Rise Above The Storm

With a deep breath, she climbed into the driver's seat and fastened her seatbelt as Dom crouched down at her window.

"Don't worry too much about winning, use this time to get reacquainted with the car and the way it moves," he told her with a smile, "Be careful out there."

"I will."

The truth was that she wasn't there to not win, for once she was racing for herself and she wasn't about to lose.

Brian took and watched her close, worried about her as he took a deep breath.

Sat at the start line, Addison pushed everything else out of her mind and focused on the race. It had always come naturally to her, the ease of gear shifts and the knowledge of when to push just that little bit harder. The race was over in what felt like seconds and Addison came to a stop, climbing out with a smile on her face.

"That's my girl," Tej shouted, handing over her winnings and kissing her cheek when she handed over a stack of notes, "This is how you show the race organizer a little respect."

"I think you'll find that that money belongs to us..." came her mom's voice from somewhere among the crowd, causing Addison to tense and back up as her mom emerged.

"This was my race," Addison argued, feeling her chest tighten as the panic erupted and taking a deep breath, "I don't owe you anything."

The pain came from nowhere and Addison suddenly realized that she hadn't yet taken her tablet, which only made her panic more. Tej was soon at her side, leading her away from the crowd and slipping her a pill without anyone seeing.

Brian took and walked closely behind, not letting Tej or Addison see him. Knowing something was wrong, he frowned walking up slowly. "Are you ok?" Brian asked.

"I'm fine," Addison told him, smiling and kissing his cheek as she walked over to where the crew were with Seb.

"Good race," Vince complimented as he hugged her.

"Thanks."

Brian watched her closely wondering if she was telling the truth. He took and stood back as he watched.

Addison knew that she had to tell the truth, but she was scared that it would change the way they looked at her and she hated feeling vulnerable.

"Bri, you're up next," Dom told the group as he joined them, high fiving Addison with a grin and kissing Lauren's head.

Brian nodded his head going to his car and getting in it getting ready for the race.

With a deep breath, Addison leaned against Vince's car beside him and watched as Brian climbed into his car. She was never nervous before a race, but watching Brian at the start line and hearing the rev of the engines made her nervous.

"He'll be fine, you know," Vince told her quietly, "He may be a buster, but he's got some talent..."

"With a chuckle, Addison nudged Vince's shoulder and returned her attention to the race.

Gripping his steering wheel as he came across the finish line, Brian took and grinned in victory as he parked and got out. Looking at his crew he smirked nodding his head.

Lauren had came home after Addison's race. Sighing she sat down in the recliner feeling the contractions getting worse as she took and sighed softly to herself.

With a grin, Addison rushed over to Brian and kissed his cheek.

Dom frowned as he looked around, not seeing Lauren and immediately excusing himself.

Brian chuckled and smiled at her holding her close, "Told you I would be fine." Brian told her.

Lauren adjusted herself in the recliner sighing as she grabbed her phone calling the OB to see what she needed to do. She was hoping she wasn't miscarrying like she had before, when they had found out she was pregnant a couple years ago but had kept it to their selves.

Dom arrived home and headed inside, finding Lauren sat in the recliner. "Are you okay?" he asked as soon as he saw her.

"I know," Addison stated with a smile.

Ending the call with the OB she looked at him, "I started having contractions." She frowned. "Like the last time. I called the OB doctor, he said for me to come in so he could check me." She admitted adjusting herself.

Brian smiled at her.

"Come on, I'll drive," Dom said as he offered her a helping hand.

Lauren held onto his hand as she got up slowly and made her way out with him. After a while she took and looked at Dom getting the all clear that the baby was fine, and the contractions had stopped. "At least it isn't a repeat." She told him holding his hand.

"You really do need to take it easy," Dom commented with a frown,

It was late by the time Addison and Brian arrived back at her apartment, putting Seb to bed.

Lauren frowned, "I know, I am trying." Lauren sighed putting her hand to her forehead. "Dom what if I don't make it to term? Like the last pregnancy? I really can't handle that again." She whispered feeling his strong arms go around her as she lent into him letting the tears fall silently.

Brian kicked his shoes off and smiled as he took and saw Addison return as he smiled at her. "Seb settled in?" Brian smiled.

"That's not going to happen," Dom said, though he knew that he couldn't promise anything, "You heard the doctor, the baby is strong and so are you... we can get through this together with the family."

"Yeah, he was already out before I put him in his cot."

Lauren looked at him and nodded her head holding to him.
