they believed that Roedanya, the goddess whose holiday they were celebrating, had messed up, and that they knew better than her, and that he didn't want to anger a goddess on her own holiday, especially not before such an important ceremony for the court. After a moment of silence the council members begrudgingly agreed before their meeting was dismissed so everyone could get ready for the ceremony, Ailuin returning to his room after making sure breakfast would be delivered to Ram and Bridris' room shortly, thinking it made sense to eat their because they had more room. He smiled encouragingly at Aubrius as he walked in, moving to his dresser to pull out his clothes for the ceremony. "Is she alright? No major damage?" He asked Hanvosi hopefully, not wanting Aubrius to be grounded for long, knowing she'd hate every second she couldn't fly.
Bridris hummed softly as his arms tightened around her, tucking her face into the crook of his neck, her breath warm against his skin. "I don't know... It seems early." She murmured softly in response, her fingers lightly gripping the back of his shirt as she snuggled closer. She was still clearly half asleep still, and almost certainly could have gone back to sleep, but the bells chiming from some tower out in the city drew her out from her sleep once more, the girl letting out a tired little whimper as she tried to hide herself in his arms, one leg hooking over his just in case he tried to get up.

Hanvosi looked up as Ailuin came in, offering the king a nod in answer to his question. “It seems there’s no more iron poisoning. I was going to send word as soon as I was done with the healing. Since the iron poisoning kept the wound fresh, it’s in ideal condition to be healed. It’s small enough that there’s a good chance I can completely get it done today. It’ll take most of my magic though, so she’ll still have her other wounds, though they’re fairly minor comparatively. The thing to watch out for will be dizziness from the blood loss. And I don’t want her flying or doing any hard exercise for a few more days until her body’s had a chance to replenish the blood. I can see about taking care of the rest of her wounds tomorrow.”

“I can finish healing myself,” Aubrius said, glad to hear that she’d be good as new soon and could fly, whether or not Hanvosi wanted her to. Gods, she was grateful the wound was small and clean enough to be taken care of without a problem. She’d been trying hard not to stop and think about the fact that she might need more work done to her wings and might have to stop flying for a long time again. “The council took your news well, I’m assuming, since you don’t look too upset?” She added to Ailuin.

“You need your magic to keep your strength up. Be patient one more day. Your wing is fine and you should thank the gods for that miracle alone,” Hanvosi said reproachfully to Aubrius at her suggestion of healing herself. It hadn’t occurred to him that Ailuin could likely care for the rest of her wounds.
“Mmk.” Ramyth closed his eyes again as Bridris claimed it was still early, willing to take her word for it and doze for a little longer, until the damn bells started ringing. He gave up on sleep at that moment with a little groan, realizing they’d need to get up and get ready soon if they were going to make breakfast before the ceremony. He chuckled softly as Bridris groaned and hooked a leg over his, nuzzling his nose into her hair as he squeezed her gently. “We should get up soon,” he murmured softly into her hair.

"Aub," Ailuin warned, giving his mate a stern look. "You need to listen to Hanvosi. The last thing you want is to try flying too early and end up hurting yourself more than you currently are now." He said, stepping into the bathroom to change into his outfit for the ceremony before coming back out, moving over to press a kiss to the top of her head. "I don't want anything bad happening to you, Aub. You're strong, you can handle another day or two stuck with me."
"But I don't wanna." Bridris pouted, her eyes fluttering open to gaze up at him tiredly, although she smiled when his eyes met hers, scooting up until she could press a quick kiss to his lips. "We could just stay here all day, where it's safe and warm." She whispered, gently smoothing her hands over his shirt as she snuggled close. "And no one can bother us here, it's perfect."

“I didn’t say anything about flying early,” Aubrius defended, not breaking under her mate’s stern look, though the thought of waiting even a few more days didn’t sit well with her. “He just said he wasn’t healing everything because he didn’t have the energy to now. I only suggested finishing the process myself rather than waiting for his magic to replenish.” Since Ailuin had moved into the bathroom to change, she shouted the words at him, going quiet for a moment as he stepped back out and snorting as she got a good look at his outfit before she could even think about stop herself. “Do you, umm... usually wear something like that to the ceremony? Am I really that drunk every year?” She asked, trying—and failing—to contain a smile even as Hanvosi continued to heal her wing.
Ramyth chuckled at Bridris’ response, humming softly as he returned her kiss and simultaneously tugging her a little closer. When she tried to suggest that they stay in bed together, he gave her an apologetic smile. “The ceremony’s today. As great of an idea as that sounds, even if we weren’t Roedanya’s blessed couple, I’d at least have to attend anyway. By law, every able-bodied fae of 100 or older must go. If I were to stay, I’d be exiled from the court,” he explained gently, giving her another lingering kiss. Even as he was kissing her, however, a knock came at the door shortly followed by a voice claiming that breakfast had arrived on behalf of the king.

