when you are young

Eve looked at herself in the mirror. She sighed. It was the first day of her junior year and she had to start it at a different school. She grabbed her backpack and went downstairs. Her parents were already gone for the day. She grabbed a quick breakfast and made her way to the car.

She drove to her new school Beacon Hills High. Eve parked her car and admired the school. It was better than she expected. She left the car and walked through the crowd of kids to the front office. The administrator handed her a schedule and a map. She followed the route and made it to her first class, English.

The classroom was nearly empty, she noted that she was a few minutes early. Eve took a seat near the back of the room by the large window.

Scott promised himself that this year he would be a much better student. He was studying for the SATs and keeping his mind focused on family and friends as well. He finished his last pull up when his alarm went off, signaling it was time to get ready. He took a quick shower and got dressed for school.

He hopped on his new bike and drove to school. He found his new locker and placed a few books up. Scott checked his schedule and hoped that he had enough classes with Stiles. He would need him to help stay accountable.

Scott waited by his locker for his friend. He wanted to catch up for a few minutes before the bell rang to start the day.

Stiles took and smiled to himself finishing up getting ready for school. He walked out to his JEEP and got in. Once he was heading to school his mind raced with thoughts. This year was going to be good. He had a good feeling about it. Once he arrived he parked, and headed inside picking up his stuff and going to the locker that his friend had, and his beside of him. "Good morning to you." Stiles smirked.

Sighing at her reflection, she touched up her makeup in the car and frowned. Getting out she slung her backpack on her shoulder and began walking towards the school. Stopping at the office, she grabbed her information and headed for her locker. Placing her things inside she got what she needed for her first class, and headed to it taking a seat and looking around seeing a few people in the class.

Eve pulled out her notebook and settled into her desk. She opened her phone and went through social media. People weren’t showing up yet and she mentally kicked herself for being early. But she was avoiding the whole charade of standing in front of the class and doing an introduction. That was always incredibly awkward. She sighed and glanced out of the window.

Scott smiled at his best friend. “Good morning!” He closed his locker and leaned against it. “Dude, I’m just saying now, this is going to be the year I focus on school.” He was anxious to get the day started. His first day of school the previous year was completely different. He felt more in control of himself and his surroundings. He glanced down at his schedule to see which direction he needed to go.

Stiles took and looked at Scott, "I have heard that before." Stiles laughed at his friend. "Guessing we only have a few huh?" Stiles questioned.

Tapping her pen, Olivia took and looked at her watch and sighed to herself. Twirling some hair on her finger she knew she shouldn't have came earlier than usual.

Eve pulled out her schedule and started labeling her notebooks to match her classes. She pulled out her favorite blue pen and set it aside for class. She always kept her grades and the easiest way of doing that, was to stay organized. She checked the clock, the bell would be ringing soon. Her nerves were getting the best of her for the moment.

Scott laughed with his friend. But that turned to a frown, he was used to having more classes with Stiles. “I guess so man.” He glanced at his watch. “We better head out. Can’t be late on the first day.”

He pulled his backpack on his shoulder and headed to his class. He walked through the doors and his eyes fell on an unfamiliar blonde. He took a seat next to her and smiled. “Hi I’m Scott.”

Nodding his head, Stiles went his own way. Sighing to himself he walked into the first class of the day. Scanning the room to see if any of his friends where in there. He found none of them were. Sighing to himself he shook his head a little. Scanning the room once more he spotted an unfamiliar person, he'd never seen before. Seeing the brunette organizing, he grinned to himself. Walking over he took and sat beside of her, "Why, hello there. I am Stiles. And you are?" He grinned at her.

Glancing up from her notebook, Olivia glanced at the voice that was speaking. Seeing the guy she felt her cheeks warm. Clearing her throat a little she stared at him a second, something seemed off with him. But he was very attractive. "Hi." Olivia finally replied. "I am Olivia, nice to meet you." She spoke softly.

Eve glanced up to the boy speaking to her. His grin caused her to blush. “Uh—hi.” She smiled at him. “I’m Eve.” She was delighted that he decided to sit by her. Her anxiety of the first day melted away as she took him in. He was incredibly cute and most definitely her type.

Scott nodded. “It’s nice to meet you Olivia.” He pulled out good textbook and notebook, sitting his backpack next to his desk on the floor. “Welcome to Beacon Hills.” He promises this year his focus would be on improving in school, but he didn’t mind a beautiful distraction.

Stiles took his book out of his backpack and binder. Grabbing his pen he laid it down and looked at her smiling, "Well nice to meet you, Eve." Stiles smiled. "First year here?" He questioned mentally smacking himself already knowing it was. Or he'd remembered her.

Olivia looked at him, "Thank you." She replied softly seeing other students coming in as she smiled at him. Turning her attention towards the front when the bell rang. She took and felt the butterflies in the pit of her stomach.

