The embers flicked and a light cool breeze threatened to ignite it again. Yet a splash of lake water doused the area, snuffing out any signs of a flame. Blinking lightly her eyes filled with unshed tears. The rubble before her once a place she called home, a house that held so many of her dearest memories. It was gone. The laughter that rang through the halls, the soft padding of feet. All that was now locked tightly in her memories. As the place she wished to live in for the rest of her life laid in ashes. Her brother having never been found, the only thought in her mind was he'd perished in the fire that took their home. The home she'd felt the safest in. Blinking lightly she felt the wetness break over the damn and trail down her face. The porch was where she'd learned of her parents death. They'd been ambushed and slain, leaving her and her brother as orphans. But she'd managed to cope with that great saddens, as she was able to be comforted by the home that held their photos and memories. But now she had nothing, left alone in the world. The only comfort she had was a small group of people from her pack that had survived. However they weren't what she needed nor wanted. Her young mind broken. And the thoughts of survival were left in the hands of more experienced men. Their Alpha had perished in the fire, leaving the Beta to step up into his shoes unchallenged. The man however wasn't what they needed at the time however it wasn't like she had any place to go or any idea of how to survive. She was barely of the age to mate. Hearing the movement around her she could bring herself to care, though a rough hand grabbed her arm and pulled her to face them. Her wide eyes snapping to the man before her. He was terrifying to say the least. But he was suppose to be the man to lead them in the new change. Their shamble of a pack hurt and beaten down. "You're suppose to be putting out the fire not standing dazed." His harsh voice rang out, before he brought his hand up to gently cup her face. Charlie tucked her head trying to keep from allowing him to touch her to much. She didn't want him to feel like she was inviting him to have sex. That was the last thing she'd wanted. "Have you thought about what I said?" His words were softer this time. Though his grip never once loosen from her arms. "I have." She told him knowing that refusing to mate with the Alpha could hurt her greatly. But she didn't think now would be the time she could fully understand the choices. However fear coursed through her as his grip tighten. Her hand coming up and gently touching his trying to get him to release her. "I think we should go for a run." She told him, knowing that if she could escape his wolf then she'd never have to suffer being his mate. She felt his hand loosen a bit. His eyes going a bit wide by the thought of being able to actually catch her. Knowing that once he did not only would her mark her as his mate but he'd get to have his way with her as well. "Tonight." He told her knowing that he had a few thing he still had to do in order to get their pack back onto track but he wanting putting off mating her any longer. To her however it was a chance to flee.
The area was dull and lifeless, though that didn't stop the moving of claws on the ground. The push on further and faster as they sought to reach their destination before sun rise. The portion of the pack split from the rest as they made their way from the wreckage. The coming onslaught had the pack on edge. As it was used to fighting in full force, the cursing blow to a wolves ego was enough to send him into a state of rage and a fit of defiance. However the command of an Alpha's was always followed, unless the challenger didn't fear death. That was one thing Wonho never dared to do. His best friend since they were kids was one to powerful for him to take on and two he was loyal to the man. However it pained him to not only be called from the fight but to know he was leaving brothers behind to possibly die. It didn't set well with him. But never one to question his Alpha. He trudged on. They were set to be at their 'ally' pack by morning. And if it wasn't for the his distrust to allow his Alpha alone in unknown territory he'd have requested to fight along side his brothers. However it still didn't appease him even a bit having to choose between the two. Shaking out his fur as he ran the cool breeze prickling his skin as he felt a bit of joy. His thought turning from the fighting that was currently going on to the possibility to sinking his teeth into a nice piece of ass. It had been a while since he'd been able to enjoy a woman's touch. And this trip was guarantied to end with him having bedded a few she-wolves. He's need for a mate was the furthest thing from his mind. Never would he want to be tied down to just one bitch. This was his best life and he wanted to live it as long as he could mate free. The changing of scenery quickly pulled his focus, the full lush forest standing perfectly beautiful next to the destruction from a forest fire. It was were the fires had started before they tore through the land. And it all made sense to him now. The war his pack had been dragged into was over land. The wasteland that was once a beautiful sight to behold had been nearly all burnt to the ground. Trapping a pack in its wake and killing them. However that's where his pack came into play, they were to make sure that now one was left alive. Stepping through what felt like a gate he could feel the tension rising in the wolves around him. They were now in their 'ally' territory. And their destination not to far off. His eyes however were alert and shifting as he flanked his Alpha. The wolf charging head strong not one ounce of fear pulling at his body. It was why he was the commander and Wonho was just a loyal follower. The light broke through the trees before, and Shownu slowly the pack. They were at the edge of entering a town and ahead of them was a welcoming party. Though it was a pure display of power, the few men that stood waiting for the pack were surrounded by a much larger amount of wolves. It was a clear sign that the men entering were welcome but they were being watched. As they neared Shownu quickly phased, standing their in all his glory before the few men. He was quickly greeted and offered a source of clothing to cover his nudity. Wonho watched closely as the two men conversed. Listening closely to any changes in the tone of words the man spoke, feeling a bit more relaxed when he'd agreed to allow the pack through. Phasing Wonho moved standing behind his Alpha. Not caring one bit he was naked, it was a sign of weaken to care. Nodding his head to the man who offered him covering he knew it was just their way of breaking the ice. Shownu continue his conversation with the man as they moved through the town. It was small yet it felt like there was some more parts of it out of sight. They arrived at the bar, a local establishment the pack would be staying at. Apparently it offered accommodation above. Nodding the men entered, however the tension was quick to pick up on. These two men being the only ones allowed in for the time being. Seemed like they'd walked into a trap. However a kind look man rounded the bar and quickly introduced himself. The two Alpha's finally meeting for the first time. And while the two spoke kindly to one another the room slowly fell into one of silence. "Let's take this to my private room shall we?" The man before them questioned, nodding to both Wonho and Shownu. Letting the other Alpha know he was more than welcome to bring his Beta. The trek up the stairs seemed like it was all the other pack needed to continue their previous activities. The room over looked the bar, giving the men a clear view of what was going on down stair. And it gave Wonho a sense of ease. Knowing they could see an attack coming.
