Eleanor frowned as he hurried after her, looking at him with watery eyes as he said that they could make it work, that he didn't want it to end. "That's what you said before.. But let's be honest, Thomas, it ended a long time ago, and we've just been idiots trying to pretend otherwise." She looked away, wiping at her eyes. "I... I'm not happy anymore, Thomas. I haven't been for nearly a year. Everything feels hopeless, all the time, and I just want a chance to try to feel normal again." She looked defeated as she spoke, and it was easy to tell just how miserable she was.