Eve chuckled at his remarks, “Yes, first day.” She glanced around. “For once, I’m glad I was early. I am trying to avoid the typical introduce yourself to the class speech.” She noticed the class was beginning to fill up. But she didn’t want the bell to ring. Her eyes went back to Stiles. She hoped they had more classes together. She wanted to get to know him.

Scott smiled at Olivia. “You’re welcome.” His voice was lowered. The bell rang and he glanced around. Thankfully their teacher was running a little behind. He leaned a little closer to her, keeping his voice down. “If you need a place to sit at lunch, you can join me and my friends.” He knew first days could be tough and he wanted to make sure she truly felt welcomed. Plus, it would be nice to have her around for more than just first period.

Stiles smiled at her, "Well I hope you like your first day here at Beacon Hills." Stiles smiled brightly at her. "I hate the whole introduce yourself. I mean everyone knows everyone unless you're new, like you. But you get what I am saying." Stiles laughed nervously rubbing the back of his neck.

Olivia glanced over at him and smiled, "I would like that." Olivia told him staring at him as she took and smiled brighter.

Eve’s stare was fixated on Stiles. He was being so kind and she could tell he was a little awkward, in a good way. It was before first period and he was already brightening her day. “Well, you’re making my first day a lot better.” She blushed slightly as the words came out of her mouth, but she was being completely honest. Her smile was still wide, “Oh I didn’t realize the school was small enough for that. I kind of like that! But yes, it’s also just incredibly awkward.” She chuckled. Her last school was much larger so she was looking forward to a more close knit school.

Scott retuned Olivia’s smile. “Awesome! Everyone is really nice. I think you’ll fit in well.” Her smile was intoxicating. He hadn’t felt this happy since well, Allison. He didn’t know another girl could have this affect on him. Much less, someone he has barely known for a few minutes. He was already counting down the minutes until lunch.

Stiles smiled at her hearing the teacher come in and clear his throat. Turning his attention to the teacher he took and smiled at Eve before listing to the teacher as he chewed on his pencil.

Olivia smiled, "I hope you're right." Olivia smiled at him as she heard the teacher clear her throat. Smiling at her she took and tapped her pencil trying to pay attention.

Eve smiled at Stiles and turned her attention towards the teacher. She started taking notes on the lesson but stole glances at him throughout. She smiled as she watched him chew on his pencil and she couldn’t help but notice how attractive he was. She kept an eye on the clock, time seemed to be flying by.

Scott chuckled, “You’ll see.” He knew his friends would gladly accept Olivia into the group. He reluctantly turned his head forward and took notes. He did his best to pay attention, but his eyes kept glancing over to the beautiful girl next to him. He was ready for lunch, so he could have some time to get to know her more.

Stiles took a few notes, as he smiled to himself. Sighing to himself he shook his head as he stretched leaning back in his chair. He took and sighed to himself glancing at Eve every second he got a chance to do so.

Olivia took the notes like normal and noticed scott staring at her. Smiling a little she blushed as she took her notes smiling to herself.

Eve grabbed her schedule and wrote a note on a separate piece of paper. She scribbled out a note. ‘Do we have any other classes together?’. She waited until the teacher turned his back and slipped it to Stiles. She sent a smile his way.

Scott noticed Olivia’s blush and quickly looked away. Heat rose to his cheeks as well and he tried to hide it. He waited patiently for the bell to ring. As soon as it did, he piled up his items and put them in his backpack. “Can I walk you to your next class?” He asked with a small smile?

Stiles smiled at her as he took and looked at it. "I am not sure." He grinned hearing the bell ring. He got up and walked with her as he showed her schedule to him.

Olivia smiled, "I--" She bit her lip. "Yes you can." She smiled.

Eve glanced between the papers. "It looks like we have more than a few. Including this one." She assumed the small nature of the school had to do with that. She stayed close to him in the hall as they walked together.

Scott smiled and walked next to Olivia. His stomach was in knots at the way she bit her lip. He looked at his schedule and noted where his next class was. He hoped it would be with her. But he knew it would be difficult to pay attention in classes he had with her.

Stiles smiled, "I have no complaints." He grinned. "Come on i'll show you to our next class, ma'lady." Stiles grinned at her as he acted like a jester or prince of some sort.

Olivia smiled as she looked at her paper, "Well, this is my schedule see any classes we may share?" Olivia asked handing him the paper.

Eve giggled at Stiles’ behavior. She followed him to their next class. “Why thank you kind sir.” She could tell that they would be getting along well. She enjoyed someone with a sense of humor.

Scott smiled as he compared their classes. He nodded, “Yeah. We have the next one and a couple more after lunch.” He handed it back to her. “I can show you around to those and any other classes. If you want.” He said, offering a wide smile.
