To say Kylee was still shook up from the attack would be an understatement. She couldn’t understand how everything had happened so fast. The nightmares were keeping everything fresh in her mind. Deep down Kylee knew that she was safe, the man that had attacked her was caught and arrested. It was the middle of the afternoon when she grabbed her cell phone and picked the name from her contact list. She put the phone to her ear as it rang and smiled when he answered, “Hi Spencer. I hope I’m not bothering you...”

Kylee had become close with Dr. Spencer Reid. They had kept in touch since the attack and Kylee enjoyed talking to him.

Aaron Hotchner was exhausted as he got out of bed. It seemed like lately the entire team was running on empty, an endless pile of case files. A day break, that was all he needed, but it didn’t look like that would be happening any time soon. He sighed as he got up and got ready before going into work. As he walked into work and greeted his team, Once he reached his office, Hotch sat in his chair and ran a hand over his face.

He knew it wouldn’t be long before they had another case and he’d be on the plane to wherever they were needed.

Spencer had just sat down at his desk inside of the BAU unit as his phone began ringing in his messenger bag. Instantly digging through it, he grabbed his bag answering the call. "Dr. Spencer Reid." Spencer answered.

"Hi Spencer. I hope I'm not bothering you..." A voice came from the other end.

Spencer instantly knew who it was, it was the young woman who'd been attacked and he'd managed to save. "Kylee." Spencer breathed out. "You are fine. How are you doing?" Spencer questioned.

Running a shaky hand through her long blonde curls. Carrie Rossi stood in front of the mirror letting a sigh escape her lips. She was exhausted, and traumatized. She was thankful her friend was allowing her to crash inside of her apartment.

"Hey I have to head to work..." Penelope's voice rang out from the other side of the bathroom door.

"Alright, i'll see you tonight." Carrie hoarsely called out.

"Carrie." Penelope sighed. "Why don't you come with me instead of staying here all day?" She suggested.

Pulling the door open, Carrie stared at her friend of many years. "And let my father seeing me in the shape I am in. Or the man I have been holding onto for the longest time. That I am currently engaged too." Carrie told Penelope sighing.

"Dave and Aaron both have been calling me non stop. Wondering when you're returning from your business trip. Carrie." She looked at her. "It's time. It's been a week." She added.

Knowing she was right, Carrie sighed nodding. Getting dressed she walked out with Penelope. It wasn't long till they were at the BAU. "I am not sure about this." Carrie sighed looking at her.

"Well, I am." She warned.

Kylee was relieved to hear that she wasn’t bothering him, of course she didn’t think he would tell her anyway. “I’m doing okay, just taking it one day at a time,” she said softly. She was thankful Spencer had been so kind after the attack and Kylee felt safe around him.

She tried not to call him too often, only when she felt it necessary and nothing else would calm her down. “The nightmares are happening less often, so that’s good,” Kylee told him.

Aaron sighed as David came into the office, “I still haven’t heard from her and Garcia didn’t answer my last call.” He told Dave. It had been a week since Aaron had heard directly from his fiancé and he knew that Dave was worried about his daughter.

They were interrupted by Derek coming into the office, “Garcia just got here, Carrie’s with her.” He told them before walking out. Aaron looked at Dave before walking out of the office just in time to see Garcia and Carrie enter the room.

"That is a real good sign." Spencer said seeing Aaron and David walking towards Derek. He shook his head a moment and turned his attention back to Kylee. "It looks like it might be a quiet day. Would you like to go to lunch we could talk and you could get some ease and relaxing." Spencer offered her.

Carrie felt Penelope grab her gently, "You have to do this." She pushed her gently before leaving her. Carrie glanced up seeing her dad and Aaron as she sighed to herself. She walked slowly over to the two of them glad the makeup covered up the cuts and bruises that were on her face.

Kylee was happy to hear Spencer say it was a good sign. She listened as he continued, surprised when he mentioned getting lunch, “Yeah, I’d really like to get lunch. Where do you want to meet?”

Aaron made his way over to Carrie, he had been worried about her this past week. He met Carrie half way, “Do you want to come up to my office?” He wasn’t sure what happened and he didn’t want to push Carrie.

"How about La Panda?" Spencer questioned her. "I hear the place is pretty good." Spencer smiled as he twirled around in his chair and took and smiled at the thought of spending time with Kylee.

Nodding her head, Carrie felt his arm go around her lower waist as she bit back the wince that was trying to push out. Going up the steps she walked inside with the two feeling her dad hug her once Aaron removed himself and shut the door. She took and patted her dad's back and notice Aaron's eyes widen at the bruise on her wrist. Frowning she looked at him knowing she had to come clean, she couldn't hide it anymore. "The last night of my conference." Carrie whispered. "A man came up to me said he knew you two. Said you two had came to surprise me and were outside waiting. I figured it was true." Carrie paused. "I walked outside, and was ambushed by him along with four other men." Carrie frowned staring at them as she wiped the makeup away revealing the bruises and cut places, and her busted lip she still had. "When I woke up, I was in a hospital, and Penelope was beside of me. They had called her from my contacts." Carrie whispered. "I figured they'd called you or Aaron." She looked at her dad.

“Okay, I’ll meet you there,” Kylee smiled. She took a minute to think, “How about an hour?” Kylee was excited to have lunch Spencer, really any excuse to see him was fine with her.