"Healing yourself faster than Hanvosi can heal you implies that you'll also wanted to fly earlier than he wants you to fly." Ailuin pointed out, not buying for a second that she wouldn't consider flying if she were all healed. "You need your magic, if any of your injuries are particularly bothersome between today and when Hanvosi can heal the rest I'll heal it for you." He said simply, stating the last part as he came out of the bathroom. He'd expected Aubrius to laugh, considering he thought that the outfit was quite silly too, giving her a smile. "Yes, Aub. You really are that drunk every year, since this is the outfit I've had to wear every year for the last seventy or so years." He chuckled, moving over to take her hand and press a kiss to her fingers. "Don't worry, though. You get to dress up too, and even though whatever you wear won't be as nearly as awful as this, I'll still laugh." He teased, wishing he could kiss her without getting in Hanvosi's way.
Bridris smiled against his lips as he returned her kiss, although she pouted a bit when he said that he'd have to go to the ceremony one way or another, since it was required by law, and the last thing she wanted was for him to be exiled when she couldn't leave the court to go with him. But that didn't mean that she had to be happy about it. "But we don't know if I'm even allowed to go... Surely if one half of the blessed couple can't go, an exception can be made for the other half?" She asked, her grip on the front of his shirt tightening as she returned his lingering kiss, although she groaned a bit when she heard the knock at the door and the mention of breakfast being sent by the king. "But I want kisses for breakfast.."

"Or maybe I'm sick of being bruised and scratched and my ribs hurting every time I move and you being afraid to touch me?" Aubrius suggested with a cocked eyebrow, though in truth, Ailuin had definitely guessed a large part of her mental reasoning. She couldn't help herself and tugged on the tassels dangling from his belt as he approached in his silly outfit, laughing as he admitted he'd worn it every year for over 70 years. "What'd you do to deserve this kind of punishment? You look like you're playing dress-up in a story-book." She grinned at him as he took her hand, getting her to let go of his belt, and kissed the back of it. She was distracted from giving him the "regrettable" news that she would not be playing dress-up when Hanvosi said he was finished and asked her to stretch her wing and tell him how she felt. She sat up in bed, doing as he asked, but felt nothing out of the ordinary. "It feels great," she said honestly, grateful to be able to move her wings and not feel pain in them. "Thanks, Vosi."

"The best thanks you could give me is making sure you don't go poking any more holes in your wings," Hanvosi said, packing his bag of supplies he'd brought with him. When he finished, he offered Ailuin a smile. "I'll go prepare for the ceremony now. As I said earlier, you should keep an eye on her, but she should be fine as long as she doesn't exert herself too much."
"Maybe if it was just a dance like last night, but this is about pledging your loyalty for the year to come and entrusting your ruler with the power to protect the court," Ramyth explained softly, though he suspected Bridris understood and it was less that she was trying to convince him to stay and more than she was protesting his leaving. And he had to admit, he found himself reluctant to leave as she kissed him as well. "I think we can arrange that," he said softly, kissing her again. "Thank you!" he called before the servant who'd brought breakfast could knock on the door again. "You can leave it in the hall!" He gave Bridris a smile as he kissed her again. "Now we can stay here and keep kissing for a little longer."

Ailuin offered her a smile as she cocked her eyebrow at him, giving her hand a squeeze. "I know your tricks." He reminded her, his smile widening as she tugged on his tassels. "I think it's supposed to be some sort of traditional outfit, but I don't think they quite got it right." He chuckled, stepping back as Hanvosi announced that he was finished with her wing, smiling as she stretched them out and didn't report anything wrong. "Good as new. Thank you for your trouble, Hanvosi. I'll make sure she stays out of trouble." Ailuin promised, shaking the smaller fae's hand before he left, turning back to Aubrius with a smile. "You're really feeling better? Nothing hurts?" He asked, looking quite relieved by the news.
Bridris nodded a little in understanding but still pouted anyway, not wanting him to leave. She hummed happily against his lips as he kissed her again and said he could fulfill her request, giggling softly as he stopped to yell at the maid who'd brought them breakfast, taking the opportunity to press a few kisses along his jaw and down his neck. She returned his smile when he said they could keep kissing for a while longer, pressing a lingering kiss to his lips as she tugging him close. "I love you, Ramyth.."

