Orlando grinned and laughed as she called him lazy, taking another sip of his drink. “Listen. When I’m laying down upstairs, I don’t wanna have to come all the way down here for a drink. Or what if I get hurt and can’t walk? I think it’s a brilliant trick.” He said and laughed again. Seeing Rosemary’s smile he couldn’t help but let his smile get even bigger. “He’s a very good boy.” Orlando said and smiled down at Hades.
Orlando grinned as she teased him about how hungry he was. Orlando did feel like he was starving after having barely eaten the past few days besides pizza and fast food. Orlando was as good of a helper as he could be, handing her things as directed. He enjoyed how this just felt right. He wished this was how things could be every night. “Finally!” He said in a fake exasperated voice. Orlando grabbed his own plate and filled it up. He took nearly double what Rosemary did.
Orlando sat down at the table and waited for Rosemary to sit before he began to eat. Orlando frowned as Hades crawled under the table. “No.” He said attention and pointed towards the living room. “No begging. Go lay down.” He said, the dog letting out a sad sound and walking out of the kitchen. “I don’t want him begging.” He said and sighed. Orlando continued to eat, letting out a small moan. “Jesus, Rosemary, how are you such a good cook? Why didn’t you go to culinary school?” He asked snd smiled at her. “I bet you coulda worked for Gordon Ramsay.” He complimented her before taking another bite.
Orlando felt his phone buzz and pulled it out, checking his text before he put it away. It wasn’t urgent but it was something he had to deal with in the morning that wouldn’t be very fun. “So when do you want to meet my dad?” Orlando asked rosemary as he looked up at her again. “You think I look beat up cause of my scars? Just wait till you see him. He’s like Al Capone.” Orlando said and laughed softly. “Dalton became a doctor because he was always worried about dad getting hurt. And it works well for me because he’s our on call guy for injuries to me and my boys when we can’t go to a real hospital.”