Once they were inside the office, Aaron wasn’t ready for what Carrie told them. He listened carefully to everything she was saying. He felt so many emotions hit him all at once as Carrie wiped the makeup away. Aaron quickly pulled her into his arms, “I’m so sorry. We will do everything we can to find them.”

Spencer smiled at her asking about an hour. "I'll see you then." Spencer smiled as he took and ended the call and finished up some paper work before heading out.

Holding onto Aaron she took and buried her face into his shoulder. "You can't drop the cases you have for this " carrie whispered. "I'm alive and here itll be fine." She told him softly.

Kylee smiled as she hung up, she got up from her couch and went to her closet. She wasn’t going to pick anything fancy, but she wanted to look nice. She fixed her hair before grabbing her keys and phone before going to her car and leaving.

Aaron held her close, rubbing her back. He wanted to drop everything and find who did this to Carrie, but he knew she was right. “We will do something about this, maybe not right now, but we will,” he told her.

Spencer headed out of the BAU without being seen. He took and slung his messenger bag across his chest and headed for the restaurant. He took and arrived a little early as he took a seat on a bench outside. HIs nerves were beginning to get to him now. Sighing to himself, he took and frowned as he shook his hands a little. He honestly had no idea why he was so nervous right now, but he was beyond nervous about this little lunching with Kylee. Of course he saved her, and he'd been nice to her. But he was beginning to feel something for her, and he couldn't explain it.

Pulling back a little she looked at him, "Let it go." Carrie whispered cupping his cheek. "You have work to do. I have to finish the final details to our wedding." Carrie forced a smile trying to get the images out of her mind from the men attacking her. She was leaving a lot of details out of what she was telling him. But she couldn't tell him the rest, nor her father.

"We're glad you're home, and safe." Dave smiled hugging her again and kissing the side of her head. "I'll leave you two." Dave gave them a smile walking out going to his own office.

Kylee checked her hair in the mirror of her car before getting out and walking into the restaurant. She was nervous to see Spencer, but also excited. The smile on her face grew slightly as she spotted Spencer at one of the tables. Going over and sitting across from him, “Hi Spencer.”

Aaron couldn’t help smiling slightly when Carrie mentioned their wedding. He decided to listen to her and focus on his other cases. Once Dave left, Aaron looked at her, “I’m glad you’re okay and that you’re here.” He told her before kissing her cheek softly.

Glancing up, Spencer took and smiled at her, "Kylee." Spencer smiled as he looked at her. "I am glad you called." He told her honestly.

Carrie looked at her fiancé and smiled lightly, "So am I." Carrie whispered staring at him as she took and looked at him. "You look very tried." She told him watching him walk around and sit down at his desk. "Aaron are you over working yourself again?" Carrie questioned.

Kylee smiled, “I’m glad you answered and that you suggested lunch.” She admitted.

Aaron sighed softly as he sat down behind his desk. “I am tired, I’m not overworking myself, I promise.” He looked over at her and smiled softly, “Just going through a slump, I’ll be fine in a couple days.”

Spencer smiled at her, "So am I." Spencer told her as he took and looked at her. "So honestly, how are you doing?" Spencer asked worried about her.

"A slump?" Carrie questioned sitting in a chair in front of his desk. "Honey, are you sure you're ok?" Carrie questioned him.

“I’m doing okay,” Kylee told him. She knew better than to lie, that he would see right through it. “The fact that the nightmares aren’t happening every night and I’m a little less afraid leaving the house by myself, I’m making progress,” she smiled.

Aaron nodded, “I’m sure. Just haven’t been getting a lot of sleep these past few days.”

Spencer nodded his head at her, "That is true." Spencer told her softly as he took and looked at her smiling. "I am glad their letting up, and you feel more comfortable coming out now." Spencer told her as he admired her a moment as the waiter came over. Ordering himself a water he looked at Kylee waiting for her to place her order.

Carrie frowned looking at him. She took and gave him a light smile, "Since you're not that busy. How about we go get Jack from daycare, and go out for lunch?" She smiled at Aaron.

“Me too, I can start going back to my normal life,” Kylee said softly. Seeing the waiter come over, Kylee ordered herself a lemonade.

Aaron nodded when Carrie suggested they get Jack and go out for lunch, “I think that would be a great idea.” He smiled as he moved from behind his desk.

Spencer smiled at her, "That's a good thing." Spencer told her softly as he smiled.

"Good." Carrie smiled getting up slowly as she walked out with him. It wasn't long till they were at daycare and she was cradling her son in her arms kissing him all over his face. Smiling she went with Aaron as they went to lunch. Smiling she sat him in the booster seat and sat down with Aaron as they waited to be waited on. "So, I saw Spencer leaving? Is he seeing someone finally?" She asked her fiancé smiling.

“It really is, I don’t want to be that way for the rest of my life,” Kylee told him. She smiled as she looked at him, “But anyway, how are you?” She asked.

Aaron watched as Carrie sat Jack in the booster seat and then sat down. Hearing her mention Spencer, he thought for a moment, “I know he’s been talking to Kylee. They’ve kept in touch since we caught her attacker, I think he likes her.” He laughed softly, looking over at her.