"I don't know... they did a good job if you're supposed to be a cat toy, I suppose." Aubrius couldn't help teasing him about the outfit, especially since he seemed to know how awful it was too, definitely feeling more energetic and less upset about being woken up and dragged out of bed before she was ready with her wing healed and the news that she'd be good as new soon enough. She was sure it would take a while for the feathers to grow back in on the spot Hanvosi had healed, but he'd said it shouldn't affect her ability to fly, given how small of an area it was, and even as the mage let himself out, she was getting to her feet and stretching her wings again, just to feel them stretch. She tucked them back in as Ailuin asked how she was feeling, stepping up close and pressing a kiss to his lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Much better." She kissed him again, then booped his nose with his tassel as she pulled back and moved to her bag of clothes. "I better get dressed."
Bridris' mood almost seemed clingier than when the petals had been in her system, and though Ramyth wasn't sure why she'd woken up like this, so completely out of her usual, he was glad that she seemed to be in such a good, happy mood, and given that he'd also like nothing more than to just spend the day in bed with her, he was inclined not to spend time questioning it and instead focus on her. "I love you too, Bridris," he murmured, tugging her close as he returned her kiss and after it had drawn out for a bit, peppering kisses along her jaw.

Ailuin chuckled, wrapping his arms around her waist as she stepped forward to kiss him, happily returning her kiss. "I'm very happy to hear that." He murmured, returning her second kiss before laughing as she booped his nose, grabbing her hand before she could get too far and get to her bag of clothes. "Oh no, I was serious about you having to dress up too. Nothing too ridiculous, no dresses, nothing much different from what you normally wear, but with fancier material and less holes." He teased, pressing a kiss to her forehead before pointing to another bag of clothes tucked halfway under the dresser.
Waking up next to Ramyth had made her happier than she'd ever thought possible, and Bridris knew that as soon as they got up that all of their problems and worries and fears would come back, so she figured the longer they could stay in bed hiding from them, the better. "I still think I love you more." She giggled, returning his kisses and humming happily as he peppered kisses along her jaw.

Aubrius gave her mate a bewildered look as he grabbed her hand before he could get to her clothes and said something about her dressing up again. "Ailuin, I don't have--" she started, cutting herself off as he pointed to a bag she'd noticed under the dresser before but hadn't cared enough to investigate, giving him a blatantly suspicious look despite what he'd just said. "First of all, I was going to find something without holes, thank you. I'm note a complete savage. Second of all, why the hell would you have clothes made for me? No, when?" After a nudge, she went and retrieved the bag out from under the dresser, bringing it back to the bed and opening it up. And rather than one outfit, as she might've expected, she instead found several. Ailuin hadn't lied though. They were styled the same way her usual outfits were and even conformed to the sorts of colors she wore. There wasn't a lot of fru-fru, maybe some embroidery in a few places but mostly her plain style, just with finer cloth and cut. As she picked up a tunic, she realized it even looked to be the right size: a little narrower in the shoulders and chest than her clothes, which were made for men and she'd always either just dealt with or tried to make her own adjustments to depending on how badly they fit. It was possibly the most thoughtful thing anyone had ever done for her. She set the tunic back down and looked up at Ailuin. "Why're there so many? You know these will just get ruined if I wear them, right?"
Ramyth paused, chuckling as Bridris claimed to love him more, tilting his head towards her again and rubbing his nose softly against hers. "Really?" he asked with a smile, holding her close. "I think you underestimate how much I love you. And I'm very competitive, you know." He kissed her softly, letting it linger. They spent a lot of time together on a regular basis, but being able to lay here wrapped up in each other and kiss and talk about how much they loved each other felt like a dream.

Ailuin smiled a little as she asked him all sorts of questions and made all sorts of comments, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I requested to have them made the day after you came to live here. I just borrowed a pair of your pants and tunics so the seamstress could get your measurements, and asked them to make something that I thought you'd like and actually wear." He explained, taking a seat at the edge of the bed as she moved over to inspect the clothes. "I had them make a few different outfits so that you'd have choices. I figured you'd respond better if you had options, rather than me just handing you one outfit and telling you you had to wear it." He chuckled, offering her a smile as she turned back to him. "I know they'll get ruined, but that's fine. I wouldn't expect anything different."
Bridris giggled as he rubbed his nose against hers, resting her forehead against his. "I don't underestimate, I know that you love me lots and lots, but I just think that I love you more." She teased, returning his kiss as her hands rested comfortably against his chest. "I love you lots and lots, and even though I think that I love you more, I also hope that you'll try to prove me wrong." She smiled, gently running her fingers through her hair.

The day after they'd sealed the bond. She'd spent half the day trying to sleep off a hangover, so he'd probably borrowed her clothes then. Which meant he must've been thinking about the ceremony even at that moment in time and this conversation and had guessed her reactions perfectly, something she didn't even think Ram could've done. Like earlier, when he'd guessed at her reason for suggesting that she go ahead and finish healing the rest of her wounds. Ailuin couldn't know her that well, just like that, could he? "So instead you hand me a bag of clothes and say I have to wear something in it?" She tried to force her mind away from what the clothes meant and back onto the conversation. "Why these? And don't say holes or dirt."
Even though her mood was more playful at the moment, Ramyth smiled softly at her as she suggested that he prove her wrong in her assumption that she loved him more, gently rubbing his thumbs where his hands rested at her hips as she reached up to play with his hair. "I'll have to think of more ways how to do that. I already know I want to compliment you at least once a day, because it's absolutely horrifying to think that no one's taken the time to tell you how sweet and kind you are or how warm your laugh is or how cute you are when you're teasing or how beautiful you are--any of it. I've promised myself that I won't miss a single day to tell you something."

Ailuin offered her a little smile, running his hand through his hair. "Holes and dirt isn't the real reason, although that definitely is something to consider." He chuckled, looking at her after a moment. "I ordered them because I want you to look your best when you prove everyone who has ever said or thought anything negative about you. I don't want anyone to ever doubt you or look down on you ever again, I don't want anyone to ever make you think that you're not good enough for me. And as stupid as it is, having you wear nice clothes to the ceremony where I pledge myself to you helps with that, even if it shouldn't matter what you wear." He explained, offering her a faint smile, hoping she wouldn't be too upset with him for doing this.
Bridris giggled softly as his thumbs rubbed against her hips, finding that it tickled a little. She blushed brightly as he listed off a number of compliments, hiding her face in his chest as she snuggled close. "You don't have to compliment me every day.. You've already given me more than enough compliments."

Aubrius shook her head a bit at Ailuin as he explained his reasoning, moving over to where he'd perched on the edge of the bed and wrapping her arms around his neck. "You sure put a lot of stock into a bit of fabric. I doubt looking a little nicer is going to suddenly change anything, and I wouldn't be surprised if, after the ceremony, someone asked me what spell I put on you as soon as I'm alone. Which is okay. They can believe whatever they need to accept the fact that we're together--as long as they accept it." She leaned in and kissed him. "You'll do your thing and that'll help, but some people will think I made or tricked or coerced you into it, that you don't really mean it and just did it because we're mates but you don't really want to be, or that you can be convinced to leave, or that we're temporary, and even though I'm afraid of some of that too, I'm not giving up without a fight." She grinned at him proudly. "I've been plotting a little bit, and the reason I haven't wanted to miss the ceremony is mostly because I have a plan. I already asked Ramyth if I could borrow one of his swords, since his look more threatening than mine, and I'm going to wear it to the ceremony. Basically, I just want to make all the women afraid. Not many really know how to fight, and they know I win against men plenty, so I figure dressing like normal, which means good movement and all that, plus a sword, maybe a little posturing and glaring, possibly a growl if they're extra stupid, and I'll be good. That way they probably don't try to bother you when I'm not around but more importantly, they don't try to bother you when I am around, and I don't have to be angry at them constantly and be in a bad mood. Plus, even if they don't believe you and think I pulled something, everyone will just assume I'm crazy and be willing to kill someone if they fuck with us, and I can definitely live with that. And because it's the ceremony, I make sure everyone gets the message."
Ramyth smiled as Bridris hid her face as he started complimenting her, wrapping his arms around her and holding her close, guessing she was probably hiding because she was embarrassed or trying to avoid him seeing her blush again, even though he'd sort of been using her blushes as an indicator of how well he was doing. The brighter she blushed, the better-received the compliment. "I may not have to, but I want to. I want you to know all these things about yourself that I see and notice and to never question how I feel about you, and you deserve more compliments than I'm ever going to be able to give you alone anyway. I'm just trying to make up for as much as I can."

Ailuin wrapped his arms around her waist as she moved over, returning her kiss with a little smile as he held her close, listening her explanation and her plan for the ceremony. "I'm sure no one will even think about threatening you if you're wearing a sword, but I also think that you'll find that if you try on the clothes that they're really not all that awful as far as movement... Don't you think it would be more intimidating if you also looked the part?" He teased, pressing a loving kiss to her lips.
Bridris' cheeks heated up even more as she peered up at him, giving him a little squeeze as she pressed a kiss to his chin. "I don't deserve you.. You're too nice to me." She murmured as she tucked her face back into his chest, snuggling closer.

Given that it was Roedanya and violence was pretty frowned upon, Aubrius was happy with how well he took her plan, rolling her eyes however as he worked it back around to her wearing one of the outfits. "Hmm... I guess there is the black one. I'd probably look intimidating in that," she hummed, leaning in and kissing him back. When she pulled back, she gave him a teasing smile. "I think the only thing that can convince me is a kiss though. A good one."
Ramyth was actually happy to see her red cheeks when. she turned to peek up at him, smiling down at her as he squeezed her gently and shook his head when she claimed not to deserve him. "That's not true. If anything, I'm trying to be deserving of you," he told her, kissing the top of her head as he held her close.
